Song Yutian transmigrated into a sweet romance entertainment novel as a cannon-fodder supporting character. In the original plot, she joins an outdoor competitive variety show “Unexpected Challenges” to pursue the male lead, only to face constant humiliation and eventually withdraw from the industry.

Song Yutian: What’s a male lead? Don’t distract me from my career.

The audience initially assumed Song Yutian would be the decorative contrast character. But when the show aired—

Day 1: Song Yutian carried her CEO teammate while quipping, “Not bad for someone with functional brain cells.”

Day 2: Song Yutian dominated the competition and publicly shamed a misogynist: “Exploiting women? Know your place!”

During breaks, Song Yutian coolly addressed romance rumors: “Do you think romantic validation is women’s only aspiration?”

Gradually, the show’s focus shifted from competition results to watching Song Yutian roast men while winning.

Audience: More! Sister Song, keep burning them! We’re here for this!

Male contestants developed mixed reactions – some seethed with resentment, some fawned for alliances, and others…

Simultaneously seethed and fawned.

Loved it. Simple as that.

There is a lack of c-novels that promotes solidarity of women. Even when the main character is a woman. Just a few weeks ago I read a QT novel where MC was constantly put against two dimensional women who's only characteristics are being jealous and love-brained. All this just to elevate the MC. "Look I am different from them" seemed to be the main message.

This novel had MC speaking out about the double standards on a how a woman is treated on a regular basis. The... more>> subtle everyday sexism that is thrust upon women. Here is a scene that I particularly loved.
Spoiler

When the OG FL of the story was treated like a vase by the OG ML, both fragile and unable to do anything but follow his wishes, MC comes in and gives her space and gives her encouragement to show off her skills.

The writer did put in a woman who was jealous of MC's achievements but other than some light bantering, even the jealous girl didnt try to do anything to sabotage the MC like so many novel villains do.

Another thing I loved about this novel is the ML. I didnt even know he was the ML until the last few chapters. I love when the love interest is concealed until the last moment. It gives an element of surprise. Even though there were some subtle hints given here and there,
Spoiler

I was actually dreading the fact that maybe the author was going to ship MC with the OG ML who definitely didnt deserve her.

.

The variety show had some fun things happening in it as well.

I always I really liked the ML. He is a perfect fit for the MC. The novel ends on a lovely note and thus I won't stop recommending it as a light read. <<less
