Plot is nice but typical Japanese MC that's why I'm not gonna rate it higher than this.

His previous party members ridiculed him, totally bashed him for unreasonable reasons

But our typical MC bets his life to save them cause they're his former companion lol

The translation quality is good! If anyone wants to read this novel after reading the manga then ch 8 of the manga is equal as ch 18 of the novel.

Okay now to the story, personally while I think the guide book is waaaay too convenient... I think this novel is really interesting. Why? Because this novel is taking the POV from the NPCs that we abused back when we were playing our RPGs. (lol)

Remember how we used to steal take stuff from NPCs house?

Remember how we used to explore... more>> the whole dungeon before going to the main quest?

Remember how we spent hours (days in game world I guess) doing side quest? And exploring?

Well this novel takes the view of how the NPCs feels like when we do that!

The only thing I don't like is.. because the translator decided to put the translation on wattpad. You need to have a wattpad account to be able to read it and I personally won't bother making a new account in another platform just to read something. Of course you can still connect your google account to wattpad if you don't want to make wattpad account. It is a liiiiittle bit inconvenient. I think maybe that's why there's no review yet on this novel and the reading list is not much either? <<less

It's a well written example of its genre, being the comeback of the wrongfully kicked party member. Its above 3 stars (average, neither good nor bad) but below 5 stars (amazing) making it a 4 star (good) story in my opinion.

Great translation quality till chapter 23 by ShazzamSPQR.

After chapter 23 Miwu takes over and the quality drops down from great to the high end of average. To be fair, Miwu's translation is not bad. It's better than many others I've read. If I had read the story from the start... more>> with them I would have not been unhappy at all. <<less

Right off the bat this novel is off to a mediocre start. It's a common pitfall with these kinds of stories: how can an author create a capable main character who nevertheless is discarded by his companions?

Normally authors handle that by making the party that kicks him out unrealistically s*upid, and this novel is no exception.

If you want to read a version of this premise that's actually done well read Hazure Skill ‘Mapping’ instead. An MC who gets kicked out of the party due to his own bad behavior and... more>> underachievement and who then slowly works to redeem himself is a much more satisfying story. <<less

it's almost as if a majority of authors never interacted with normal people before
it's either one of two extremes in personality either so nice and forgiving despite
what is done to them or so hateful you would mu*der a whole town for bad service.
this being a jp novel you can guess which one this is, you would normally return what
is given or not return hatred with niceness like this MC.

What's with all the trigger happy reviews after 1st chapter? The first couple of chapters are basically setup for the story which is nothing like it.

The MC is a decent bloke who is down on his luck but is rewarded by fate with a book of knowledge (basically a fan wiki of the world and it's mysteries). What proceeds is equivalent of him attempting to get the best endings in Fallout New Vegas.

Solid writing, good character development, diverse environments, and actual resolutions to storylines/quests.
