Ye Zexi transmigrated as the big villain in a danmei novel, who shares the same name as him. Then, he found out that everyone regards him as an imaginary enemy.

In this regard, he adheres to only one principle: Don’t want to fight, take everything you want.

In the boy group’s audition show:
The team member wanted to take the C [Center] position from Ye Zexi.
Ye Zexi took the initiative to withdraw for the sake of being lazy.
The team member was complacent and thought that Ye Zexi had stage fright and the team member was determined to win.
After the performance, Ye Zexi took first place.
Team member: ?

The instructor asked everyone about their purpose to join the competition.
Other contestants: Dreams, because we love the stage!
Ye Zexi: In order to go home and inherit the family property.
Other contestants: ???

Unexpectedly, not only did Ye Zexi fail to be lazy, he also became more popular.

The ML is just not likeable at all. He regularly walks all over MC. And the fact that he as well as literally the entire world push MC into a s*xual role he doesnt want while ML doesent even consider compromising himself rubs me so the wrong way. Strong start but utterly bad as it goes on.

This novel is worth the read. It’s funny and cute!

Just that after the MC/ML got together, it was more of them continuously spreading dog food and sometimes too much sweetness can make one’s teeth hurt. You get what I mean?

I just didn’t like the chaps after they got together that much because I felt it kinda became long winded.

But anyway, still a good read! Love the development between MC/ML

This story got too repeatative and boring. All the reviews saying read to the end, if I have to force myself to continue, why bother? Glad they liked it but I found almost all the characters and story uninteresting. At over half way done nothing has happened.

The MC is too lazy, its not his family/money to live as a salted fish so I was hoping for more from him, not to mention how dense can he be not to understand the ML feelings. The MC is one of my least... more>> favorites, he is too bland.

The ML I don't hate as much as others but didn't love him. Just the typical cold, pure, only lives MC type.

The original ML was cute and I felt sorry for him. Felt he matched our MC Gong, better than turner the MC to a shou.

The stepmom and brother were okay, glad there was no drama there. The rest of the characters were forgetable. <<less

There's only two films, a game show, and a variety show, so the novel feels quite short. The plot moves quickly and I finished reading so fast that I even surprised myself, though the ending really was abrupt. There are a lot of netizen comments and the overall writing style is pretty casual, so it makes for some pretty good mindless reading. I will say that there's a few plot points that don't make too much sense and the romance is a bit abrupt, but it's a funny story regardless.

ML... more>> basically falls in love at first sight, and I didn't really understand how seeing MC do a dance after face slapping the contestants talking sh*t about him would make him believe that MC would be the best and only actor for a main role in his movie. The movie plots also didn't make much sense to me, as the endings were abrupt and the filming process was pretty hand-wavy. There's a few other situations in this novel that feel just as nonsensical, and though coincidences are necessary, the ones in this novel feel quite forced.

Spoiler

Directors suddenly want to work with MC and only him, netizens fall in love with MC pretty immediately and are obsessed with him even though he's literally only debuted for less than a year, MC wins awards easily for the first movie he's ever been in, etc.

[collapse]

I honestly didn't mind the whole agent signing a contract with ML behind MC's back, as if MC really didn't want to participate he could have found a way to back out. He's a rich second generation after all, it's not like he's actually a struggling artist. MC is pretty emotionally dense and treats life with a go with the flow attitude for the most part, so he really does need some kind of push to do anything. Otherwise the novel really would just be him watching anime 24/7 while eating fried fish.

Romance wise this novel has quite a bit of dog food, but it's not one of those really intense romances. They're more a wholesome couple than one with a lot of chemistry, but it is very sweet how MC in particular brings a lot of light into ML's life. Humor in this novel is great though, and I definitely laughed a lot at MC's antics, like his insistence on being the 1 in the relationship. Our poor delusional MC. The situation with the protagonist shou also killed me, so funny.

It's not an amazing novel but would still recommend for a laugh and some cute romance, but don't look for anything transformational.
Spoiler

I'm a little disappointed MC never revealed to anyone that he transmigrated, but characters did guess on their own that he might be a new person.

If I had to describe how the MC and ML got together. It would be the phrase “the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach”. That’s how the ML got the MC.

the beginning chapters were really interesting and it had the premise of a good novel with a strong dash of romance on the side, but after about 50 chapters it was all romance and nothing else, which is good if that’s all you want, but the plot really didn’t progress that much. That being said, I did... more>> stop at ch73 so maybe it changed, but I couldn’t stand reading it anymore.

I usually agree that the MC and ML in novels are the perfect pair, but I don’t know, their is something about the secondary ML here that makes me think he would also be a really good fit for MC. TBH, I would not have been opposed if MC got both of them instead of just the ML. Secondary ML, the OG!MC, his falling in love and rejection was just too sad, which probably contributed to me stopping where I did.
And tbh, ML comes off more as a minor villain character in this.

I think it would have been more interesting, from a romantic prospective, for the secondary ML to be the primary ML, go emotionally from dislike to like for the MC once he transmigrates, and then proceed to chase him and have the MC fall in love with him. I think his character growth then would be interesting to read, and it would be nice to see how MC emotionally changes from wanting to be friends and somewhat disinterest in romantic relations with him to actually liking him. But that might just be me.

All in all it was a pretty good novel. Just not my type of thing. <<less

Dropped at chapter 75. Which I think is a pretty fair attempt out of 134 chapters.

MC, who was already an award winning actor, wakes up in the body of an arrogant creepy 2-nd generation who is basically the villain in love with the MC of the original story and messes with the MC& ML when they get together.

The beginning of the novel is interesting, as MC has these personal hurdles to get through and change his image. It's funny but not too over the top.

The original MC of the novel... more>> was Tang Jing and here I think the the story went off-track. After the transmigration, Tang Jing falls in love with the MC, Ye Zexi. And this crush and pursuit goes on for waaaay too long. I just kept feeling bad for this guy, who was genuinely harassed by the og!villain, and yet is able to see the sincerity of the new MC and have a growing crush. It just felt bad to see him go through such pain, because the original ML falls in love with the newly transmigrated MC. So, basically he loses out on love completely.

There are also way too many chapters and mentions of 'fried fish'. Basically the MC really likes this dish that his step-mother cooked. And instead of it being a point of connection with the family, we find out the ML is also really good at cooking this dish and the MC constantly thinks of ways to get the ML to cook for him. This is the 'epic' romance. Never-ending chapters of 'fried fish'. That's about as much personality the ML has too.

So, with the MC becoming more and more boring, the ML existing to cook for him only and the only interesting relationship with the original MC of the novel, Tang Jing, crying because he's lost out on love, 75 chapters of this was enough. <<less

Ok, at the beginning I liked many things about this novel. I know, MC is OP, but the frustration of other characters who are working really hard to do better and still can't compete with MC's natural talent makes it realistic. Even though MC's talent actually comes from hardwork from his previous life, that really doesn't matter to other characters. They see a man so effortlessly winning at life, it's depressing. It feels unfair. Tbh I like those side characters more than the MC. I can relate to them. They... more>> feel real.

So far, there is barely any development in the romance department. And I'm feeling really bad for the 2nd ml. At this point I feel like this story is about a man's (2nd ml) tragic love story. All I see is 2nd ML. I feel anxious for him. I wish he could be the ML.

Forget it, MC really doesn't care about love. I hope 2nd ML can be happy in his career at least and stop chasing MC. I'm dropping it because its frustrating. MC just wants to be a salted fish. No one let's him. Wtf. He is OP. 2nd ML is delving into darkness. ML... well, no idea what he wants.

Frustrating, dull, heartbreaking 2nd ML. <<less

It has been a while that I read this story. I already forgot quite a few details. But what I remembered is that it started really great, but after a while it felt draggy and I got bored. It wasn't memorable at all. Little drama, nor exciting refreshing plot.

Their romance was also very slow.

If you want a fun and not complicated story, it's here.

The MC just want to be a salted fish so there is no improvement or struggle to be the best, it's simple he just want to watch anime, eat and see his lover when he has one.

The plot is like the MC, not complicated. There is no drama, bloodpath and angst, on the other hand, the interaction of the MC and the ML is sweet and funny but it's true that there is no growth in the characters (maybe just... more>> the MC of the damnei novel) and the entertainment industry decrease in the middle and end part to focus in the romance.

I laught many times but there was also one or two moment that was not interessant for me but in general, it's a good story, easy to read with a simple plot. <<less

The story is good and the flow is also good but I really like Tang Jing. It would have made more sense if MC ended up with him and not the ml.

I quite don't like ML tbh (and it has nothing to do with him forcing the MC to do things he didn't want to do because the first time it was a mistake on behalf of mc's manager who did not consult MC in signing the contract) I just don't like the vibe he gives off. I also feel... more>> that MC was written out of character sometimes.

the side characters like Tang Jing and jiang are more likable and their character development is also well shown making them even more likable and cute. I just hope Tang ends up with someone who would cherish him well. I just got connected with this tang and cant see him be pitiful so I couldn't take it anymore and discontinued ant chapter 38. <<less

A fluffy story with a lose plot and no misunderstanding. The MC just wants to be lazy the end. Every time it felt like the story was about to pick up it was a bit of a let down. The moments with the MC's family were a bit sweet but the relationship between the MC and ML was too bland.

Spoiler

the MC was straightfoward about why he doesn't want to be with the ML but ML just forces MC to accept the relationship on his terms he doesn't even try to compromise.

I almost missed this gem because of a bad review left by someone who can't distinguish between being forced and wanting to be loved and dotted upon on.

It's a fluffy dogfood read.

As someone who likes eating dogfood, I don't mind being stuffed.

The 2MLs interaction before they became together made me realize why I am considered as a toxic red flag in reality.

Thank you very much to the translator for this gem ❤

An entertainment/actor novel, very lighthearted and fluffy throughout.

For me it was a very pleasant read. Recently I've been pretty much dying from work, so it took me many days and many starts/stops to slowly read this novel. I actually didn't find it super boring, but perhaps that's because it was spread across multiple days of reading.

My one gripe is generally about

Spoiler

the entire couple of chapters about tops/bottoms. meh. Not a fan of how they talk about bottoms being shorter than the top or some crap.

[collapse]

And my other gripe is that

Spoiler

I wish the MC would have done something else maybe... he kept saying how much he wanted to retire... maybe I would have liked to see him become a director or go into another field instead.

[collapse]

But overall translation was a very smooth read, it was well-edited MTL (with a few hiccups - if MTL gives a ton of letters in a row "uuuuuuuuuuuuuuu" or "ahhhhhhhhhh, " it's a typo/error, I recommend breaking up the sentence for it to be parsed corrrectly in MTL). <<less

sweet and fluffy, with very little drama. If you want to see your MC struggle and grow, turn to another story!

Spoiler

MC transmigrates into his new life with top tier acting/singing/dancing skills, and never has to develop them or practice. He also has lots of good luck, so even when he's trying to avoid them, good opportunities come his way.

[collapse]

barely any face slapping, no real drama, no true enemies

Spoiler

his stepmom and brother are not villains, they have just been mistreated by his past self. Their relationship improves greatly. Even the people competing with him at the beginning of the novel end up friends with him later. The public is very accepting of gay relationships, so there isnt much drama over MC coming out, nor MC being in a relationship with ml.

all in all, a very relaxed and sweet story. Nice to read when you want something fluffy and light! <<less

I'm so, so close to finishing, I think I'm just going to count it as done. Unlike most novels, I found myself getting impatient at the end - to the point I didn't really care to read the ending. It's not like there's anything really surprising, and I found the plot mostly just the typical fluff. The beginning of the story was very interesting - I thought it was hilarious how the MC got pulled to fame despite his intentions. I also like how he slowly converts friends to enemies.... more>> But there's something a bit boring about a story where the character effortlessly succeeds despite actively wanting to avoid success. And I'm not sure I understand why anyone would fall in love with someone like that. Maybe treat it as raising a lazy cat, but not real love. <<less

Note : This is solely based on my viewpoint as a reader.

What I liked about this book

  • Spoiler

The MC never ended up telling about the transmigration which I think is better knowing the ML's past trauma.

    [collapse]
  • The ML is very sweet and humane (in a way). I feel like he is the well-written verion of a typical danmei male lead.
  • The interactions with fans and the side characters were so adorable.
What I have to say about this book

    • The MC didn't have much depth in his personality for me. (But not bad enough to put him in the bland category though)
    • Spoiler

They should've shown more about the former body owner's past instead of writing him off as a complete villain and acting as if the step mother and brother were all good people from the start.

Rating : 6.5/10 (A good read but a bit bland for me)

I've kept this in an open tab for a few months, waiting for it to be completed since I had a feeling I would like it. And I did😌 It isn't perfect, but it was entertaining to see how long will Xi Xi be able to be a salted fish. This is also my first time meeting such a cultured MC as well and I loved every minute of it!°₊·ˈ∗ ( (ॣ>̶᷇ᗢ<̶᷆ ॣ)) ∗ˈ‧ I would usually just have a stream or yt video on while reading but for... more>> the first time, I got to play anime music and it was awesome. Distracting, (bcz I turn into a one-man band😅) but awesome🥰

The ML wasn't the perfect man when I first met him and also did a few things that were questionable; but he didn't deserve that excessive amount of hate. I can think up a list of Gongs/Semes that deserve them, especially in the World-Hopping/Quick Transmigration Genre.

Theres also another situation that I feel like I should give my two cents about but it's a spoiler so you can read if you don't mind:
Spoiler

It's about the situation between the original Shou and the MC. Og Xi Xi was more or less a scum while chasing the Og shou. But bcz of the current soul was inside said scum, he changed his ways dramatically (bcz the current Xi Xi honestly didn't give a f*ck about going OOC) since he had to start right after some damages were done and tried to clean up the mess. However, things flipped and now it was the Og shou that developed feelings and began to chase after the current Xi Xi; even when he had the ability to know what he's doing won't end well. As a person who's also speaking from experience on both sides; it's MUCH BETTER AND EASIER to reject that person as cleanly as possible without using insults. Yes, it will hurt, but it's healthier and it will stop those feelings from growing based on misunderstandings because of what you said and letting it fester into something horrible. That's how Yanderes can be formed as well in some stories 🤷🏽‍♀️. Love is a pure thing, don't let it mutate (◍•ᴗ•◍) ♡ ✧*

If you're okay with ignoring some plot holes it's a okay-ish read.

I had a hard time ignoring those plot holes and was a bit dissatisfied about the characters and some sudden scenes which doesn't make sense or was not needed or over exaggerated.

Without those it would have been a good story.
