By some ill fortune, Hikaru died in a traffic accident. He was in heaven standing in line, waiting to be judged, when he took an unexpected request to transfer his soul to a person in another world. He received an ability called Soul Board which he could use to allocate points to Skills to make himself more powerful.

But there was a catch…

「I want you to take revenge on someone for me within an hour. If you don’t, I’ll destroy your soul.」

To pull off the task assigned to him, he poured all his available points to the Stealth skill tree.

This is a story of a boy who specialized in Stealth. With his skill trees as weapons, he would demonstrate his unrivaled strength in another world.

I think you really shouldn't compare the LN with the WN, because both of them have completely different story style. Just think one of them as "alternative route" or "What IF world" (though world building wise, they're not really compatible with each other). The WN focus a lot more on 'chaotic free adventuring story where the MC goes around the world while accidentally uncovering secrets of the world", while the LN is more of 'stay in one place' type of story.

As for reviewing the LN. I will do that after... more>> vol. 6 or so cause I think best part of the author (Yasuaki Mikami-sensei) are on the later volume, not the early ones. One the thing I really like about the WN is how the world feel very much alive. Like things would started/happened without the MC input. So more often than not, the MC would stumble upon already developing situation.

Addition:

I'm back! Just like I promised, waited until volume 6 or so before writing any reviews. So what's the verdict.

Like I said earlier, this is a very much "alternative version" scenario written with completely different style targeted for different audience. The LN is more "generic" or "mainstream" you can say. Hikaru (the male MC) is a LOT more mellow and less spicy tongue, there are a lot more typical 'gigolo make other girls love the MC'. The story was a lot more 'main character driven' and less adventury. The Holy-Evil/Accursed attributes have been downgraded to just another generic curse stuff, not the otherworldly mythical attributes in the WN.

I don't want to be too harsh since I really like WN and LN, but I prefer the WN much more. I really like that 'chaotic free adventuring accidentally uncovering secrets/lore' feeling and that very spicy arrogant conversation Hikaru would have. <<less

I love this LN!! I was wary that this LN would turn into a harem/erotica genre with how it starts, but it didn't. Instead, this is what I expect out of an adventure plot! Each story arc has its own unique flavor to where it balances the outrageousness of OP MC and the unexpectedness of whatever antagonist they're up against.

By no means that this is realistic since the plot rides of MC's OPness but it's fun to read! There's enough indepth drama and light hearted conflicts to keep the reader... more>> engaged. I can almost compare this to a less dramatic and unorganized version of tr*sh of the Count's Family. I'm probably going to get a lot of hate for that comparison but it's the best I've got and what it reminds me of. The absurdity is there but the characters and plot are most definitely different. It's just a matter of the adventure aspect I like. <<less

I gave this a chance (chaps are very long) due to the rave fans, but I was fooled. The most special this novel could get, is just a slower paced version of an isekai. To me, JP story writing is generally flawed, the mass produced isekais are mostly casual slice of life stories with no plot, antagonists, and half the time with self destructive harem.

My confess for you is if u r n a phase of liking isekais, you'll probably like this, as slower paced usually means more thought of... more>> storyline, but if u read a lot or want a more attention grabbing interesting story, this is not for you. <<less
