Actually 4.5, but since many give a lower rating I round it up to 5.

Wall of text.

The story follows a young child on her journey to survive after neglected by her parents after knowing she has a no-star job.

... more>> MC is weak, has not much mana and physical power because she is still a child. She survived mainly by avoiding danger so if you expect a lot of battle and become stronger then you might be disappointed.

She has a memory of previous life, but the main consciousness still a child. The previous life memory only affects her way of thinking slightly.

The writing, as if following MC childish train of thought, is very simple and compromised by short sentences. Even I was shocked when I read it at first, but after a while, I found it pretty enjoyable.

There is some weird point I found in the world building but it fit the story so I think it is fine.
Edit: The world-building is pretty unique. It becomes more "make sense" in the later chapters.

I still in the middle of the journey of this series, might update the rating later if I found something worth changing the rating for.

Edit: I have reached the latest chapter and hungry for more. The journey still long I believe, considering the pace of storytelling. Still nice though since the author updates it every one or two days. Hope many would like this series too. <<less

Pros:

    1. Easy read.
    1. Likable main character
    1. Cohesive world (No gaps in common sense)
    1. Fluffy world which has a steady sense of progression
Cons:

    1. Quite slow
    1. Lack of initiative from MC
    1. World building is quite slow
This story is more like a slice of life. The focus is on the survival of the MC. There aren't anything extravagant but it is quite enjoyable. It is more suited if you want something slow to chew on. The MC makes you want to root for him which makes it worthwhile. There is a lot of dumpster diving done here and it is quite interesting

Started really cute and good read, especially with such a loveable and hard-working MC that you would really root for. Like, you go girl :)

It was a 4-5 for me.

That is, until the japanese food comes flooding in volume 3 and all the story's charm disappeared for me. Now it's just another one of those novels overglorifying japanese home cooking.
Rice? check. Soy Sauce? check. Miso? check.
...... Isekai.

I definitely have some mixed feelings about this story. The problem is that it is just boring, there wasn't anything that I found particularly offensive or anything. But its like nothing interesting really happens. I'm usually really into these slow-paced fluff type of stories too but its like this one just isn't clicking with me.

I think my problem is that the protagonist just doesn't have a goal. He has no intention of training the slimeball nor does he want to improve himself in any way with the exception of earning... more>> enough money to feed himself and that slime. I'm just very confused by the intentions of the story. What is being even accomplished here?!

yes he gradually learns more about the wildlife and his pet slime but it's not like he actively seeking this info but rather just comes from experience. I suppose there's the mystery of what the hashtag mess after the tamer title means but honestly at this point I don't even care anymore. <<less

5 stars!

A very fantastic isekai novel

Why is this novel not well known??!!!!

I cried every chapters cause it was too painful imagining the child trying to live alone, making traps, hiding from monsters, searching for her foods, anxious from other human

Sighhhhh it's so sad

I mean it wasn't as sad as I said, I'm just a huge softie

It's a sightly different isekai from other that makes it very unique

I totally recommend to read this

I expected this to go slowly, but after over a dozen chapters of catching rats with traps, finding potions in a garbage dump (because for some reason the containers can't be reused) and weirdly deep explanations of low grade potions and their containers, it does get boring.

Maybe there's more development later on, but judging from other reviews, that doesn't seem to be the case. Literally nothing happens. There's no real danger, no interaction beyond selling a few animals caught in traps, and no progression in sight.

Dialogues are summed up in... more>> a paragraph, but somehow repeatedly searching the garbage dumps with practically the exact same results each time deserves several chapters. That is in the title of the novel, but I didn't expect that there wouldn't be anything else that would be significant.

The writing isn't horrible aside from the plot not moving forward and the premise isn't bad either, but if this novel ever does take off, it's taking too long to do so.

The translation quality doesn't impact the rating I'm giving this novel, but it's also pretty bad, to the point that grammatically correct sentences become the exception. It's understandable, but not enjoyable to read. <<less

Told by the point of view of the young girl. So the writing is a bit childish, but it is a nice easy read right before going to bed.

I think if you just want to relax in the evening with a simple read, do so. It'll bring a small smile to your face.

I have no idea where this story is going, but it's a really lovely low-key slice of life for a girl with an extraordinary life. It touches on some pretty dark themes, but the tone is still overall light and upbeat.

Lovely SoL story, with an MC who behaves both rationally, & like a child (e.g. Her rationality is limited by the constraints of who the current her actually is & is only "informed by" the minimal recollections of her first life).

Would rate 5* but the missing one is a protest against Foxteller's blocking of hotkeys which I use to navigate between tabs/windows.

This was quite the surprise to me. Although I do like slice of life novels a lot of times they tend to get boring or the novel’s “world” will seem very bland with unnecessary side characters. This novel on the other hand is quite good. So far I’m not bored at all. In fact I’m really into the story. I love the character development of the MC, her personality is amazing and she feels like she’s quite mature but still her age. I honestly love her character, and how the... more>> world build was done. I also love how it has hints of mystery and I get to look forward to where her journey will take her, what’s the story behind her powers, and the world she lives in. Honestly really like it and recommend others to give it a try. I have high hopes for this, I hope I won’t be disappointed. <<less

The story has it quirks. It's a slow burn and often feels like it lacking in some areas. However I like it for that, it doesn't rush on the story at all. It tells the story in a natural and progressive way. If you skip the side stories, it feels like you're reading about someone's life. Their views are limited and you're learning aside them.

The story is also a bit of a tear jerker. At times I would begin to cry because it had hit a certain cord in my... more>> heart. The MC is a person who is quite hesitant, being alone for 4 years and only trusting one person, she became quite the hermit. There are times where I wish she could push herself a bit more. But I do deeply understand where she is coming from. <<less

This is a heartwarming relaxing story. I generally like it a lot but the author is horrible at world-building, one of the main pillars of the whole story makes no sense at all. The MC feeds her slime with potions, potions are expensive and difficult to make yet she finds them by the dozen at the dump because people throw them away before they go bad. But why? Everyone there owns magic storage bags with time-stop... The MC herself actually uses such bags to preserve the potions.

Everything in the world... more>> is depending on how many stars of a certain profession one is born with. Basically there is no free choice what someone can become. But, in some cases, it’s totally okay to do something different and be succesful at it, how? In other cases there isn’t and it’s impossible to work for example as a carpenter without the skill star, there is absolutely no logic behind all this. (You theoretically can work as a carpenter but everything you make will automatically be destroyed after two weeks).

The story at least tries to explain why people throw stuff like swords away, because monsters drop them so it’s easier to just replace them instead of having them repaired. However that explanation must have been made up by the author on that spot because until then no monster ever dropped anything, there is also no clear distinction between monster and animal in the first place. I think at least such things should have been rewritten for the light novel version.

Also, “everyone” (except the one’s who aren’t) is too nice to Ivy. Sure, she is a little kid so they might feel protective however they also don’t talk to her or treat her like a small child most of the time otherwise. The whole way people interact with her just doesn’t feel realistic to me. However I admit it’s still nice to read about people who are so nice and caring.

People Ivy met suggested she gets a companion because they thought she travels alone and is defenseless. But Ivy has one of the strongest monsters in the world at her side. She does in fact get a human companion in vol. 3, since it’s a 30something guy I personally am not too happy about it, especially since he can’t fight well anymore, anyways. <<less

I read ahead on an MTL site, so I've seen a bit of this story...

It's a weird world, where instead of re-smelting swords, they are tossed into the garbage, despite a cultural buildup of tr*sh that's problematic. There is a near complete absence of the current culture of using a very small number of slowly digesting slimes to reduce the waste, yet it is their primary waste disposal method, according to this story; basically, the world makes no sense. Some author is keeping blinders on his eyes and pretending that... more>> repercussions don't exist when it's convenient to the plot.

After about chapter 100, it devolves into a Dog Gamn "ermigerd look I'm jap and I can cook tasty food and wow everybody loves tasty food. wow, umai, delicious, amazing" story. And I finally quit this story after they started patenting basic food recipes. I mean, patent law is a root cause of the general society's lack of empowerment and the perversion of medical and R/D efforts from human-need based into corporate soul-sucking based industry (IRL), so I'm already predisposed to hating patents in fiction, but they're patenting FOOD RECIPES in an era in which everyone is afraid of the monsters that live outside of the walls; completely implausible.

How many jap stories must claim that rice is animal feed and it becomes a revolution when the humans start eating it? So absurd. They're trying to make the MC seem special with this implausible cheap trick again...

Frankly, I think that it's fluff. If you like fluff, then let the effeminate male author fluff you. <<less

I like this one because it's a slow life and despite being a slow story, it is still full of content.

I really hope it doesn't get dropped again.

I had been looking for a new book to read and then I saw this thinking that the main character was going to be somewhat like Mary Sue (I don't know who she is but people always refer to her when talking about overpowered MC's) and get really powerful but she didn't. The only thing I would say could count as a cheat to her is Sora and the books she got from the fortune teller. Even know she doesn't have much power she still manages to pull through I... more>> think that is why this story is so good. <<less

Good, its your typical Slice of life-Adventure novel. The progress is walking slowly but surely and its not boring (atleast for me lol) because I didn't hate slow-paced story'and I love Slice of life theme. So well, if you like slow paced story' with Slice of life theme and a little bit of adventure, then you got it right.

The story starts off well with the protag and her lovable pet. It eventually stalls and gets bogged down in a circular plot that progresses an inch each chapter. The essence and charm of the story is lost and becomes a boring slog.
