Edit: I read parts of Vol 10 and 12, and from what I read, it does seem that their relationship is actually just platonic sisterly best friends. It seems to me that the author either just intended all this as a gag/yuri-bait/"fanservice" or just backpedaled. Regardless, it's still s*upid because there wasn't even that much romantic development. I've explained this more in detail in the newer comments under my post about this topic in the r/MobuSeka subreddit.

Regardless, still deserves the score for the yuri-gags/bait/"fanservice". Especially because one of... more>> the times it does so without providing any context immediately around said bait/gag.

[I skipped a bunch of volumes aside from 10 and 12 (and even some chapters inside them), and even then vol10 and 12 do end up showing how their love for Leon is different (Romantic, lover) than their love for each other (Platonic, sisterly best friends). And both combined also show that each of their love for Leon vastly outweighs their platonic love for each other.]

===== Original content of the review: =====

MUST READ IF YOU CARE ABOUT YURI BAIT/GAGS + PSEUDO-ALMLOST-NTR:

(this rewiew contains light "romance" spoilers, I'd suggest reading it regardless.)

  • Context:
I continued from where manga left off (somewhere in volume 3, around the love score arc).

[also, I don't have anything against Yuri in general, please keep reading for more context]

  • What happens, and why it might piss you off:
The author loves to make Yuri gags between Angie and Livia to make fun of the MC. I read the infamous vol 6 to figure out how far it goes, but the gag turns into not just a gag but also bait to get Yuri fans and random Japanese trope of female friends being touchy feely to be used as "fanservice".

How the Yuri gag comedically starts:

Spoiler

The two female lovers interests of MC (who love MC, one has confessed) end up stepping on a machine to measure love by mistake while trying to drag MC there. The machine says that "both sides have true love for each other with a score of 120". Upto that point all they have been shown as are best friends who see each other as sisters. There has been 0 reason for them to be romantically in love with each other.

I assume that their "true love" (according to the love score machine) for each other is more like sisters/best-friends/platonic because this event was obviously a gag/comedic-moment/joke.

Right after this takes place, it is used for comedic effect, which when taken alongside the events of the story before this makes it so that it only makes sense that the "true love" was their platonic love for each other, but it's never explicitly confirmed.

[though, I state again, it is obvious it was all for comedic effect. If I recall correctly, right after that both of them slap Leon and call him the worst for answering their separate confessions he loves them both after they forced him to answer. So, clearly the girls dislike and don't believe in the idea of romantically loving multiple people (plus, going by the story, both of them don't have a reason to love anyone other than Leon). The only reason they accepted it was because they're sisterly best friends who loved the same guy but neither of them wanted to lose (they were even prepared for a fair and square one girl wins fight) and they didn't want the other to hurt either (they knew that whoever lost would be devastated). Perhaps combining that with Leon's answer made it easier to accept it. VOLUME 6 SPOILER: And the only reason they accept Noelle is because of the necessity, circumstances, and for Leon's sake].

Oh also, hearing Angie say something roughly along the lines of "When I found out (via the machine) that I loved Livia" or something like that was funny AF, even though it's also sad best girl is being made to say this cuz of the author's s*upid actions thus far. Of course, since this was used comedically and given the story before this moment, I'm certain the "true love"/"love" is Platonic as sisterly best friends.

[collapse]

Yuri bait + Pseudo-NTR/Pseudo-Almost-NTR + Japanese authors' weird idea of female-friends-being-touchy-feely "Fanservice":

Spoiler

Angie "Leaned forward and pressed her lips on Livia's lips" after reconciling/making-up from the fighting about MC getting another girl in the harem and how to handle her. I assume it's more of a weird but platonic "we made up with each other so we're back to being on good terms"/reconciliatory peck on the lips (with platonic feelings).

[collapse]

THIS IS AFTER THEY FORCE/DECEIVE THE MC INTO MARRYING THEM! (Even after both having slapped him for saying he loves both of them when confronted on his reply to their confessions) [AND They knew MC acted insecure and hurt the first time the Yuri gag was brought up (which is why it was brought up for comedic effect) during the love score arc]. Perhaps another way to look at it could also be taken as evidence of their feelings being platonic in even in these gag/bait moments because they love Leon too much to risk hurting him or putting him off (and they're not the type to manipulate/deceive the MC and just do things behind his back).

Also, I heard somewhere (might be a silver lining or the opposite) but of course still used as something to continue the Yuri bait/gag/joke:

Spoiler

the MC gets a 3rd fiancee who at some point asks Angie (and Livia?) that if they love each other so much, why don't they leave the MC. This question supposedly makes Angie become angry. (I'd assume because her love for Livia is platonic and Leon is not only the only person she loves romantically but also there's no one she loves as much or more than Leon. The last part is also evidenced from the fact that even after the first Yuri-gag I mentioned here (love score) the girls corner Leon to find out which of them Leon likes (and get angry when he says both and then both proceed to slap him).

[collapse]

Some fake "hints":

Spoiler

Livia often sleeps in the same room as Angie (and they're both only in their underwear when the sleep). In fact, MC's third fiancee even mentions that they saw Olivia's personal effects in Angie's room. Which is fine I guess because they're best friends and like sisters (and living in the same house, even if they have separate rooms of their own), so it can be easily considered platonic. Yet some people like to bring this up as "proof" / "hints", so I thought I should at least mention them.

[collapse]

All of this, however, will piss off anyone not interested in Yuri (even in trace quantities or as bait, gags, or "fanservice") especially given that they have had no romantic developments with the MC from their engagement to MC until vol 6. (Especially given that the author never really clarifies anything).

  • It doesn't even make sense:
Also, the Yuri gags/bait doesn't make any sense because there's no reason for the two fMCs to fall in romantic love with each other. In fact, the "love score machine" even surprised the girls themselves. They were like sisters and best friends. In fact, every Yuri gag/bait/"fanservice" comes out of the left field/as a surprise. There's always no reason for those moments. I hate it because my respect for my favorite character (Angie) dropped because of these moments [especially the "Leaned forward and pressed her lips on Livia's lips" after having made up from their previous fight, which ironically was about the MC potentially getting another girl and had no romantic moments with the MC before this. Though there's a good chance that it was a weird but platonic peck on lips that's a Japanese author's idea of "fanservice"/bait. The artist definitely makes that scene more on the "fanservice"/bait side but could be their faces are flushed/blushing from stress and anxiety of them having fought and strained friendship with their sisterly best friend (each other) and/or from the jealousy of the MC getting another girl].

(Olivia has always been more of a blankslate character with no personality of her own, perhaps because she's supposed to be the player character.)

  • What makes it worse: (character assassination)
It's made even more disappointing because their love for MC is clear (and proven by actions to be more than the love they have for each other, which I assume their love is platonic) yet, the author is using them for the Yuri gags/bait and ruining their character/image/personalities in the process. (Not like Olivia had much of a personality except being Yandere)

  • What makes it even worse: (the girls are supposed to know MC is insecure about this) :
It's also made worse by the fact that the MC was at one point insecure of this love score incident (the two girls know this because he ran away and ignored them) and he considered leaving them alone. In fact, they even slapped the MC when he said he loved both of them and called him the worst (when they forced him to answer their confessions). So, if the author makes them do this Yuri bait behind his back, it certainly looks like cheating/NTR and makes one think of the saying "practice what you preach, you psycho".

As such, the author kinda/almost makes them cheaters for bait/gags. (Since that diverges from their personalities, it is possible to look at this as further evidence that even all these bait/gags were done with platonic feelings and intentions.)

  • The author never even fully commits to this because he doesn't want to lose too much of his audience, yet makes indirect references to these gags or new indirect/light gags every now and then in the story:
Furthermore, the author is non-committal about it, and just keeps bringing these gags and bait randomly without any sense of prior atmosphere. That's pretty much why I can tell/assume/speculate that it's a gag, but even then it's going too far. The story had a target audience (when it comes to romance/harem), but the author clearly cut off a big chunk of that audience with this sh*t move.

  • What I'd have rather had:
Honestly, I'd rather have had Leon end up with only Angie than having to deal with this bait/gag every now and then! <<less

MC was a doormat in his previous life and is mob character in the new life, he has the mentality of a mob character and only reacts passively to situations, MC knows that there is another reincarnated person trying to usurp Protagonist but does nothing to hinder her and passively waits till she claims the title of saint.

MC became increasingly annoying in the love department. To the point were I've dropped this story completely. He fully embraces the the stereotypical Japanese protagonist high jinx but cranks it to a 11. He basically has these women throwing themselves at him and just doesn't acknowledge any of it, even when he goes out of his way to woo a girl.

There's literally no character growth at all from him, he still acts the exact same way from the first volume all the way to the fifth. It's like bro you... more>> overthrew the matriarchy and bagged 2 chicks now either marry n bang em or embrace your inner gayness and get it over with. 😏 <<less

Don't even bother with this garbage.

The MC is the typical cannot harm any other, but anyone can do what they want with me type. Which just becomes even worse over time as the plot and how characters act is contrived to a ridiculous degree in the later stages.

And then my main issue with the story is how you cannot find even a single competent character, it's completely ridiculous. Every single character is so ridiculously incompetent or just so plain awful of a person that it would seem like the author... more>> feeds on the stuff.

The power dynamic of the nation and what different families and characters have the power to do makes no sense.

Author pulled this one straight out of the shitter, don't waste your time. <<less

Until volume 3, the story is actually entertaining. As if it reaches the end of volume 4, it kinda went downhill.

It felt like a new season of tv series where the writer has been changed. A lot of characters development inconsistencies. Like throwing new characters without good pivot, one might say. Being dense is good, but purposely making MC dense, so the hype will be spectacular is kinda atrocious. All the supporting characters saying the MC dense, and none of them lay it out for the MC. Which is mind... more>> boggling.

Some of the relationship is so shallow, and that includes MC's bond with every girl despite all that focus on the female characters that has been progressed nicely within the first three volumes. So much potential. And a sudden yuri development, which is shallow fan service where none of the real progress is happening. They don't talk about feelings, and if they do, it was sorry-insert-statement. And all the point of confessing in the first place, just went poof.

Inconsistent characters, throwing out new shallow but supposingly deep characters, kinda threw me off. But there's some good stuff in this, especially you will fell how despicable and worrying society they have, and I think the author has made tremendous job. Felt like gritting my teeth over and over, and would say exceptionally happy when MC pulls through. But the thing is it really shines just the first three volumes.

After that, I feel like it bothers me with this characters. I understand the society is despicable and stuff, but I shouldn't be feeling the same to all the MC and other characters now do we? <<less

Firstly I apologize if I make any grammatical errors and mistakes

Boi! This is one of the best isekai ever! Honestly does all 1 rating reviewers here

REALLY read the novel and understands it? MC is also one of the best protagonist in the isekai stories yeah sometimes he's hypocrite by the way of his thinking but his actions betrays it he is not really a coward likes 1 rating reviewers said if anything he is the one that do all the works for that kingdom, some 1 rating reviewers said that... more>> he is a beta for not kills the enemies lol he kills if necessary and not kills for fun.. The peoples he didn't kill is an important person so their existence is necessary, He is not really looking down on himself to the others but feels inferiority to his harem who will becomes a great persons in the future bcus he thinks that he will drags them down and steals their happiness but in the end he accepts their loves.. Gotta says the harem is actually done right. All the characters have their own's personalities and not a bland characters. The harem is not useless likes any other isekai stories and not forced romance either. The MC is not a beta and p*ssy, coward such as any other isekai stories MCs. His character developed well. I thought the Prince and his friends will be dumbs until the end of story but nope they got develops as the story progresses and not rushing, they are actually kinds but naives and easily manipulated also pushover. MC somehow got dragged in their sh*t and cleans their messed. The harem also fills with all the kind, cute, beautiful, and sweet girls and useful and helpful for the MC. MC is cunning, smart, kind (in evil way except for his harem), hard working, sly, humble (sometimes arrogant if it necessary), responsible, misunderstood, determines and caring. For Maria there are many haters for her but she got what she deserved after forced MC to finished the game that led him to his deathbed.
    • Spoiler

She already got chased out from her parent's house and got left by her husband and raised a child alone without her parents to helps. After that. She got reincarnated just to be in debts bcus of her new parents in isekai. In reality she's not really hating his brother but she has a brother complex, she just wants to be spoils by his brother (Leon) but he always ignored her and harshed on her that was why she messed with him to attracted his attentions before reincarnation.

      [collapse]
She gets better after that tho.. Idk what to say anymore but this novel is amazing.. MC also given up on his easy life as a commoner bcus he always get promoted by the bastard King but well the King also a necessary existence since he is the factor of MC's harem growing in numbers <<less

This is the kind of story that gets worse as you keep on going.

The story is full of idiots, or simply put it, unrealistic characters that don't use their brains.

That incudes MC who is basically, lazy, overpowered idiot whose actions have no consequences since his overpowered mech deals with everything for him. His overpowerness also compltely destroys the power system of the novel. In second volume there is already the most powerful enemy that MC encountered in the game and yet MC still doesn't struggle with him even for a... more>> second. This got boring really really fast. (there is also that part that MC also wants to be a hero who doesn't want to kill anyone... well I guess since he is invincible he can afford it but I really see no point to this character trait that doesn't fit the rest of his character either)

The worst however is the world setting that is really painful to read. Maybe it's alright for otome game to have such world setting but since MC is reincarnated into this world and this world becomes real therefore it has to follow a common sense and order. <<less

If you're going in expecting something fresh or even plain old entertainging skip this LN right now. Apart from an interesting premise (a matriarchy is never/almost never a setting for a LN) and a couple singular instances which take place mostly at the begining which are done ok-ish, this LN manages to f*ck up spectacularly on almost every level. It's just your run of the mill isekai tr*sh that put on a fancy hat and is pretending not to be a generic isekai story. Harem, op MC, self righteous MC,... more>> actions with no consequences, zero attention to detail, one dimensional characters and I could gon on and on. Oh, by the way don't mistake my praise for the interesting setting premise with proper execution of said setting (the way it's presented is laughably bad and s*upid). Reading this story was like watching a car crash in slow motion. <<less

The novel is great, is pretty hilarious with how the MC acts, as how concious he is of himself and the world he is in, this only has otome in name, and I find nice how the MC is, scumbaggy, lazy and only when needed he does act, since that is a really usual and real way to deal with stuff, one only sees when is directly in front, one could say, and it doesnt matter that the world he is in is ilogical, because its meant to be like... more>> that from the get go, its stablished that it is like that and MC DOES find it weird and goes against it, hence his plan of being demoted and living peacefully with a regular and commoner girl in his island, and MC is not op by himself, he is good and all but not OP, he got the OP item that he knew about but it goes beyond it and he does not use it as much as one could think aside from side stuff like later in proffiting from gambling using Luxon to scout and predict all, I love how cynnical but grounded he is and how it shows with his gambling problem and how he says "I hate gambling but I love winning" and "Im a coward because I fight when I know I cant lose", it just shows a really clear mindset and specially in second half of volume 1 with certain event that shows how aware he is just about all <<less

Moreover, what the freaking hell is wrong with everyone in this novel!? He save their ass over and over agin, but they still call him tr*sh try to kill him again and again. Does it even make any sane!? And the noble and king as well as... more>> the prince, what the hell are you guys even doing!? The higher the expectations the bigger the disappointed.

Good art.

Good story.

OP MC that can destroy the world but let his enemy go until the last second when hundreds of people are died and his friends are seriously injured.

The root of the problem is that selfish girls reincarnated as mobs try to steal the Heroine position but they are not strong, pure or beautiful as the Heroine so it lead to a big mess end in a disaster.

The story plays out like your typical power fantasy isekai. There's obviously nothing wrong with that if you're just looking to enjoy the story for what it is but ... more>>
Spoiler

the quality takes a nose-dive after volume 3 when the MC crosses the line from being an overpowered underdog to just being overpowered period. Romance progression in this story also gets really messy around that time.

Alright I want to address some of the erroneous reviews on here. Some of you seem to be under the assumption that the world-building in this story is bad due to poor writing. You are missing the entire premise of the story. Seriously, read the title of the novel before you decide to write crappy reviews. This is an isekai about a boy who gets pulled into a poorly written game catered towards young girls. The fact that the world-building sucks is intentional and is constantly pointed out by the MC. Imagine you are a girl and you get pulled into the world of a gross harem anime catered towards young boys. Your first thought would be "Wow, this really sucks and is kind of sexist." That's basically the gimmick of the story. <<less

This is the world where nearly all the disadvantages of being female become males', females get most of the advantages males got during feudal era, the difference is that males still have disadvantages and responsibilities they usually had during history and females have the same responsibilities with men still doing most of the shit. Basically feminist paradise. The protagonist is strong but it's the AI he owns is overpowered is a more correct thing to say. The problem with this novel is the like many other Japanese ones: MC is... more>> lazy, unambitious and takes too much sh*t from people around him when he has immense power at his disposal. Many of the problems he and the people he cares about are facing could easily be solved by him, but his meekness and fear of standing out prevent him from doing that. Some new problems are created for the same reason. At volume 3 MC is becoming super annoying with his passiveness and out of place kindness, he get pushed around, arrested and yet he still seems loyal like a dog towards kingdom... yep that shitty kingdom. This novel is a good example of why Chinese novels became popular so fast even though they don't lack garbage either. <<less

This novel is interesting.

many people that read this novel realized that there is something weird in the world setting, like social hierarchy, but I disappointed that they stopped reading until it's properly explained and disliked the novel because of that.

In this novel the women seems like has higher standing in the social hierarchy ladder. Many readers made some misconceptions and thought that the kingdom that the MC is at adopted matriarchy as their political system, but it is not, it's actually patriarchy, even tho the king is a tr*sh and... more>> afraid of the queen (apparently the queen origin is stronger than the kingdom and they need to cooperate because of mutual threat), they adopted patriarchy as their political system.

Apparently the royalty kinda brainwashed their young nobles using the academy and made some rules that'll benefits the girls and give some pressure to the boys. Their aim is to weakening the feudal lords bit by bit using the women and they wanted to use that to switch to centralized authoritarian rule.

I think the logic is like this

Women (no real political power) + preferential treatment -> haughty attitude + wasteful -> Weakening the feudal lord (Men with actual political power) in mental and monetary aspects -> no power to rebel -> easier to getting rid to switch to centralized authoritarian rule.

The story is fun and many interesting stuff with new perspective and concept like that.

I especially enjoyed the Marie Route side story. ? <<less

The only Japanese novel in NU (currently on going) that actually makes sense with its world-building. And before you scream "ILLOGICAL FEMINISM", please first read the first volume properly, and understand that the story is hinting at an overarching plot line ot plot twist that might blow our minds. Other than that, the writing, dialogue, and characters are all... Well, I wouldn't say it's good, but it isn't really bad either. Easily the best out of the current JP novels on NU, but still just on par. Eh. 4/5.

This is great isekai, I put this as same league as death flag, top novel grade.

Story about man who reincarnated into kind-of-wtf otome game, with woman has higher hierarchy than man. MC who actually enjoying his life at first, almost sold out by his parent to old-hag noble to become her plaything. Then story began more interesting as time goes. MC actually lazy, but he's always try solving his problem whenever he is in pinch. Pretty rational action in my opinion.

Other character, I could say they have good detail and seems has personality, I can smell drama already and I love it (same reason why I like death flag).

World building slighty weird and foreshadowing. I mean in this world has magic, im okay with the setting of floating island but as fantasy it would be okay with dragon riding knight, or magicraft. However, this novel mix sci fi and fantasy without clear boundary between them. MC find galactic airship which is actually 'premium' item in this game yet in the lastest chapter heroine (olivia) isnt confused, curious or anything regarding robot.. Just like its normal in this world. Just, dont tell me demon gonna ride a gundam or use terminator-type demon to destroy humanity in future LOL.

About plot, you can guess.. Atho as mob MC want to keep the storyline in check yet it messed up by certain selfish girl. This is rather interesting because MC has chance taking world protagonist as his wife. And the selfish girl is actually MC litle sister in previous life

Overall, this is so much enjoyable and refreshing to read + almost daily translated now (And its have illustration too yay). If I could rate 10/5 lol.
