Not sure if this title is even ongoing. What is that "dropped" status, yet has an ongoing LN? I'm not sure if the manga ended either, it says END yet it doesn't feel like one. I'll just be speaking out of the manga here. The ending doesn't even have the heroines throughout the whole arc prior, other than nothing but a faint memory of the MC talking about how they've changed him. Ironically, he's been like that throughout the whole manga yet is still a one dimensional character who is... more>> aloof or whatever with some sort of backstory or trauma that makes him who he is today. Hence, it doesn't even seem as if he'll reciprocate the feelings of those girls. Yet these girls are eager to give their body to him. Sure they like him, despite the fact he doesn't seem to reciprocate it, but it feels heartless or like a slap on the face. So don't come thinking there's much romance in the series. Seems one sided and the MC's attitude makes it feel like a romance forced onto him.

Seems like an author's wet dream of being a character with a tragic life raised into being someone strong who every guy hates, gets jealous of and underestimates despite his strength being shown, as if just made so that it makes sense others will pick a fight and he can show off his epicness, yet act all aloof and still get the girls eager to give him their body without a second thought, especially for the girl whose father was killed by him, as well as the mc's character being as if he's somebody cool and aloof, "i don't fall in love, they'll fall for me, " with one sided romance from these girls who would drop their resolve of anything just for him, ironically once in a while, "my life has changed" as he thinks of the girls yet they don't even appear in the final part as the story ends.

Iirc, to sum the girls up, one of them is basically, "i hate whoever killed my father grr. Oh it was you? Hm idk, hm oh wells, anyways let's smash"

At least the girl with the red hair had the most proper character. Even if it may not be much, it's still better than the other's including the MC's.

Anyways. Story, plot, world building and character is all paper thin and flimsy. It's as good as having no story at all other than the girls going, "you strong, tutor me, me like, we smash" <<less

It's a wish-fulfillment generic JP novel where a haughty MC face slaps everyone who doubts his awesomeness. MC has to have the lowest start in a slum and go to the most prestigious place to aggro all the nobles and impress all the girls to flock to his harem. The character building was nonexistent. His hardship was untold. His OPness was unjustified. Let's directly jump to the school arc. Clearly, the author just wrote it to satisfy himself.

Translation needs an editor.

The one point I thought was interesting in the manga was when the main character talked about how using guns was more efficient than magic and that was the only point this series had my attention.

Then the school arc starts and we get introduced to bland generic cartoon villain nobles who are made so pathetic in terms of their understanding of magic and ability to use it that it feels like they come from a different world.

Their idea of what constitutes strong magic is misaligned with what the MC knows... more>> that the scenes of them taking the test is comical without being funny.

My final criticism is the MC whos only defining characteristic that he is an assassin raised from childhood but he does things so over the top that undermines him being an assassin who wants to stay low and not raise attention.

Not good don't waste your time. <<less

Chapters are rather short, but as of chapter 5, I'm not really feeling it. The world-building is flimsy at best, and the author offering as few descriptions as possible doesn't really help. It's supposed to be a “relatively” modern world where they have modern weaponry and futuristic robots but magic is also a thing, I guess. I can think of a couple animes with the exact same plot though.

MC has less personality than a sheet of white paper, so talk about one-dimensional. I predict that this is just going to... more>> be a weird mix of cliches from similar WNs, e.g., the aloof, antihero protagonist, the arrogant young master trope, the dude getting a harem of girls he doesn't care about, and so on.

The translation is pretty inconsistent, but it's alright. It's a machine translation, most likely, but you can tell there's at least effort to make it readable.

I'll pick it up again when there are more chapters to judge whether it's actually bad or not. Even so, I genuinely don't think you're missing on much if you skip this one. <<less

Well this tried to copy the vibes of Mahouka koukou no rettousei and failed spectacularly.

At first when I read the manga it was interesting but eventually the paper thin world building and flimsy plotline has become it's undoing.

Author put in all the cliches of apathetic protagonist, op MC who's too cool to understand romance etc and being a super duper assassin and the generic school plotline into a mixer and pushed it out as such.

Of course MC is op and it's cool to see him in action but the characters... more>> are boring cardboard cutout and villains are one dimensional. Plus it's predictable.

Well I'll look at the manga from time to time cause the art is super good but honestly this story is only to read if you like edgy power trips <<less

The translation has stopped but so far my review would be:

the plotline is not special. A boy who is actually good and experienced at combat also the strongest has to go to the academy full of kids who has nowhere the power or experience as him. Just like “Shadow hero's daily life” or “Greatest magicmaster wants to retire”. He will go around and say “they can't do something this easy?” and get girls' attention.

Worldbuilding is still ongoing I think as of chapter 8. It has the basic explanations of a... more>> classic fantasy world novel but it still has some added elements so I'm guessing there will be more added. Since it's not even mentioned how a world of magic and swords have modern guns yet.

MC reminds me of the MC from Kage no Eiyuu because they were both raised as weapons and due to that they feel emotionless. This is the type I prefer more than the classic harem protagonist who gets shy at everything and clueless about what to do. Or the type of MC that would retort everything like in a comedy skit.

Still this was only the prologue so far so it doesn't have much to judge and this review should be revisited later if the series gets picked up <<less
