“Dear….. ”

“Dear one, the reward this time is ‘the understanding of love’! ‘From now on, I will never worry about my husband misunderstanding me!’”

Min Xingchuan, who has always been indifferent, arrogant and cold, woke up to find that his marriage partner always come with a barrage of bullet screen on top of his head.

“When will my husband get divorced?”

“f*ck, this man’s male dog’s waist is amazing!”

“Tsk tsk, plastic husband is so good-looking, I think…”

Min Xingchuan finally couldn’t bear it, and stepped forward to hug him: “Oh? What do you want just be direct, is it fun to YY all the time?”

Open live broadcast websites, Taobao websites, video websites, take-out platforms, live broadcast commodity… Experiencing the joy of being on the pinnacle of life.

MinXingchuan: “Does Madam know wrong already?”

Subordinate: “Chief Min… Madam is already the richest man in the world!”

Shen Ran: I am not a pioneer in the industry, I am just a porter of cultural technology…

Finally finish MTL this.

Overall it's 4. I start skim read some uninteresting chapters about MC career growth.

In summary, this is more career oriented and romance is only a bonus book (iirc the MC never confess or develop love to ML, he just grows tolerance when ML is cured of his PTSD n starts showing love?)

... more>> The system kinds of disappear midway when MC begin to succeed in his career n somehow pops out again in the final arc when he solves out the villain.

The reason I can't give 5 stars is because the big boss villain is pretty dull.

Spoiler

This villain is pretty much reborn, but when MC has grown into a giant figure in business world, how can he doesn't know? This MC is his enemy in both life n villain just follows the plot of his past life n doesn't realize the change in his enemy?

I feel so lied to. The MC is not MC at all, this book is all about Qi Shao yang. He reads more like the MC than our actual MC. True, our MC has the system and mission, but nothing happens to him, he just progresses his missions and facilitate other characters storyline while progressing none of his. All the others storyline and emotional line happens to other characters esp qi Shao yang. We will read about qi Shao yang getting pregnant, fight, reconcile, give birth, succeed in career, and... more>> finally got married.

Our MC doesn't have the priveledge of good emotional writing from author.

Seriously, every single chapters after several initial chapters will have Qi Shao yang, or his development, or his dram: Our MC is just soy sauce added by author.

I am so annoyed. I want to read about our MC, but the storyline keeps on being derailed by qi Shao yang story. Really disappointed. <<less

I’ve only read a couple of this author’s works, but I really love the ensemble feel of them. The writer does such a great job of making all the side characters live and breathe and have their own lives and motivations.

This was kind of slice of life ish. It basically focuses on MC building his company and playing with ML. Once the ML can see the MC’s true thoughts, it’s just them playing with each other and it’s sweet and funny.

I disagree with the reviewer who said it reads like... more>> one of the MC’s friends is the protagonist. Stories aren’t cookie cutter, despite what many of the novels that end up translated on this would have you believe. This isn’t some crap stallion novel where all the characters exist for the protagonist. The fact that they all have their own lives and motivations and stories makes the world feel so much more real. The way all the characters are intertwined in this is actually pretty cool. Is there a lot of scene time given to subplots centered around secondary characters? Yes. But it never felt too much.

Of course, if you only want to read about the romance of two characters and nothing else, this wouldn’t really be a good fit for you. But if you just want to read a good story with fleshed out characters with romance and all sorts of other feelings thrown in, then you’ll be happy.

It’s not classic literature by any stretch, but I liked it enough to start reading untranslated stories by the author.

Sweet, fluffy, no knives, silly/fun misunderstandings followed by no misunderstandings. No abuse here. <<less

The main story revolves around how MC received a "prize" after death that allowed him (with the guidance of a higher-power 'system') to experience life at its peak. Although this prize is something he has to work for, he understands that there is no such thing as a free lunch in the world and he grits through the challenges to achieve his ultimate mission. The system explains that peak life is reached when one gains an abundance of wealth, but is monetary fortune really the epitome of life? Maybe not.... more>> Turns out, another challenge MC had to deal with was the fact that his new identity came with a pre-packed husband, and his new body is one that could bear children. He doesn't like both initially, but the story progresses to show how he slowly developed feelings for both a man and the idea of giving birth as a man.

Specifically interesting for me, was how the MC and ML had absolute zero romantic interest for each other at first since they were both living life under a pretence. The MC had to act as if he was head-over-heels for the ML so as to maintain in-character, while the ML had to pretend to be okay with intimacy, even though he had developed a severe phobia of being touched. As the MC clears his missions, he unlocks special perks that may help him achieve a better life. One of those perks, was to grant his spouse the ability to read some of the MC's inner thoughts. Which meant, the pretences had to go; once they were more honest with each other, we start to see signs of romance developing. I loved the fact that both characters developed interests for each other based on understanding and their personality, instead of just their good-looks (although good looks did help in the physical attraction department).

Overall, the characters were pretty well-written as well. MC is good-natured, but knows how to stand up for himself when he needs to and he does not indiscriminately treat everyone kindly. ML is a stern and cold character but he's never mean (just misunderstood) to anyone who's not a jackass. ML also warms up as the story progresses. The side characters were well-developed too. The MC's enemy turned best-friend, Qi Xiao Yang, had his own fair share of troubles but I see his involvement as crucial as he was the one who influenced MC to accept childbirth.

Spoiler

At the end, the ML dotes on the MC greatly and the MC realises he's truly in love with the ML. Happy ending all around :)

Great story.

At first, I read this because it has transmigration and system plot but upon reading, the story has more intricate plots in between that is not mentioned in the synopsis above. This gave me a pleasant surprise.

The MC is tasked by the system to reach the pinnacle of life. He is smart and funny which gives him a lot of dynamic to the ML who is serious and strict. Although the ML has an intimacy phobia, he slowly began to warm up because of the MC's personality and character.

There... more>> are several supporting characters in this novel and these characters also have their own mini story within it. I truly enjoyed how the author provided the plot twists involving the MC (which I will not spoil so better read the novel).

Overall, I gave it 5 stars because it's an enjoyable read. I have my bias on transmigration genre but the fact that I was surprised with some plots means it's not a totally predictable cliché story. Although there are some plot holes, I think it's worth it. <<less

Half the story was about Shen Ran's success in doing business. His streaming video, online drama, online food delivery, etc were pretty much a bit much to me but it's novel plot lol. Not much explanation of the hidden enemy behind the big enemy, disappointed. Instead we were given extra chapter for the hidden enemy's wife story after the ending eventhough both of them had the same screen time. And the wife involvement in the while story was also non existent imo, so I dont get why'd the author write... more>> abt her but not the husband. <<less

Actual rating 4. Only best part for me: ML's condition, ML can see the MC's mind barrage and extra chapter reason why the MC transmigrated. Spoiler about real MC ... more>>
Spoiler

cannon fodder shen ran soul is the MC's soul. Was mentioned only in fanwei. It is the ML who saves (asking the system) the MC. However, I didn't find the ML in poverty in return, since the ML exchanges his everything esp wealth to save MC

Good story to spend some of your free time but there is really nothing remarkable from middle of the story to the end. The plot is common and predictable. Still, it won't make u curse like other sand sculpture novels.

Also, I find it superfluous to have a several side couples in the story. 2 will do. Anyway, all is well so it ends well. <<less

Simple and sweet modern-day romance. First things first! The summary is very misleading. I initially avoided this novel because, based on the summary, it seems like one of those novels where the couple inexplicably breaks up in the middle because of some contrived reason... only to get back together at the last moment to dish out dog food to all the singles lmfao. BUT in fact, it's not! The tone of the novel is lighter than the summary would imply. To be more specific...

The novel is set in a modern... more>> day world, but it's one that's behind in terms of technology and some cultural aspects. The MC was assigned to this world after getting into an accident while reading about it in a book. He was given the role of a cannon fodder in the original story who cuckolded the original protagonist (the ML) and ended up dying alone. When he arrived into this world, he was already well into his marriage with the original protagonist, but there was still a long way to go before his end. So, he deals a lot with the system at first, which encourages him to create a livelihood for himself (which is where the poor-to-rich aspect comes in, though it's more of a rich-to-rich lolol). The story focuses on business management at first, but the ending arc explores the mixed relationships of all the characters in the book that wasn't revealed in the original novel.

When it comes to the romance, it was a gradual build-up that was both humorous and sticky sweet~ So it's really not as dog-blooded or contrived as the summary may make you believe it is XD. All in all, I considered it a good read, and the MTL was also highly comprehensible (i plugged the raw into google translate and directly posted it to wattpad for offline reading. It was 85-90% readable.)

OHHH just one thing, remember to not take this novel too seriously! The MC is quite careless when it comes to certain matters, and it's even possible to just call him straight-out heartless DX. So if you take things too seriously, it's a bit difficult to enjoy the novel's occasional dark humor. In the end, the main CP are quite happy, so I didn't really care. Especially since the ML also took advantage in the beginning by hiding things and then later freely reading his mind like its nothing lmfao~

CHARACTERS: 7.5/10

The characters of this novel are nothing too special or complex, but the detailed relationship lines between all of them was interesting and well planned. So there were no loopholes at the end!

Shen Ran (MC)

Shen Ran is quite loud and proud. A good actor. He doesn't care much about romance or the ML at first, and he's definitely not your sticky and sweet shou -- despite having been given a character of a 'fertile male'. He works hard in his business and is quite funny. His dynamic with the ML at the end was really great!

Min Xingchuan (ML)

He appears to be your typical stoic gong -- complete with facial paralysis and an aura of a domineering CEO with hundreds of billions in his name. But, the reason for his character to be as such is a little different from your typical domineering CEO. Which I though was quite fun!

ROMANCE: 9/10

Although the romance is not really romantic. At least, not in the way that the term is usually considered, I liked the gradual development of the characters quite a lot! The banter between the two is great because the ML later gets the ability to read the MC's mind -- which is hilarious btw. Admittedly, it's a little awkward at times, but I think that may have been because of the MTL butchering the slang. XD The way the relationship was tied up was also a bit clumsy, but I had a lot of fun, and laughed quite a bit while reading this.

The side couples were also pretty good! Though, of course, they weren't really given much spotlight.

SETTING: 7/10

This is a modern day setting, with the SYSTEM giving it just a little bit of spice. The MC's system is a 'Jack Su' system that wants to lead him to achieve the pinnacle in life, which makes the focus of the first arc of the novel on business management and such. Later on, it goes a little bit more in-depth on the drama between the rich. So yeah, altogether, quite vanilla. The planning was quite good though!

PLOT: 8/10

The plot of this novel may not be everyone's cup of tea. It's mainly poor-to-rich (except the MC is actually rich and is just limited by the system, so not much satisfaction there) and family drama. There's also some faceslapping, of course. There's another player working behind the scenes~ Which gives the plot some direction and ties everything together.

RATING: 3.93/5

All in all, quite a fun read! Good for lifting the mood, I think. I was in really horrible mood yesterday because of toothache, but after reading this, I was able to relax and just turn my brain off to focus on other things. If nothing else, just for that alone, I'm quite happy to have read this novel! Also, even though I took a break near the end because I had to sleep, I still ended up finishing the novel, which is quite rare~ <<less

This is a pretty generic transmigrated cannon fodder spouse novel.

MC has a system that helps him complete tasks that help him build an empire while capturing ML's heart. One of the mission rewards is that ML gains the ability to read MC's mind. ML has haphephobia. They fall in love. They have kids. The end.

I just want to say that I agree with all of the reviews for this story. It's worth a read, but like every story, some people might not enjoy it like others.

I think the story is pretty well written up to this point, and I don't mind the business oriented portions though I can see how it might become a bit of a drag in the future. The reason why I rated it lower than 5 or 4 is because of Shen Ran, the MC. He knows that the ML... more>> has a phobia due to his past (trauma) and the MC will go out of his way to make the ML uncomfortable because he doesn't want to constantly act in character to avoid being OOC. Like, he rather do an 'extreme' act than to say something in line with his character because it's easier to do the act and runaway than to stick around and say words he doesn't mean want to say. For example, the MC:
Spoiler

1) kisses the ML suddenly and running away to avoid consequences 2) takes advantage of ML while he is drunk by going into the bathroom while ML is showering so he can touch him 3) when the ML agrees to kiss him (because the ML wants to try being intimate!!), the MC literally thought "oh well I might as well take advantage of this and mol*st him" so he starts removing ML's clothes, touching him, and saying intimate stuff. Doing these acts basically gives MC more "in character points" and he doesn't have to maintain being in character as often afterwards.

[collapse]

What makes this worse for me is that, the MC disdains the ML for having psychological and physical reactions! You did something to him without his consent so he reacted badly --

Spoiler

ML literally shakes, goes pales, vomits multiple times, and even calls his therapist as a result of the MC's actions

[collapse]

--and it's annoying and funny to you? I'm not into the trope of a character "overcoming" their trauma by having someone dismiss said trauma and disrespect their boundaries. Maybe I'm biased because I see this kind of thing happen in real life and usually ends with the person being more traumatized, but I think the author could have handled this part of a whole lot better.

I'm not willing to stick around and see how the rest of this goes because the MC's actions and thoughts genuinely make me uncomfortable. And that sucks, because I think the ML was decently written and want to see him developed and overcome his obstacles. Despite home being describe as cold and arrogant, the ML isn't really that 2D and flat. There's reasons for his words and actions. His opinion of the original MC body is valid and reasonable and his actions towards the MC with the original body in mind are also valid and reasonable. Saying all this, I really can't understand the MC's attitude toward the ML lol I think the author wanted an "enemies" to loves type of love line and ended up making the MC a bit 2D for the sake of the trope. The cold, arrogant ML is a bit more considerate and sympathetic than the MC.

Despite my rating, I would recommend this if you want to pass the time. My issue with the story obviously did not bother many people or they were able to ignore it. Some people might even find the stuff I don't like cute or funny and that's totally okay! To each their own! The side characters are interesting and so are their relationships (even if some of the other couples are a bit strange). <<less

Rating: 4.7/5

I got more than I expected reading this novel. I thought that this would be another no-brain feel good cold CEO x Gary Stu novel. And essentially this novel is that, except for the no-brain factor. The plot, while peppered with cliches and common tropes, managed to put in a lot of twists, so many in fact that it bordered on being convoluted. However, I still managed to understand most of it while mtling so it wasn't that confusing.

There was a good amount of humor and a lot of... more>> likeable characters. The antagonists were at a disadvantage from the get go, being delt a bad hand while trying to smash a rock with an egg. All they could do was scheme and fail at scheming.

A lot of elements were unrealistic, especially the MC's money making development. Unrealistic goals were achieved within an unrealistically short timespan. That's what bothered me the most.

I didn't even mind the loose ends here and there as they didn't take away from the reading experience.

In the end, I enjoyed reading this novel quite a bit. While the plot wasn't thaaaat original it had enough going for it to be entertaining despite being predictable at times. <<less

I actually never like slow romance story even if its not too slow I still wouldnt like it, but this story line was good that I don't mind the romance part was slow (or maybe its because the other character have their sweet romance early?no?idk)

I also like how all character have part on this story not just Cannon fodder by stander.

I enjoyed 80% of the story -- I loved it while I was reading, but once I've finished the novel and had time to think about it, I realized that there are reasons why I couldn't enjoy the latter part of the story as much as the beginning. The thing that made me give this a 4* is because some of the things gets dragged on/boring + the plot is very loose. While it's a well-thought storyline, some of the pacing/execution of unveiling the mystery (resolution basically) isn't shown that... more>> well... that's the only let down I had, considering that it affected how I enjoyed the novel, it would've been ok if it didn't drag on/focus on simplifying some things so that it could be more concise, and thus not linger too much on exposing it's own short-comings at the end...

The text is very enjoyable though, so I still recommend to give it a read!! The ML's personality starts to come online/not 2D after he gains insight into MC's barrage. I like the work-line focus of the MC, it's all very exciting and I'm always hyped to hear more about his projects.

Although there's an ensemble feeling going on - it's very goody goody afterwards, once a character (side) gets their evolution (completes their plot line), their personality stagnates and becomes stale. Character development only works for a moment but isn't consistent. Not to mention some of the characters fade into the background and doesn't get mentioned ever again only until a few chapters left. It's??? Well it's not uncommon, but I was expecting more/better treatment from this novel, considering the heavier focus on ensemble/team and friendship they want to portray....

I still think this is a very good and enjoyable novel!! The dialogues and character r/s are very rich, most of the time. You enjoy the feelings of different CPs, which isn't common to have.

Obviously there's still some stuff like plot holes and weird character handling, but most of the time when you're reading the story these stuff won't be so noticeable. It does a wonderful job of giving a good experience, so I still recommend giving this a read <<less

The main issue I have with this novel is that it tries to oversell on things it can’t deliver so it reads for 50 chapters (a bit less than the third of total length) as a bland slice-of-life where MC is mostly focused on using knowledge cheats to make more money without any real urgency or tension, and never cares about past dynamics the original body had with people around (unless there is a rare OOC warning that I smoothly used to justify cringy interaction with ML).

Also the resume talks... more>> a lot about the interactions with a mind reading ML which might happen much later in the plot and isn’t the main issue. A more reliable presentation would have been something like: “The ML is deeply scared emotionally and the MC (originally straight and not from a ABO/mpreg world) will try to live to the top with the system assistance while pretending (badly) to maintain the original body’s clingy persona. <<less

Okay, obviously I'm expecting too much from a novel with a title + synopses like this could still hold onto the career line it's putting from the beginning. Still, this was a matter of personal preferences. Overall the story itself was quite concurrent despite the obvious genre shift in the second half of the story. After all, it is still a rich families drama and intrigue at its core, and the author also makes it clear to us on the get-go so... *shrug*

Basically, if you're like me, who is looking... more>> for a story with a competent protagonist (with their babies as the cherry on top), read this only until you reach:

Spoiler

The point around after MC holds a food contest or when the casts was starting to get back at the main antagonist (you'll know who). Bc after that, the company matter was thrown COMPLETELY out of the way. Don't expect any crumbs at that point, it'll just be uncovering the drama that I personally never care about as long as we get the antagonist out of the way. And the baby we are expecting? There won't be any until we get the extra on which the author was STILL trying to put more side cps together, so you might as well go straight to that.

[collapse]

Of course, if the drama and all those gigs are what keeps you going, then go ahead.

Next is just me listing the things I don't like in this novel, so skip it until the last paragraph if you don't care about that:

Another complaint I have with this novel is the HUMONGOUS amount of side cps this author trying to slip into the story. Almost ALL the relevant characters in this novel have their own cp. The exception is only for those who are already married, old, or a woman (btw this novel has zero relevant female characters, there is a candidate at beginning but she would never be mentioned again after she serve her purpose). Anyway, it doesn't really fit as a true criterion either bc:
Spoiler

Even ML's deadbeat father who is already in his fifties also got his side cp lmao

[collapse]

The only reason why I haven't thrown out this novel halfway already is bc at least the side cps doesn't really bother the mainline. Still, basically all the characters have one so it's hard to say whether the side cps truly has not stolen the main couple's spotlight. I can't really understand why you even need this many side cps (other than the author's preferences ofc) bc the ones who truly matter are only one or two while the rest was only used as a background painting I guess...😴

Speaking of side cps, I don't understand why the author wrote how fertile males (basically male omegas in this world, except there are no alphas) are rarely interested in those of the same gender, while also saying many fertile males took female partners and it is considered common. Don't they (the fertile male) have a courtship period (basically heats except there's no pheromone) where they get hot and bothered every month or so? How could a great populace of them can stand being with a woman while there's not even a mention of fertile males being with each other? I understand if it's in omegaverse setting bc pheromones were the one that actually mattered rather than the s*x. But here, it was pure s*xual desire and there's no other better cure than doing 'it'. Being together with other fertile males should be the optimal solution cuz you can f*ck and be f*cked without risk nor repercussion like you did with omegas in omegaverse setting 🤨

I'm saying this because I was one of the rare ones who shipped Shen Ran (MC) with Qi Shaoyang instead lol. Really, they should abandon those boring guys and get together actually 😌 This ship is so bait-y cuz Shen Ran canonically has flirted and even kissed Qi Shaoyang's face multiple times throughout the story.

Spoiler

Shen Ran has also flirted with many other characters actually, though most only stays in his head. For real, he appreciates beauties and handsome guys of any gender that it's kinda a reach for him to identify as a former straight cuz he never has crooked thought about the women instead. His personality reminds me a lot of some japanese/shounen harem protagonist so I think there's a high changes of him being an actual playboy/making a harem if he has not been locked with the ML from the get go 😂

[collapse]

The author or to be more exact, the characters themself has argued that this is just how jokes are between their gender (equivalent-ing it's with how girls can interact more intimately with each other to the point of questionable degree). But you know how even in real life such interactions have a high chance of a more... disagreeable manner 🤔

Spoiler

And of course author gonna further c*ckblocked us by throwing a plot twist that Shen Ran and Qi Shaoyang were actually cousins, smh.

[collapse]

On the way, let's talk about Shen Ran, the MC. I actually really like his character, one of the main reasons I begrudgingly gave this novel a 5 stars. Although it was not said outright, I'm pretty sure he is somewhat emotionally detached to others, at least in romantic matters. Bc he doesn't have a strong reaction or mental rejection with kissing and having s*x with the ML even tho at that time he hasn't developed a love for the ML and is also a virg*n in his previous life (he only thinks the ML as amusing🤣). Ofc, you can also argue that Shen Ran is just dull at realizing his own feeling. Still, I personally think even if after the end of the novel something happens and they have to divorce, Shen Ran won't be sad for long (if any) and could easily move on with his life with almost no thought nor care left about his previous relationship.

So, it was really a disappointment that at the end of the novel, Shen Ran minimally manages his company and instead, fully committed to his child (ren) like many other mpreg novels *sigh*... All of those dreams and passion between friends and colleagues are gone, replaced by MC being a stay-at-home wife (minus the housework) and ML taking over everything... Of course, I understand it is still in character of him. After all, as a poor member of society in his previous life, who would refuse a salted fish lifestyle where he can get money without doing anything?

Speaking of the ML (Min Xinchuang), likewise, he is like any other template of a male lead. Mr Perfect who is oh, so masculine and with trauma. Except here he's kinda funny bc his trauma, which is an aversion to physical contact ends up limiting his romantic life lmao.
Spoiler

Trauma so bad in fact, that when they do it the first time, ML gotta be sent out to the hospital shortly after💀

[collapse]

Finally, I just want to say that again, this is mostly my personal opinion so take with a grain of salt. Though, I think we all can agree that only putting the babies plot at the extra is so f*cking cheating and it was still overshadowed by author another attempt to insert another cp... Anyway I don't even bother to read extra at that point cuz the ending was already lackluster. Like what the heck with the cast written as if they're trying to race each other on being pregnant and having a wedding together🗿

Edit: Just checked the extras real quick and nope, there's really none of the babies stories smh... It was another side cps side stories once again. <<less

  • the only part I dislike in this story is that the author keep forcin the side character to steal the main frame yknow which the MC and ML have like uhh its just annoying as hell and not necessary LITERALLY throws the whole rhythm of the novel OFF and like whats with the author rushing everyone to be pregnant at the end? What was in your mind? Did you really need to destroy the plotline even more? These parts reallllyy pissed me off dk what tf the author was thinkin bruh

Great story.

The plot is similar to all the other transmigration stories where MC transmigrate into novel and have to complete mission by the system.

What I really like is the relationship between MC and Qi/Li Xiaoyang. Their platonic flirting is 💯👌🏻😂 to the point that even their husbands get jealous of them🤣.

My downside is that then ending is a bit messy. Too much drama and this-and-that with the whole families thing.
Spoiler

i dont really like it when our main couples along with the other side couples jus get married altogether. Personally, that a bit extreme even on bro-hood lmao

[collapse]

Anyway go for it, its an esay read even with mtl

MTL'd and was pretty understandable despite the rough text.

This has been quite funny, especially when ML eventually reads MC's inner thoughts. I was always a bit dubious on transmigration and having the MC stick to the script but tbh the plot is already so wack, I went for the ride. I usually stop once I find out how MC gets feminised or is described as 'porcelein', 'soft', 'small' but his characterisation as his original self is pretty amusing. He's a hard worker and I like that he can stand up... more>> for himself.

The system gives MC little tasks to basically build a whole business empire (which I still think is so random??), romance kinda became a secondhand focus. Author also couldn't help themselves to give every single notable male character their own (male) love interest. Some of the side pairings are really cute but some are just, again, random af. It's as if the novel that MC now lives in was built for gays only. I still cant get my head around as to how MC's childhood friend and MC's brother just hooked up and got married. Reading their scenes has made me feel uncomfortable because MC's brother has only mentioned that he sees the friend as his younger brother.. Can't help but roll my eyes each time they appear and act all lovey dovey.

The writing direction is a bit unstable.. Once it starts mentioning a new topic the author would always include a whole background story that ends up being a bit misplaced? Random? Like mentioning that there's vegetables and then the author proceeds to write about how MC loved to pick them from the garden in his original life, how it tastes, what they looked like, being with his grandpa, what his grandpa taught him as a life lesson - it just feels like fillers honestly! It's like they're writing an easay and had a minimum word count to meet.. Same goes for MC's empire-building, I can't hold my interest long enough and would often times just scroll past them. It's TMI and quite pointless to the story at times.

Explains why the story is so long and I kinda reached the point where I'm happy with where I'm at? At least MC and ML are getting along.. But I'd rather spend my time on reading a fleshed out book rather than the remaining 40 ofd chapters that's probably half-full of fillers.

I realised I rated it 4 stars despite all the negativity but I really like the MC, just wish it was more focused on him. <<less
