Ten thousand years later, ice has melted. The Soul Federation Scientific Exploration team found an egg with a golden and silver pattern on it in the far north of the land, and after examining it with an apparatus, they found out that there were vital signs inside. They hurriedly brought it back to the institute for hatching.

The egg hatched, but it was a baby, a baby exactly the same as a human – a baby born out of an egg.

DD4 is coming to an end, if you follow the MTL. We maybe got 200 chapters to go, maybe less. Due to this I think I'll write an updated review.

DD4 builds off of DD3 directly, Lan (Tang) Xuanyu being the son of Tang Wulin and Gue Yuena. Due to possession of both the SDK and GDK he walks a fine line of life and death, he needs to strive towards the Dragon God's complete strength or die trying. That being, he learns many of the... more>> abilities from his parents which act as his mentors.

Plot wise, DD4 follows the basic get up. We follow our protaganist through early training where he meets some allies, a love interest, and true friends. He then strives towards Shrek. Though unlike DD2 and DD3 he stays at Shrek for a realitively short period of time

Spoiler

A large portion of the story the MC stays in the military. We learn thst remnants of the Dragon Clan are living in the adjacent galaxy. They are the rulers, lead by the Fire Dragon King's clan descendants. They and the Heavenly Horse Clan rule as the 2 most powerful clans inhabiting planets with dense life energy.

The protaganist meets a follower of the original Dragon God, a parasite who has powerful illusion abilities. With his help they infiltrate the planets. Funny enough, he decides to pose as a girl. Female dragons are rare, I believe only 1/10 dragons are female. This leads to him and the FL being readily accepted, and many funny moments.

DD1 fleshed out a cultivation system, DD2 expanded upon it and better articulate Titled douluo stage. DD3 followed by introducing the concept of life energy, an understanding of limit douluo, and finally the possibility of exceeding rank 99. DD4 will illustrate rank 100+, the limits, and why a godrealm is so dearly needed.

DD4 is about space exploration, meeting new races, intergalactic battle, and learning how the universe is ordered. Its a fun ride imo. It truly grows of DD3 and does it justice.

Spoiler

Ive completed the series through MTL recently. Ill be honest and say it was a huge disservice. The plot had far to many loose ends, much loss potential, and alot of wasted time. The Shrek 7 devils of the current generation did not appear at all in the last few hundred chapters. The previous generation is glossed over far to quickly. The planet of paradise is never expanded upon, nor the dark elves, nor the pirates, nor many side characters. Plot lines that appeared pressing, important, or string wnded up frayed. I hope DD4.5 will be better, but the author wanted to jump into DD5 asap ut seems.....

DD1: It was excellent; the only thing to draw ire was a somewhat rushed conclusion. When you consider that it has many sequels it is not too big an issue.

DD2: It was stable; if I can consider the prequel to be an action-packed adventure. This was an almost systematic explanation. Truthfully, few parts of this story really give the sense of suspense and intrigue, that the prequel does. Don't get me wrong it is still awesome it is just how do I say this near perfect. Perfection is a great... more>> goal and approaching it often produces monumental results. As a story aspect though it can mean bad things such as stale. Still for the most part a lot of noteworthy things were done we had alternate forms of strength and growth introduced.

DD3: It started out good it is like the way readers started Mao Ni's Path Toward Heaven really excited and expectant... an emotion looking back now that was carried on too far. I almost felt like I was reading something like Fairy Tail by the time this one was over. It had emotions take bigger priority over built-up power. Which I felt really betrayed by what he had built up till now. It was wholesomely unstable and unsatisfying.

DD4: This thing is perfect I must say it is like watching a master put together what he thinks his audience desires. That might be my biggest gripe here everything is so well done the MC is perfect. The support is perfect. The plot is not too lacking but you know as you read it rather than a feeling of praise I can only feel that this is like a story about passion with no emotion. It is like looking at the world's best put-together mural and thinking if you just lightly touch it all would become smoke, it is hollow.

No, why. Seriously why did things turn out like this. Where is the spirit the heart in this thing it feels so dry and dead?

I think that after this novel the author should consider switching genres. I Will read what he writes next, but I feel action is not his strong suit right now. <<less

I never finished reading DD1 to DD3, despite my excitement and expectations, I was never quite able to continue reading past conflicts regarding FMC (I hate love-separation especially if it relates to the MC. I guess I'm just that kind of reader *shrugs*).

I've read DD4 up to around chapter 500'ish and I must say I'm glad I didn't find anything hampering my reading experience. I was kept curious and excited for what comes next in the novel and often times had a hard time trying to stop reading (f*ck my... more>> college life).

All in all, this novel is right up my alley and was a pleasure to read so far. <<less

k Struggles with Character Independence. Hayyss

Ultimate fighting novel undoubtedly captures my attention with its engaging characters and the thrill of their battles. However, one aspect that seems to hinder the development of the protagonist, Lan Xuanyu, is his consistent reliance on the character Xiuxiu during competitions, particularly in the Horse Dragon Galaxy. This critique aims to examine the impact of this dependency on Lan Xuanyu's character and explore how it hampers his potential as a brave, independent leader.

Dependence on Xiuxiu:
Throughout the novel, Lan Xuanyu's dependency on Xiuxiu during his... more>> fights becomes a recurring theme. While it may initially seem endearing or practical to have a companion supporting him, this reliance on another character consistently takes away from Xuanyu's individual growth. Rather than showcasing his own skills, bravery, and strategic thinking, the reader is left feeling frustrated as Xuanyu appears to be in constant need of assistance.

Stifled Character Development:
Lan Xuanyu's dependency on Xiuxiu hinders his character's growth by limiting his ability to face challenges independently. Instead of overcoming obstacles on his own, he often relies on Xiuxiu's interventions, which ultimately undermines his potential as a leader. By consistently having Xiuxiu play a pivotal role in Xuanyu's fights, the narrative misses opportunities to develop Xuanyu's resilience, adaptability, and problem-solving skills – qualities that would contribute to a more well-rounded and inspiring protagonist.

Diminished Independence:
The absence of independence in Lan Xuanyu's character prevents him from truly shining as a leader. Independence is a fundamental quality of leadership, as it showcases an individual's ability to make decisions, take risks, and face the consequences. By constantly relying on Xiuxiu, Xuanyu's leadership potential is undermined, leaving readers wanting a more assertive and self-reliant protagonist.

Alternative Approaches:
To address the issue of overdependence on Xiuxiu, the novel could have explored alternative methods of character development for Lan Xuanyu. By allowing Xuanyu to face challenges on his own, the narrative could have highlighted his resilience, intelligence, and determination, further emphasizing his growth as a leader. Including moments where Xuanyu makes independent decisions and confronts obstacles without assistance could have showcased his development as a confident and self-reliant character.

Conclusion:
While the ultimate fighting novel captivates readers with its engaging characters and exhilarating battles, the constant reliance of Lan Xuanyu on Xiuxiu during competitions, particularly in the Horse Dragon Galaxy, hampers his character's growth and potential as a brave, independent leader. By exploring alternative approaches to character development, the narrative could have provided readers with a more well-rounded and inspiring protagonist who overcomes challenges through individual efforts, showcasing his true leadership qualities. <<less

I've read the first 4 books and currently reading the fifth one.

In term of world building, I gotta give 5 stars for this series, unfortunately there are two things that annoyed me, much annoyed, in regards to this series.

Firstly, the repetitive explanation/narrative. For example, I've already hundreds or thousands of chapters in and I knew how Yin Tianfan "tortured" the poor boy during his pre-Shrek time, so there really wasn't any need for the author to mention it again and again, countless times. It's tedious. There's a lot of repetitive... more>> things like this going on, and when it happened, I just scrolled thru and sometimes it takes pages. Another example is like in the fifth installment, the author keep on reminding us, the readers, how Tang San was previously a God King, hence why his talent and strength is much superior than his peers etcetcetc.. Yeah we got it! Stop saying the same things, please.

Secondly, the characters building. The author introduced a lot of characters, and sometime I felt like these characters were important and vital for future events, only to realize that they were later forgotten and just gone, never to be seen again. For example, the author keep on stressing the importance of Shrek Seven Monsters, but in reality, they were just a bunch of kids that studied together with MC and were only relevant when there was a group battle. We didn't even got to know what happened to them towards the end. Not just Shrek Seven Monsters, in this 4th installment, there was also the 33 Sky Wings. What happened to them? After all the group cultivations, missions and shared resources, what happened to them? Were they introduced just to highlight the awesomeness of the MC's leadership quality? Seriously?? Such a waste of potential. Another example is Lan Hudie. The author was so detailed in writing the plot between MC and Lan Hudie, as if suggesting that Lan Hudie will have a crucial part in the later chapters, but nope, nada. I hate loose ends, and this series has a LOT of loose ends.

So, that's it. You have been warned, so read with caution. <<less

The DD series comes to an end in this book. And its been a great read all thru out. All the DD series have already been completed. Its just that the sites released 1 or 2 chapters per day but dd4 is already finished. I've been reading the raw chapter where the site will automatically translate Chinese to English until the end.

The Tang family would all reunite in this book. And the final chapter would end in chapter 1793.

The reunion after 10, 000 yrs of separation with Wulin and his family is a tragedy and so hearthbreaking. Thou they manange to help Xanyu inherit the only Dragon God seat, one in all the universe, after they returned, Xaio wu suddenly finally meets her end. Afterwards Tang San firmly decided to reincarnate voluntary to find Xiao wu, giving up his Supreme God king position, cultivation and immortality back to TGR. The whole family was hurting and separation again with Tang San and Xiao wu came too fast.

The ending is a bit lost for words. But I was just hoping TJSS would write the next novel DD5 based on the 3rd life of both Tang San And Xiaowu in wherever universe or plane or galaxy they have been reincarnated to and alongside the creation of a new god realm by xanyu co-existing with the combined 6godrealms of the God Committee.
