On the wedding day, her fiancé and his lover had a love affair and eloped. Her eyes were dim, she seized the man in front of the Civil Affairs Bureau.

”To sum it up, your bride is not here, my groom ran off, wouldn’t it be better if we… fight together?”

Before marriage, she said, “Even on the bed, between me and you, there will not be anything!”

After the marriage, he said, “Do not try, how do you know?”

honestly, if you’re looking for a hardcore plot this ain’t it. It’s got quite a few plotholes but nothing too outrageous. All in all a nice story to read when you have time.

HOWEVER, for me, the best part of this (and what made it so memorable to be in my top 10 novels even if I've read probs close to a hundred novels already) IS THE RELATIONSHIP. Their relationship is honestly THE BEST relationship I've ever read. This ain’t the first wife-s*ave, doting husband I've read but it’s the first... more>> time it was mutual on both sides. The wife is also a doting, husband-s*ave who shares his troubles AND I LOVE IT.

the ML is the typical domineering CEO but has an actual storyline (somewhat; ofc the story focuses more on the FL as she’s the MC) and isn’t just a face-slapping tool for the FL. Their doting is double-sided and she also takes care of him. I LOVE IT

the FL is also really likeable bc she’s calm and smart and actually thoughtful to other people lmao. Not like the typical FLs that seem to think about their lovers and friends <<less

So far this novel is at the top of my list. Though at the later part of story it became repetitive but still bearable to read. I love how there were additional chapters for the children. All in all, the story is really good unlike others.

Some of the Things I like:

The face slapping although because of the long novel, not so much towards the end.

No love triangle where the heart can't make up it's mind or there are ambiguous feelings.

From the very beginning, Tangning and Mo Ting had such a steady relationship. There were no misunderstandings (or if there are, it gets resolved quickly) and no third party could come in between them. So it was nice that the author threw in secondary couples that had to overcome obstacles together. Likewise, as individuals, Tangning and Mo Ting were too smart, too powerful, and too perfect. So having secondary characters who are flawed and have to go through some character growth does balance the story out. A lot of these... more>> secondary characters I grew attached to so I would have loved to see what happened to them afterward.

The author also does a good job bringing the story full circle so that at the very end, I was extremely pleased. However, we could use a little fewer villains. Seriously, they are endless and one will pop up after another. I did appreciate the last few villains though because some of them were able to redeem themselves or showed us that they were humans after all.

I have to admit though that there are parts of the story that was dragging, especially in the beginning when it was another model or actress that Tangning was fighting. Towards the end, the variety of villains were better, IMO.

My last gripe about this story, I don't know if it's the fault of the author or translator but I often find mistakes with names or inconsistencies in the story. For example, I swear Tang Xuan gave birth to a boy (see Ch 596) but later, it was mentioned that Tang Xuan's daughter resembled her. I also get confused a lot when they talked about the twins, Zixi and Zichen. I swear Zichen was the older twin while Zixi was the younger twin (see Ch 717 when they were born and Mo Ting named them) but in later chapters, Zichen is the younger one and Zixi is the older one (especially in the epilogues). <<less

It was another spectacular Black belly Novel!

Mo Ting is a superhuman perfect and totally the top Wife Do-Ting ^_^ Fan Club President. It was like tang Ning receive the greatest lottery ticket of all time LOL. Also my favorite part would probably be the epilogues! The story was totally 100% Complete. From being the perfect wife and husband, into perfect mother and father of their children, into understanding and still loving grandparents! OMG ahahah once you finished the epilogue. The Story was totally the END like it has nothing more... more>> to ask. They conclude everything so no attachment lingering and became just a sweet memory :D Thanks for the translator of this nOvel! It was an awesome read worth the eye bags @.@ <<less

I like this novel at the beginning as it started pretty well. Later the story is getting repetitive and predictable hence I'm bored and not interested in what MC does anymore (MC evolves from one job to another). The long epilogue story about their children are pretty interesting though. No rereading as well.

I did like this novel at the beginning as it started pretty well. Later it becomes repetitive especially when the female lead is solving issues. Their story gets to a stage where the outcome is mostly predictable. Quite a long story, boring in some places. I enjoyed reading about their children though. Their (the children's) stories combined was less than half that of their parent's.

Besides the male lead resembling my husband in many ways (although my hubby has green eyes), there is a best part for me and those are... more>> the writer's descriptions.., of the characters, including their emotional and facial expressions at those certain moments and the fashion descriptions from the wearer and viewers points of view. <<less

This is basically worse than I expected.

The trial lasted until 1000++ eps, even when she gave birth to her twin sons in ep 500, I didnt see any affection scene even once lol. And when she gave birth to her daugher in ep 1000, she left overseas to study lmao I feel bad for the twins.

I think the author is run out of ideas but insisting to continue writing. She keeps repeating the same circle, crating a new trouble when the old one is finished.

This is a disappointment. Drop this.

finally a good novel... honestly I liked ceo spoil me 100% before this... bt this one is simply amazing and fulfills all my requirements...
1- Smart and intelligent MC... really good MC m very satisfied with her.. shes cold bt not excessive like the female leads in some other novels.. extremely understanding and just too cute.. even I cnt help bt fall in love with such a woman... simply coz if such a woman existed or even close to her then any guy would be happy giving their heart to... more>> her coz they knw that once accepted she would never break their heart.. and also coz shes understanding and only acts cute around the guy she loves..

2-Male lead is one of the best... he was there for her since the 1st chapter.. since the beginning he respects her choices and trusts her without asking anything which I guess most ppl ask for in a relation ship.. hes pretty much everything a girl dreams of..+ he shows his emotions very easily in front of MC instead of hiding things or his emotions coz of some plots or something, he tells her everything and never hides anything if she asks abut it and she returns it in the same way.. thats really good and maybe people reading should learn something from this novel coz in our world in relationships ppl try to hide a lot of things.. thats why they keep changing partners till the day they die..

3-the love didnt take too much time to happen.... honestly in many novels of this type they take a lot of time in getting to love each other which is just plain annoying.. unless its done in a tasteful way which is rare... they got married and ever since then he supported her and waited for her not coz he was in love, he wanted her to prove herself to him.. and when she did then the love happened and it didnt take long...

4-one thing I m most grateful for is that after they got into the relationship... they never doubted each other no matter what kind of rumor they heard about each other..i hate when there r misunderstandings coz of other ppl in a relationship.. and I love them coz they r very mature couple... they knw what the other one wants..u cn say this is pretty much the most ideal relationship I hv read yet or at least I definitely dream of..

5- side characters- love them.. the author also showed stories of the side characters and even many of their problems in such a tasteful way that it didnt feel bad while reading and it didnt feel like he is getting out of context or just writing the side castes story for the sake of increasing chapters or word count..i simply love they way he jumps from the MC to side chars and then bck to MC like he never left her in the first place..

6- love how MC changes the jobs one after the other not coz shes too talented bt also coz she strives to learn and also has the strongest man in their industry to back her up.. most of the time she solves it herself in the beginning bt later on sometimes she would involve the ML too which shows that shes not invincible like most MCs with some kind of gift or cheat code...

Overall in my opinion I would rate this 10*s/5*s simply coz of the relationship between them since I started reading this hoping for this kind of relationship.. its my ideal relationship and currently I cn place them first on the power couple ranking of long stories like this one coz I dnt read anything below 900 chaps... so even if there r a few negative points I cn ignore them..i m around chp 916 so I cn only hope this novel ends like it started and I sincerely hope it doesnt disappoint me with a rushed or bad ending... <<less

Oh the sweet satisfaction each time she claps back. I love the MC so much. She's beautifully brutal. Her relationship with the ML is also really nice. The pace might have been weird from the start but as time passes, their chemistry gets better and better. Some may say her revenge is taking things too far or too unnecessary when I think she has all the right to act that way.

Her career declined because of you-know-who and she was used then tossed away. For being so devoted only to get... more>> nothing back, she has all the right to do whatever she wants to do. Also, she only attacks most of the time when they provoke her. If her enemies didn't act on their jealousy and evilness, neither would the MC have to act. But where's the fun in that. I found the story to be extremely enjoyable. <<less

Basically this was the first novel that I read so far which not so far fetched from reality and the plot is so addicting (for Asia region). Romance that being brought and how the mains face obstacles, their relation with other even the nosy female character being matchmaker for their own breathen and bring justice for them almost the same as How to Marrying The Millionaire by Kerrelyn Sparks. I thought not so far the female will indead help her sibling including that black hearten eldest daughter. It just the... more>> conflicts and villains not so well written for me to curse and throw pillows for them well out of 10 I will give 7.5 <<less

I wish this story didn't rely too heavily on those scandals.. really, it's exhausting and at this point all I'm begging for is someone with brains... Like you know doesn't immediately jump on the bandwagon and sees her as an enemy... Or even if they do, use clever schemes with valid reasoning.

I'm now at the current latest chapter. I feel that there's a big arc in every 100 chapter.

I read this when I was bored a while back and stop when the chapter has just reached around 95. Yesterday I found this and started continuing it.

The plot was sometimes frustrating because the MC always met problems. It's basically about solving one problem after another.

What I like the most was that the MC and ML relationship gradually improve to be strong and natural. The transition was a bit smooth if I do... more>> say so myself. The other part I love the most was the love relationships of the side characters. They're so cute and I feel the love everywhere.

This story isn't the best but there're way worse stories than this. At least this still counts as worth reading in my opinion <<less

This is a novel that is quite addicting. It starts off with the MC at a low point, hits a turning point, and decides to start over anew. It's a story of deep romance, revenge plotlines, and plenty of face slapping. Few things to note:

  1. This novel is like Hidden Marriage + First Marriage, Then Love. The story starts off with the MC (once star model) being betrayed by her fiance and out of desperation, registers for marriage with the first man she sees at the registration office (similar to FMTL). Turns out, he's the most powerful man in the entertainment circle. Of course, due to the nature of their jobs, they can't reveal this relationship (similar to HM).
  2. Villain characters take a while to defeat. A major villain takes about 100 chapters to completely wipe, minor side characters last maybe three to 10 chapters. An issue with character development is that all villain types she comes across fit under the same archetype: manipulative, self-centered, egotistical, and control-hungry. They all see other people as resources and not humans. Yet somehow, they're generally very poor at reading the situation and exceptionally poor at calculating gains and losses of their actions (and a couple of the main villains are CEO characters). While they all do have some differences, their personalities are too similar and makes you wonder why the author doesn't spend more time on creating a more varied cast.
  3. Though the character development is a little weak, the schemes, tricks, and fights that are used are quite varied, interesting and don't get stale. The dialogue and interactions the MC uses with the media is eloquent, powerful, and satisfying, where you can see how well she can handle PR crises while slowly crushing the hope of anyone that dares fight with her. It is absolutely satisfying when you see the MC and her allies fight their enemies using stunning press conferences, solid evidence of wrongdoings, and well constructed arguments.
  4. Writing style can get a little draggy in the earlier arcs, since the author can't stop reminding readers that a certain "event" is going to happen toon. The pacing does improve as you reada the novel.
Overall, it's a nice mix of power-couple romance, modern day Hollyswood schemeing, and revenge.

TL;DR: A story that repeats the same things over and over. It all happens quickly but it happens a lot and ends up making the story far longer than it needs to be.

Non-TL;DR:

Be prepared for a nearly endless stream of s*upid people targeting an unbeatable main character and her invulnerable husband.

The MC in this story is Tangning, a woman who has left her family to become a model and be with the man she wants. Unfortunately, the man is scum and doesn't show when they are about to be married.... more>> At that moment, she meets the ML and the two get married instead which begins her life of returning every bit of negativity to the ones who gave it to her.

Spoiler

The backstory of the MC is that she is actually the daughter of the Tang family and one of the potential heirs to their century-old perfume business. She's had her half-sister treat her like crap (half-sister even tries to remove the MC's uterus) and has basically cut ties with them for how she's been treated. The rest of the family still loves her though and the grandfather wants her as the head of the company. This half-sister has always believed that the MC was an illegitimate child with a mother who stole away the half-sister's father. Turns out the dad was two-timing and married to both the MC's mother and the half-sister's mother at the same time (the MC's mother temporarily divorced him and only remarried him later for her daughter's sake once the half-sister's mother died).

[collapse]

The ML is Mo Ting, the CEO of one of the top entertainment companies in China. He's the usual cold CEO to everyone but is 110% a wife-simp. While he says he won't get involved in her faceslapping her enemies, he does help in the background. Early on, no one knows that he's the MC's husband but even when it becomes public knowledge, people forget that he's got a reputation for being ruthless.

Seriously. The amount of times people do things against the ML or MC while forgetting that the ML will straight-up destroy them is pretty staggering.

As the story plays out, we see the MC get her revenge against her ex, the ex's main squeeze, the ex's sister, her second agency, managers at the second agency, a plethora of actresses, paparazzi, her half-sister, her half-sister's in-laws, her own mother-in-law, even a politician and a doctor. I'm actually probably missing a few people but yes, she gets a lot of revenge. A few of the 'evil' people are also redeemed and given a second chance, just to spice it up.

This story is really like the author wanted to put in all the plot points but condense it so that it happens fast. While the arcs focusing on certain characters lasts a reasonable time, the little events are dealt with in like 3-5 chapters. There is no foreshadowing for the events. Just an introduction of a character and then how this character intends to screw the MC, ML or one of their friends/relatives. Then part 1 of their scheme happens, good guys react and look for evidence, part 2 happens, good guys react and look for evidence, part 3 happens, good guys use all evidence and utterly destroy the antagonists.

Spoiler

Not kidding on destroying the antagonists.

The Ex goes from being a CEO to a valet.

The ex's main squeeze abandons him before disappearing from the spotlight.

The amount of people that get blacklisted (which means their careers are utterly ruined) is staggering. Actors, models, directors, managers. Whoever targets the MC gets wrecked.

One song-writer goes to prison after it's revealed she nearly killed her own grandfather in a car accident, mutilated other competitors (had a dog maul one, pushed another down the stairs, etc) and was targetting the MC. Her grandfather also commits su*cide when he realizes his only living relative is a psychopath.

There is also a lot of people that were indirectly ruined because of the MC (like the doctor who treated her like crap and caused the MC to move her son to another hospital, the doctor's hospital used that as motivation to fire her).

That's not counting the people ruined by the MC to help the ones she cares about.

[collapse]

It regularly switches to getting revenge for other people. In fact, there is a whole arc dedicated to the MC in a saviour role where she starts a secondary entertainment company with the sole purpose of helping those who were suppressed by others in the business. It starts out good but it's a rinse and repeat until someone wants to tear down the MC again.

Spoiler

One of the people she helps ends up betraying the MC's company because she fell in love with a manipulator.

Then there is the guy who set up the MC's assistant (who was working as the CEO of the company temporarily) and took over the company to give to the MC's look-a-like.

Coincidentally, both of them die from falling from buildings.

[collapse]

Then in the last 400ish chapters, we get several deaths of secondary characters. Only one was really built up before they died so it wasn't as impactful beyond their parts in the plot.

Spoiler

I get using character deaths to drive a plot but we literally have one actress commit su*cide so that the MC has a reason for leaving the public view for a while. This isn't even a character that's been around since the beginning but a secondary character who gets added in for this singular reason. She is only there for the MC's last acting role and quickly ramps herself up to eleven before killing herself.

[collapse]

Then there are the mini-plots with the kids and I don't think the author is a parent or knows any parents.

Spoiler

Outside the fact that the MC is heavily active for a pregnant woman (both times even though they keep claiming she's relaxing at home), the reactions she and her husband have are not realistic at all. Plus there wasn't much research into the condition the MC or her sons develop.

When it becomes clear that she has hypertension on her second pregnancy, it's written like the parents actually have a choice in the matter. No matter how wealthy you are, the doctor is not going to give you the choice to decide whether you can be induced when you have it. It's pretty much "your baby is big enough, it's coming out" so that the mother doesn't stroke out on the table.

During the learning arc, they leave the twins behind the entire time and just take the newborn daughter with them to Europe and America.

Then the twins have a fall which results in something getting lodged in one boy's eye. "Something". This is where their wealth should have come into play but it doesn't. The father also then makes the decision for the boys to be sent to live with his mom and the MC's mom, all under the pretense of letting the MC take care of herself for a little while first.

This would have been an interesting plot point but it completely goes against the established personality of the MC at that point (this is like chapter 1000) who said she just wants to spend time with her kids. Never mind that the accident happened while she was distracted with her husband.

[collapse]

The more you read, the more it becomes obvious that the ML doesn't care as much for his kids as he does for his wife. Which is normal for these stories but it feels so much worse in this one. It probably doesn't help that every single plot arc is about someone thinking they can treat the MC (or someone close to her) like crap and get away with it. Despite how quickly everything gets solved, it ends up dragging. And the final antagonist ends up being wrapped up so anti-climatically that I almost didn't finish the last chapters.

Spoiler

This guy kidnaps his own great-granddaughter and the twins of the MC and ML. He also arranges for one of his men to commit su*cide and tries to blow up the ML on set. He plagiarizes the MC's film and practically takes over his grandson's business before putting his grandson in a coma to continue his plan of revenge against the ML's grandfather.

Then he sees the three kids together and the silent twin tells him that the woman in a photo is beautiful. Which makes him cry. After that, the ML's grandfather shows up and they talk before the ML stabs himself in the hand. Aaaand that's apparently enough to make the guy give up and be remorseful.

[collapse]

We do get after stories with the kids but I honestly couldn't be bothered to finish them as they're just the same "oh no, someone is against me" plots like the rest of the story but lighter.

Overall, I enjoyed parts of it but it's just too much of the same. <<less

One of the novels that I've finished after a loooongg struggle. Seriously, I had to stop reading it for a while before I read it again and stop before I continue reading it once again. I liked it at first because she's a badass but as it goes on, it just feels repetive and quite stressing since disaster would follow her again and again and it will end with another face slapping scene and then another misfortune will hit her again and she would solve it again with a face... more>> slap and so on. And this is really the novel that made me think that the entertainment industry and the media is so dirty and disgusting. The novel portray it that way with all the scheming, Jelousy, greed and all the sh*t that is happening. (As a result, I don't trust whatever happen or issues or scandal our celebrities in our country have) To be honest, this would have been good if it was short and the author end it after she become successful with her career and was recognize by the public and live happily with her husband and children but why do the author had to drag it for sooooo long with all the trouble one after another. The way she always appear in the news because of those 'troubles' became so exaggerated and annoying.

At first it was okay, it was exciting with all the face slap but as it goes on, I felt like the netizens in this story were just plain s*upid, always believing in media despite the fact that they always get face slapped. <<less

After chapter 500, I just turned my brain off.

Both MC likes to prolong their revenge for the sake of 'playing cat and mouse' to the point of making everyone their enemies and allowing them to implicate things further. Just to satisfy their undying boredom. Mostly the FL.

They allow criminals to get away with something like 'before I call the police, get lost!'

... more>> Which I find ridiculous.

There is also a dormat characters like the Major General whose supposed to be a hacker and airforce but is useless in the plot. His wife/gf got plotted by yet he hasn't done anything example is when she got attacked by dogs. And this Major General is always in the frontline that he always gets into accident (getting shot, plane crash)... Is he the only soldier around? Is there even war?

The ML is also dumb. Is he so poor that he can't hire bodyguards 24/7? They were talking about million dollar contracts but they can't even afford proper protection, gps devices, dashcams, and more. <<less
