This one started out pretty decent, with lots of room to grow, but in my honest opinion, was butchered by the author.

Starting with MC, we get a brief description of his life before transmigrating. Then as the chapters go by he conveniently knows how to do this and that, has experience in this and that whenever he comes across any problem. MC is the definition of a gary-stu character. Although not terrible nor annoying, he feels kind of bland in a way. Not to mention, with the huge amounts of... more>> re-edits/rewrites from the author the storyline becomes a bit jumbled and it makes the MC and ML "wishy-washy" in their relationship causing the readers to go through multiple chapters of the MC's mental gymnastics. For example, the MC will come to his own understanding of his feelings towards ML, then in the next two chapters the MC will all of a sudden be confused again. Which then makes the readers confused because for me, I could've sworn we've already established these things. But this wasn't even the biggest issue of the writing.

My main problem with this novel is the amount of random plot/tropes thrown with no substantial weight in the overarching story. It felt like the author wanted to cram in so many things, which could work if they had taken the time to flesh it out to connect the dots better. Most "foreshadowing"/easter-eggs to me felt cheap because it is either told right before a reveal, feels like an afterthought on the author's part, or completely out of nowhere.

This affects the MC especially because he's written to be such a smart and OP type of character who can't be tricked, but author always nerfs him for these little plots when in verse, the MC would've definitely not fallen for these schemes. It wouldn't be such a big issue if it didn't continuously happen. For example, his assistant Yan Xu, who is suspicious and already revealed to be working against MC but it goes unaddressed until chapter 70-something. Even then, nothing really happens until randomly something BIG happens. It really feels like the emotions and cohesiveness of the story is all tumbling in a washing machine.

I'd say the two things that I most appreciated and loved was that at least the MC was not an Annoying Apathetic Gary-Stu, and the care and thought put into accessibility and disabilities. Knowing how ML was struggling and borderline suicidal, the MC is written so well in respect to this aspect. Their dynamics are pretty solid and there's a bit of heartache here.

Overall, it's not a terrible read, but not a reread nor a great read either. Just okay. I probably wouldn't think of this first to recommend. It has it's good aspects, but in the overarching sense, felt pretty bland from the lack of substance and flow. IMO, if the author instead stuck to the more slice-of-life route, I would've rated this a bit higher. I guess my gripe with this story is it had so much potential, the relationship had a good build-up, but it sorted of tumbled throughout.

In the end, it's all down to whatever people like though. So read it or don't lol <<less

Omg I MTL'd thinking it was finished but NOPE ongoing, oh nooo

I should've seen the signs when they started mentioning COVID, like that's a dead giveaway that the novel is quite recent.

I AM A SUCKER FOR MARRIAGE OF CONVENIENCE. Couples facing disabilities. AND an initially straight shou! MTL said that both the gong and shou were of similar height so I had found paradise. And the fact that the original shou fell in love with the MC makes it a great twist!

It's a really sweet story about a hardworking, talented,... more>> smart, earnest shou that learns how to love in his transmigrated life :') Love seeing the gong and shou interact, and the fact that the shou calls the gong his 'wife' really makes my heart pound. He can be tough and firm with his decisions, so I just wanna say YES finally a shou that isn't perceived weak and feminine!

Interestingly enough, the story is mainly about their romance and the shou's slow progress in turning the novel's plot around to ensure stability for himself and his gong. He was first a celebrity but has then entered a role of the entertainment company boss. It's refreshing to read from his perspective when it comes to making decisions/communicating with his idols.

One thing to note is that this MC has so much talent/skills up his sleeve which had led to a lot of advantages in his transmigration - aside from the emotional aspect of course (him being a noob at romance). He studied music in his original life, so he can take on the role as a composer.. His original mum was in the medical field so he was well versed in dealing with health emergencies.. And then his original dad being a tailor so he had a knack for clothing/fashion.. He can also operate/dictate as a boss because of his past life. He can cook, he's quite knowledgeable in the flora/fauna.. So where can I find a man like this?

ML is a TREASURE. He was prickly at the start due to his past, but the way he opens up and pursues MC is so so adorable. He struggles with being patient but he tries and succeeds. He gives MC the space he needs for MC to get used to being in a gay relationship. The understanding and care both of them give to each other!!

I just haven't found a novel like this in a long while, so I really enjoyed reading this. <<less

First, great job translator! Really appreciate your work.

Second, this novel is written poorly with so many plot holes and questions right off the bat. For example, MC transmigrated into the book and suddenly out of the blue becomes OOP without a system or golden fingers which I find weird for a human to act this way. Like, he already accept his new identity and act all high and mighty as if it was his own body... with no doubt or fear as to why he transmigrated. How did he transmigrated?... more>> Did he died in the real world?

What was even more confusing was the author acts like the reader can read her/his mind so the plot of the book was lightly brush as if we already know what is going on in the book. For example, in the beginning the MC obtains a new body and suddenly decides to help the original shou in the book at the auction.... BUT for what?! Was this a turning point in the book plot that has to be done by the MC to change something major later? It's so confusing I have no idea why the MC took the actions that he did, beside just him being cold and hot and inconsistent.

Personally for me, it was lacking in writing skills from the author that the plot was all over the place so I dropped it. Also, I notice this A LOT but why does most transmigrated novels involve the MC transmigrated into a character that shares the same face and name as them? What is the purpose of that beside to keep the appearance and name of the MC the same? In this way it's just like a rebirth story where MC retains memories of his life, EXCEPT it happens in a book instead of reality. <<less

I'll adress the minor issue right from the bat: chapter count. Because of asianovel being as it is, MTL + sum editing, they probably couldn't make uploads here but on their site this novel is completed. Sooo no worries on that part.

On to the story.

For me what makes story a good one is its' characters, and boy I tell ya MC is killing it. He is such a beautiful man it is almost surprising there is no harem lmao any other story and he would be hailed as god. Thank... more>> heavens side characters have their own lives to consider and it doesn't revolve around MC like sun does.

He's just a decent human being dude, with his share of emotional bagage and all, and really has a knack for making people feel loved/cared for. Such a sweetheart. (And well villains may or may not be a tad too cartoon-villanish to make MC seem even better but whatever don't rain on my parade here) Now if I were to pick a bone with him, it would be him insistenly calling ML "wife". He's quite literaly a man so can we stop??

Tho ML didn't leave that deep impression on me ngl he is good and all but I feel like his character still need some more exploring. I'm 2/3 into the novel so it remains to be seen if it will happen or nah.

Chars outta way, let's see what I can cook up in my noodle to say about the plot. It won't be "top 10 mystery animes that'll keep you up for days till your spouse suspects you of cheating" tho that's for sure.

"MC transmingrates and marries ML, couple growth, face slapping, sweet romance" should be enough to summarize lololol did I tell ya I'm quite good at keeping notes? Meaning plot is simple, it's not brain ded and I think it's worth to read. I can't ascertain if some things are plot holes for real or got lost in the asianovel tl, so I opt to comment on that.

Overall this is a wonderful read and managed to make me squel a few times so, why 3.4 rating?? Are ya'll on hating party and I'm not invited? Ik there is still 30 ch for me to go but halloo?? <<less

I don't like how the shou is always called the "wife" or "sister-in-law" it is annoying because at the end of they day they are men. But in their case with the role switch around,.. It kind of refreshing ?

Their dynamic is great, because of the Ml's disability the MC takes care of him. He guides the ML through his depression and have this deep chemistry with each other. MC holds on to the ML through his depressive episode, accepting him at his lowest. But don't get twisted the MC... more>> is not some kind of sunshine, holy saint. He admits his attention early on, with goals and benefits of his own. He is strong and clever with an attractive character.

The author went on a hiatus at one point leaving me hanging for a long time. The ending I think was not bad and I am content:))) <<less

In my opinion, although there was some areas that was weird, characters literally pop out of nowhere, but I guess I like the MC and ML enough to finish the raws. I think they are cute, it’s 1v1, they love each other and I’m enough with that. The backstory about the ML and his family is a bit whack, but I’m happy with the ending. Not bad, not bad. Will reread again.

Wow what an odd read. 3 stars for some rather unconventional world building with many unanswered questions and a small handful of plot points that seem to have been lost in the author’s editing effecting continuity. The romance itself does not stand out as much as the complex backstory. Some characters are perceptive and intelligent, but most are just as inexplicable as the plot. It’s not necessary a problem of just writing skill, but the author let the plot get derailed by the new ideas she inserted. You can tell... more>> towards the end that she had a message she wanted to share with her story, but that it got so confused that her actual intent became lost.

Rather than surprise characters what I noticed to be problematic continuity wise were some details. A interesting example would be that the opening scene and auction are on a boat, but I may have missed this due to my own negligence. There are other scenes that are referenced directly by the protagonist that I either completely missed or somehow did not make the final cut, like when the MC realizes that the ML had mislead him about his s*xual orientation. This appears to have occurred in a bathroom and may have involved a m*sturbation scene by one of the protagonists. If so, it may have been censored out.

The ending is one of the most bizarre I have ever read, but this is also why I gave it an extra star. I am particularly fond of the focus on accessibility especially in the latter part of the story. Everyone deserves some basic respect. <<less
