At first, I thought the MC was childish. Obsessed with getting approval from the Hero and blinded by money.

But it quickly changes and becomes good. He's stubborn and plots till he gets it right.

There's even slight Romance at the end.

• • It's frustrating though since it does have a few plotholes. The side-hero party had like only 2 sentences.

Most importantly, wtf wrong with MC rejecting the girl in his party? Well, at least he ends up with the Princess. (I can't tell if she's smart or not but at the end, she does seem grown-up?)

It's a pretty good take on the, kicked from the hero party, theme. The MC has a solid motivation for wanting in the hero party and it's relatively well presented. He actually has some decent character development in what's a very short story.

It loses stars from the plotting and the a$$pulls that serve as world building. Both the plot and the world building all come from nowhere. They are frankly a bit of a stretch to read, mostly from trying to do too much in too... more>> small a space.

Bottom Line: There's considerably worse and this is short and may bring a smile to your face. <<less

Really nice oneshot, can't say much about it since I read it yesterday and don't remember all the details. Ending is a bit wack and if this had a second chapter I feel like there would be a s*ave tag or smth.
