Later on, he grew tedious and randomly found a cave to seal away all of his magic items and a small, skinny black snake that was unable to change form no matter what. Manipulating the boundaries of the realms with Dao, his spirit left to wander the great cosmos.
This abrupt journey lasted 3 thousand years.
3 thousand years later, Feng Ci’s divine consciousness returned. Not only had his little black snake and the magic items disappear, even his physical body vanished without a trace.
Feng Ci settled into the body of a youth who just lost his life. Forced to leave the mountains, coincidentally, the Immortal Alliance just happened to be accepting disciples.
Sitting above on a high cloud terrace, with black silk covering his eyes, the legendary coldblooded and merciless Leader of the Immortal Alliance, Pei QianYue, said coldly: Terrible innate constitution. You can go sweep the floors of the outer sect.
Feng Ci: …… Who talks to their Master like this???
After that day, a new disciple arrived in the outer sect.
Good-looking in appearance, cultivation hard to describe in words, and exceptionally lazy. A salted fish who did nothing but eating, sleeping, and waiting for death all day.
Everyone joined in the wager, betting how long it would take for the Leader to sweep him outside the door.
Until the Immortal Alliance turned traitor and the rebellion army marched straight up LinXian Terrace.
Feng Ci casually broke off a branch from the cold plum tree. With a light wave, the sword light shook the Heavens.
Then after that—
It’s said that the Leader knelt in front of the room of that outer disciple for three days and three nights, but still didn’t manage to enter the door.

- MC and ML both gave each other face slaps and pitted each other throughout the novel, which was entertaining.
- MC being softhearted and biased towards his “snake baby” so cute haha
- Shou being more powerful than the Gong!!
- ML throwing tantrums when he didn’t get his way was cute and funny
- I enjoyed the parts where the ML behaved obediently towards the MC and recognizes that he is the weaker one/isn’t upset by this fact.
- There are two sets of side character siblings that I enjoyed reading about
- Side couple was also cute and funny
- CP’s dynamic towards the end surprised me by being rather compelling. Towards the middle I wasn’t feeling them anymore but by the end the author managed to recapture my interest towards them! Hooray!
Now for the Cons:- Gong using s*x as a form of punishment/venting frustrations on Shou. I personally haaaate this trope. I wish authors would leave it behind. The s*x scenes honestly felt lacking in emotion/animalistic most of the time imo though thankfully they got better towards the end.
- Non-con/dubcon moments were mostly just cringe and uncomfortable. Now I’m not against noncon, but it has to be done well and the noncon here wasn’t written well imo. Just too awkward/weird attempt at humor.
- ML was suffering from a personality disorder where it feels like two different characters inhabiting one body. What I mean is, when he changes his behavior from sticky, devoted, and obedient to vindictive, possessive, and controlling, the writing doesn’t flow to make it feel natural. You will be wondering how this is the same character from a few pages ago.
- Supporting characters, plot, and world building were lackluster.
- CP dynamic in beginning was more engaging and entertaining than in the middle portion of the book. It improved towards the ending, but the middle was definitely a pain to get through. Mostly because the CP are hypocritical towards each other and refused to communicate.
- There’s this weird s*x scene where

- MC is kind of tsundere which is not a bad thing in itself but

I just found it weird; they are both 3000+ years old, why act like teenagers?
- There is zero communication between the CP lmao they’re truly emotionally incompetent people
Overall a good story that I think the author did a good job on. I hate to bring up mxtx’s works, but the CP honestly reminded me of a sassy/bickering version of HuaLian, especially towards the very last few chapters. (I didn’t read the revised versions since I was already satisfied with the original version and I usually don’t read extras either so idk if those are good or not) It’s not something I see myself revisiting, but I think most people will enjoy this kind of book so I will recommend it!they switch but for some reason the shou is like “this is really hard ugh” and the gong was in pain the whole time? But he endures it anyways. It seemed like the author wanted to make a point that the shou HAD to be the shou no matter what because he’s bad at topping? Idk but I found that weird, I just wish there were more vers couples in danmei : (
even till the very end he refused to properly admit his feelings for the ML.
ML is a snake demon so don't expect him to act like humans and he himself says so in the novel. For him only his master (MC) matters to him. MC is a little bit of OP but it is because he is the son of the heavens. He picks on things rather quickly like ML's feelings for himself unlike other MCs who don't even realize the obsession of their MLs or the truth about the killings. He always develops a hunch about things and seems to get what can happen in a given situation. The story has its own conflict regarding the MC's body and heavenly spirit, that's why I don't understand some reviews saying they did not see the story moving. Side characters have their own personalities but because the novel is short they are not explored fully. Most of the story revolves around MC and ML flirting and trying to solve the mystery of the killer (which I think both realized the reality early on but avoided saying it because they both wanted to hear the truth from the other). I especially like the fact that MC very much likes the intimacy as much the ML likes. Some people may doubt MC's feelings because he seems to indulge his little snake but if you read the whole novel you will realize how deep his affection is for the ML. This is my first review so ignore if there is no coherence but I really wanted to write a review because I almost did not read the novel because of the negative reviews. The story is not grand, complicated or out of the world but you can enjoy it in your free time.
I want to read more about the sumeru world extra especially the angst part. Felt like author wanted to avoid making people sad but I really wanted to read about MC dealing with the grief of losing ML. It only said how MC cried so much and followed after ML but I wanted more details and some angst as that life for them ended in a tragic way. Welp I guess that's what reading erha more than five times did to my mind
