Right after getting the first-class chef’s certificate and before that certificate had been in her hands long enough to warm up, she woke up. Not only did she age ten years, she also gained two children…

At this time, her new daughter, who had lost two of her front baby teeth and spoke with a lisp, pointed at the TV screen and called out, “Dad!”

On the screen, the Film Emperor Meng Yan was extremely handsome and charming. Towards the camera, his gaze was overflowing with gentle and tender feelings. He raised up the hand that was holding hands with captivatingly beautiful bride. She was wearing a diamond-beaded wedding dress. At the bottom of the TV screen, the headline news was displayed in large font – Meng Yan and the rising starlet’s wedding of the century.

This is so cute, funny and sweet novel. MC transmigration divorce women who had two children villian and cannon fodder. Her relationship with son and daughter are so sweet, heartwarming, and cute. Love she became doting parent. She cook delicious food for her children and give love to them as Orig Host was indifference to her children, only clingy to scum ex husband. Her ex husband is hyprocrite scum film emperor who deceived original host and use her resources. Original Host love him so much, unwilling to divorce him, she... more>> killed herself, then our MC transmigration.

Male Lead is Lu Xun, he is boss of Entertainment Circle. He is foodie and love mc's food. He and MC relationship is funny and cute.

Recommend it. I really love calm son and cute daughter. <<less

Mm it's cute. The rest of my review is in dedication to a cannon fodder character:

UNPOPULAR OPINION: I don't think that Film Emperor bio-dad is scum! Okay, he's not an amazing person nor is he an amazing father, but it's still not on the level of terrible scum. Regarding his feelings for MC, I get it. It's annoying to have someone revolving around you all the time, especially for someone like him who is definitely busy day in day out. To be interrupted at work and never having any time... more>> to yourself is definitely rough. I'm pretty sure he didn't cheat on her either, and it was only a long time after their divorce that him & his new girl were seen together. Furthermore, although he's definitely not stellar parent, he does seem to care about his kids at least somewhat (in the beginning, she would make things up using the kids to get him to come). It only diminished because he had to face a crazy woman ever time. The only thing that was pretty scummy was how

Spoiler

MC was blackened by media, and he didn't cover her to protect his pride. But honestly, I don't really blame him for that either. She also knows the conditions of the circle yet ostentatiously posts photos that flaunt her wealth all the time. Of course, there's nothing wrong with spending her own money. However, and to be fair this is an assumption, but I'm guessing she's the one that pushed him into getting together with her. She was willing to be blackened indirectly for his sake, and probably accepted this as a consequence of her marriage that she was willing to carry. It doesn't seem like he really used her for his sake, if she did clarify I'm sure he would've just managed it or not agree to be married at all, which is well within his rights.

[collapse]

So in conclusion, I don't think he's terrible or unreasonable (at least so far). Orig!MC may have had "true love", where she put aside everything else for him, but that doesn't mean he HAD to accept and tolerate it. Using "true love" to excuse actions that inconvenience everyone else is not acceptable. Orig!MC also never took care of her children at all or had anything else in her life other than film emperor, pushing even as he refused her, so she doesn't seem great at all.

I get it, and even if he ends up regretting, if it was Orig!MC there would definitely be nothing to regret. He got out of a toxic relationship so in that sense I'm happy for him, although his attitude towards his kids definitely should've been better.

Did I just spend all my review in defense of this cannon fodder character? Yes. But I hate when readers unilaterally blacken and scoff at a character just because of the novel's perspective; he's technically opposite our MC, therefore he must be evil? Nah. <<less

Finally! An MC that doest go back to the scum ex husband! This is more of a slice of life novel about the moms interaction with her kids. Very sweet charming story. Theres not much romance really. I think the most intimate moment between MC and ML was when they hold hands.. So im a bit disappointed with that. Nonetheless, the kids are cute and funny. I loved how protective the son is to mom and his sister and his interaction with ML and the original MP.

It's a bit sad... more>> that they didnt made up with their father. Though its satisfying how he ended up regretting his separation with MC and the kids. He kinda deserve it for being a scum of a father. ? After reading about toxic scheming white lotuses and scumbag MLs this is such a breath of fresh air. Totally recommended! <<less

Very nice and warm story. The MC is smart but not Mary Sue, the ML is super cute (like s*upid cute). I loved how for once the MC is 10 years older that her real age because, come on, you cant always transmigrate in a body which is younger and more beautiful. It's Mary Sue's attribute.

And I loved the interacion with all the members of the family: the teens, the grandparents, the collegues ! I laughed a lot and the characters are really life-like !

I gave 4 stars because it's... more>> still too slow !!!! I mean, their relashionship is unclear until the 5 last chapters ! Where is the bubbled war hearty mood ?! We don't get the honey moon part. And the story ends with the wedding (some 2 extras chapters and it's the real end).

The ending was too rushed (complete but too rushed). But I still enjoyed it. <<less

Refreshing to see The FL not ending up with the scum ex, move on with her life. Wish more novels adapted that concept. Just cause he is the father of your children doesn’t mean you have to get back with him. Especially if he made you unhappy. MC was like my fav not an Iceberg he had feelings.

Its a really good story. Sweet and fluffy. No revenge or bitter come backs.

FL found her true love. Her children didn't go to the villain path. The original male lord became their family.

About the ex- husband

Spoiler

he really isn't that bad. I think he just couldn't stand the orignal LY's personality. He didn't think an ex-actor was suited for him but I think he realized in the later years his regret. He thought someone Whos on the same league as him could understand him.

But when he retired, no one was home. His house is cold. His new wife is too into acting (she didn't become famous) and his daughter was at school. So yeah, I feel a little bad for him. But that's his fault. He was the one who chose work and divorce. Now he wants the warmth of a family in his retirement but it was too late. His 2 children are estranged and changed their names. His 1st daughter didn't even invite him to her wedding. He only got to watch behind the screen.

[collapse]

Lastly about this new wife

Spoiler

I don't think she truly loves the film guy. She's just using him for resources. Like, this girl used her pregnancy even tho she didn't really want to for clout but ended up getting buried because FL and ML was getting married. Then again, when she gave birth to a daughter, it was over shadowed by the pregnancy of FL and ML. I believe on Meng Yan was the one who was truly looking forward to a new child because his other 2 can't give him the love he wanted when he never gave it to them in the first place. Hmpf. Good thing his son scolded him when the dad tried to keep them in his house but the kids didn't like the food and the atmosphere and then ended up ranting how he was never their in the first place and they didn't need their 'father' love.

[collapse]

About the daughter

Spoiler

Its so cute how the little girl loves sweets and then ended up marrying a dentist.

Do I recommend ? Yes, especially the last paragraphs will kinda hit you hard. <<less

I stopped reading at chapter 108 because the FL and ML (especially ML!) is getting annoying.

Spoiler

when there's gossip about them being together because he's staying overnight at her house (noting happened, diff bedroom) they had an ittybitty fight and he send a weibo saying they're together when he haven't even said a single word of liking her???? They just held hand once?! Honestly the author made his EQ too low it doesn't make sense.

And there's only a few chapter left I still haven't figured out how the ML fell for FL. Just because he saw her once in a bar where she thought he was her blind date and then he miraculously find her live feed where she doesn't shoe her face and know it's her and fell for her instantly???

Also, felt really bad for her son every time she forced him to interact with ML nephew KNOWING they're not eye to eye, and everytime her daughter chose ML nephew over her brother : ( ( ( (I think she as the mom could have said more the her daughter. She KNOWS that it's breaking her son's heart the his sister literally said: I don't want him as my brother anymore, I want Azhe as my brother. And she said NOTHING!! Just let it be! Do you really care for your son? T.T

[collapse]

it's a fluff story with predictable ending, not bad for a light read. Don't expect much tho.

Tired of transmigration stories about getting back with your ex-SO and fighting with girls? Want a dogleg foodie character who usually works as supporting character become ML instead? Want a family comedy? If so, this is your novel.

Instead of the usual shenanigans of getting into entertainment industry to get back on her ex, MC follows her heart desire - cooking. Which actually escalated to her becoming hot news even though she's not an artist. Although she's also not a chef too. Thinking about changing the fate of her would-be-villain son... more>> and cannon-fodder daughter, she started cooking for the family and opened a filmmaker company for them.

As for ML, he looks like an overbearing ceo when he first appeared, but he's actually that chuuni character you always see as the younger brother supporting character overshadowed by the real OP ceo in other long, dog-blood novels. A bit of a silly foodie, but he's not really s*upid. Got a bit of an advantage because the real protagonist and villain of the novel are younger than him in age and generation.

This is a totally family-friendly novel. No kisses, no snusnu, the two protagonists are like 2 kindergarteners having puppy love, and by which I mean their interactions are super cute. The insulin is worth it. <<less

I actually agree with what ike_00000 said regarding her ex-husband. He’s definitely not going to win Dad of the Year, but FL isn’t exactly the model of a good parent either (pre-transmigration). If anything, I think he was probably willing to make it work at the beginning? Sure, he realized that her resources probably wouldn’t hurt to have and use because he really wanted to succeed as an actor, but he’s not a total scumbag like the author is trying to make him out to be. IMO, the biggest tell... more>> is that he was able to stay with her for 10+ years and have 2 kids with her. I don’t think he totally hated the OrigFL. You can argue that he stayed simply because it was something familiar. But wouldn’t you be tired of someone who kept shoving their feelings down your throat too? If anything, I kind of feel bad for him at this point in the story. He wasn't ready for a family when he got married a decade ago. And because of that, he was more focused on working to become the film emperor. But now that he’s accomplished his dream and wants to slow down and start a family, his new wife isn’t ready yet. He just sounds really tired and worn out IMO. I’m not saying that he’s not scum, but can you honestly say that if you were suddenly married and forced to pop out kids when you’re in the middle of trying to accomplish your dreams, you would be okay with it? Of course, I also think he’s “scum” due to the fact that he thought people would wait around for him, ie his children. He wants to connect with his children who he’s neglected over the years but they’ve grown used to his neglect already. He was also expecting his new wife to suddenly drop her budding career to go along with his wishes. Finally, I’d like to say that I kind of disagree with ike_00000 about OrigFL and her SNS presence. Yes, I agree that perhaps she knew what she was getting into. But he couldn’t help her out just once? She gives birth to his children, watches them (kind of), and uses her resources to help him succeed. I think it got so bad because he didn’t even attempt to defend her. If he had just said once to the media, “that’s my wife. Don’t harass her” they would’ve been fine. This is the part that I don’t like most about him. Ugh I have so much more to say, but this review is already long enough. Point is: he’s not as bad as the author makes him out to be, but hes not my favorite either. <<less

Foolish Mysteries
It was a good read and relaxing. The ending was abrupt for me, but I was extremely happy for her.
Spoiler

As for the ex husband, he was a bad father and a partner. I could understand if he was annoyed by the obsessive behavior of the original body, but that's the life of a married man. If you don't want to be bothered, why marry? Why have kids? The original host was indeed annoying, obsessive, and didn't care about the kids much, but her care for her husband was real, the children also lived comfortably because she was rich. Don't say that he was not obligated to be burdened by her love, dude, he was her husband and not some stranger. If he didn't like it, why did he marry anyways? If he married her for the child, why did he still sleep with her and had a second child? I'm kinda pissed by how he was acting so indifferent and blamed the divorce on the original host for being 'annoying', he made it look like he knows nothing and did nothing without realizing that his mistake was that precisely because he did nothing. He did nothing, not even to care for his children or even give just a shred of care for his family. All he did was a perfunctory act and not care. The original host was indeed also at fault, but she never wronged the children. She was obsessed, in love, and neglected the children for her deep love, but that was how being married is. Imagine having a husband that only comes home few days in a year and don't even have a good look on his children. Which wife wouldn't be insecure? He put up a front of being devoted to his career and being a good husband yet he treated his family indifferently. If you're really so in love with you're career that you even find your wife and family annoying, then don't marry and have kids. If you don't want such a responsibility, then don't marry and leave a person hanging like that and justify your actions of divorcing your wife and marrying another so quickly under the banner of love so righteously cause it was disgusting.

It's not bad but it's pretty much slice of life with little real plot and pretty bland characters. The only real characters are the daughter and the mother of MC.

The romance is complete ass and should just have been written out of the story.

A light-hearted fluff piece, this story's strengths are at its slightly ironically twists of poking fun at romantic tropes between the romance of the male lead Lu Xun and Lin Yiyi. The main character Lin Yiyi is the witty straight-man of this slightly comedic narrative, especially when she faces her shrewd, astute and blunt mother, her clumsy-at-love partner, Lu Xun.

The plot flails at certain points where its a lull in its pace, likely because the work-life of both protagonists are not very fleshed out and just brushed past. In fact,... more>> most of the more important aspects of a slice of life novel like this has been brushed past for its strengthened focus on food, gag one-liners during family interactions. Most of the plot remains as such which may seem a little bit dry after repetitive instances with not much change apart from Lin Yiyi's gradual acceptance of Lu Xun. It sadly... just wasn't enough to drive the plot forward while keeping its momentum.

Minor gripes aside about world-building, story pacing, it is a cute story centred more on child-raising if that is what you are looking for. The characterisation is a delight despite it's fixed in stone 2D facets, the author uses them very well and the romance is a gradual romance between two love novices (that does not become too passionate, so you will not find more than hand-holding here).

It's perfect for a light read. <<less

For the first time! I have read a male lead that I am absolutely happy with! Not the cold, mentally immature kinds. Both the FL and ML are somewhat slow when it comes to love (like, really)

The FL isn't the type that goes "revenge here, revenge there" spree. She's there to live a peaceful and meaningful life filled with love. The ML is the dopey kind. My type of ML. He's funny and really cute!

As for the kids, I couldn't ask for more. Their interaction brings me so much... more>> fun and laughter!

If you want to have a read that's fluffy and no angst, this novel is for you! And btw, I love the FL's mom!

The only problem I have with this novel is that it ended too soon! <<less

If I have to rate this story, from 0 to 100, then, it was a 89 points before the ML showed up and disturbing everything after he showed up it was 45points.

I found myself kept skipping MC and ML parts. Their characteristics are just not that interesting to read when these two have interaction together. Somewhat cliche is how MC brain capacity was not working the best when ML was involved, like eventho ML was her stepfather friend, as a widow with two kids would you allow an adult single... more>> man to eat at your house several time (she even cooked for him to eat, the first time coz he brought the fish with whatever reason). And ML was smart and very 'black belly' at the start, with how he managed to come to freeload meal all the time, but then it deteriorated into..... low brain capacity too *facepalm*. WHY reading MC and ML interaction parts was making me sleepy (and I did fall a sleep!).

It was quite long before ML showed up in the novel, yet only with MC and her children story it actually worked out quite fine! I didnt feel boring eventho all I read was just mother and children conversation, and a mother struggle to find thigns to do (she's rich).

I'd rather keep reading the children parts, esp MC son and ML nephew interaction more XD Both are future male god after all with the 'face paralysis' LOL

However, I'm sure people will like this, coz it's a very light hearted story, and fluff. The face slapping or revenge was not that big part of the story.

Also, I'm so relief to see the author didnt take the love between sibling (not blood related) route but a real pure sibling love. <<less

I rarely go into BG category, since... usually it's cliche and boring. This story is actually quite mediocre too. Sure it's an easy read, but that's about it. Easy and boring are not mutually exclusive terms.

For easy novels I have a chapter limit, it's about 60-70 chapters to tell the easy story and wrap it up and be a lovely piece, not claiming bigger things, when it exceeds this limit, the uneventful novel becomes a parade of boredom. My fuse is short I am aware :D And this story to... more>> me has few flaws:

  1. What irked me is the bigger potential of the idea, but uneventfulness later on. It had such a great constant emphasis on how both kids will be cannon fodders, but the story doesn't even go there, only last few chapters touch on their "adult" life.
  2. Adult people don't act like that. So both ML and FL are a bit annoying from my pov. FL is boring, she only knows how to cook. It's great, but it makes things too simple. When it comes to the novel plot she loses all sh*t instead of thinking a bit more and making decent decisions. There was so much drama wasted tbh. ML turns into some type of an idiot as the story goes.
  3. The story is pretty uneventful. All potential drama is tossed. It's all about let's go here, then let's cook this etc. Main thing was that ML was an uncle of the person responsible for her children "downfall". But all this tossing is pretty pointless tbh.
PS: I always get annoyed when TL chops chapters into two-three parts and presents it as separate chapters, They're not. Ch 143 is ch 55 in original text. <<less

I was trying to hang longer but couldn't, I've to vent to be able to get back to read again.
Look, yes, she isn't the most bad transmigrator mother I've seen in novels, but she really get in my nerves as time went by!
It feels like the two children nothing more than a background for her, that's it. And as she claim that she take care of them, she didn't do anything to them beside cooking their meals when she like and drove them to their schools (as in... more>> later she find it okay to leave them eat what the maid cooks and she go happily to cook and eat with others!).
She dosen't even ask them how they feel about anything, she just assume what ever she want.
And for this mister Lu (Male lead, as I think) she know her son doesn't like him, even might dislike him and every time he see him he'll be upset, but she doesn't care at all! She would bring this man over at their home over and over, let him have meal with them at almost daily basis and she will enjoy her time without the lest bit care if her son could eat his meal or not, just becase that man would bring with him some fresh ingredients everytime he came and she as a chef wont say no to good fresh ingredients??!!

The plot is good. The MC is likeable. The ML is a humourous type, not like other overbearing ML, so it is refreshing. Everything is an okay.

But I started to don't like the story when: ... more>>
Spoiler

1. the MC starting an entertainment company. It's all about business. She is good at cooking, so actually I'm hoping she can focus on cooking only, but nah, because she is a super rich Mom (thanks to her Mother & Stepdad) she can easily open a super amazing company.

2. The romance is pretty s*upid. I mean, come on, the ML already liked the MC since the beginning, but it's so slow for both of them to know that it is love. And the ML is take to long just to confess.

3. Our MC is transmigrated to a beautiful + super rich mom with 2 kids. She knows that her son (soon-to-be-villain) is a type who doesn't like to interact with other people. But our MC didn't care about it, she just let him to meet, bickering, even make his son to be jealous of the so called soon-to-be-ML of the original story, they are rival, and SHE SHOULD HAVE KNOWN. She didn't know what is in his son's mind. I feel bad for the Son everytime he is jealous of the soon-to-be-ML.

+FYI, the soon-to-be-ML is the Nephew of our ML (his parents already dead so his guardian is his Uncle, our ML). Just imagine, MC x ML finally married, with 2 kids + 1 kid (nephew) that are always hate each other.

I just feel bad for her Son, you know : (

Such a heartwarming story. This is a light and warm read. The MC is a simple lady, and the ML is fake OP, lol. I mean, he has power, but that power is borrowed. My favorite character is MC's mother (after MC transmigrated), such badass woman, so cool. I like how the romance between the ML and FL progressed so naturally. There was no dramatic, cliched events that brought them together (e.g. Kidnapping, misunderstandings, third wheel). Their relationship was like a calm, flowing stream. Though they started out as being extremely dense in love, they easily and anticlimactically became a couple after they both admitted each other's feelings. Add to that that both are already over 30 years old so it was realistic and reasonable.

I also loveee the family dynamics between the Lins and the Lus hehe. Especially... more>> with the two older brothers that constantly fight against each other in a cold war. I also liked how they didn't follow the trope of the younger sister marrying her cousin, the OG male lead, and found her own small happiness.

Overall, the story was a nice breath of fresh air. No unnecessary dramas, straightforward but dense characters, and a really chill and laidback slice of life story. The only thing that felt off for me was that

Spoiler

The story ending with the ex-husband reminiscing his past with Yiyi and the two kids, and regretting it. Though I guess at the very least he wasn't the type of character that would do something drastic to bring the FL back to his side, so he was a bit more likable. Still he was a really shitty father to Yuran and Shanshan. Guess he got karma when both his new wife and daughter can't even accompany him at home so in his retiring years, he was left alone. I think this scene was done as some sort of contrast to the beginning of the story, though it seemed kinda weird.
