Honestly, so far, the series is absolutely hilarious... but loses a point for being way overly censored even for a CN novel. I've read a LOT of CN novels. I know quite well the general extents of censorship actually required. And this one goes way beyond that... 99% of the time. Even if it's just a simple kiss between the MC and one of the girls, it's completely skipped over very abruptly. The reason I say 99% of the time? The one random yuri kiss? Not censored at all for... more>> some reason. Yeah. Uh...

So, basically, MC is transmigrated into a "novel-based world" as the "villain", but there's basically more than one novel at play here, so there's more than one protagonist and more than one group of heroines. However, not only does MC have a villain system that allows him to get stronger than the protagonists.... but he also has the effect of "disabling the protagonists' "intelligence lowering aura" simply by existing." Which... leads to many of the "protagonists" simply falling to their own reckless, illogical behavior, which is honestly really fun. Like the first guy has literally spent more time in jail than he has out of jail because he's like, literally insane. A reminder that this takes place in the modern day, in a low martial arts setting, but where martial artists existing isn't actually some big "secret", and where heavy weapons are fully capable of dealing with the strongest of them, so basically they're not actually given any kind of special protections or anything like that. So when the "protagonist" guy decides to just randomly attack people for pretty much no reason... yeah, he just gets arrested. Over, and over again. It's funny.

Our MC is your typical rich playboy s*umbag. Manipulative to the extreme. But... he's not a completely bad guy, just a s*umbag. And half of the "bad" things he does are things that happen because of the "plot" and he just takes advantage of them... sometimes because he doesn't even have an option to do otherwise. Like when one of the girls gets drugged, he hasn't even been given medical skills by the system yet, so he literally can't cure her. (She IS madly in love with him already at that point, so again, he's "bad" but not "BAD bad")

It's a fun, funny "villain faceslaps the overly arrogant protagonists and steals all of their opportunities" type of series, and is really good and enjoyable if you like those kinds of series, with the only really notable standout negative being the weirdly overly censored intimacy even for a CN novel. (And I again want to emphasize the fact that yes, I know intimate scenes are highly censored in CN works, but again, I've read a LOT of CN novels. This is a weird level of censorship even for them. Even Fated Villain had less censored kiss and bed scenes, and that series was still on the high end of censorship. I really wouldn't note it in a review if it wasn't abnormal.)

Oh, yeah, also: Yes, it's a world with seemingly multiple "novel" storylines in it, but no, it's not a multi-world work. It's one continuous same-world same-cast story. Like Fated Villain, etc., not like those "quick transmigration" series. Also another kinda unique thing about this compared with other similar series is that the MC can apparently read the novels at any point. Whether that's because of his photographic memory or not I'm not sure, but yeah.

Chapter 95 update:.... This might be the funniest thing I've ever read.

Spoiler

Ye Chen, Ye Chen, and Ye Chen glared at each other, clearly ready to throw down.

The assessor glanced at the list and, sure enough, there were three Ye Chens listed, which left him utterly speechless.

The twenty-plus arrogant young men smirked in unison, creating a rather striking scene.

Chapter 341 update:... Nope, this series really is 5/5, 10/10. I'm not going to change my original review because it's still 100% accurate for the early chapters, but I will say this: The censorship becomes way more normal for CN novels later on. But that's not why it's a 5/5 series. The story later on just becomes... WAY too funny. This series has like, no limits to the amount of crazy things that'll happen. This is definitely the funniest overall series I've ever read. <<less
