Like always, Flying lines gives us once again a quality translation, but the story...

In summary, Qin Shangshang, a debt-ridden girl decides to sell her body to clear the debts of her family. Lin Jingyan, a rich woman engaged to the CEO of the Lu corporation, hires her as a substitute for intimacy with her fiance and bearing his child.

The story starts by arousing our curiosity towards the reason behind the replacement and later keeping us on edge by wondering when Lu Shencheng, the fiance, will discover the hoax.

Its a story with high potential from the details alone, if only it wasn't TOLD in first person.
Limiting the scope to the one-sided perspective of the events by the protagonist, removes the possibility of understanding them from the view of more interesting characters or glimpse at hidden scenes that protagonist isn't able to witness.
This could have worked with the help of a well-built interesting character, but this was not the case.

For the first time, I came to understand why chinese people despise this kind of novels.

Naive, oblivious, self-righteous, delusional, selfish... and the list could go on and on~ stereotype.

Reading the protagonist's mentality was agony, seeing the male lead fall for her a disaster, and witnessing the IQ drop of the antagonist, a shame.

A pity such high hopes turned into disappointment.

In conclusion, read at your own risk, maybe you would like it.
