The first princess of the Humming Kingdom, Princess Miliaria Humming, was struck by lightning and momentarily lost consciousness.

Upon regaining consciousness, she realizes that she has been living in a world similar to a female-oriented love simulation RPG game called “Concerto of the Light Princess.”

Moreover, she has a confusing recollection of being the final boss villainess who torments the heroine.

Faced with the prospect of inevitable destruction if she continues down this path, Princess Miliaria decides to concentrate on the love simulation aspect and improve herself as a woman.

However, upon further reflection, as there seems to be a death flag present, she decides to fully immerse herself in the RPG aspect.

This tale tells the misguided story of a princess who strives for ultimate power in order to eradicate the death flag in a love simulation game.

Overall not a bad "turn your brain off and read" type novel. The story, while not particularly interesting, does its job well enough and lets the reader focus more on the MC's antics. That being said, it would be remiss of me not to mention the gripe I did have with the novel.

Spoiler

I was not a fan of the ending, and it didn't feel like a payoff for what was being built up. It had a distinct "Rocks fall and everyone dies" feeling as if the author ran out of ideas halfway through. For example I was expecting the MC's sister to be relevant in some way to the plot considering how much the author talked about her in exposition, but she only makes an appearance once before the ending. It struck me as an odd use of her character, but that also could have just been me coming into the novel with the wrong expectations.

[collapse]

Personally I'd recommend reading the first few chapters to see if you like the MC. If you do like her, then read it. If you don't, then skip it because the MC is pretty much all this novel had going for it imo. <<less

wait what. That's it? That was the ending? I mean. I guess it's not *bad* but. That really felt like the end of an arc in a longer story, not the end-end, you know? Like, it feels like there would be a whole second part where the little sister gets strong too and hunts her down, culminating in a big climactic battle between light and dark, right? They seemed like they were thoroughly setting that up, but then the story just ends? Basically, the story only goes through the prologue... more>> of the otome game and ends where the game would have started... and Miliaria is still totally set up as the final boss of the game by the end of it.

Overall, the story is good, all the plot points are fun, the level grind is great, the characters are neat... but it all feels half baked, like the author only finished the rough draft and then went "YEP that's good! I'm done now, ship it! Complete, perfect!" when it's obviously not done? It's not bad so much as it's like, just the skeleton or scaffolding of what is clearly a good story. Most events in the story should have a lot more time dedicated to them, the chapters are very much too short to properly contain the events that happen in them, it's like "this happened, moving on". None of the characters have enough screen time to establish themselves or their relationships, or even their reactions to what's happening in the moment. And it really feels like the book ends before the story does. It's the bones of a good story but entirely lacking the meat of it. Basically it feels rushed, not in the "pacing is too fast" kinda way, but like the author was impatient to be done with it and didn't give it the time and attention or heck, word count it needed.

"Huh wait what really" was my honest legitimate reaction. <<less

The chapters are short and the plot is not serious.
All other characters have similar personality. There is no villains, no identity conflicts, no cliffhanger, and nothing unique about the protagonist.
It's a waste of time. 2.5/5
-1 boring plot
-1 no real challenges that can opposes the protagonist's goal
-0.5 similar side characters

Short, fun, light reading about a girl bent on getting stronger to change her fate. I'd rate it less if it actually had more words in it.
