The main character goes to fight the demon king alone and dies but reincarnates as a nobles daughter. In this life she promises to live more freely without caring for anything other people say. This novel promises a lot of fun and delivers just that but what turned me off are the dialogues. It's written like a Chinese novel where characters talk like children and need to explain their every move to their enemies. Also the sister plot was stretched way too much ... more>>

Premise is interesting but the quality of the dialogue and narration is beginner level. The events up until now have been mostly tropey, flaunting the MC's OPness.

There's not enough chapters out yet so I'll tentatively round up to 4 stars for now in the hopes that it gets better.

Synopsis

The MC was a master-of-all-trades, because the hero's party was useless and he had to pick up all the slack to defeat the demon king. In a surge of frustration with the useless, infuriating hero and his band of female lackeys he decides to solo the demon king himself - and the mad lad actually succeeds - but unfortunately at the cost of his death. To his luck he is reincarnated as a delinquent noble girl attending a premier academy, right after his death in the same world.

Whats follows is... more>> an academy arc, thanks to the girl being a downtrodden noble with a bad reputation, who has been dumped by the crown prince. Now, (s) he has decided to fix their shotty reputation in this new life and maybe teach the hero a lesson for being such a slacker in his previous life. As he gets his bearings in the academy, he also catches strange news the 4 heavenly generals of the demon king are still sending troops, almost as if the demon king somehow survived.....

Review

All of this might sound fairly generic and like a plot you might have read before, but there are some fun plot twists in this story if you read past my little synopsis. The gender bender doesn't initially play a big part in the first dozen chapters, but it starts to later - especially the MC's interactions with her past fiancé the crown prince and the hero's party.

Regardless, it's still fun to see the MC defy expectations with her (relative to the academy) OP past life experience, while not being out of line with the power scaling in the story. The author has managed to keep the story from getting boring, so it seems like a good casual read. Really - I recommend you read past the first dozen chapters because the story starts to pick up in a lot of ways.

Translation

The translation is a little rough the first dozen chapters, but it gets a fair amount better. As of chapter 23 its very readable - not perfect by any stretch, but readable.

All of this might sound fairly generic and like a plot you might have read before, but its still well written for what it is - the author has a pretty good writing style and keeps the pacing going nicely. The gender bender doesn't really play a big part if you've come for that, although the MC's past fiance the crown prince comes to bother her a lot after her antics. Regardless, it's still fun to see the MC defy expectations with his OP past life experience. The author has managed to keep the story from getting boring, so it seems like a good casual read.

I'm also only reviewing this at chapter 10, so its possible some even crazier twists are in the pipeline - besides the strange happenings with the demon king hinted at so far :)

The translation is readable, though has its fair share of mistakes given that it's machine translated. Sometimes it's hard to tell who is talking due to bad punctuation or phrasing. It hasn't been egregious enough to affect my enjoyment of the story though, and I'm just glad someone has taken up translation at all.
