Transmigrating as the Supporting Male Lead’s Sweetheart

Yan Yan transmigrated into a novel and became the biggest villain in the book.

The villain originally thought she was the long lost noble daughter of the Ming Family. Upon returning to the Ming Family, she wholeheartedly wanted to eliminate her little uncle to inherit the family property. But before she could eliminate her little uncle, the real noble daughter returned. As a result, the villain was swept out of the house and ruthlessly killed by the little uncle.

On the day Yan Yan transmigrated as the villain, she swore she would definitely not covet Little Uncle’s family property, definitely not go against Little Uncle’s wishes, and definitely not hinder Little Uncle from chasing the female protagonist!

Preserving her little life, she found an opportunity to inform Little Uncle, “Actually, I am not the real Miss Ming.”

Little Uncle pulled on his tie when he heard her words and gave her a meaningful smile: “Really? That’s great.”

Yan Yan: ??????

Can someone explain to her what this means?

Absolute tr*sh that you should not read.

MC is a scumbag woman actively enjoying all the benefits of being the niece of the ML (she is not actually blood related), but refusing to tell the ML the truth even after she falls in love with him.

Her excuse is: “Oh no he might throw me out!”

... more>> And that’s entirely justified lol. She’s a fake! Did she ever think even once that she doesn’t deserve any of the housing and tons of money put in?

MC feels slightly guilty but then is like “nah I’ll get him a car and it’s all fine.”

Seriously, she’s a disgusting woman =_=.

As a vicious woman, she doesn’t even think to do a blood test or provide the poor ML with evidence, rather thinking that the ML should be into in*est oh and also into barely legal 18 year old girls as a 26 year old.

The ML is really pitiful this time.

It’s baffling and the author is playing up the in*estuous feelings here to the point that the ML uncle guy gets a psychologist to help him, the poor man.

I don’t think I’ve explained it well enough above, but the MC is really a scumbag in her interactions with the ML. It’s a terrible romance and the MC is a terrible person.

Don’t read -3mil/10. <<less

It was a nice story and did have loopholes but if you ignore the details it's a pleasant read.

  • MC transmigrates into a person with ill reputation, bad grades, abusive family and no skills and talents.
  • She was then taken in by ML as a niece and she didn't refuse or reveal the truth as she had nowhere else to go.
  • She planned to confess the truth and payback all favours after she gains her foothold.
  • Eventually she discovers she loves him and decides to actively confess. But her confession is based on the fact that she knows he has affection for ger and won't easily disregard it.
  • But ML who has been struggling with his love with hos blood related niece and seeking psychological treatment refuses to believe ber who says that she's not his og niece. He has been restraining himself hard to not commit taboos
  • Later the truth is revealed and they develop their relationship further.
What baffles me is why Tang Tang who is supposed to have graduated in finance and management has no thought of taking care of her own money and is wilful till she loses it all. That's moronic.

So if you're rich please instill some values, common sense and ethics in your children before letting them out of the door.

TLDR: It's readable and enjoyable but with enough problems that it only rates a 3/5

The upside the story moves along at a pretty brisk pace. The Mary Sue MC isn't too much. The ML isn't an I Win Button and the side characters are interesting. Kept me interested till the the end.

The downside, there's too many tropes most that aren't done well. There's multiple transmigrators, entertainment industry, domineering CEO, multiple Cinderella stories, highschool drama, wealthy family fighting for property, lost and found child, real child vs fake child, game... more>> shows, angry internet people. There's so much that just gets shrift and gets waved away while other parts get bloated with endless description.

Bottom line, the novel would have been much better if the author focused and cut half the chapters <<less

At first, the story telling is quite confusing but I read using MTL so.... might be due to that. In the end, I rated it 3.5 stars because of plot loopholes/ confusion and overall outlook of the story.

The MC is basically her own golden finger because the book she transmigrated to is made by her fan. The story absolutely revolves around her with some extra character developments. ... more>>
Spoiler

Now this confused me a bit because if the MC transmigrated into the body of the villain instead of the protagonist, then where did the book Yan Yan went to? Then who is the person living inside Yan Yan? Why does she act like the Tang Tang inside the book although it is mentioned that she is supposed to be a business woman in her original life? But thankfully, this was answered by the end of the story.

Overall, I am willing to change my rating once the full translation is done. I think there is room for improvement and right now, I actually like this story because of the transmigration genre. <<less

Though I haven't read extra chapters, I really really like this💘, love this💗👏.

ML is also damn cute, considerate and possessive 🤧👍.

I don't know why I dissatisfy some points of the plot just a little bit. 🤔 I feel there is just a few plot about MC's carrier processes

Although I feel this is not one of the best (transmigration +entertainment circle) novels for me, whatever this is still really great to me😚. Whoever like or not, I like this😇.

BEWARE:

Spoiler

It is indeed true that this entire story will clash with someone's moral and ethics. As stated by few reviews that the MC took advantage of the ML at the beginning because she didn't reveal her true identity of not being the actual Ming's lost-found daughter. However, for me as a reader I felt that I would have done the same if I were in her shoes, cause she transmigrated at a very delicate and difficult stage of the actual body. In which her reputation were already plummeted in front of the public as an entertainer due to the actual body owner actions. Moreover, she didn't have a stable house or family (her stepmother refuse to pay her the actual 40% will's money and never even mentioned it to her. Furthermore, she even resorted to use physical and mental abuse on the original owner after her stepfather's death at the age of 7, & stepsister who was the real instigator for the real owner to accept the talent show in the first place) to support her. Nevermind finding a job or similar to that because the original owner didn't even completed her high school days. So, to be safe and sound she took the first boat that sail to her besides she was already planning to leave after gaining a real footing in the entertainment industry. You have to also understand that the MC real talents lies as an actor who have worked in the entertainment industry more than seven years since she was 18 years old in the original world. While planning to complete directorship course as well to expand her career horizons within the industry.
Now let's move on to the ML, who's in my opinion is good and well-matched with MC. As there was nothing exceptional or nothing dull about him I saw as a character. Whereas, MC was a straightforward while he was your typical Chinese male ceo with cold exterior less talkative personality and only gets softened with the MC after getting acquainted with her. Let me clear something about them first, which is it was the ML who started to fall for the MC first, as she only wanted to clear the disgust and unclean reputation infront of the ML for her because of the original body actions. And for only that matter she took the initiative to please the ML with her small actions such as making coffee and all. Yet after living with him for a while she also started to feel that he's the only one in this world with similar situation as her (from the original world to this new transmigration world) with no actual relatives to rely on. That's why she took a day of during her hectic schedule of variety show to spend quality time with him for the new year occasion. Since then the feelings for her gradually grew in my opinion, as never have someone did something so homely thing for him. This is why after acknowledging his desires he decided to take the psychological treatment route to clear his concise of such unhealthy thoughts for a blood related person.
As the story progress, the MC also didn't took much time to get her feelings together that's when she decided to come clean with everything. Even though she thought she might be thrown out of the house (it was meant as to never get a chance with him again if that happens and not for having no food or house type like thoughts) but before she confessed she did told him that there's no blood tie between them, yet he still refused to believe. And still continues to say that she's child and what not, even going further to send his own psychiatrist to help her as well but our MC is smart and handled that thing smoothly as well like the rest of troubles that comes her way.

[collapse]

The entire story and plot is overall okay and very much recommended to read to pass the time, yes it was very easy to dislike the MC if it wasn't for the author to structure her character in a way that still felt likable to me (for eg:
Spoiler

MC spending her first tv show salary to give the ML car for his birthday because he gave her one as well

[collapse]
) despite her giving the full gold-digger vibe. Because she took things that wasn't meant for her in the first place, however I already explained above why do I think so. What I like is that the MC is calm and collected in every situation, knows when to retreat, speaking her mind and hard-working (because trust me it's real deal as she was already in her life pinnacle before transmigration, and then she'd to go back to the high-school days again to complete her studies for the new body) even having a backer as the ML. So she could repay them back one day, well we all know how everything ended anyway which is HE.

I also found some things confusing due to plot-holes and unexplained scenes, such as
Spoiler

what happened to her 40% will, her stepmother & stepsister, where's the novel actual yan yan and tang tang, or even the real Ming's daughter, etc

[collapse]
. Although they can be overlooked but still. <<less

It's interesting to read reviews and see what other readers focused on (however, I would not put too much faith in 1-star reviews by readers that seem to have a history of leaving only scathing bad reviews). Overall I thought this was actually a refreshing take on the usual trope, in terms of having the FL transmigrate into a story written about HER, but she becomes a villainous cannon fodder and someone else gets her body. She has to repair her reputation and start all over with building her career.... more>> Luckily she's got all her experiences and skills from her original life, and she was a hard worker and decent person.

Spoiler

I was disappointed that she wasn't reunited with her agent from the original life. He was like family to her, and quickly realized that an imposter had taken over.

edit: I thought I already finished everything, but I found and read the extras, and they DO tie up the loose end with her original agent. It also explains where everyone else went - YY from book went into IRL YY (and planned to pursue Bai Chen...), TT from book went into the IRL other transmigrator (forgot her name). She was a super spoiled woman who had always been told that she was the best by her parents, was praised and pursued because her dad was the company boss, and had an inflated sense of her attractiveness as a result. That's why she couldn't handle being YY, she thought she was better than YY, and that her accomplishments were all made up by a PR team.

Honestly, I went in thinking they wouldn’t be too familial and the romance would make sense given that FL is actually older. And it was such a fun read too. FL and ML’s personalities are very good.

However, this is why the romance felt unbelievably unrealistic for their characters because they did treat each other as family. I would have rated higher if the author continued on with them having an familial relationship.

A fluffy, quick read if you try not to break your head over this and quibble over details.

The Good Things:

  1. Enjoyed the dynamics of ML and FL and the developing relationship
  2. The friendship between Mi Yue and FL is so cute
  3. FL is a stable person... there's not much dog blood in this
  4. The twist in the plot is pretty refreshing. (Not considered a spoiler since this is told right at the beginning) It's not about another person transmigrating into a novel, but a person accidentally transmigrating into a fanfic of herself... except she's not herself, but the villain of the fanfic.
The bad things:

  1. There are parts where the author refers to the wrong person? I read this in chinese and got confused too, looks like a genuine typo error on the author's side. 😂
  2. The ending was pretty abrupt but it's not the kind of abrupt that leaves questions, but rather you wanting more
  3. I enjoyed reading it, but I wasn't that invested in the novel's characters or plot. In other words, enjoyable but not amazing/spellbinding.

the FL transmigrating into a villainess or into a novel is very common but transmigrating into a fanfic novel of herself? This is the first time I've read such a plot.

[collapse]

The romance is also not bad but again, not uncommon. But nevertheless, I like how proactive and straight forward the FL is especially concerning her feelings towards the ML. She wasn't stumped with the uncertainties and questions like "what if he doesn't like her once he finds out the truth?" and such. She's a very optimistic and decisive person which I like the most.

Lastly, regarding the supporting characters, I like that all of their endings were mentioned.
Spoiler

The only pity is that there's no extra story about the FL's career towards directing. After all, that's her dream, right? There's also no follow up about the FL's adopted mother and who's really her biological father. Also, how did the ML recognize the wrong one given that his secretary did the DNA test? It doesn't make sense. Was it the other branches of the Ming family? What happened to them anyway?

[collapse]
Nevertheless, everything is good even with those little loose threads.

Overall, it's an 8/10 for me. Although I feel like it deserves a higher rating, given that I've read a lot of similar stories like this that made this story a little predictable and common, I still gave such a rating. But it's not bad, isn't it? <<less

I second Adira's review, even if their last spoiler makes me suspect they have not read the extras yet. The majority of loose ends are left for the extras unlike most novels. Some of the loopholes mentioned in their review are indeed never tied up, at least not directly. I do have a theory on one particular loophole about the stepmother.

Spoiler

I heavily suspect the inheritance evaporated thanks to the mismanagement of the company and the persistence in engaging in a legal battle. The shares lose value if the company goes bankrupt and there are many signs that they have heavily depreciated already by the start of the story. Not to mention that her shareholder status never comes into play despite her being very serious about accepting the responsibility that comes with disproportional gain in other portions of the story. It's very likely that the final outcome was suing for losses after dissolution of the company thanks to the malicious mishandling of inheritance by the stepmother. A win probably have the MC a lump sum of less than 10 million that contributed to purchasing the car (just enough that she did not borrow that entire sum from Mi Yue resolving the funds missing from the final calculation). The story is written from her perspective and that court battle is honestly less important to her than choosing the right gift for her uncle. The author may have forgotten this but it's more likely that this just was not a priority for the narrator considering that there IS a line specifically mentioning she no longer cares about this matter.

Personally, I would have liked to see the sisters perspective when she later grows older and understands her mother mislead her completely in this matter. Aka her regrets/face slap scene. I also wonder whether she was even the real bio daughter considering the difficulty of men to perform when blackout drunk. I'd believe it more if there was mention first of the lady stealing sperm. She was a glorified nanny and it was clear her husband had very little interest in her considering she had to resort to such methods for consummation. Tbh he wronged both his adoptive daughter and his nominal wife by doing this. Hiring a long term auntie would have been a much better choice than marrying a bride only to make her live as a widow. It's not shocking that she held resentment when she was given no sincerity in the relationship, regardless of her ulterior motives. He did not treat her as family but wanted her to treat his daughter as family. That would be hard to achieve even if she was initially sincere after years of bias towards his previous love interest despite getting married.

Tbh, I don't understand her adoptive father well. I would have been heavily suspicious of someone approaching my child with that much enthusiasm, regardless of gender.

[collapse]

The biggest loophole is actually not mentioned at all by other reviews.

Spoiler

The Uncle does not investigate the original 'mistaken' report beyond asking his assistant Jason whether there was chance for error and his assistants' assurance that their biological relation was undeniable. No one with motive to tamper with the medical documents shows signs that they are aware she is a fake niece. That her mother showed up as his brother's lover that day is never disputed to have instead been the real nieces' mother. The 'proof' from the previous timeline is untenable since that Uncle had motive to kick that Tang Tang from the family regardless of true and false. In fact, he hates his brother and is disgusted with his brothers children so the relation being true would only increase his malice towards that Tang Tang. Replacing a big trouble with a docile quiet niece would also remove the protection of bad relatives and satisfy them enough to not interfere with him taking down the 'fake' that finally pressed his bottom line one too many times. They never have another paternity test together after they miss the initial appointment that could have proved it definitively.

The MC makes a joke that proving the other girl to be his niece does not exclude the possibility that his brother had two illegitimate daughters... and she has a point. That means there is a strong possibility that this is a real in*est novel. The main couple is not willing to gamble on that possibility at all so they take the very tenuous possibility that the initial paternity test was a hospital mistake as fact all based on the assumption that there can only be one niece. The 'real' is found so she must be 'fake'. The MC on one hand passes it off as novel logic while on the other she concludes that the parallel world she now lives in is very real. A very clear act of covering the ears to steal the bell on both their parts.

Of course, the possibility that they are right about being completely unrelated is just as real. The author never confirms their relationship either, not really. I am merely pointing out that the logic they base their conclusion on is as ridiculous as the MC jokes and they both know it or it wouldn't be included in their flirting. Even if they are not related, neither is willing to gamble on putting it to a final (paternity) test. Well, or the author just wants to leave it ambiguous. They both seem too responsible to have not done a secret test before deciding to have children, although.. I'm not sure if it would have been a hurdle for them considering what the MC said to the psychologist to justify their relationship on the basis of being Uncle Niece showing her research into the topic.

All this means in the end is that the reader can decide for themselves whether to read this as a simple mistaken identity novel or as an outright in*est novel.

[collapse]

Main Review and Thoughts Overall

I gave 5 stars because it was a fun read despite the loopholes mentioned in other reviews. Some questions do not always require answers. The main cast was well developed and many side characters have a strong sense of story despite not having their entire backgrounds laid out for the readers. The pacing and setup were good which is a big boon. Some editing could have improved this further, but it's good enough to pass as is. The face slaps were there but not too exaggerated. The MC as the narrator simply isn't the type to give villains much of her attention. Time for potential revenge is much better spent tackling some math problems! This is why I agree with that particular review so much. The MC may make some morally questionable decisions that take advantage of the ML, but considering her circumstances and her motivations she is still a very likable character. She has every intent to pay back everything the ML had done for her and honestly the identity of a niece in his book is a big negative initially emotion wise despite the financial generosity.
Spoiler

A car as her first gift may seem like a silly way to compensate, if it weren't for the fact that the first big gift from the ML is also a car. Not to mention that she did not consider sending him a return gift to be returning what she owed in full. She consistently makes plans to increase her value so that she can make more money for this stranger that has taken her in despite prejudice. She enjoys her career so she has selfishness, but returning to her old path is also the quickest way to earn 'enough' to thank him for such a big favor and apologize for the deceit involved by not coming clean day one. I can't hate her for it when even the ML doesn't hate her for it, and he went through some potentially unnecessary emotional struggles strong enough that he had multiple consults with a psychologist. I say potentially unnecessary thanks to his personality. I suspect he may have still sought out a psychologist even if he did know the truth, because her young age was just as big of a concern to him. He is very cautious towards love, aware of their unequal standing, and thorough enough to examine major risk factors such as mistaking interdependence for romance. Despite everything, he fell for her before she could even begin considering scheming after his body love.

[collapse]

In conclusion, it may not be top tier literature. However, my fun reading it was fully worth 5 stars. Do make sure to read the extras for this one or you miss some major parts of the story, such as what happens to the other displaced souls and the establishment of some cute side couples. <<less

So angry😡.. Chapter 101 is hanging! I'm waiting for the translated version.

Tha idea is nice, an actress whom transmigrated into fan fiction written by her fan. However, the hanging part is

1. What happened to her inheritance? It was handle by her uncle's lawyer but no follow up.

... more>> 2. Her stepmother & stepsister ending

3. Her (Yan Yan) agent Lu Ming after fall out with Taxing Boss, I hope they (LM & TT) reconnect

4. MSY was so sure that TT is his niece because he DID blood test, so why is the blood test state there is family relation? This mystery is not solved. MSY also never persue this case. So weird..

5. At the start of the novel, TT is indeed in distress but after she stay in Ming's house, she should at least try to find the way to return to the real world. But, unfortunately she is too relax/adapt. Haish, I gonna try to find the Extra maybe the answer is there.

Overall, 👍 nice. I really like the idea transmigrated into your own fanfiction but into someone else body. <<less

However, thankfully author somehow manage to dodge this by saying the world is a fan fiction of MC and MC possessed the supporting character- well until near the end, as uncomfortable with the ending.

Another thing to note is that if you do not like any implementation of in*est and especially age gap- this is NOT for you. I guess this counts as age difference and in*est kink/play? "Tang Tang" is 9 years younger than Ming Shaoyan (18 and 27) and his "niece", but Yan Yan was originally only a couple years younger than him and Tang Tang is actually not blood related to him.

It sorta reminds me of Greetings Ninth Uncle, which plays around with the temptation of in*est and age difference but it's actually not real.

[collapse]

The premise is unique but can get really confusing.

Spoiler

Yan Yan, the FL, is a popular, highly skilled actor who transmigrates into an RPF ship fic about herself and another popular younger singer. However, rather than transmigrating into herself, she transmigrates into the fic's OC villainess, Tang Tang.

Tang Tang's purpose in the fic is to be the annoying 2nd FL who pursues the fic's ML and tries to sabotage fic!Yan Yan, but she also has her own extremely dogblood background. First, her mother got pregnant from an unknown man, and left her (TT) with her childhood sweetheart before committing su*cide. Then, her adoptive father marries and has a child with an employee from his company, before dying from cancer when TT was around 7. Her adoptive stepmother reveals her true colors as a bit*h and both her and her daughter treat her badly. Then later on she gets mistakenly claimed as the niece of Ming Shaoyan, one of the fic's side MLs, who despises her and her "father". Dumb Tang Tang gets tricked by the rest of the Ming clan into trying to take down her uncle. She finally loses her life when MSY finds out she's not his real niece, and is implied to have organized for Tang Tang to get into a drunken car accident by tampering with her car's breaks.

Yan Yan, now Tang Tang, transmigrates at the point where fanfic!TT is at rock bottom and is just about to be summoned by Ming Shaoyan for the first time. She's now the most hated female celebrity, but even worse, someone else has transmigrated into fanfic!Yan Yan, a girlfriend fan of the young singer who knows nothing about acting but is determined to finally be together with her idol. Yan Yan as Tang Tang has to somehow reverse her fate while also dealing with the discomfort of not only being her own "enemy" but watching her enemy destroy everything about "Yan Yan".

[collapse]

I thought the premise for this story was really interesting, and the FL is pretty good. She's more cunning than the usual transmigrated FL, and she doesn't just say she's a good actor, she also shows it in her normal interactions. She's a bit too calm and levelheaded about the whole suddenly transmigrated thing, but she spares no time and immediately starts thinking of how to survive in her new life.

The couple interactions in this one feel refreshingly more equal compared to Guide To Raising the Sick Villain. While the FL is wary of the ML, she's more proactive and confident both with her own issues and with dealing with the ML. The "cold CEO" ML is a bit of an ass, but he's not scum material, and I do agree with how he treats the FL considering he only knows fanfic!Tang Tang, who tbh is pitiable but easy to hate.

I finished the TL chapters and now I'm going to MTL, so I'll be back to edit my review after I'm done but for now I think this deserves 5 stars. <<less

to be honest, ML realized his feelings much earlier compared to FL. And it's funny that the first thing he did was to call a psychologist during that time. I feel that he really appreciates FL and tries to fix his 'mental illness' lol

Spoiler

also, since FL knows the real story, she confesses first. And ML did the same, which is to call a psychologist for her ahahahha

for real, I didnt image that FL transmigrated into the novel where the heroine is herself yet somehow she transmigrated into the SFL instead. Also this novel is made by her fans so no wonder all the things described for the heroine's characteristics, our FL can do it too since basically it is her. When I read this, it's quite novel for me <<less

I had high expectations for this novel, because I read another of the author's books but I feel that edta is a bit behind "Raise a sick villain" I'm not saying it's wrong, I liked it a lot but it was based more on how the FL increased its popularity and not so much in its relationship with the ml, I expected more attachment from both protagonists, but it was fine
