Cheng Huan woke up and had transmigrated as the villainess female supporting character in a novel.

The female supporting character was very money-loving and used her own son as a chip to try and get into a prestigious family. Finally, the child died in an accident and the female supporting character also met her tragic fate.

Cheng Huan, who had been single her entire life, looked at the teary-eyed little boy next to her, let out a sigh of relief, and picked up the heavy burden of being a mother.

As the days went on by, the legendary child’s father showed up spontaneously!

Cheng Huan: I really don’t want to be the third wheel in your relationship!!

The spontaneously-appeared male lead: ….but there is nobody else.

  • Hello, everyone. This is my first time reviewing. Please don't mind my grammatical mistake..
  • Straight to the point :-
  • [/ I personally love childcare type novel with little bit of slice of life. This novel is quite slow paced and all about the affection between the female lead & her child. And their interaction between them is full of fluff. And Male lead is quit calm and quite witted. He know what he wants to do and what he needs. There is quite situations that I would like to know in details. Overalls, this novel is full of fluff to heal and again feel the love by heart. ]
  • There is many reasons to read this novel. But out of many reasons the one which stood out is child is never been subject to leaving over. In many chinese childcare novel child is leaving over when male lead & female lead get together.
  • There is no drama cause all the potential trouble have been uprooted by the male lead. But the slow paced story, loving mother & son interaction, slow romance, intelligent female lead, handsome but calm male lead, and last but not the least a loving cute bunny.. Is all about to be love.

Good, interesting start. The main characters are rational and the romantic development between them is realistic and believable. The child is sweet and adorable.

However, the conflicts in the story never really reach a peak. There is no true climax as the ML nip any potential sources of conflict at the bud. Stuck up mother-in-law? Just send her away. Stalking subordinate spies? Just fire them.

Due to this lack of a climax, the latter half of the novel gets increasingly boring. Throughout the first half, one of the main draws for me... more>> was the potential seed of conflict that would sprout at the appearance of the heroine from the original plot. But then you realize that the story started approximately two years before the original plotline and the protagonist and ML are already too deeply entrenched in each other's feelings, for any conflict to actually occur.

As a tradeoff for the lack of climactic conflict, the story is incredibly sweet and fluffy. It's just also kind of boring and bland once you get used to it. So much so, that I just skimmed the last few chapters. There was something about the original owner of the body the protagonist possessed, but it didn't seem all that interesting either.

Solid 4 out of 5 stars. Kudos to the author for the ML, but I just wish there were some good antagonists. <<less

Like the interaction between the FL and the son thus other is just.

What I like in this story is the ML, he's not pushy that because he has a child she should marry her. His rational, but not overbearing. But what's off is he knows that the child was suffering from his origmother, why does not he take an action?

The FL is independent, rational woman, but later part things change, especially when she's fallen in love.

Spoiler

Changing goes to the country, I where there national catastrophe with the child. In my opinion, do you really have to go there with the child, let the child go alone in the hotel.

[collapse]

The son is so pitiful. In whole story I'm sorry for him.

The ogMother? Shes really not worth soul change. <<less

I wouldn't say it's 5 star worthy but definitely not anything lower than 4 stars. The story is... sweet? The antagonists aren't over the top, the ML isn't brainlessly attracted to MC at first sight, and the MC isn't ridiculously OP. The bun is cute, the food p*rn isn't so r-rated, and the romantic plot is a gentle and more realistic development. So all in all this story is more like like warm water than the other extremes, or more like drifting on the lazy river than rafting the rapids... more>> or wading in a pool. <<less

It was a fast paced okay book. I MTLed the rest. Nothing was bad at same time nothing was special either. Maybe if the author didn't write it as fast paced then maybe I could have able to connect more with main leads. Anyways no major dramas, no clingy villains, sensible main leads, no major sub plots.. Just okay..

Recommended for quick read..

Very good until FL decided not to have another child (last, last chapter).

The story kinda plain in the middle and latest chapters. The conflict in the story also kinda mild, so, not too intoxicated for me to read, it is just the ML and his mother's conflict.

The story was fine, no major conflicts and quick problem resolutions. I'd give this a 3.5 out of 5. I actually have a lot of criticisms, but since this was meant to for light reading and just for fluffs, I guess it's fine.

It's uncommon in transmigration novels that the lead will acknowledge that since she came into the story unexpectedly, the plot will change and the characters will be different from the original story. The female lead was like that and it's nice to read something with a female lead... more>> that has common sense. She's also very practical and knows how to avoid unnecessary drama. I find the female lead to be relatable. The male lead was also sensible; he did not force the mother and son pair into setups that would make them uncomfortable.

The bun's character was a little bland. Well, actually, all the characters in the novel were static characters. The male lead's back story was very lacking. It's like the author decided to give him a sad backstory, but you don't see it being resolved satisfactorily. The fanwai or side stories were poorly written. Lastly, having another character transmigrate towards the end should have made the story more interesting, but sadly that arc's plot was poorly developed. <<less

Just finished reading the translated and MTLed version of this novel.

I don't know how I feel right now. I mean I like the interactions between father, mother and child but I feel it's lacking in some area of the story.

Still if you want to read a fluffy story about family this one I recommend. No hard dramas, 3rd party was dealt smoothly and love story was slow but smooth.

The biggest thumbs-up for me in this novel is the ML's and MC's rationality. They didn't fell in love at first sight.... more>> Their reaction and interaction on their first meeting is rational. They are very different to most cliché novels that when the ML shows up the bomb was dropped to the kid like "hey that's your father." 😂The author did a good realistic approach of the parents to the child before they drop the bomb.

Spoiler

Though our MC was quite worried about the ML and FL's love story at first and I was quite expectant to what will happen when the FL enter the scene but in the end the FL didn't show up at all. I was like... "ehhh?! Where and what happen to the original heroine??"

There is also no changes in the MC's relationship with her family. Well, by the last quarter of the novel the MC's family was slightly introduce like how is her mother, half-sister and stepfather but all of them was just a bg story of the original soul and eventhough her mother abandoned her and was now living happily with her other DAUGHTER and husband, the author just shouted "cut" and that's it, it's done. Well I just thought the story will have much more depth if the author also put some story about her family since the MC has contact with her half-sister. It was kinda sad knowing that her mother was living a fulfilled life while the MC, her daughter she abandoned, was having a hard single mom life but nadah.

[collapse]

The ending.... It is a HE but I don't feel satisfied. 🤷‍♀️

Spoiler

They got married but I feel it would be much happier if she got pregnant again. The ending of the ML's mother was kinda abrupt (maybe because it was MTLed) but it feels like I was only hearing news from a gossip. The author did not put much effort about the ML's mother and 3rd uncle. The author just put them both out of the country and been supressed and the their ending was narrated.

[collapse]

I don't know why did the author suddenly enter the original MC's "soul" back in the story.

Spoiler

Maybe just so the MC can have reason to confess everything to the ML about who she really is but still my biggest question is what happen and where is the original heroine? 😂

In my opinion the original soul appearance doesn't have any impact in the story at all. She showed up or not the ending would still be the same. It feels like she was added to make the story longer unless the author plans to make a sequel with the original soul as the MC cause her story, well I, was quite interested how it goes. Though I don't quite like her personality abandoning her child and didn't quite change at all even though she was given another chance.

Pretty similar to the other stories in this genre, but a fluffy read nonetheless. It's weird that the instant son bonded with her so quickly, but I mean he's still just a child. I also really like this MC; she's a genuinely independent woman (not those white lotuses), setting up a food stall at night to make a living as she builds up capital to open a restaurant. Other similar characters usually have some opportunity fall out of the sky, so it's nice to see a struggle.

Edit: Wait, how exaggeratedly... more>> good her food is and how beautiful she is is actually quite white lotus. Like she has a barbeque food stall; even the best Michelin chefs wouldn't be able to produce the results that she somehow seems to lmao <<less

Rated 4/5 (4.5 really but can't rate that) because the ending is a bit rushed and unsatisfactory, we don't really get to see the comeuppance of anyone beyond some minor stuff. Some of it almost feels like it was hinted at but never followed through (such as what happens with the ML's mother).

All three main characters are interesting but they're all exceptionally gifted in some way. Cheng Huan, the FL, was the granddaughter of an Imperial Chef descendant so she has godly cooking prowess. XingXing, her son, is rather smart... more>> for a 4 year old and begins simping for his dad almost immediately. Jiang MingYuan, the ML, is a gifted businessman who immediately falls in love with his son and gradually comes to love the FL (he falls first and falls hard).

Almost every bit of drama is easily solved. Even the problematic MiL is taken care of rather quickly even if we never see what the ML planned for her (as he repeatedly has people keep an eye on her). Some of the answers to the drama almost come across like the author had plans and then just forgot about them.

Overall, it's a cute story about a mom, her little bun and the baby daddy who ends up simping for both. <<less

Definitely underrated!! Its a kidfic and the romance is is slow but nice and believable. No unnecessary misunderstandings. Both ML and FL are mature and genuinely nice. The kid is a kid... not an adult in a five year old. the parenting was also really well portrayed.

Only issue I felt was the ending was a bit..... unsatisfactory... it was a happy ending... but it somehow felt incomplete. The extra for the kid was a nice touch.. but it was a little weird that even after the kid grew up into... more>> a young adult, his thought process still resembled that when he was a kid. Even if its not totally perfect... it still definitely deserves a rating above 4. Hence I'm giving a 5 to give my share of boosting up the overall rating. <<less

This novel is pure sugar and I enjoyed it only because the previous novel that I read left a bitter feeling in me. So this one was a perfect antidote.

Otherwise it is completely empty of meaning or substance or any drama. Just like white sugar is 'empty calories', lacking 'substance'. A smooth sailing for every character from the chapter one on.

A cute four year old son of the FL is absolutely adorable and is pretty much the only speck of life and love in that story. The FL and the... more>> ML are very restrained and lukewarm for their own reasons.

Spoiler

It is a story of a who*e and a gentleman, with a twist that a cook transmigrated into the body of the who*e five years after these two had paid s*x, while the whore's soul simultaneously moved into her own half sister's body.

So, the cook takes care of the gentleman's and the whore's biological child, the man falls in love with the cook, pursues her and their wedding is the end of the story.

Fairy decent on the first half, slow romance and pretty vanilla. Serving half turned dull and uninteresting. It is very alive of life but without much substance v so maybe that's why I didn't like it as much as I c thought. By the end of it I started skimming chapters and shipping to the end.

What I am bothered about is the unnecessary twist about our MC and the original MC regarding their bodies. Absolutely unnecessary and made me feel eh towards it more. Otherwise it's decent, just without much... more>> substance <<less

Looking at the summary, I feel like I had read this novel before. It has the same summary so I thought it was that novel. However, it turns out it is different. The novel I'd read is staged with the MC as an actress, and CEO ML. Since she wanted to live comfortably with her son, she tried to stay away from ML as possible as she could. Unfortunately, in certain event, they crossed and she straightly fled away in front of him. ML somewhat noticed her and took interest... more>> of her before, and when he met her at that moment, seeing her fled away from him in instant, it makes him baffled.

Well, back to the topic.

I'm reading this novel just for the romance. So, in the earlier chapter, I skipped some parts and only whole-reading it when FL and ML get their romance. Well I sort of read the interaction between MC and her son, and I only focused with their interaction not other details.

Ok, about the romance, I LOVE IT. I love the details of ML's action when courting FL. His small gestures like peck her lips, hug from behind, play with her fingers, kiss her palm, whisper in her ears, and others are really sweet! I know some cn novels had this typical man, but as many of books I've read, only this novel gives small details of ML's acts that makes me squeal. Some novels had kissing scene and hugging from behind, but only this novel adds other touchy sides! <<less

I liked how realistic the main lead characters were, and the fluffy romance and family moments were cute. The readers' comments also made this a fun reading experience, lol.

There wasn't much drama in the plot, but I'm OK with that. It's a slice-of-life story with a not-too-domineering CEO male lead and a strong female lead who can take care of herself and her child. Overall, quite enjoyable.

My favorite side character has got to be Qi Shan. XD ... more>>

I love this story so much!!

I thinks it feels more realistic and grounded than many other instant-family trope novel.

The ML is a top favorite for sure, the way he was depicted actually represented his mature and respectful personality. Most of all I love how caring and affectionate he is with his son, I've seen many other male leads that only dote on their daughters and treat their sons like crap and it always pisses me off, but this ML falls in love with his child and is awkward about learning... more>> how to raise him, he trust the FL about his development a lot and dotes and protects him so beautifully.

Other thing that I loved about this novel was the FL, it clearly shows that the author may have first hand experience either being a mother or with childcare, because the way this first time mother FL is portrayed gives such a relatable vibe, that is impossible to not agree she was made to be a real mom. She loved her kid, she prioritized him, she made mistakes, she was patient enough, she did her best even when her emotions got the better of her, and eventually that is what gained her a devoted ML. Obviously, her whole personality wasn't based on being a mom and that greatly maker a more tangible character.

There is no major drama, no major misunderstandings, a lot of fluff and adorable interactions between the parents and child <<less

this was a typical transmigrator x ceo romance. If you've read a lot of this genre then most of the content would be cliche. So if you're after something new and exciting, try another type of romance. The reason why this feels lackluster is because we've read this type of story before.

personally, I think this was well written. There were not much conflict to begin with so it was smooth and easy to comprehend. There are some loose ends but if you think that it focused more on the story... more>> and development between the FL and ml, then it sort of did its purpose. Boring, boring. It started vey nice and I really liked how the ML thought his aproach once he found out he has a son. It was vey logical and I like him and I also liked the FL but, the story was so boring. It mostly focused on the inner thoughts of the kid and the reasons of why he behave some way and why he makes some choses, which I ended up skiping most of the time. I though the ML´s mom would bring some drama since she was... more>> an important character in the original novel and, at the same time, the story makes me dislike her a lot so I was kind of interested in how she will end up but there was no development into that, there was only a footnotes of the autor mentioning what happened to her. There where also some hints that the ML was preparing some kind of trap for his uncle but there was also no development into that neither. Then maybe the original novel FL will appear?, nop. Such an unsatisfactory end. <<less
