There was a time where I was summoned to a different world. I spent more than a year as a Priestess from a different world. I fulfilled my role and decided to return to my original world. Before leaving, I confessed my feelings to my escort knight. And from there I was heartbroken. After returning to the original world for a year and half, I was summoned again. What? Apparently this time, nobody summoned me. I was sent out to a great extent and have a lost love. I cannot face anyone now! No one knows that I was a former Priestess and I can only quickly return to my original world. Even so, it does not seem to work out very well…

The "I'm just a normal girl trying to live a commoner life but these powerful guys/nobles keep pestering me" trope has been somewhat exhausted by now in Japanese webnovels but its popular for a reason, imo. This series also does a fresh take on it, so even if it's not taking any huge risks plot-wise, the story still has something to set it apart from your typical version of this trope.

Unlike other novels where the MC remains "normal" by purposefully hiding her specialness/sainthood, this novel's MC is an ex-saint so... more>> therefore lacks all the fancy powers and privileges she had before. But, being an ex-saint, she is familiar with what it's like to be one, which adds more depth and complexity to her struggle to adapt to her new normalness in this fantasy world.

In my opinion the MC is written pretty realistically:
Spoiler

she feels both nostalgic about her old privileges and relieved to be a commoner; she seems determined to go home but is also practical about settling in temporarily; she feels envious/jealous of the new Saint but not hatefully so, more of a from-a-distance kinda feeling; she has lingering feelings for her old crush (which is completely reasonable imo bc judging from the text they hung out together almost 24/7 for a year and she says she was pretty dependent on him) but she did/does her best to let him go after being rejected; she doesn't tell everyone about being the former Saint but knows she needs the help of her former associates; etc. Etc.

It makes a novel more enjoyable as a whole when the primary character feels more relatable.

At the time I'm writing this review the story is just be getting started so I'm only gonna give it 4 stars as I feel it's still too early to reeaally judge the series. But with the recent update the plot seems to have picked up a lil so I'm eager to know what happens next! Thanks to the translator and editor for their great work :) <<less

In simple term: this novel is mostly about someone that can't get over a rejection.

If you feel a strong annoyance when you deal with a friend who cannot get over his crush after rejection or a fallout with his girlfriend, YOU WILL DEFINITELY NOT ENJOY THIS NOVEL AT ALL.

Chapter 1 is a lie to both the MC herself and the readers. She said she will be an adult, naturally we readers assume she will left whatever feelings behind and search anew or at least keep being single without any attachments... more>> left, but chapter 2 proves otherwise. Where's the resolution the MC speak off? A mere lie.

Realistic? I don't think so. In the premise, there's never a relationship blossoming between the supposed male lead and the heroine to act as an anchor for plot point. Then there's a 1.5 year gap without any contact whatsoever. Enough time to forget those feelings or at least dumb them down so that the supposed male lead will just be a mere coworker relationship at best.

I actually expect a story where the MC is annoyed to be summoned again and wished to come back home, and during this time, the romance rekindled by sheer coincidence or at least done by the male lead, and ML tries to persuade the heroine to stay. NOT THE OTHER FREAKING WAY AROUND.

The only thing I saw in the MC is that she is pathetic to be unable to move on even after 1.5 years away without any contact whatsoever.

The good thing about this novel is the exposition is used in a good manner and the pacing is alright, the translation is great. The plot transition is also believable, no Deus ex or tr*sh plot tool used (for now). These good points are the only reason why I rate it at 4 instead of 3. <<less

This novel is based on two premises that I haven't seen too often in Western or Eastern novels: 1) what happened after the heroine did her job? And 2) what happens if you are summoned but aren't needed? In this case, Our Heroine went home and lived quietly for 18 months, and then when she got re-summoned, she went and got a job. There's also a third not-often-seen scenario here: Haruka's love is unrequited and she doesn't try to pester Noel into loving her back! She actually tries to let... more>> him go.

This novel is very much slice of life and what plot there is, if there's any, has yet to make itself known. If you want plot at breakneck speed, this is not the story for you. But if you like gentle progression and worldbuilding, take a look. <<less

This is a VERY slow story. Like, what has happened in the past 29 chapters could have been condensed to under 10 and it would not have made a difference. It has potential, but there is no activity or conflict or intrigue. Nobody seems to really but that concerned about her reappearance.

There has been 1 scene with her and the confession guy, which was lackluster at best. He is oblivious and doesn't seem to have any personality. Not shy, not cold, not anything. He could be a statue.

The MC just... more>> seems to drift through the story. There is not action on her part. No research or thinking or planning about how she got back, what she is going to do, how is she going to find her way back home.

Things are just happening very slowly. It's a restaurant story so far. And not even an interesting cooking one.

I don't think I will keep reading when it gets updated. It's just so grey. <<less

I wholeheartedly agree with Elizabrush's assessment of this novel. The way the author handled Haruka's struggle while adjusting to being thrown back in a foreign world as the former Saint "Harutia" gives it a bit of an edge over similar themed novels.

Her life as the Set Meal Shop's Bento Delivery Girl is relaxing even with the 'conspiracy' over her forceful return. This chronicles Haruka's journey of seeing this world outside the gilded cage of a Saint.

Spoiler

The romantic development is admittedly frustrating and lacking. The couple tragically have few scenes thanks to spending time apart from each other over the duration of the novel.

On the bright side, Their late night talks can be heartwarming and funny since Noel either ends up exasperated by her stubbornness or Haruka flustered by his casual teasing.

Though Haruka's constant melancholic musings over Noel can be a bit annoying. But she tries hard to mature once she got over her insecurities. And boy, Haruka did a lot of s*upid decisions avoiding her Knight ("In your eyes, you'd rather reach out to them than me?"). To the point that Noel finally snapped when the eccentric Summoner teleported her and got her in huge trouble.

Let's call it Character Development and a much needed life lesson.

Wow! I like the story so far. The MC is likeable and doesn't have something like super power or cheat like power like most of fantasy web novel. The characters are all realistic and relatable like what other reviews are saying.

Sorry for my poor english as I am still in the middle of learning. That's why I can't say anything about the grammar but I think the point is getting cross to me. Now in c22 the MC Haruka and the Knight which she tried to avoid is finally having... more>> a reunion. I really can't wait for the next update! <<less

It is too onesided for me to continue to read it.

It is like reading a diary, without an emotional connection to characters. It lacked the "show" part and is full of "tell" element. It looked like characters are stifled and lost.

So I stopped at 28th chapter. Story might have been great but the storytelling ruined it for me.

Hmmm, this novel is intriguing.

Grammar: 3/5

Writing: 4.8/5

Story: 3.5/5

The grammar is passable with a few mistakes along the way that cause the word flow to break up. The writing is where this novel shines. The characters are realistic and relatable, the story has some depth to it, and the plot seems to be thickening already (in a Mystery 'Who-done-it' kind of way). The story itself uses a common troupe but also gives it a rather sour twist making it all the more enjoyable.

I look forward to reading more of this series.
