Transmigrating Into The Male Lead’s Villainess Older Sister

Siyu transmigrated into a manhua and became the male lead’s half-sister. The sister had a sickly fragile body, one that couldn’t even withstand a gust of wind. It’s a pity that her heart was so vicious.

Over and over, she tried to kill the male and female lead. Until finally she was hated by all, deserted by everyone close, cursed by people, and died miserably alone in the rain one night.

Now the question was: how could she stay alive in peace as a sickly beautiful lady who always vomits blood for no reason and could drop dead at any time?

Fortunately, Siyu soon discovered that she could see another person’s luck. So, as long as other people around her had better luck than hers, she could rely on their blessings to extend her life.

As for her… Siyu looked into the mirror. No matter how she looked at it, the person in the mirror looked like she would die early. It’s not an exaggeration. If you’re talking about bad luck, then everyone else was tr*sh.

The wave was stable; no matter how crazy she played, she wouldn’t die! (~ ̄▽ ̄)~

Until she came across a great god who was feared by everybody—

Siyu: “Don’t, don’t come near me QAQ”

Fifth Master Lu smiled gently whilst the beads on his hand were shattered into pieces, “Run away once more, and I’ll break your leg.”

I love the siblings interaction and netizens' reaction.

What I dislike is the ML. He is too overbearing, too controlling and acted as if Siyu is his toy that should accept whatever he does to her. He even controls what she should wear!

The story is a typical chinese face slapping romance type, but the biggest issue with the novel is that it fails on both fronts with in my opinion very poor romance and the parts where the villain falls that are suppose to be satisfying instead leave me disliking the main cast.

There is also other things like how the author treats autism, domestic violence, and abusive behavior that just really rubs me the wrong way, and while these usually in chinese novels are just distasteful I can ignore it knowing there... more>> is a cultural difference but with this novel they are harder to ignore and the points that are suppose to make up for that fail.

The only good thing about this book is the relationship between the female lead and her half-brother. It's the sole (big) thing that I think this novel has done well, but even that I think is getting ruined by the rest of the story. (Note: Both female lead and half-brother's characters were done well, its mainly their interaction with the other core characters thats just awful)

Details:
Spoiler

So to begin one of the minor things that just felt yucky to read.

  • The author has multiple parts where they reference autism like its this horrible disease that needs to be pitied and cured. While this might be a cultural difference it at least shows to me the author has very little understanding about autism itself and it overall just feels very insensitive and poorly done. (And it doesn't even add anything to the story, I'm not even sure why they added it. The sole thing making the character autistic did was have the female lead write a comic about autism that was very misinformed, and changed nothing plot wise so overall I think it just hurt the novel)

Now, with that out of way the rest of the things that are more minor but still rub me the wrong way are a part of the following rant so without a further a due

How the male lead treats the female lead
To begin with the romance between the male lead and female lead is toxic to say the bare minimum. The male lead literally forces her against her will to go with him when they first meet and it just goes downhill from there. There is just a ton of very toxic and disturbing behavior that shows the male lead doesn't even treat her like a person, and he forces his will on her in a way that just makes him incredibly unlikeable. I think the author was going for a domineering CEO type, but the way this one is done just makes it feel horrible to read. The female lead is literally terrified of him for quite a while and only stops being fearful of him after a plot caused to target him had her nearly die to a fire and he randomly appeared to save her. (I'm not even going to get into some of the massive plot holes in this series, like why or how he was here for this scene to save her)
Anyway, my overall point is just that the way he treats her makes him incredibly unlikeable. I ignored it for the beginning since the author sprinkled in some things hinting that the ML has problems and the FL helps, but while that might become relevant later it still doesn't change that for over 50% of the book the male lead is someone that I have negative feelings for and I actively wish that the female lead doesn't get with him.

This pretty much ruins the romance aspect of the novel for me, its not a relationship where I will feel happy if they get together because f*ck the male lead, he really does not deserve to be near the female lead.

Faceslapping gone wrong

So now we get to the part of the novel that made me drop it. The story does your typical build-up of things that really make you want to watch the mother get faceslapped, and it succeeded with this part. I thought I was fully ready to enjoy the payoff but instead it leaves me pitying the character I'm suppose to hate, while turning the dislike I had for the male lead into despising him.

*The following is for people who are reading this review but not yet to this point, so they have context. If you have read then you should skip:
The mother is built up to be hated by having her abandon the female lead as a child after resenting her due to her illness. The mother wanted to be rich and so she took everything of value and left her sick daughter and the managed to marry a successful guy named Ji something and managed to have a child, half-brother, with him. Later when she found her daughter is still alive and is interacting with her new son she tries to force her to leave by a mixture of threats, trying to force her out of a project, and thats pretty much it.

So, this stuff does make her unlikable, I'm not disagreeing with that, but with how the author went about it I instead pity her when its suppose to be a satisfying payoff for her actions.

The mother calls female lead (and half-brother goes along) to her house in order to essentially threaten her into not being near Half-brother out of fear that her hidden kid will be revealed to her new husband (This is important) and the male lead who had people following the female lead (without her explicit consent) was informed of her getting in the car and asked her where she was going, to which female lead replied with "made to honor my mother"

Now, while the mother is obviously a sh*t person all she has actually done is threaten the female lead with blocking her from the entertainment industry if she doesn't distance herself from half-brother. Yeah, a bad thing but this is very very important to remember. This is how far she has gone.

The male leads response to this is to respond back saying that he will make the mother have to honor him and comes to "pick her up". (As an extra note, earlier the female lead told him that she would deal with her problems herself, so he is already overstepping in this regard and showing that he doesn't respect her at all)
It starts up like you would expect for a normal thing, where both the Husband and Mother are forced to wonder why this big shot is coming to their house.

When male lead arrives he then tells the couple that they are going to rip out every flower in their garden, and then threatens them at gunpoint to force them to do this. After the finish they are then informed that they need to plant weeds across the whole garden and when the Mother says she cant a bullet is fired near her. With every time they stop the Husbands company takes a hit in its price.

The issue is just the proportions are way too off. While I did hate the Mother character, having her be forced at gunpoint to do hard labor feels way too extreme. Its not satisfying to read, and it instead turns a hated character into someone to be pitied. But, at least with her you can give the excuse of she was indirectly trying to cause her daughter to die so she deserved this.

The person I feel is most unfortunate (originally) is the Husband. So from his perspective he married a girl who he knocked up (never explains how, but there is a line about how he can't have more children) and while the novel did say that he is a bad father who spends all of his time at work rather than caring for his son, thats all we have of him so far.

Then he randomly is forced by a powerful person to pull flowers out of his garden at gunpoint while having all of his hard work be drained anytime he stops.

This guy literally does NOT know that his wife has a hidden sick daughter who was abandoned, has very little to do with the female lead (Gave the ok after his wife lied to him about Female leads relationship with Half-Brother) and then is forced into this situation. While it is somewhat implied that he wouldn't be welcoming of female lead that is beyond the point for this.

Then after the forced labor without even knowing whats going on his big project is then destroyed because the female lead doesn't look happy after the male leads actions. Now, this pity I have for him is then reduced afterward when he commits domestic violence and beats his wife, but my point still stands.

Theres even more to this, like the half-brother in this situation, but its really hard to articulate how bad this feels to read. Its very difficult for me to actually write in words how this novel feels to read, because before this scene and ignoring the relationship between male and female lead the story was good for the most part which only makes this such more of an aggregating thing. Its different from a bad novel where the author doesn't know how to write, its a bad novel because I start to get invested and then it becomes a huge letdown. The build-up of emotion for the climax is ruined because it doesn't feel satisfying to read about the Mother, it feels disturbing. I can't have any anticipation for the romance because I actively hope it fails, the male lead is so toxic and horrible that I don't want him to succeed.

tl;dr: Male lead is horrible to the point where it ruins everything in the novel.

The usual plot with cliche and not much character development, this one feels more bland and stilted flow than others.

The usual MC suddenly liked by all, original kind and smart FL suddenly has her brain go offline and become villainous, super OP ML with no clear plot as to how he is so OP, liked MC for no reason and starts spending money on her like crazy (here it's even more absurd than 'oh she is different so I will notice her', no reason!!). He comes online, stands and throws... more>> his aura around, bullies MC with pampering hidden in eyes (!?) for no reason, goes offline. No dialogue between them, no pov from his end, no thoughts apart from oh face slap that cannon fodder, he bullied this FL who is total stranger to me, when I usually don't look at girls at all.

Bit meh.

Some good points, esp if new to the genre. MCs sis-con brother is pure and cute, FLs original drawings are somewhat nice. May be later chapters has some character development. <<less

It is a really bland novel tbh. Had a good start but the plot just went out after a few chapters just some unsatisfying faceslaps, acting job stuff and her webtoons. MC's aura seeing ability was just forgotten after one incident. That had so much potential but the author just dumps it.

Also MC's strength and determination went out the window after meeting ML and she became the typical Mary-sue FL.

And ML is so Overbearing that I hated it. No character growth whatsoever.

The brother was the only good character but soon... more>> gets forgotten by the author later on. And God knows what happened to the Og FL. Making her so dumb was totally uncalled for lol.

Just a single word for this novel- Meh. <<less

It is a 4.5 for me. It would have been 5 if not for the rather questionable, 2-D personality of the male lead.

This is a really fluffy story, with just a little dog blood and a bit of Mary Sueness. However, it is a very enjoyable light read. I strongly support the brother and sister CP. Their interaction is so cute, I couldn't help but be ... more>>

This is a book that can be read for fun without expecting much from it but the brother-sister pair will leave you smiling. Though I firmly believe that the scenes with the ML should have been reduced and more brother and sister scenes should have been included. <<less

It's lighthearted and funny, full of fluffs and although there's schemes by the FL's mother and Xu Qingwan, it didn't really affect the FL that much since those schemes are not high class. Btw, instead of the ML and FL, my favorite is that silly little brother, Ji Lin. He's just waaaay too cute and a total fan boy of his sister. Anyway, I just felt that the ending is kinda rushed and I'm little dissatisfied with that. I think that the story can still be stretch a little more... more>> like for example,
Spoiler

where the hell does Xu Qingwan went? She just disappeared? Is there any explanation for Zhou Siyu's transmigration to her own novel? How about Lu Yuanhe's bad luck? Also, I think Zhou Siyu's ability to see one's luck isn't utilized very well aside from Beibei and Tiantian's case. More importantly, I actually like it more of Zhou Siyu stay a little bit more in the entertainment industry. But I think the author decided to end the story already so she tie some of the loose ends. What a pity.

. Anyway, 8.5/10. Everything's good and fun, just that the ending is kinda rushed. <<less

For an embedded narrative story like this one, you can excuse the flawed/non-existent logic, bogus physics, and extreme behavior for the most part because what didn't make sense in the first place wouldn't make any more sense later. So to a certain degree, it's tolerable because it's nicely written (and translated).
Trigger warning: extreme stalker behavior
Spoiler

Your usual -keeping tabs on the person you're interested in all the time- tendencies aside, everything else is pointing to an excessive stalker.
Will hurt others if he deems she got too close to them and invoked his wrath and jealousy. He thinks MC's is being shy and coy and needs 'conditioning/correcting/educating' when she shows signs of rejection #IcanFixHer. The typical mu*derous stalker coding of -if I can't have her, nobody can and I'm already planning our entire future together with her as my perfectly conditioned wife-. Is so narcissistic, doesn't believe she wouldn't love him and she WILL HAVE TO after whatever he does to her. Even if she doesn't truly love him, that's fine as well, he still has enough means to keep her by his side. Her opinion needs to be aligned with his whimsical moods. He's completely fine with hurting her too, chokes half to death on the regular, and tells her she'll get used to it because he wants them to sleep in a bed together.

[collapse]

The deal-breaker was the enforced romance. Not sure why the author thought adding romance would be a great idea with a premise like this one.
ML goes after MC because she could dispel his physical discomfort (not sexually).
She can either, A. Meekly comply or, B. Be forced by a bunch of men in black into shady lowkey black vehicles according to his whims.
The ML is human garbage. A typical modern emperor type that leans more strongly towards dictatorship. A bug, an error, 404, that doesn't compute in any sense.
Funnily, in the first scene of his appearance, ML sounded more of a 70-year-old clan elder than a handsome young man of MC's generation.
If you're being overly generous, you can call it 'mysterious' but as a realist, the only description one could have is: otiose.
His main selling points: boundless wealth, revered influence, and absolute power.
If you'd delete this character and insert this power into ogML and make it a purely fluffy comedic family caring relationship, it would be at least a 4.5 star.
He goes off breaking laws more frequently than cannon fodders have done in their first and second life combined in less than a weekend.

Feelin' cute, gonna end your career, your life, and the life of your entire family.

He doesn't have a concept of human rights, social norms, morals, and mutual consent. In that aspect, setting the story in ancient times would've made him more reasonable and tolerable (ancient norms BS, no modern expectancies y'know).

The MC falls in love with him eventually due to the suspension bridge effect and Stockholm syndrome. It also happened from 0-100, and no steps taken, catapult-launched into romance. He behaves slightly better, but still on a scale of 1-10 being normal, a 50 down to 35. The fact that they have 0 chemistry doesn't help.
Spoiler

I hate how the author made supporting leads go brain dead way more than they already are to share the burden for ML so he won't seem as bad as he is. It was stated in the novel that ML would've gone ahead and done something forceful or hateful again if those people hadn't. Pretty pathetic attempt at whitewashing this ML.

[collapse]

Cannon fodders acted like lunatics high on all kinds of drugs ramming their heads against concrete walls. The OG storyline was derailed long ago, but at least the half-sibling relationship between MC and ogML was adorable.
Spoiler

ogFL that was reborn was more immature than before.
If it was a transmigrator, you could still explain it away, but for someone who lived now one and a half of a lifetime, she acts way too inconsistently regardless of her now-evil nature. Her plots have enough weak spots for countering and after getting defeated over and over again, she seems to have gotten addicted to the feeling and kept throwing herself down pits.

The story idea and the setting are both very interesting and quite unique. Unfortunately, all the characters, including the FL, are psychos, lunatics or both. So the content, though mostly funny, can get extremely annoying at times. Granted, the setting is a world inside a particularly heavy dog blood manhua, where the FL, being the original author transmigrates into. So this over the top s*upidity of the protagonists is strictly not even wrong in the sense of the world setting. It's only that I'm not that much into dog blood... more>> settings myself. Speaking of the FL, I'm rather conflicted. On one hand she is an overachiever and can stand her ground in most cases. On the other hand, she is too meek from time to time, especially towards her overbearing boyfriend. Also something I don't like. Two other weak points are the isekai aspect which is never completely explained and the conclusion of the story which kind of fades out and leaves a lot of plot threads and world background unresolved.

Due to all these reasons it's only worth three stars for me. But if you are a fan of dog blood drama, it should be easily four stars for you. <<less

It started off pretty good and kept me invested but as the chapters kept going on, it kept going downhill. The plot is really bland. Not a lot of drama or action. Mainly just the life of the MC with a few bumps along the way.

I had high expectations cuz the name of the Novel sounded pretty interesting but then it became really boring.

The ending also felt rushed and weird. I don't even get how the MC went from "omg I can't breath when I'm next to him due to... more>> his bad luck" to "I love him". It felt forced.

The things I like the most in this novel are interaction between MC and his brother (ori ML) and the fans. So funny and cute.

But, I'm stress when ML appeared, maybe because there are tag yandere but its not really the worst. Just when he appeared I always think why he threat MC like that and etc, it is like dictator. Well, it is yandere.

The ending is like not ending, of course, they being a couple but when the ending like that, really? Already end?

Well, my suggestion you can read... more>> with a strong willpower. It is really not a bad story if you can ignore the ending and that yandere ML (he often appear and disappear in a little time, thats why I can continued read till the end). <<less

From the summary I knew this would be a black-bellied forced pampering, but since I saw the comment about how ML is actually not THAT bad, I decided to give it a try.

As I guessed, ML here is really not my type, but what angered me even more is author's bias towards FL. Sure, when others do that, it's 'using improper means' and 'going through the back-door', but when she at every turn makes it obvious she's backed up by someone, it's suddenly alright to have a backing! She doesn't... more>> use it to get a role, she only uses it so people wouldn't bully her out of the industry. Hypocrite much, hm??

Honestly, if just ML was bad, I maybe would suffered through the dog food scenes to read more about siblings' relationship—I love their dynamic; but if there's anything I dislike more that cold-blooded domineering bigots, it's author's blatant whitening of their Female Leads. Yuck!

If you're riding on your future hubby's coattails, at least be honest enough to straightforwardly admit it. <<less

Sure he provided her with meds and work opportunities but that seemed more like it had to do with his control issues. It wasn't that romantic just seemed convenient if anything. As for ML MC dynamic.. So so? Lol

If you don't like overbearing, and possesive MLs then this isn't for you. I personally love this kind of character in fiction, but not IRL, so to each and everyone lol.
