At the center of the world, on Mount Olympus, the King of Gods, Zeus, smiled and looked down on the realms with his Spear of Lightning tightly in his hand. Before him were a pantheon of deities.

At the Silver Hall in the north, Odin overlooked the world on his Almighty Throne, with Gungnir in hand. In his eyes were an endless field of wind and snow.

On the Nile River in the south, Amon who was at the helm of his sun boat cast his eyes toward the Aegean Seas, at his feet were a mountain of bones.

In the land of the two rivers, Marduk, the Lord of Light and Wisdom, held the eternal fire and gazed upon the Western Lands. King Gilgamesh, his hero, brought to Greece his oracle, and his ships covered the seas as far as the eyes could see.

Finally, at Plato Academy, a youngster named Su Ye walked up a mountain and reached its summit.

Solid novel. With great potential.

The MC is likeable, side characters and interactions are cool as well. Same with plot. There's also some comedy mixed in between, but from what I've seen it is that kind of a story that gets serious when it needs to be serious, while children squabbles (e.g. School tournaments) will have more of a comedic feel thanks to MC's actions. If you have read The World's Best Martial Artist up to c350 then the two moods execution is close enough.

The author adds a lot of irl... more>> lifehacks into the mix that are not made up, he probably practices all this stuff and wanted to share it with others. Those who are in the known will enjoy this realism.

I'd say more, but it has been a few weeks before it got added to NU.

Unfortunately qidian refuses to translate good novels. This one was not picked from trial novels. It's way better than Plague Doctor, Mages Are Too OP, Custom Made Demon King or Midnight Bookstore (who likewise are solid trial novels that have not been picked). <<less

THIS IS SO GOOD

using SWOT analysis and applying it in real life (for the MC ofc) is a mind blowing thing for me, especially when I have forgotten it when I have used it in the past

using it in an epic fantasy action novel is a novel thing too!

... more>> too bad qidian doesnt have enough foresight to use this opportunity

MTL, here we go!

Eddit c92: I cant believe how interesting it is by learning back 'method of learning' by a fictional character using fictional examples lol

edit c510: rating now 4.5, previously 5

the war arc was a bit boring, MC too steamrolls everything and no interesting fight

but at ch500, motivational speaker in another world lol <<less

This is an average cultivation novel hidden (badly) in European clothes. You have everything: a MC that is 'really mature and cruel and intelligent for his age' and that has multiple OP cheats, a random beautiful woman that is impressed by the MC, a young master that enters in a conflict with the MC that escalates quickly:

Spoiler

Basically the young master and his gang try bullying the MC, saying that he's a fool an being quite annoying, even phisically. So what does the MC do? Does he make fun of them with some wordplay? Does he threateningly tell them to stop? Does he reason with them and seek support from a teacher? Nah he f*cking punches the young master until he bleeds. Then he proceeds saying things like: "if I didn't hit him he would've continued" earning the admiration of the beautiful woman.

Maturity 999/100

Of course the young master continues (mission failed successfully) and brings... his father in!

Bruh.

Of course the MC hides his strength and connections so that the father feels superior. He half-pays half-threathens the MC into submission and, surprise!

The MC was hiding his strength all along.

Luckily it doesn't end in a bloodbath (for now), but it is still s*upid.

Still, people who like 'righteous' vengeance will love this

[collapse]

Then there are things like the fact that the MC excessively hids his talent so that he won't receive resources, but whatever.

Now, let's see how it differs from the standard cultivation novel.

First of all the MC instead of using willpower, he uses the much better 'method'. That's how he justifies his arrogance.

Then bloodlines are called 'spirit talents'.

Then Qi is called magic.

Finally nobody ever says cultivation and instead says 'absorb divine power' or things like that.

Another issue I found are the little holes in worldbuilding like the fact that the MC has a better meditation technique (but like by a s*upidly huge margin) because 'on Earth they had 2000 years to develop it', while on this planet only 300. Well, on Earth your entire existence doesn't revolve around the fact that you're able to better meditate, while there goddamnit, it does! In these 300 years meditation techniques would have made huge strides since everyone would research them since ther damn livelihood would depend on it!

But maybe I'm being too harsh: the characters aren't too bad, they're semi-realistic and it is quite enjoyable to read.

Still it isn't on the same level of Lord of the Mysteries. By a large margin. <<less

This novel has an interesting concept mixing both ancient greece knowledge, greek mythology and magic, in a quite adictive story!

The Author seems quite knowledgeable on these subjects and thus there are lots of phylosophical concepts and thinking methods during the early chapters. Thus, the first chapters are more about explanations of the world's concepts, without lots of fights and thus, the pace is quite slow.

But, there is a deep storyline and the "cultivation" levels are clear and based on the mythology, from normal humans to demi god, like Hercules,... more>> to later on, different levels of Gods. Lots of characters from Homer's odyssey are represented as warriors and known Greek philosophers such as Socrate or Plato, are represented as magicians (more or less).

The story has also other "empires" such as Persians, Egyptians or Northern Europeans with their respective mythology representatives, leading to a complex world.

The MC is quite hard working and was already a genius before arriving in this world, so you never really feel that he is dumb. His goldenfinger is also quite OP, but quite often, the MC never fights to 100%, which unfortunatly leads to almost no surprises with the results of the fights.

There is a main antagonist and he tries to kill the MC several times, but because of the differences between their two social class, the MC never really dare to really fight back until he

fakes his death arround the 700 chapters even if he dared to kill one quite early on

. It is a point that can be a bit annoying in this novel as "asristocrates" are too much untouchable while commoners really too weaks, leading to some expected drama.

There isn't a real romance, more like a flirt between the MC and annother character, and nothing really progress, even after 800 chapters... which is good and bad. I didn't really care and it's never really annoying.

Surprisingly, the story is better and better the further you read, and even at chapter 800, the world building continue to go deeper, and if you want to go further with the mtl chapters, the quality is quite ok.

For sure, lots of concepts of this novel are taken from Greek history and mysticisms, or from some modern era, so it'll never be a 5/5, but more like a solid 4.5/5, and definitly worth to try reading it! <<less

Short: A world where All of the European myths exist on the same era. There are Gods in the world. MC is transmigrated with a cheat into a 16 year old. He is the intellectual type. MC cheats is quite mysterious right now, But looks like it related to Godhood. 2 cultivation system right now, Fighter and Mage, MC learning Magic at a school. Extremely good Arc regarding the School. I really like it because unlike most of the novels this guy doesn’t have a plot armour, He has to... more>> do sh. It to get out of trouble. And not divine intervention, And this is a novel with Living GODS so that says a lot. You will love it More if you’re particularly interested in Myths.

Long:
World: There are tons of Gods/Demigods from Myths from the European And African continent currently in the world all at the same time. Because of it the all of the cultures are uniquely influenced and mixed. The current story revolves around the Ancient Greece. The MC is in Magic school. And it actually feels like a school rather than those usual school arc that are there just to power up MC’s basic.

Cultivation: There are two types mentioned Fighters and mages, Mages are relatively new, So it hasn’t developed that much. The goal of it is to become Demigods as Mention of becoming a deity seems to be blasphemy.

MC: MC is the intellectual type, He prefers to solve his problems using his head, And in quite unique ways. He doesn’t seem to have a great plot armour, No bs luck that will suddenly get him out of trouble. He uses his brain but doesn’t feel like an inhuman person.

There quite few side characters that are really good, And the Author seems to focus equally on both sides, Hope he doesn’t throw them away after MC powers up.

Overall surprisingly it feels like nothing happened and so much happened at the same in this 40 chapters. The Concept with The MC and cheat might do wonders. The author seems to have researched a lot about thinking and self reflection. A lot of things you can reflect About. Anyway its a great read. ? by: Shadowdracul <<less

I stopped reading ~200 chapter before the end since both versions of machine translation became unreadable.

Overall the novel gave me a weird impression. It's like a good author came up with the plot, wrote key episodes, some subplots, characters and their interactions by himself, but then he called his ghostwriter and told him to fill the rest of the novel with horrible mary sue fanfic-tier writing, similar to 97% of novels listed on this site. Not only those parts are horrible, they even contradict the points author is trying to... more>> make.
Spoiler

For example MC is supposed to achieve greatness because of his mindset, learning capabilities and the lifehacks he got from the books like "10 important steps to success", but in fact he is just steamrolling everyone because of the insane positive feedback loop he got from his goldfinger. When his cheats are not enough he gets saved by someone.

[collapse]

I gave this novel 5 stars because the good parts are good and, even if I take into account the horrible parts, overall quality is still ok, which is better than most of the novels here.

However, unless someone translates at least 70% of the novel, it is not worth reading. Getting through bad episodes with mtl is a torture, don't do it. <<less
