Literally, 50% of this novel is about describing the FL's supposedly otherworldly beauty in the POV of every single person she comes across. Then 10% more is her endless obsession with food and another 10% is her acting like a child all the damn time. The rest 30% is the plot, but really I couldn't find it as engaging as I'd hoped it'd be, since all those paragraphs about FL's appearance, her exaggerated narcissism, and the brainless netizens took me right outta the story every single time.

Spoiler

Not to mention, all those scenes of her "acting" in that variety show. Except the second challenge about the disfigurement scene, every other one was absolute cringe. Especially, how the author tried so hard to push FL's explanation for her second scene in the finale.

[collapse]

But you know what really made me drop this story?

Spoiler

It's the camera crew hanging outside FL and ML's BEDROOM at NIGHT, hoping to RECORD INTIMATE SCENES BETWEEN THE COUPLE!!!! THAT IS LITERAL STALKING!!! Especially after ML did his part of showing them basic courtesy and offering them the guest rooms to stay the night since it was so late!!!

[collapse]

I literally just sat there shell-shocked for a couple minutes. It was so disgusting and put me off so much, that I couldn't continue any further. I haven't read many Chinese novels thus far, so Idk how serious characters treat their own privacy as, but personally, I just can't get past it even if one were to pay me a 100 bucks to continue reading after that scene.

Spoiler

Also, with the whole issue of the people around FL telling her she'd be "fat" and unattractive if she goes even.1 over 100 pounds (I'm looking at you, ML), I don't even know where to start.

[collapse]

The only redeeming quality of this novel is ML's son. That's it. Even the FL had almost zero character growth up until the point I read the novel. <<less

Thanks for translating this novel translators! 💕

Since this is my favourite, I strongly recommend it!

I read this novel quite a long time ago. Honestly, this was the first story that I MTL'ed; and surprisingly, it was easy to understand ^^/

This story has been the no.1 in my favourite bookshelf for a long time now and I have yet to find other stories that can replace it.

... more>> I've reread it so many times I lost count already~

If you love quirky, fun, easy going, sweet and strong characters; this amazing MC has those^-^

ML is aloof but he's very sweet and pampering towards MC. He's responsible, dependable and not at all abusive!

Not to forget (because he's like the most important character here) ; the little bun! He's so adorable yet quite mature (sadly because he was neglected by the original mother before MC came).

He's expressive in showing his love to his mother and he's super cute when he's 'educating' his father. Even though he's clever and smart (because all he did before the MC came, was studying!), he still sulks and throws tantrum occasionally.

Little bun is really cute; he's a fierce tiger cub~

Another thing that I feel happy about is how the bad guys always got what they deserved! And how good people who initially doubted her always became her huge fans. Those were very satisfying~

Lastly, this story is unique and one of a kind because MC is super super awesome in being an actress and celebrity! You'll have to read the story to know how she does it~

I always have fun reading this, hoping everyone else will have fun too^.^

Kudos to the author and the translators^^ <<less

This novel is among the best strong FL novels out there.

She is smart, witty, comedic and knows how to switch a situation to her own favour.

The character of ML is also not bad even if he belongs to the troupe of cold CEO Types.

I love novels where FL can stand for themselves and is very clear on what she wants. She doesn't let misunderstanding happen between herself and ML. Love her.

Translator-san has also done a pretty good job. I would recommend this to all who loves transmigration with witty FL.

Dropped at 168 - tried to read it to the end but just can't

I intentionally read it for fluff (like I don't expect much from it) but can't finish it because everything is so repetitive. You already know when MC encountered any problems what will happen next. All same old thing. Again and again. (Maybe because when I read it, the rating is 4+ so I still expect too much?)

I'm okay with MC being mary sue (quite expected before reading already). I think you will either find her interesting... more>> and her actions being funny or just annoy because of her s*upidity/immaturity. ML is fine. I quite like and feel pity for him. The baby is cute though him being team mom whereas dad is always wrong is quite weird even if he yearns for mom's love when the original FL has ignored him for his whole life. If the story portrays that ML didn't look after him (mostly nanny or something), it'll be more reasonable.

To sum up I'd give it 1.5/5. It's okay. Only recommended to people who are seeking for light romantic comedy novel with immature super mary sue MC and don't expect or don't seek depth through reading and are fine with the story being repetitive. <<less

I am dropping this because I’m starting to find the story draggy & repetitive without a purpose, which makes all the flaws I’ve been ignoring more glaring. First things first, I love the FL. I like that she is an atypical snake spirit that’s confident and flirty and not embarrassed of her sexuality to a fault. Like we get that she’s beautiful - does this have to be told to us every chapter. I liked that she talked openly about the s*x and her characterization was stable that you’d expect... more>> her actions to be in line with her character. I like that she didn’t pursue the OG story and they chatted new pathways for themselves. I like that so far the ML has not interfered with her work and actually supports her - there was a point there when he was starting to police her dressing and I’m glad the author nipped that in the bud. Now to the things that I didn’t like:

Spoiler

1. The author’s lazy to explain how the MC got good her acting and is very shady about her background. How did she suddenly learn everything about being human and in her human body without leaving behind any snake-y behaviors. The author only seems to bring her snake spirit background when it’s to arouse the ML. Where did she watch all the TV if she didn’t have a cellphone as the author said - the author seems to have completely forgotten her origin and character setting.

2. Aren’t we tired of plots where fathers compete with their sons for attention and end up considering each other enemies? The father has been solely raising this child for 5 years, how do they suddenly to a 180 and not have any doubts? Like they can be a harmonious family without the unnecessary drama of competing for attention. At first, it seemed that the author will tackle the kid’s trauma from abandonment but that was quickly abandoned in favour of cute antics that were only cute the first 10 times. After that it started becoming annoying. Why is the child said to be precocious but he is only precocious when the author needs him to be and then he reverts to ignorance about everything - just to provide unneeded cheap comedic interludes?

3. All opponents are so s*upid. Like they did all the side female antagonists dirty. After being in the entertainment circle for that long, they would still persist with those s*upid plots that another one uses anymore? The villains lacked even an ounce of conviction in the evilness and were just plainly s*upid and very out of character. E.g., menu xinran, as smart as she was, she would have abandoned that plan and recalibrated as soon as she noticed things weren’t going in her favour and he much cherished public image was under threat.

4. I was okay overlooking the childish FL thing because she sometimes manages points of naïve subtlety and excellence that’s entertaining. But at some point, the Mary Sue-ish behaviour was just too much combined with how the author selectively raised and dropped her IQ and EQ depending on circumstance. I didn’t mind her MS-ness but at least let her be consistent. And at least let everyone else have some smartness. Did they not have any great actors before MC appeared? Like how did the acting quality of everyone else drop just to make MC shine.

[collapse]

the translation is excellent, a few grammar problems here and there but excellent nonetheless. I’d recommend it if you like an opinionated celebrity MC’s in a book full of cliches from this genre. If you don’t mind all the million and one cliches, it’s a pretty light read with no major surprises and s*upid villains. <<less

Fun at first, mostly due to the FL, but highly repetitive. Half of the plot is based on unlikely actions taken by a 5 year old and it gets more and more annoying with time.

The ML is just boring and is the worst part. Why did he even marry the original body ? For whatever reason it looks like his greatest desire in life is to start a loving family to the exclusion of everything else, but then he marries a random woman just because she is pretty? And it... more>> seems like that woman clearly hated him from day one. Then he kept her around for five years for the sake of the child even though she completely ignored the child to a point one could easily claim abuse. What are you doing man ? <<less

Winner Winner Chicken Dinner without effort. The plot armor is way too thick and the spotlight on the main characters is rather nauseatingly blinding.

One of those many badly written vanity romance fantasy novels.
Went quite consistently against the basic rule of 'show, don't tell'.
Pure obnoxious spoon-feeding style of narration.

The MC doesn't make it hard for anybody to hate her. She's got a plethora of bad attributes and 0 redeeming qualities for counterbalance that wouldn't be seen as blessings from author.

It's the cons that outweighs the pros: she treats the child like a doll, behaves similarly to many other novel's mistresses to seduce the ML she had no feelings for and acts like a villainess cannon fodder in front of others with a haughty attitude and vulgar mouth before the other person has even the slightest opportunity to interact or offend her first.
It's not wrong of the character to be blindly beautiful but it's always been brought up when she's being nasty, making it seem like people are only changing their view point of her because they're face-cons.

The kindness she dishes out is only for convenient moments or are all off screen. She's hardly to what you could describe as approachable.

The villains will simply have to be dumber and unluckier than she is for her to step on them. The OG host's reputation was bad enough to make her seem like as if she's changed for the better as well.
A neglectful mother is still worse than a carefree thoughtless one, a cheating wife is still worse than a flirty gaslighting one, and a toothachingly bad actress is still worse than an arrogant biatch with skills.

Generally dislike how she's pitting the child against his own father when, yes, she's not the one at fault for hurting the two, however, she's making the victims of OG host suffer twice just to come out on top as the 'better' person.

Let's not even get started with the plot; everything's a plot convenience and she's got dogsh*t crazy luck and plot armor from the past, present to future. Sense and logic are flat-lining too.
A basic example of that is when MC flashbacks to how she was still a snake in the zoo and how much she had been mistreated.
>Why would zoo keepers give their animals terrible feed unless they want to pay MORE for vet bills or buy a new snake for the habitat? They're just an employee, it'll mean trouble with the superiors if they put the snake at harm or risk out of laziness.
>Why is nobody questioning the lifespan of the 170-year-old snake that's been living there?? She's been prohibited to leave the same location for 170+ yrs by the Demon World Law Enforcement.
>How is she hiding (and charging) a phone in her habitat?
>Proceeds to flashback to mistreatments of all kinds but has a baseline of proud confident charismatic characteristics, where did that come from?? Purely empty-founded confidence for sure.

The kid is easy to please, a mere glance in his direction and he's over the moon, starving for attention yet not daring to ever ask for more, he mothers her more than she mothers him. A... 5 year old...? Yeah, right. He's even described to be the MC's dog. Treating her like his great grand ancestor who's going to fall over with a small gust of wind and orders his father around like a maid servant to serve MC.
From major to smaller details, nothing's aligning, it's all a terrible mess.

More than a story about raising the child of the ML, it should be something like everybody loves me and can't help but be brain-dead fans of my vain ass.

Such a shame for the good translation.

This story makes my head ache.

The Female Lead is too s*upid! The author wrote it as naive but for me she's s*upid.

The first chapters are bearable until she slowly change.

She can still think at the earlier chapters... what happened!

I only read until now because of the Male Lead... and the little bun.

Well for those looking to read this story. It’s just an extremely funny story where the FL was a snake in her previous life and became a human when she transmigrated. The male lead is a tsundere and the child is extremely cute. But one of the bad pints abt this novel for me is the way that everyone praises her like sometimes I have to skip over many paragraphs because most of them are just abt how pretty and talented the female lead and you can pretty much summarize... more>> it as the FL has pretty WHITE skin and beautiful figure and extremely attractive faceu that’s all. It’s an extremely fluffy story and I highly recommend this if you are looking for a story filled with fluff, comedy, an op FL and a dash of romance. :)) <<less

Initially I found this novel very entertaining. However as the story went, FL didn't grow at all. Her character as well as the others felt flat and monotonous.

If I encounter this kind of person in real life, no matter how the inside story was, based on her explanation alone, each and every great acting that she done was based on others misunderstanding of her interpretation. However even knowing so, other still think that she's superb (?!).

If I were to be her opponent, who trying so hard being a good actor... more>> but set aside because of her, I'd become a villain too.

The way she acted was undermining the real story behind the intended character but somehow people still fell for her.

It's unscientific. Thus I gave this novel generous rating 7 just for the comedy. <<less

This is honestly not a series to be reviewed critically, but savoured with a warm smile. Going into it, I was sick of showbiz novels with kids or pets thrown in for cuteness points. The female MC here... She came out of the syllabus.

A reincarnated snake spirit in a villainess game setting. She was supposed to be a cannon fodder but guess what? She is actually just shameless! She cares for her baby and her husband... Could continue to pamper her.

The best thing about this is the focus on the... more>> acting part of the showbiz, rather than the brainless fans on social media. They are still a big part of it, and that is why I am only rating this a 4. But for what is worth, thoroughly enjoyable scenes of acting, where her inspiration is derived from her past life... That is the jackpot!

The male lead suspects her, and for good reason. But he starts to change his opinion after seeing her affection towards their son. And their son... It is a hit or miss. The lil bun moe card is played hard, and he is cute just by being a baby. Sometimes it feels crass, while other times you simply won't think with your mind. This is just a rollercoaster ride!

I am on c183 as per the TL indexing, and while I am not very happy about this method, at least the updates are fairly regular. Just for the few bubbly and entertaining aspect of this series with minimal need for face slapping, this is Mango approved. <<less

I have to drop this novel because I feel like in the latest chapters I am forcing myself to read it, it became too predictable.

The unbelievably lucky FL is just too absurd, you can even say that her character is just too op so I do now find her not interesting.

It is a slice of life story with no intelligent plots, filled with 2d villains and and the hero always win mentality. So if you just want to read something to waste time and not get emotionally involved this might... more>> suit your taste <<less

such a cute and heartwarming story. Enjoyed it greatly.

FL is such a foodie and a crack head, as a 200 years old snake how could she be so naïve and child like. But I loved her in that way. Very warm story and ML was good to her. Also the little bun, aww he is such a cutie. He is little angel. And I'm so happy that

they welcomed another little bun, and ML spoiling his daughter was hilarious

This is a funny and fluffy story I have to give it that, I like this type of cute story with child care but the logic here is totally turned off, many things may miss up your brain if you are looking for a story with logical settings and natural plot development

Spoiler

The MC was a snake in the zoo and have a smartphone used to watch drama and surf the net.

Without any acting experience she beats everyone even the 1st line actors from the first time she starts

The way the MC used to solve the incident with the film emperor is d*mp but people believed it

The story feels off in some other places but I just turn a blind and continue to read (for now).

The little bun is cute but I somehow feel sorry for the ML, the ungrateful little bun abandons him for his mother without looking back after all he did for him in the past 5 years

[collapse]

Even with the change in settings and dialogues the story is basically parts of ones I read before but it is still funny to read.

I'll give a rate after I finish the novel or drop it later <<less

Who knew that I could easily accept that the FL was a snake in her previous life hahaha

Author is so funny and witty! I love the chemistry between the FL and ML and with their little baby bun, too! Such a tooth-achingly-sweet family 🥰🥰

I really like the plot where the FL's road to being a top actress is detailed in this story. I love cultivation stories but instead of power it's her acting skills. Her inner monolgues and the inspiration where she gets her... more>> acting is just HILARIOUS! BELIVE ME!!!
