this story is getting on my nerves. Yuki is projecting her old friend onto Rachel. That's all she's doing. Not once have they asked Rachel if this is truly what she wanted. They assume and force onto her, their opinions and because her character was made out to be dumb as shit, she just believes them and follows them.

currently, Yuki is trying to help Rachel "find her path in life" when imo she is also forcing her down a path herself. She refuses to tell Rachel anything of importance and... more>> assumes that she knows best. You can see in chapter 33 how she withholds information from Rachel. She's not a child, she can make her own decisions. It is hypocritical of her character to do so when apparently Yuki hated Edward for manipulating Rachel. She is doing the same thing.

Makoto is a pushover btw. <<less

It about 2 lovey dovey couple their friends has destroy their relationship by telling them that they don't fit over and over again - I like how this always happen in real life. The MC is the most feminine girl you will ever see but other then loving the ML she has nothing else and can't do anything - even washing dishes.

The ML is a sly prince that will do everything that is in his best interest, then the country best interest, but in front of the MC he is... more>> just a doting lover.

The MC can't afford to lose the ML because she have nothing else, the ML don't want to let her go but feel guilty for masking his true self in front of her.

One of the novels that everything could have been better if they did nothing. <<less

Dropping this at ~50chapters.

Yuki and Makoto, the original game's heroines, perfectly exemplify the old adage 'with friends like these, who needs enemies'.

They are, by turns: *impulsive *naive *pushy *rude *entitled. A very toxic c*cktail of character traits. I've met middle-school kids who are more thoughtful and mature than these two.

... more>> Rachel's character is more fledged out and realistic but that doesn't make it any more pleasant to read about.

People struggle with old attachments and with finding meaning in their lives but it takes a better writer than this author to make it a good read.

The translation is the only reason I gave this 2 stars instead of one. I have no complaints over the translation quality.

But the translator's website is sketchy as f*ck.

New readers should be aware that there are not only a mountain of adds and popups but also random redirects.

The translator deserves a better host. Hopefully they will find one. <<less

It's bad.

Its premise is quite interesting, the 'villainess' who is adored by the prince then develop some doubt after meeting the heroine. But oof, the story telling is very very slow with a lot of unnecessary repeated scenes / dialogues / monologues.

The 'villainess' herself, imo is quite annoying. Sure, she's a sweet, reserved, and caring girl. But her indecisiveness plus the prolonged 'I'm so pitiful' period is just too much for me. Though, once again I'm sure it's the author's fault because they could just tell us how much she... more>> despaired instead of prolonging it.

Okay, after those long, boring and painful doubt chapters, of course we finally saw her leave the prince. What's after that? Slice of life? New romance? Adventure? Nope!! It's another boring chapters with boring storytelling, no comedy, meh drama, romance that isn't sweet at all, etc.

TLDR: author is ng with storytelling.

Thanks translator for your hard work translating this novel, but I'm dropping this novel. <<less

Imagine you ordered a cup of tea and the waiter gives you a treasure hunting map instead. You go along with the map to find your tea but the map was confusing and with many twists and turns that did not make sense. This was what I felt reading this novel.

I really want to continue, but it is SO hard. The decisions the FL makes does not make sense. The supporting characters, the transmigrated characters, purpose in this novel is confusing. It feels like there is no direction as to... more>> where the novel is supposed to go and the characters (both personality and purpose) are not well made...

The best way to describe this novel is; a drafted script that is in the process of becoming a novel. <<less

Um, the narrative is confusing as hell, the MC does absolutely nothing except crying and cry for the scumbag ML, the two supporting FLs’ behavior makes to sense and the midwife gives me bad vibes. I’m dropping this asap.

I tried so hard to understand the reason for Yuki and Makoto’s little plot but I can’t seem to understand why.

Yuki’s character make me frustrated and Makoto’s reminds me of a child that tries to “do the right thing”.

I can’t enjoy this story. Sorry.

i like it so far, but the chapters are kind of short.

I get the feeling that the prince doesn t really love the FL. But I do wonder what kind of reaction he will have, if she escaped from his grasp

Spoiler

the crown prince of hazrat, edward, purposely got rachel pregnant before they were even married as a way to keep rachel by his side. He's yan/obsessive but hides that and only shows a doting and caring side to rachel.

makoto and yuki are two people who transmigrated from japan. Makoto can make magical objects and yuki has healing magic. They encourage and help rachel run away from edward because they know about his hidden dark side. Yuki especially is worried about rachel because rachel reminds her of her friend back in japan.

rachel also has vague memories of the "game" plot. In it, edward hates her so much that he frames her just so he has an excuse to kill her. In the "game, " if you chose to play yuki as the main character, edward would end up marrying her, and if you chose makoto, makoto would stay by edward's side but for some reason they wouldn't be married.

rachel has many doubts about edward's true personality, about the "game" progression and her future, and about what she wants for herself -- she's frustratingly indecisive. Yuki convinces rachel to run away with her, and makoto helps the two of them escape to just within the border of the next kingdom. Rachel gives birth to a boy but then passes out, and her soul separates from her body and enters the body of lyra, a girl in yakumo (another kingdom) who was collapsed by a lake in a forest. Rachel, as lyra, finds edward in her vicinity near death and saves him, but he doesn't recognize her. They return to hazrat and lyra remembers that she was an assassin.

it's later revealed that the goddess of this world, for some unexplained reason, loved rachel so much that because rachel was hesitant about being the crown princess, the goddess pulled makoto and yuki over to this world to help rachel escape from the crown princess position. In order to save rachel, who was on the brink of death after giving birth, the goddess merged her soul with lyra's, as lyra also happened to be on the brink of death at the same time. Unfortunately, only one soul can survive in the end and the other will die.

because their souls are now sharing lyra's body, lyra mostly controls her own body and thoughts, but she's also able to give input on rachel's anxieties. Makoto and yuki discover that if they dilute truth serum into some black tea and have lyra drink it, they can talk to rachel's soul directly this way.

then it's revealed that everything was a huge misunderstanding after all -- makoto is actually a straight guy who likes girls, so there's no way that he would end up romantically involved with edward. Yuki is firmly on rachel's side because of her nostalgia for her friend from japan.

more plot twists: lyra was actually was sent by the second prince of yakumo to kill edward. The second prince, naoto, actually transmigrated from japan as well.

in her previous life in japan, rachel was still in high school when she married naoto, but lost her parents and divorced naoto before she even turned 17. Naoto blames makoto and yuki for separating rachel from him, so he killed them in revenge but accidentally fell off a cliff right after, so he also transmigrated with them to this world. He actually was even more obsessed with rachel than edward. He considered rachel as his "object" to do with however he pleased and didn't like that she was with edward. Naoto stabs lyra in the heart to free rachel. Lyra's body dies and rachel-lyra soul hybrid is returned to rachel's body.

naoto's blood has magical properties that if someone were to ingest his blood, he can control them like puppets. He controls everyone in his castle this way, and his plan is to ultimately control rachel and have her kill edward. Then he would become the ruler of the entire world with rachel by his side (he had the royalty of every kingdom drink his blood).

unfortunately for him, healing magic can cure people of his blood's magic, so when rachel + makoto + yuki + edward confront naoto and are "imprisoned, " yuki and yakumo's first prince heal everyone in the castle and everyone pretends to still be under naoto's control.

in the end, naoto is captured and imprisoned in the dungeons forever and loses his mind bc he can't accept that rachel has her own will, rachel is reunited with edward, and the king (edward's father) publicly thanks and recognizes them for saving the country. Rachel and edward's son is named alexandrite (TL translated it as "alexandorait"). Makoto continues to be edward's aide and yuki is busy abroad helping other countries for the sake of alliances. Rachel says she learned from lyra how to be more bold so that she's not so indecisive, and lyra is completely content with being dormant im rachel's body bc she is too traumatized from her past as an assassin. The end.

not plot related:

pros:

    • translation is good quality.
cons:

    • translator's website is full of ads and pop-ups.
    • plot is convoluted. Too many sudden plot twists with no purpose other than surprising readers.
    • no character growth at all.

In simplest and true sense, this novel is kinda weird. It full of crap and bull***t.I don't know if this could even be called a novel in the true sense. It is like author got some ideas and he/she just pen them down w/o even organising anything. There is literally no substance to the characters. Plot seems to be hanging and everything seems to be happening abruptly w/o any reason whatsoever. The heroine is kinda of tossed here and there. She is indecisive and the so called frnds from other... more>> dimension are living in their own imaginative world w/o any concern to what other characters feels like. They have passed their judgements w/o assessing the situation properly and in that way, they messed up everything thing.

If I could give it any negative rating, I would have done that. Only I would like to thank translator-san for his efforts.

Anyway, read it at your own risk😩 <<less

I still don't get what this novel is all about... I thought the premise was simple enough, than the plot evolved, and it kept on evolving. no resolution on anything that was established what so ever. The story of this novel, at least so far I've read has been like an endless hole where you kept on falling. When you thought some answers is going to be answered, some plot twist appeared.

Like, the premise sounded interesting, it's my cup of tea. But honestly I have no idea what's going on. Things are not explained and just happen without any logic.
Spoiler

Like what's going on? Why did she posses some random girl in the forest? What's Yuki's and Makoto's deal?

[collapse]

The MC just goes with the flow, and does whatever she's told. I can't really describe her personality, her life basically centers about the ML, like a house plant, sitting idly in his room, worrying about him leaving her. I can kind of justify it, by saying the ML controlling behavior caused her to act like this, but I don't think that was the intent of the author.
