Honestly, I love this author's other stories. The Earth is Online and Rebirth of a Supermodel are basically my favorite BL novels, but this story makes me extremely uncomfortable and frustrated. MC's attitude towards certain things makes little to no sense and it's especially striking in comparison to the author's other MCs. Even if Qi Wenyuan is supposed to be another highly intelligent, reasonable and composed guy, this kind of portrayal fails miserably from the start, once we learn about all the drama that led to his death and rebirth.... more>> Although I think highly of the author and I appreciate the translator's effort, I'm really disappointed with this story.

Our MC actually wasted the best years of his life with a cheater Pan Lun. I would understand it perfectly if he didn't know about his lover's adultery, but he caught him red-handed many times! However he ignored these affairs for two reasons. Firstly, he was a newbie in a showbiz and couldn't oppose his lover/manager. Secondly, he was mostly the top in bed, so him turning a blind eye to Pan Lun's unfaithfulness was supposed to be some kind of 'compensation'. Could it get even more ridiculous? Qi Wenyuan sacrificed his dignity for such utterly absurd, senseless reasons. He even feels shocked because Pan Lun wanted to get married and keep him as a 'mistress' on the side. Man, he cheated on you multiple times and yet you needed this kind of wake-up call to understand that he's a shameless scum??? Are you really a mature man or rather a blind, oblivious fool? Naturally this novel is presumed to be a satisfying story about revenge. Unfortunately not even the most satisfying revenge could give MC back the wasted time (11 years!) and feelings he invested in his past relationship. Moreover, MC's new-found cleverness and determination can't erase the absurdity of his past choices. His mentality is simply inconsistent and confusing.

not too bad once you get past the beginning but no where close to being a favorite. As usual, this author likes to kill off her MC actor in almost every film/drama he's in and makes his fans cry buckets of tears. This, superstar aspirations, rebirth of an interstellar marriage, rebirth of a supermodel - in every film the MC is in he dies or goes crazy or has some other bad ending. The author has a fixation with tragic movies within her HE stories. there were some similarities between... more>> the ML's parents (one a conductor and world famous pianist and the other worlds top violinist) and the MC and ML from king of classical music (ML is a conductor and world famous pianist and MC is world famous violinist). Since they were both finished in 2015 I'm not sure which one came first, but the ML's parents in this story seem to be BG so there is a difference.

as other people mentioned, I don't understand why the MC would stay with someone who cheated on him over and over again for ten years. The initial premise is flawed and it makes the reader less sympathetic to the MC because no one can figure out why he would be so s*upid/lazy as to stay with him. The whole revenge thing doesn't work as well when the MC was basically enabling the guy to become worse and worse for over ten years. The other stories histories made more sense (died from illness, died in a plane or car crash/ was killed by a coworker). This MC you have to get past his initial passivity and lack of common sense in order to keep reading. Because of the backstory, this MC is less liked (but still better than the MC in her End of the World story).

my initial rating for this was a 3 but after reading the authors end of the world story I raised it.5 and rounded it up for rating on this site; in my notes it's a solid 3.5. <<less

1. Dont trust the low rating people who get mad because MC fall in love with Pan Lun and not smart enough blah blah blah. They did NOT read the paragrapgh throughly, the writer basically show you that MC just realize after he reborn that he actually didnt really love Pan Lun which is why he always overlook the cheating, because he did not care enough so it become 11 years of nothing but fake love, he actually never love PL at all.

And the last emotion he had during his... more>> death is only ANGER that he get play by such lowly scum people. Not sad, not fear, no tear, only ANGER.

so those who complain that MC is too s*upid because he love PUn Lun, go back and re-read again in details. He DID NOT love Pun Lun, okay?

For now I gve 4 stars because the story is good, MC is smart, but I didnt read how ML character is yet so might change the rating later, and yes. <<less

It's a bit early to comment on the plot since we're still figuring out what's going on as of this review (ch 7), but the writing feels fluid, tight, yet detailed. The story is taking its time with its progression, but it doesn't feel like there's really any much unnecessary fluff/padding. Then again, that could just be due to the excellent (and I mean excellent) translator. My only slight quibble is that right now MC's progression is insanely fast (like practically a nobody to trending on Weibo overnight) but hey,... more>> who doesn't enjoy some guilty-pleasure Gary Stu-ness lol.

I'm looking forwards to see where the story goes!! <<less

I love entertainment circle novels, but this one was underwhelming. As previous reviewers have mentioned, the introduction is just bizarre and doesn't make the MC seem sympathetic as a character. Romance is OK, but you don't really get a sense of the characters' personalities. The worst thing is probably that the scripts and roles that the MC play are kind of... boring. I normally don't mind plotholes, but there's multiple moments in this story where I scratch my head and go "what the hell just happened?" I'd also say that... more>> the pacing is way off. I'd give this a 3 or 4 out of 10. <<less

The usual trans-rebirth in Showbiz - the MC goes from zero to hero, from vase to God... The ML is probably the super-Big God actor, who probably had feelings for the MC's previous body, and is now intrigued with the new-body (probably sees the similarities between the two)...

The only different thing is how the MC would go about proving his first body's mu*der and proving the guilt of his ex...

This one is just so-so when compared to the author's similar work: Superstar Aspiration.

The mystery part kept me reading cause I want to know but I'm not too invested in the plot nor the characters.

I don't really feel like the MC deserves a second shot. He's made some dumb choices and I don't really like him. I might give it another shot if it gets completely translated.
