In my mind I really do long for a fun and lighthearted life, but I have a terrible personality. Vicious, cruel and selfish I'll knock a house down to kill a mosquito. Really its quite exhausting. But a new concept came to mind; if I could take my talent for collateral damage and change that to collateral good. To embrace my wicked self yet have a fun and carefree life, maybe Duncan can show me the way.

Think of it as ISAAC but slightly less bloody and more sane. The MC is very similar in nature but the circumstance is different as Dekan lives more comfortably and is not scarred nor has PTSD from going to war like Isac

Absolutely hilarious MC, highly intelegent and competent. Other than ISAAC I think the MC reminds me of Roland from Experimental Log of The Crazy Lich. They are both smart, calculating, and shameless. Willing to use any and all method to achieve their goal and as a renicarnator they have... more>> a unique way of thinking in comparison to the common people in this world.

My only criticism for now would be that sometimes it has CN writing flavor and not in a good way like how the peanut gallery would take a bit too much time screen time with their comments about the MC be it in a good or a bad way. Honestly that give me redflag and almost made me stop reading but fortunately it doesn't happen that often especially in later chapter, and albeit the writing quality being mid, the story and characters are actually pretty good.

I cant wait for more chapter <<less

I remember the time when I stumbled upon this novel. I was browsing mtl websites for webnovels to read. And I stumbled upon this novel.

“Magic Card” is a niche subgenre that you won’t find unless you delve deep into Chinese mtl hell. It refers to people who use these objects called cards, cards like Pokemon or Poker cards, in a variety of different ways. These cards have special abilities, and the method these cards are manufactured vary between novel to novel.

There’s Absolutely No Problem With The Magic Cards I Made... more>> is undoubtably one of the best novels of this subgenre, and I’ve read a lot of these magic card novels. IMO, I’d place is on the high to top tier chinese novels.

The author creates incredibly interesting secondary characters and villains that stay relevant throughout the story. It’s been three months since I’ve completed the novel yet nearly all the side characters stay fresh in my mind. Not only that, but they create an even more interesting MC. Dekan has one of the rarest personality traits in protagonists: being utterly shameless. If you thought Han Xiao from The Legendary Mechanic was disgusting with his beefy ass glass cannon build and using zerg tactics, this guy is even more shameless. To sum it up in his own words, he thinks that he is the most pure and holy angel on this planet, but literally everyone else, including his friends, agrees that he’s the devil disguised due to his ‘unorthodox’ methods.

Combat isn’t your typical unga bunga smash. Fights have no rules and Dekan perfectly abuses this fact. His actions in combat are often downright disgusting to the point where you wonder if they should be banned in the Geneva Convention.

Chinese novels generally excel at using comedy more than other types of novels, but sometimes it can be excessive and become borderline xenophobic. Not to mention that a person’s evaluation of a novel’s comedy is subjective. Fortunately, this novel nails the comedy. Well at least for me. It made me laugh out loud. A lot.

The only shortcoming imo is that it doesn’t have many strong points. Apart from the comedy, the insane story plot twists

holy f*ck the moment when Dekan puls off the insane UNO reverse card with the reveal of his last name legit gave me the chills

, Dekan’s goofy ahh moments and the characters, other aspects pale in comparison. It’s not that they’re ‘horrible’. They’re great, but not extremely memorable.

The worldbuilding is actually pretty magnificent. In the novel, there are two worlds. The Real World where humans and other races reside in, and the Shadow World. The Shadow World has one of the best world buildings I’ve ever seen: each ‘dungeon’ has a relationship, whether direct or indirect, with each other and the story flows naturally like a timeline. However, the Real World was alright. There was an attempt but the scale was too large for such a short story and a lot of it just ends up going to waste. On top of that, the very first setting of the second part of the novel was just wasted and that timeskip felt unsatisfying.

Romance? It’s decent but nothing crazy. I do wish the author spent more time refining the relationship between Dekan and Cornelia. Their chemistry is amazing but the romance just feels forced: the duo has more like a partner in a crime relationship than a purely romantic one.

There are no young masters. No courting death. No obvious cliches (in fact, the author tries to subvert your expectations). Not a single ounce of nationalism despite it being a CN. (Well, if you’re nitpicking to the point that having a chinese transmigrator counts as nationalism then I really am speechless)

Also, the novel doesn’t have a rushed/awful ending unlike most other CN but it does have a kind of cliche ending. According to my knowledge, this wasn’t due to being axed or cancelled. But as if to compensate for this, the author has plenty of side stories after the ending.

You can really feel that amount of effort, time and love the author put into his novel. In fact, my guy spends like all his money JUST ON ILLUSTRATIONS for his book. To be that dedicated, treating the novel like its own child, is such a rarity amongst web novel authors.

Overall, this is an obscure and spectacular novel.

Welp, better get back to translating. <<less

scherzo wrote a very thorough review. I just finished reading the first arc and I'd just like to endorse this novel. If you're looking for something fresh and funny, please give this novel a try. TLDR summary from my limited reading is : "MC is transmigrated and wants to create a top tier card waifu"

The charming point of this novel is it's game mechanic, MC, and his interaction with the world around him

MC is s*upidly hilarious. Watching how shameless he behaves is quite funny and reducing the cruel aspect of this novel.

The heroines (?) : While the red haired one is quite simple and cute, It's quite bland but the MC saves the day because he's funny

... more>> The poisonous one I liked a lot. She's a heroine, comrade, but also quite possibly an enemy

The story is idk. Its only been 72 chapter. But the plot inside the shadow world is good. The combat isn't just nonsensical slash there but he dodged that because he's fast. It's a card game so it involves a lot of strategy and that's what makes it charming. The MC isn't just a one trick pony either and is full of ideas

The villain is whatever

The bad thing (?) about this novel is that the MC sometimes forget what he's gonna do <<less

This is simply very good. I came across this gem some time ago and was enchanted. I was sad when the translation was interrupted; I tried to find MTL, but couldn't. Fortunately, it's been translated again. If you're unsure whether to read it or not, I'll give you a summary of what it's about: our protagonist ended up in this world where you can create magical cards and use them for various purposes, from combat to everyday life. At the same time, there's also that generic trope of a battle... more>> academy that trains young people to enter dungeons before they invade the real world. What sets this work apart and makes it an excellent read are the characters, especially the protagonist. He creates various card combos that end up becoming very powerful, but in other situations, they would be useless The deck the protagonist is building is based on causing pain to others, 0% lethality, 100% torture. There are scenes of this sadistic deck in action, especially the time he made demons begin to think he was more demonic than they themselves. There's also a female protagonist who follows the line of being dumb and strong, and she's hilarious too. Both protagonists are very charismatic, and that, along with the creative ways of using cards that the author always brings, makes this work really very good. <<less

This is currently one of my favorite novels that I've been reading lately. I would describe it as more of a comedy than action type story. The main premise is that in this world there are "shadow worlds" which you can think of as basically random dungeons, in said dungeons there is usually some kind of plot like a mu*der mystery. In the world this is usually a serious ordeal that people take as life threatening. Then the main comedy comes from how the main character is more devious than... more>> the villains, and how he tricks them, and how him & co treat the shadow worlds that people take so seriously as more of a playground than a life threatening event.
If I remember (its been a while so might not be correct) the beginning was a bit slow before he gets to the academy, but I would recommend reading through until at least the end of the first shadow world, since I believe thats when the book gets good.

Update as of c323:
Spoiler

I used mtl so take this all with a grain of salt but up to this point in the story I was still enjoying it a lot. The one big flaw that might be due to machine translation is that the romance felt very forced. There was definitely a good relationship between the two but when it came to the actual progression in their relationship it just felt off and a bit out of character. Its something I don't think ruins the book, but I do think that it could of definitely been better. Again, could of been due to weird mtl but since everything else didn't feel off I'm inclined to believe that romance isn't the authors strong suit so it came off as a bit forced.
