Arcadia Quest. A game that has won over many a heart with over a hundred different plot routes, which is supported by a vast yet well-designed character base. In these myriad of characters and routes, there was one character, Crescentia, who faced ruin no matter the route followed. The protagonist of this work is a NEET gamer that loved Crescentia. He played Arcadia Quest over and over without minding the time to find a route where Crescentia could be saved. But despite trying for years, he had never succeeded in finding such a route. That day too, he fell asleep after yet another failure.

When he woke up the next day, he found that he’d been reincarnated in the world of Arcadia Quest!! The protagonist was overjoyed that he now had to chance to save Crescentia with his own two hands. But he was reincarnated as a mob character who couldn’t be considered strong by any means. If anything, he was a small-fry at best. A small-fry that could be taken out by a strong breeze.

But the protagonist wasn’t discouraged. ‘If I’m a small-fry, I just need to train harder. If I don’t have any talent, I just need to train harder. If saving Crescentia is going to be extremely difficult, I just need to train harder.’

Everything is for his favourite character. Supplanting a lack of talent with outstanding hard work, the mob gamer grows strong enough to destroy the game’s plot.

It was an ok start but gets really boring for me on later parts. Well its mostly because I really don't like stories starting too early yet no considerable time skip to advance MC age. By arc 3 or ch44 MC is around 6 (?) years old yet he is already strong enough to fight/survive against average adults/villains. Don't really like to concept of the creepy kid solving adult problems, is he Conan or something. Though not OP enough story should have atleast advanced MC age to 10-12 as main... more>> game scenario starts at age 15.

Although not really bad, I think this is one of those slow burn novels. <<less

It's actually pretty bad. The author has done a pretty good job of making the protagonist super creepy (not just pervy but in other ways). The early training scenes are unsatisfying. The first conversation with his dad also left me feeling disgusted with him.

Spoiler

The man abused [Norwin] for the kid's entire life, but the dad just says "I know everything you've been doing. I can't tell you why I abused you, but there's a reason." and the protagonist not only accepted that, but was awed by it. Including the fact that the vampire was allowed to kidnap and kill girls even though the father could have stopped him any time. By the way, since then he's made no effort or plans to figure out how his father spied on him or why Norwin was treated that way to begin with.

[collapse]

Honestly the story desperately needed to show Crescentia early on as something other than a corpse. I still have no idea why the protagonist cares about her at all, let alone obsessed with her. Then again, he hasn't spared any thought for her aside after starting training, so maybe he's just mentally ill? If you don't hate the protagonist being a Rudeus clone without having the reasons Rudeus had, the story will probably be a 3 so far. <<less

Another story where 5-7 years old kicking grown up professionals. On top of it NEET for some reason can work out and study non-stop. Even reading two books at the same time. Some overpowered NEET they have there. Illogical leaps in logic don't help either. So story itself is around 4 but MC is so bad that it's simply impossible to ignore it. What is even the target audience for this story? 5 year old kids?

It maybe is a good novel and it sometimes gets better then bad.

The other reviews are just as right I myself wanna give it 2* or 3* but I wait until I read further likely I will give low score altho
I will say go read Mobsekai or flashing wizard these novels have this plot while not having it in name.
The author falls prey to his own self insert fantasy of getting everything taken by maid

The WN isnt about saving the favourite character at all it's just being horni for your Maid while once in 2 chp talking about Crecentia the girl in title so you don't forget her lmfao. And one review is saying it's bad due to the story being about saving favourite character, My brother it's not even about that.

But Crecentia enters in story at ch 46 to throw in the tr*sh can for the maid brithday MC has bad commitment problems. It's annoying the ch 1 to ch 40 heroines lack brain anyway will leave u questioning why crecentia isnt entered in story at all.

Story is interesting until you found out that translator use MTL without checking/editing or proofing It make story so confusing that what going on or what happen even confusing when battle scene and they misuse he/she/him/her so many times

other than translation the story kind of annoy that author still keep him about 5 years old did he know what 5yrs old kid look like? They can't do shit! Atleast make him 12 or 15 it kind of impossible for 5yrs old to hold the sword or fighting

for me this... more>> story is 4stars but -2 for translation If they want to use MTL so bad atleast checking it before release! <<less

Novel is pretty standard Japanese Isekai novel with a reincarnated MC who get op really quickly. MC is a bit ret*rded but it's that bad. I would say : 3/5 overall and -1 for the translation wich is pretty bad and need some proofreading. (Character's name changing from paragraph to the next, random letters left and right, still better than pure machine translation but not by much)

the novel is flawed from the utter beginning, shame cause I like the theme. The novel starts with the idea that MC is a weakling who might have to fight against an entire army of heroes, because in the game all characters except Norwin can become heroes and all of them ultimately have to kill the girl MC wants to save. MC says that the character Norwin he possessed is a nobody, but somehow this nobody has super-ultra-mega talent?? Bs. If Norwin was this talented then he would be in... more>> the game as a playable character rather than a mob. Sure, the author gives a reason for this godly talent, but that reason is complete tr*sh. Oh and MC keeps saying that he has no talent. Also how come his family who is supposed to be a nobody family, is somehow this mysterious super family? Apparently despite playing the game for thousands of hours and finishing it hundreds of times, there exist secrets that he never found out about despite trying learn the game inside out. MC learns some stuff and maid says that it's pretty good, but then some super strong dude comes along and says "wow you're a monster is how super op you are!"

MC is forbidden from leaving the house, he's under house arrest. But somehow when he leaves the house no one stops him? But when he comes home, suddenly he has to push through knights to get inside?

oh btw, MC is 5yo while his maid is 16yo, well guess why is there a tag SHOTA in this novel? That's right, cause in 2 more years that maid will be considered a predator yay. And someone called MC creepy in the reviews lmao.

translation is bad, it's bad, yep bad. Can't even distinguish between characters talking and thinking kind of bad. Also look at this sentence:

  • Misha, who had been forced to suffer inconvenience due to her family's circumstances, felt sorry for Norwin, even if he was not as poor as Norwin.
what does it mean? Apparently our maid Misha is uuh gender-fluid (?) who is richer than MC, that's what. And that's just a sentence I put in cause I saw it while writing the review, because I can write a review while reading and edit it later after reading some more, why not. Oh and yes the pronouns for Misha are constantly switched.

anyway I read through the first 13 chapters, 10 of them with the review tab open, and I'm stopping here I guess. It just turned into massive tr*sh with the entire "mYsTeRiOuS fAmIlY" shtick. I can even almost see the ending of the story, either everything was planned, or father will want to kill the princess and MC will stop him, it's just tr*sh. The novel could have been a fine read without any of this sh*t but the author probably read a gender bender like LotM and wanted to put some tr*sh spin on the story that was completely unnecessary. <<less

MC reincarnates into his favorite game because he is upset about not getting a particular ending that doesn't exist, no matter how many times he beats it. OK... Maybe he's mentally handicapped? No? The author is going to act like that is normal behavior? All right then. MC is also going to push himself through super human efforts motivated solely by his desire to save his favorite fictional character? Fine. I will just ignore all that origin stuff and try to forget it.

So how is the story? So far pretty... more>> mediocre. MC quickly finds a strong tutor and several love interests. Develops early proficiency in magic then suddenly focuses too much on spear fighting. MC keeps working to improve his magic proficiency but somehow never gets around to learning higher level spells? Why?

This gets a 3 for now. Nothing new. Also the translation is bad. I know we are not supposed to criticize that in our reviews but it is really rough and seems to be mtl. I would actually give this a 2 because of the quality. But the translation might improve and I can still understand what is happening, even though it takes more effort. <<less
