The Villain is Too Good at Broadcasting

The worst villain in Korea’s virtual gaming history.

That was the only phrase used to describe me after that.

I thought that would be the end of my life as a gamer.

At least, until………

*** A broadcast for bad guys. Be warned.

It's pretty good. I enjoyed the writing and the translation is fantastic. As a girl, I sometimes have an issue when the main male character has a younger sister, because alot of these authors have some frankly creepy subtexts and the sister is either super annoying/abusive or basically in love with her brother. Its gross dude. I have siblings, and the sibling relationship in this novel is a lot more realistic than a lot of the other books on this site. It was refreshing to have a male younger sibling... more>> with a good relationship, but Korean novels tend to be way better than Chinese novels when it comes to writing male friendship/siblings anyway.

10/10 recommend simply for the live chat, the comments are hilarious lol. <<less

Very entertaining so far. I enjoy reading about confident MC's who aren't always fooling around drunk on power and on ego trips. I'm looking forward to when he finally reveals himself and when he starts to establish his reputation in earnest. Just kind of hesitant about his relationship with his brother. Don't care for those scenes. I just want to see more of his story as a badass virtual reality fighter

Alright, I know I reviewed this novel once but, I have read until ch 41 now, and.. The constant patriotism or whatever against japanese is annoying and boring. Its as if Korea is at war with Japan or something from how much they hate each other. Maybe koreans enjoy this type of patriotic shit, but for me it was just boring.

Tbh I didn't expect this to have such a low rating? Like just because some may argue it's unoriginal, it's still well executed. Also, I feel like things are super interesting given the MC's past and his current relationship with others. Also, maybe I just have a thing for brutally aggressive characters who wandered into the comedy genre, but I think MC's hilarious, and I love him so much so far. Like god I can't wait for later chapters because of how excited this story makes me.

Hm hm hm, let me rate this 5 real quick 'cause tf is 4? Is it eatable?

So when I saw "villain" in the title and "shameless protag" tag, honestly, I was expecting sth different. Dunno, get his identity exposed at the beginning of the novel, betrayed teammates trying to kill him, MC broadcasting all while trolling 'em? MC that just goes around digging pits left and right, then shamelessly brag about it? Nope, maybe in another novel lol. I would read it ngl.

So here MC betrayed his teammates at a... more>> raid because money was needed for his bro's surgery, then quit gaming ever since.

2 years later he returns from the military (guess he went to the military after f*cking up everyone lol), only to see his bro stream. His bro knowing that MC used to play games, unaware of MC's identity, requests to play & steam a game together.

MC was unwilling at first, but after learning that hefty sum of money he received was depleted and they were broke once again, made a U-turn.

Yes, there's a meeting with ex-teammates, the start of his own broadcast yada yada... Let's skip all and focus on sth else.

Netizen comments. I kid you not, that's the most important thing in e-sport novels, more so than games themselves lol.

They actually weren't bad? There was the right amount of criticism, praise, and humor.

Even humor wasn't bad. I usually have a hard time even getting the jokes in novels like these, I can't laugh at Asian memes, get the references due to differences in culture, or sth else.

There weren't many cranky memes, maybe one or two, comments weren't limited to Asia and were relevant... Aside from thanking the author for writing netizen comments I can actually laugh, I also want to thank the translator.

They really never feel lazy to add all those footnotes ig lol, appreciated.

One last thing, curious why the MC is being called "villain" aka "the bad guy" here? Even tho nobody is aware of his identity?

Spoiler but really not

Spoiler

He swears. Yeah, groundbreaking ikr.

Just wanted to add suspense lol.

[collapse]

I guess that's it. Give it a go.

Edit:

There's a ton load of nationalism going on in the current arc. Like, what's with all this hate on Japan lmao? They may be hostile, but must it paint like Japanese are brainded idiots? Their pro league gamers are tr*sh, games are tr*sh, they are tr*sh...

-1 star for it. <<less

Spoiler

[collapse]

If you're easily trigger, don't read it.

Reminder :

The tittle speak for itself. He is A VILLAIN so his character is correct and please don't whine when you found his character unpleasant.

You gotta understand what you sip for u know.

Wish there were more chapters!! Really enjoyed it, even though I don't like game novels much :D Because it doesn't have a lot of chapters yet it felt like a snack rather than a full course meal, but it has the potential and keeps you reading XD I have no idea why I didn't hear of it before! Give it a go!

The beginning up to around ch30+ is great, and funny, but it actually starts to get a bit boring because he just slaps people in the face, and literally ever gamer is made to be no challenge at all. The constant patriotism is a bit annoying too- not because of the pride in their country which is fine- it's just that they are making all the other countries look like they have one brain cell combined to make the main character and Korea look better.

I love thrash talk. Same as in reincarnated blablabla is kind (i forgot if it was demon king or lord or villain). It is just too short I'm waiting for the time when his identity gets revealed. I want to see reaction of his coworkers. But I do not think I will get to see that day and without it I don't think I can rate it accordingly. But it is still good. (I can't relate to thrash talk abbout japan as im not japanese or korean but maybe it... more>> has gone to far? Why bring real live in light novel? But well I can just ignore it for now and see what happens next) <<less

Wishing for more chapters. I can't remember how long I was waiting for a chapter update. I started reading when it was still less than 5 chapters because I find it good and entertaining, but too bad the update was too slow. When there were a few chapters updated, I read it but then got cliffhanged because it stopped when it got entertaining (for me). So, I'll continue reading it when there are more than 50-60 chapters and reread it from the start to get the feel again.

This one is actually good, I have been waiting for this since last year lmao the update is slow.

The MC, is a genius player in MMORPG, in the world's first raid that will be talk globally, he decided to betray his companions and waste their chance to kill the final boss for money to operate his younger bro that suffering in stomach cancer. 3 yrs later he came back and play games again. It was mixed with Comedy so its funny, especially the viewers xD I even thought sometimes if... more>> they were gei or whut lmao <<less

5/5 absolutely hilarious so far.

This is one of the best novels I've had the pleasure to read lately and hope it continues to have a reliable and good translation.

I love it. Well paced, easy to read, and pretty funny.

The relationship between the two brothers is a bit strained but it does read more like siblings than most I've seen. It's pretty well-paced and it's easy to read if you aren't that interested in games and the slang is well explained. I'm a giant sucker for live chats and this one fuels my love, acts like most chats do even if they do abandon their streamer quite easily.

Will refrain from rating for now. But so far, theres a hint of gary stu essence whiffing out.

Being good at the VR games, aside from equipment quality gap, seems heavily reliant on a chance lottery of how high the assimilation/ synchronisation rate is gonna be. I say chance lottery because the most high-end game pod they're using currently has an automatic assessment set-up or whatever and MC coincidently is the only one who's achieved over 90% assimilation, just short of 7% to a hundred. The previous highest being around 70%... more>> which is a real big gap there.

Why it's a big deal is pretty indicative from MC's rants when comparing his previous worn-out game pod, and how MC's toping every game he's playing for the first time doing things 'no one has ever done'. On that note then, everyone's practically handicapped except MC. So it doesn't seem like it's about techniques anymore but pure luck. As for if the sync rate can be manually adjusted idk if I missed it but +70% being the previous highest I guess not?

Why I'm not rating yet is because the story's still only building up MC for now so until theres some real hint of plot, I'll edit it then. Also waiting to see why MC is still the only one known with +90% sync rate.

Btw, those few chapters keen on insulting JP was really distasteful. And the cover s*cks, very far from MC's image description. <<less

Has some showbiz-like vibes. The MC livestreams but he doesn't livestream just one game, and his focus is on getting more successful and famous (to make more money). With the focus being on building his career as shown by the different things he participates in the social media response, it's very showbiz. MC's audacity is funny, and his willingness to to go all in and reveal himself is a good change of pace from the "I have to hide my true identity and/or skills!" that I've read in so many... more>> other novels. Also MC isn't just sassy he's intentionally sassy, which is interesting.

A warning though - in order to attract attention MC channels teenage gamers and is as inflammatory as possible for the lulz. Which means his first major step to getting fame is to go into a Japanese-dominated game and stir up controversial, nationalistic topics to attract attention. His next step is to concentrate in Korea so his strategy will change, but if you're sensitive to that sort of thing beware.

No rating because I need to read more that isn't nationalism-related to really judge the quality. <<less
