she loves Song Yan just the way he deserves to be loved after all his years of waiting for her. She healed his wounds, valued his memories and cherished them. She turned his worst moments into something beautiful and magical. She protected him from the scrutiny of her family, and fought for him against her brooding uncle and prejudiced Grandfather. She comforted him and became his safe haven through his nightmares.

His love for her is precious, rare, obsessive (in the best way possible, don't worry), persistent, and everything in between. He loves her unconditionally without asking for anything in return, except for the hope and wish that she may come to love him in return too, and boy did that wish come true!

Even the drama/movies described in here are all ones that I'd legit watch if they were real. Especially 'Ice City'. Not gonna lie, I cried when I read its story. Coming from a country that has fought and sacrificed endless precious lives for the basic human right, that is freedom, this fictional movie plot managed to touch a part of my heart in a way I never thought possible.

when she know ML in love with her for the past 10 year, and the way she cure his trauma, its sooo cheesy but I am a sucker for them

and I really love ML dirty talk hahaha it feel out of chara and give suprise not only for MC but for me as well

But I was a little bit disappointed when it shows that it was just really a contract, yet moment later *boom* ML's actually in love with her for years, when I said years, I meant literal f*cking YEARS.

I even suspect that he joined the entertainment industry for her because of the ML's mentor's story when he first started acting.

1. The first CP

The reason why this triggered me was because FL was condemned for years.

Called insults and names, all for who? For a cheater who doesn't even have guts?

Also, I hate her manager in this part wherein they can actually counter the accusations but told her not to. Like why would you let your own people be condemned when you can actually have the upper hand?

Also, the cheater's partner, I kinda feel sorry for her but, girl why you only blame the FL when cheating's two way decision, in the first place your man's the one insisted on the CP things not FL yet she was the only one who suffered.

2. Her Uncle

Maybe this one is quite personal and unreasonable. I kinda hate how he didn't help her when she need the most (talking about the incident above)

Although, it's reasonable because FL have a huge fight with him regarding her career as an actress.

His character settings really put me on the edge, his character is the type person I wouldn't wanna educated and even bother explaining things about.

His feudal beliefs run deeps through his blood that he really stand on his belief in even the last moment, for example, FL joining entertainment industry, ML's pursue of FL, his brother's restaurant, his feelings in this three matters can only said to be disdain. Though I don't blame maybe it was deep-rooted on his upbringings (or maybe that's just how the FL portray him.)

But I wouldn't want to meet this kind of person as their belief was really deep-rooted in their veins, it's hard to change their minds.

I hope I'm wrong about him tho.

3. Ambiguous writing

So, I think this is quite debatable but there's this a little mannerism of Chinese author to always highlights the protagonist's characteristics. For example, the author dubbed FL as the top, the best and a high ranking actress with best acting skills and all or the ML with good reputation and a film emperor, something like that.

Yet the next moment, they'll introduced new character, highlighting their best characteristics and somehow compares the protagonist, and tells us that this new character is much more greater than the protagonist at some point. Like maybe next time if you want to high a character's good point just and not suddenly making them worst in comparison when a new character is introduced, caused that's irritating me for sure.

Wen Li and Song Yan have known each other since they were teens and Song Yan has been in love with her since he was eighteen.

It will take a fair amount of time until Wen Li actually opens up and realizes that she likes him back. For a good chunk of the story Song Yan is making concessions and giving in to her. However, it never feels like too much? Like, despite him being absolutely whipped for her, it never feels like he is choosing her and her wants/needs over his own wellbeing (if that makes sense). I think it is not until episode six or seven of the couple's variety show that they're on so... buckle up. But once she realizes that she's in love (and finds out he has been in love with her for forever?) Oh... the relationship is cavity inducing.

they were upset/disappointed that Wen Li's management team didn't immediately bite back and dispute the claims of her being a homewrecker. But it makes sense why?? I mean, let's be so fr here. Society is so much nicer on men than they are on women when it comes to cheating scandals. And she was a newbie actress at the time. Or, at least, certainly not as seasoned as he was. She did not have his clout or his fanbase. Going head to head was going to be futile and really, denying so hard was only going to make others believe in the rumors even more?? And it's not like the manager sat back and did nothing?? She just couldn't outright attack and dispute the rumors so instead her advice was to create a solid foundation with a dedicated fanbase and a more lengthy, reputed career while they wait for succinct, solid evidence. Like idk... have the opinions you want but let's be a little realistic here please.

this isn't like other C-novels where the FL is some amazing green tea heroine. She's not a schemer and she doesn't connive. She fights her enemies pretty head on and uses their own mistakes and faults against them. So, not OP there. If you mean background then sure... but she is entirely removed from her family (per the agreement with her uncle) and so she has gotten to where she is by her own merit and hard work. In his case, his family went bankrupt and though they are later said to be living in a villa in an affluent neighborhood, it is implied that he also got everything he has on his own merit (mans is a critically acclaimed actor as well as co-ceo of an entertainment company... yeah, he's got money and connections). If you mean because of the ML helping her, then I don't find that to be true either because aside from 2-sh instances (the painting where he got in contact with her dad for her and when he records her junior for her) where he directly helps her, he lets her solve her problems on her own. If it's because they seem to get everything they want then?? Because it's a novel? But also, it's not like they don't actually put forth any effort. There are quite a few chapters of them both working to practice their lines and to make sure that they get things right. Yes they get the roles but it's not like they just fall into their laps.

The Couple Pairing (CP) stans are pretty funny. I quite liked reading their comments. It might get tedious and bothersome for some, but it was nice for me. When the leads fall in love they are IN LOVE. She also really sticks up for him to her grandpa and uncle. None of this nonchalant, vague bs. She straight up tells them that if they make her choose between them and him, she will choose him and that they better not try to pull anything on him again. The slow burn relationship isn't so slow you get annoyed but it isn't so fast that it is unsatisfactory. The FL is competent and makes a conscious choice to do things on her own and not unnecessarily involve the ML however she will go to him if need be. The "villains" aren't really villains. Just cannon fodder. Speaking of cannon fodder, we actually get a small snapshot of the actual cannon fodder (aka weibo stans).

I wish we got to see more of WenWen. She's a real one. I wish the Bai Sen got some closure. Does he get back together with Zhang Churui? I think that would be cute... The part about her uncles getting married was so glossed over it was insane. Her grandpa went to visit Song Yan's family to apologize but that part got no air time?? I wanted more with their kids. It was so rushed. She's not pregnant then boom, she's giving birth. Does Xu Li get a girlfriend? Actually I wish her younger brother was more fleshed out as a character in general. I wish Tang Jiaren was also a genuine antagonist/threat. No, I don't mean a walking scheming woman cliche, but an actual adversary that made Wen Li sweat for more than a few chapters.

the two main characters are a bit too OP / perfect.

He already loved her since their high school time and I think, considering MC's action after being a star, I assumed that she also had some feelings towards ML, although not much. If not, she wouldn't actively seek ML's news after his debut and also watch all his movies. And considering her personality, she wouldn't make ML her marriage contract if she didn't like him.

FL and ML have opposite attributes, and having survive 2 years of contractual marriage was a wonder in itself.

FL is full of drama, and ML is quite sentimental. But I like that their marriage doesn't equate a monk-like style. It shows that love isn't just physical. The story depicts a deep love that has to be understood before it can be treasured.

I definitely enjoyed the characters. Both of them showing their love in the sweetest way. I rlly like the dynamic between the couple in private in comparison to them in public.

They have that combination of a quiet but powerful ML falling silently for the silly and likable MC. I love that kinda plot with all my heart especially because they are both smart and successful.

I love the way every small detail got caught by their fans and how it developed so that their story will leak slowly to the public.

What I didn't like that much was that the fan comments were dragging the story in the end a little bit. It felt a bit dragging in the end overall. But that might be because I lose interest easily after the couple getting together.

The last few chapters were a bit rushed but I didn't mind it that much as the story isn't that dramatic.

The drama wasn't spectacular and the couple didn't seem so OP but I mean it's part of the genre. So no crazy faceslapping : (

It was a nice story when you wanna read a bit of fluff.
