He received an ability called Soul Board which he could use to allocate points to Skills to make himself more powerful.

But there was a catch…

「I want you to take revenge on someone for me within an hour. If you don’t, I’ll destroy your soul.」

To pull off the task assigned to him, he poured all his available points to the Stealth skill tree.

This is a story of a boy who specialized in Stealth. With his skill trees as weapons, he would demonstrate his unrivaled strength in another world.

Honestly I like the premise and it was fun read until he rescued the girl and got involved in politics

Spoilers ahead:

It quickly turned into the standard Japanese isekai where the reincarnated individuals are all Japanese and the author is busy jerking off Japanese culture. The MC being cold enough to kill someone is certainly a plus, but he is just unnecessarily arrogant when there isn't anything remarkable about him. His ability should have been a niche that helped him explore dungeons and get past beings far stronger than himself undetected,... more>> but it just turned into an all-around op badass that could easily solo the strongest knight of that world's strongest country.

The whole bullsh*t about him going to the allied nations and working with idealistic children of the ruling class to change the system is unrealistic, unnecessary and utterly boring. I understand that the author needs to give direction as the MC doesn't have any goals, but getting him involved in politics when he really has no idea what he is doing is just dumb. I don't really understand what these authors are thinking when they write about a 15 year old being able to run a country better than people who have spent their entire lives learning to do so.

I like the fact that there is an early romance and the MC isn't a virg*n who starts blushing the moment he sees a woman, their ages being 15 and 14 is just weird, there is no reason to make them that young. The female lead is supposed to be strong with a lot of untapped potential, but she doesn't add anything to the novel at all and is just like another doll who can't think for herself and only exists to put the MC on a pedestal, a staple of the JP Isekai genre <<less

So MC is ~15 years old. And his thinking process is pretty much is at this level. There are some flaws like he thinks that he needs only one lover. It's not like he is wrong it's just all boys wants many beautiful girls. Same about some of his worries. But it's not bad.

Bad is the world. If MC is 15 years old it feels like all other characters are 10 years old. I would like to see some adult thoughts or at least some thoutghs. Other people are just... more>> brain dead and simply reacting to MC <<less

I binge read up to chapter 40, and found I really like this novel. I'm not usually into the whole "I don't want to stand out" things that Japanese novels always do, but this novel is really thought out and you can tell the author has outlined his story before writing it. Usually some authors just free write and story goes haywire, but not this one. The author is really sticking to his story. Although, he does do alot of describing the stealth skill, ... more>> he doesn't do it overly much to make it annoying. And I love how the MC is smart and not a chicken sh$t. I can't wait for the updates! <<less

I'm with the UwU on this. So far so good. The additional included artwork is a nice touch too. Translation is also good and MC isnt s*upid. So far the system to see his stats isnt too complicated and more well thought out than other systems from similar LNs/webnovels I've read so far. Hope chapter releases become more frequent because binging the first 12 chapters was super fun.

First time writting my review. I'm really stressed out looking at the MC and the Heroine. MC described as a smart guy but turn out he's so dumb. Has a power like a God of Assassin because he's absolutely invisible but he actually being a p*ssy about killing someone (except the noble in the early chapter). The Heroine (s) is so useless I don't get what the point of this girl exist except for yeah you know... S*x... Not exaggerating but Haruno Sakura seems more useful.

I'm literally yelling towards the... more>> MC's about "why you do that?!" "Why don't do this instead?!"

If the majority of this novel's characters thinks our MC's clever, then that world is full of s*upid people.

Early chapter is fun but later turn out to be a massive disappointment. <<less

For some reason, this review page is not letting me alter the amount of stars...

Oh well. I give it a 2/5 due to its potential.

My main concern is how the main character manages to breath without a brain.

  • MC is supposed to be smart but overlooks some of the most obvious things regularly.
  • Romance is bland, just falls on his lap but he is completely devoted for no reason after a few minutes.
  • Side characters somehow manage to be even more dumb.
  • MC refuses to kill. For realists, that's not a good thing.
I love... more>> novels with OP characters, and I don't mind if the story takes a hit due to that (because we all know writing a good story with an MC that one shots everything is very difficult) but I will not entertain a story where the MC is dumb. It's unacceptable. He should die.

While I did compliment its potential, the story started traveling down the wrong path fairly early on. Most of this stuff could have been overlooked if the MC wasn't a walking, talking vegetable. <<less

I have really like dozens maybe even reach the 100+ isekai novel (good and some shitty ones), and I think this is a really well written novel.

It's doesn't try to invent new unique idea, but the character and the flow of the stories is well thought. The MC, the heroines, even the minor chara have their own uniqueness. The author doesn't follow your typical clique.

The MC, Hikaru, is a poggers compared to other isekai MC. He is not your generic innocent, too kind, indecisive MC. He is smart, arrogant, knows... more>> how to trick people, doesn't pull any punch when someone threathen his beloved one and he got one nasty toungue. The back and forth he did when someone is trying to pry his secret, or when he got angry was amazing.

The story. It's more on the "free adventuring, one arc one problem" style rather than having like a big over arching Arc, but it's written in such a way that it doesn't feel an arc. The small encounter he did in one arc would set a chain of events for the premise of the future arc, and he would stumble on another encounter that would cause the future future arc. It's great. <<less

It's a decent novel with some flaws. The main character is the main draw. He's pretty calculating, and behaves like a spy. He's a bit conceited because of his godly stats, and that results in moments of hubris for him. As he gradually gets used to the world, you can see his mindset slowly change. He's not a pure hero, but he's also not an edgy anti-hero, more of an opportunist that wants peace. The FL is the other draw. She is sidelined a lot, but that can be attributed... more>> to her upbringing limiting her ability to think on the fly compared to the MC.

The plot is relatively interesting, I think the latest arc is actually the most interesting so far. One big flaw is the MC has no motivation beyond his curiosity. After some of the initial arcs and conflict is settled, the MC doesn't really have anything to do, and it seems like the author struggles through some arcs to find something interesting to write about. That isn't to say the writing is boring, but some arcs detract from the MC. That isn't always a bad thing, because all of the side characters are fleshed out but they feel a little flat without the MC.

The biggest flaw is the power scaling of the universe. It would be fine if the author was a bit vague with it, or just brought it up occasionally, but the author is constantly bringing it up. Single points in skills make a dramatic difference in ability, but MC is a dramatically wield a good amount of them. The MC is constantly thinking how to best use them, but it seems like any use of them would make a dramatic difference and the MC can't go wrong, which reduces the tension behind them.

As I said at the start, it's a good story. It's not completely driven by cliches, and the characters are all designed well. The story loses its tension in the middle, but it's starting to regain it in the later arcs. <<less

Notice how most good reviews are from people who read < 100 chapters. That's because this started good but went downhill around chapters ~70.

Main character insist on being a nobody. Author kept the stats of the MC stagnant for 150 chapters!

MC has everything in stealth yet can fight stronger opponent (despite all his other stats being zero). Author completely ignored area of effect attacks or poison gas or insane speed or insane defense (basically anything that would make stealth useless).

The worse for me is the MC attitude, he has no... more>> reasons for doing most things he does past chapters 50. What's the point of him being an adventurer if he doesn't rank up? If he never claims his achievements? If nobody knows about him? Not to mention he has no reason to do so (no one can threaten him) and his wife's dream is to be adventures. He meets a Japanese girl who transmigrated at the same time as him, her level is 5x his, her fame/rank is far above his and she is doing great. It's very frustrating when he goes the extra mile to nerf himself and delays/stops his progress. (Especially without any reason!) <<less

The main character gets worse and worse by the chapter. The author gave him an actual personality and a good one at that but after around 30 chapters he just becomes a normal cliché beta japanese guy. He becomes really s*upid, reckless and soft. His character was supposed to be apathetic, arrogant and smart so you can see how badly it's messed up.

The story itself is very basic and not very interesting. MC is like a top-tier assassin but doesn't actually assassinate people, only monsters and beasts. It's kind of... more>> a let down. <<less

It looks like a snow in the summer. A MIRACLE. I would say. Behold! As in front of you is a collection of links that will take you to a world in an ORIGINAL novel! Yes! You heard right! This novel is original! Why do I say so, you ask? Well... Imagine an eminem rapping now and read: No typical reincarnation, no meeting gods, no being a choosen hero, no lazy start after arriving (first hour very stressfull), no s*aves, no harem, no being an idiotic character whenever meeting a... more>> new woman, no being liked by everyone at the start, no being the strongest in the world from the start, no nerfed ways to get stronger that any human with an earths common sense can abuse... And many many more of that! You now have the privilege of reading a novel that actually is different then other ones! I recommend it just for this. The way it is written will actually make you sleep better at night but not when there is something good going on in the story. I like it. You shall check it. At least read untill the first hour in the other world passes. <<less

I have no idea what some overly negative reviews are on about; they're criticizing this novel for what it isn't, instead of for what it is. And some sort of "I'm cleverer than you" type of nitpicking.

The story starts off with a little twist to the usual template, and this tendency continues throughout the novel; it's got its own little lore for the isekai template.

The cast is huge and colorful and interesting. It's lighthearted, the story always keeps you entertained; the world building is good; you're always privy to the... more>> MC's thoughts, goals, feelings, so it's easy to get absorbed into the story.

Cons: MC is indeed a Gary Stu and a 14-15 year old at that. But the story is fun and moves quickly so you forgive that. Romance - not much focus on that, only 2 (1.5?) girls. The author doesn't seem interested to spend time on it, but in a way it's good that the "will they won't they" was decided very early.

I've read tons of badly crafted, wish fulfillment type of stories here and this is definitely better than those.

Oh, the translation is great and makes it a joy to read. That's also a reason for my high score. <<less

So spent the last few days binge reading about 150 chapters of this story and well I would call the story okey/average for the most part. For instance to make the MC appear smart and cool the author will have the MC do a bunch of daring stuff like sneaking up on a queen, strongest knight of a captian and so on.

But even when he shows himself they can't find him out because he's wearing a mask a big issue here is that since it's a JP isekai story you might have already guessed it he has black hair and black eyes and like many other stories like this no one or almost no one else has these features. So you'd think that even if he wears a mask seeing as he is pretty much said to be the only male character on the continent to have black hair and black eyes that is also the same height and age as the assailant they would find him out quite easily right? Nope not at all even when he out in the open takes on a request to give a message to a queen the queen and her closest associate is unable to find any info on him for months even though he had openly shown himself, his credentials and his name were known by a multitude of people two of which worked with the queen and one of them being the sister of her close associate. On a side note he later on get's a "better" mask that only covers less then half his face but yeah not like anyone could find him out when they now even have about 60-70% of his face shown on top of super destinct features.

So yeah most people in the story are shown as being pretty dumb with the MC getting away with everything he does even though he should have gotten caught/hunted several times over with how he's acting and doing stuff.

[collapse]

Outside of that and the fact that his powers are pretty weird in how they make him the strongest and the fact that for some reason though he is said to be a 15 year old a little above average in school japanese student he has a multitude of knowledge like how to make a multitude of different alcoholic drinks and other stuff (at this point I am no longer suprised at how every jp teenage student seems to be a walking google/library of knowledge with eidict memory)

Anyhow outside of that the story is fairly easy going with the MC pretty much never getting any setbacks and everything falling his way- <<less

An extremely superficial novel.

Plot has no depth, most of the characters have less than 80 Iq and aren't capable of producing any complicated thoughts (MC isn't much different).

Same goes for the romance. It's no less unreasonable and superficial. Protagonist is heroine's saviour so it's possible to understand her feelings, but MC's devotion makes no sense whatsoever.

It is not a harem story but all the simple-minded female characters have some sort of feelings for our normal-looking 15yo protagonist. And it is annoying. There were 6 more potential heroines just in the... more>> first 40 chapters. What for?

And don't let the premise and first 2-3 chapters to fool you. MC is a typical japanese beta. No need to even think about killing thugs, villains and people who offend him, he is saving them instead.

I've dropped this sh*t after our 'assassin' MC went to save 5 thugs who did their best to shame him 10 minutes ago. <<less

Hikaru was reluctant to speak, but he had to tell her so he tried to endure the embarrassment.

「While we move, hold my hand and never let go.」he said as he held out his left hand.

So cringy. I know that JP LNs are generally infantile, but this one is outright immature. It may be a loud statement from someone who just completed c15, but everything about this novel is silly and devoid of substance.

When you pick an isekai JP novel, sadly, you already prepared to face a bunch of overused tropes, but this author took it to the new level, making me feel like he goes trough the generic checklist:

Spoiler
  • the ability to read the status of other people,
  • the adventurer guild,
  • a cute counter girl doing an introduction,
  • the first quest is herbs picking,
  • arrogant adventurers and underestimated MC,
  • catgirl receptionist in a hotel,
  • etc.
[collapse]

I can take only that much of overused tropes, but the author doesn't think so and keeps piling up. The worse part is that the author uses these tropes superficially and doesn't explore their potential. It just shows that he doesn't have anything good in mind and trying to assemble his story from the popular parts.

MC is also completely inane. His speech sounds childish and cringy, I doubt it's just because he is 15yo. It's more like the author's skill is inadequate for the task; he can more or less describe events and actions, but you can see how the quality is falling flat when it comes to characters talking. Chapter 15 was so awkward that I had to make pauses twice to stop myself from screeching and rolling on the floor. That was a very important dialogue for the future of the female lead and MC, but it was so autistic it felt like something wrote by an edgy kid. It destroyed any expectations I had for this pairing, here is a short quote:

Spoiler

- I'LL PROTEC!

- NO! STOP GIVIN' ME HOPES!

- I SWEAR I'LL SAVE YOU!

- THEN I WILL BE YOURS FOREVER

-------------------

They saw each other only once before and it only took a few minutes. It's that silly.

The next time I'll choose the novel with an Early Romance tag, I should read it while listening to Eurobeat to enjoy the speed.

[collapse]

2 stars are entirely for romance (as lame as the rest of the novel though) and s*x. We need more romance in the action genre; as well as female leads that are not fading into the background with time. It's frustrating when MC's girlfriend (s) only allowed to make an appearance every 50-100 chapters. Harem is ok too, it just has the same requirements as one_true_love story. Also, I hate teasing, so early s*x is really welcomed even without going into p*rno-tier details. It gives more screentime for important things like a plot for example. <<less

The plots not original, and the characters aren't particularly unique.

Frankly, if I want to look for either of those, I don't go to NU.

It's written well enough that these don't really hinder it too badly for me.

In short, it's literary popcorn, tasty, but not high quality, healthy, or in any way complex.

The idea for this series was promising and I had so much hope, getting myself ready to read all 414 chapters, but the MC's mindset and actions made me drop a series that I loved its concept in only 28 chapters.

He is someone who wants to keep his actual powers hidden (probably until a suitable time), which I like in a story, but then everyday he unnecessarily makes decisions and do things that goes exactly against that. Targeting anyone and everyone for s*upid reasons while he hasn't made himself strong... more>> enough and instead of focusing on making himself stronger.

But no worries. Author is so obsessed with stealth skills that he makes a newbie with a low level outwitting and outperforming the strongest people in the kingdom right from the start. And to add to this, MC thinks he is so smart, while in actuality author makes everyone else so s*upid to not figure out he is behind the incidents despite leaving so much evidence and attracting so much suspect. I couldn't continue. I like MC not revealing his actual potential in a different world right from the start like an idiot, but I don't like nosy, arrogant and edgy MCs that think of themselves as invincible from the start. <<less

Oh god. I just wrote a review in which I said that, after writing a really intensive review, I am too tired to write an in depth review, and to be fair it was super shallow compared to what I usually write for literature. Now the irony bites me, because I am now too tired to even try to write a review for this series, which is one of my favorite.

Five stars. I love this series. I have not read better from light/web novels, though I have read one or... more>> two that are probably on par. This is a really, really good series. Read it. Try it at least. Even if you do not love it, you will not regret it unless it happens to be really, really what you hate (if you just hate fantasy). But if you like fantasy at all, try it! <<less
