Spirits, demons and Youki galore! Whoohoo! We follow 2-3 people throughout the novel as they interact with different kinds of Youki and "contracts". Poor MC gets dragged into a problem with dem spirit youki thingys every time he goes somewhere.. Poor guy. But its entertainment for us!.. And the Zashiki Warashi in the MC's house is known to be lazy.. Go figure right? :D

An Absolute masterpiece. If you have read other works by the author (like a certain magical index) and liked them you're gonna love this novel. The author has done marvelous job giving us multiple POV of various different characters and all of them converging together to solve a single big problem. I liked this kind of writing in Index series as well.

Author does a good job in explaining and laying out the 'packages' in this story. He has done a really good job coming up with such complicated and non-solvable... more>> scenarios and then getting them solve by pure logic and deductions. It was absolutely enjoyable to read.

One thing this series has above author's works is that romance is well done. At least in my view hints were given here and there especially last 3 volumes. And at the end a good happy ending.

And yes author doesn't give a vague ending in which we imagine a happy ending for MC and the FMC but gives them a good wedding. Yes Shinobu and Yukari marry each other in the end. :)

If you like mysteries this series is good for you.

If you like author's other works but not satisfied romance (or your ship is not sailing (mikoto x touma for me)) then you gotta read this novel. <<less

I liked it, but there's one beef I have with this novel is that almost all volumes seem revolve around,

"The MC is going to die, and everyone around him is mega powerful with some obscure motives and manipulating nature to their will with a lot of fanservice, is he willing to be worth the sacrifice? Yes!!"

At the end of the day, he somehow survives through some complicated logic and supernatural world building which is hard for readers like us to make sense of. And that too wihout any sort... more>> of help from any of the side-characters who are also OP like the villain.
