Giving this novel a second try, I kinda wish I didn't.

It's getting pretty f*cking annoying. The actual story keeps getting cut short by f*cking POV switches about minor characters giving us a tale as to how amazing our MC is and how much he's changed their lives for the better. To be honest I'm hesitating to say that it even has a main story, cause they way things are it's more of a collection of short stories about the Super Amazing Chad MC That we might as well call Jesus 2.0 and well, it's fine if you like stories like that, but it gets pretty f*cking annoying for me if you do it 5 times each chapter for the whole story.

The writing, whether it's the fault of the translator or... more>> the author himself, is difficult to read. The flow feels terrible, almost as if it's trying to sound poetic but end up sounding f*cking pretentious and annoying. Based on the works I've read from the translator, I'd like to believe it's the fault of the author himself and that the translator is just doing his best to salvage this hot garbage. TL;DR The story is only ever telling and almost never showing. If you like reading a different character recount tales of the Super Amazing chad MC each chapter then go ahead read it. If you find it annoying then avoid and don't waste your time.

Here are my thoughts from when I've only read 12 chapters.
Spoiler

In my opinion, its an alright novel so far if you're into the whole "legendary man character", but for me, I don't like the way everything's been presented.

Having an arc then giving some hints as to the kind of legends it makes years later on adds some nice flavor to stories, but having it every chapter?

That just gets annoying for me, it ruins any flow the chapters have. To have at the starting chapter, okay that'll be be great to generate intrigue, but when its being forced on you for each chapter on end, that's just too much man.

I also don't like the whole feel of the story, it's too "praisey" if that makes sense. In that they praise the MC for stuff he does too much. I don't mind if you praise him, but heavens above why do you praise him so constantly for stuff we haven't even seen him do, it just ends up feeling weird to read for me.

I feel like this could be a good example of a novel being "Show, don't tell, " in where the author is only ever telling us things, but never really showing us. There's some parts of actual story in the chapters but they all feel disconnected, like the author brings up a side story every time a new character gets introduced and okay sure that's fine, but if it spans the whole chapter, the original story gets lost because of it.

I might be wrong as these are just the first few chapters.

But then again, If I get too annoyed at the first few chapters, I won't be too inclined to read the rest of it. You might disagree and if so just make a review your own.

I give up, try to give it a chance but there is simply nothing remarkable.
I will be as clear as possible.

The first 10 chapters are only an explanation of everything that surrounds the protagonist, how incredible is and how he is worshiped by everyone, then each chapter that focuses on development is followed by another chapter (s) explaining the characters involved, so that of 30 chapters only 7 (or less) shows a development and the others are of presentation of each thing since the author can not make "exposition"... more>> instead of explaining everything.

It can be said that instead of read chapters of how the MC is acquiring his power or interacts with other characters gradually, here it is only explained by the character to present in turn how got to know the MC and worship him.

Then follow what is already personally something that generates disgust and fatigue, despite not being Isekai, the MC is the typical Japanese protagonist who does not want to stand out and is cowardly and useless with the opposite s*x.

Maybe the novel improves, I don't know, but I wasted time reading a biography of each character before even knowing the MC, but when this is presented is another hetare more, as if I can have motivation to read another MC that is self-underestimated by no reason beyond being written by a Japanese. <<less

I usually don't write reviews, but I wanted to give this novel a bit of justice.

First of all, ignore anybody who wrote reviews before chapter 50. The translater clearly stated that the first part of the novel would be one giant infodumb, introducing the MC, his allies, enemies, love interests and more; Worldbuilding, to put it shortly.

Secondly, after the worldbuilding is done, the story gets better, with less POV switches. The story moves foward and becomes FAR more interesting than it was during the worldbuilding arc.

Thirdly, it handles the Harem... more>> part better and more interestingly than most other stories. Don't get me wrong, it's far from perfect. However, it's almost impossible to handle a Harem perfectly, so being better than average is a great achievement.

Overall, it's a great 4/5 story that I would recommend. It's the kind of story where you look forward to the kind of surprises the Mary Sue MC has in store for you with each new chapter. Just, power through the first 40-50 chapters of hard-to-handle infodumbs and POV switches. The real story starts after that, so take it as necessary worldbuilding and introductions to understand the story better later on. You can also choose to skip it, but that would leave you with lots of questions, so I don't recommend doing that.

I forgot to mention, but the translation is also high-quality, which makes it very easier to power throught the infodumb at the beginning. <<less

Beware that the review below gives a basic idea of the progression of the story so naturally minor spoilers.

At the time of writing, the story can be broken up into 3 parts that are each completely different animals.

The first part is mainly introducing the base cast and this is told from different POV perspectives of the base cast. It was an interesting style that I hadn't seen before and enjoyed until it dragged on for far longer than necessary.

... more>> 2/5

The second part is primarily a war phase as well as possibly the largest bit of progression for the different heroines. You get introduced to different allies for the MC as well as nice interactions between the MC and his love interests.

4/5

The third and current part is governing phase. So far it's enjoyable and you can see the connections that the MC has built up coming into play.

So far : 4/5 <<less

If you survive those god awful immense circlejerking of the MC by various characters (there's a loooot of them lol) chapters, which lasted far too long for an average reader's taste, you will find the story gradually more interesting.

The MC and some of his subordinates are OP and have had not much trouble dispatching baddies so far. Also, MC has finally stopped being spineless about women and got laid awakening his s*x King prowess (I doubt he beats Aegir from Road to Kingdom though xD).

The translation is currently at territory... more>> building phase and I look forward to when he finally starts the conquest. <<less

I don't remember much of the story since I read the first dozen or so chapters of it a year or two ago. However I do remember dropping it after the start of the story was filled with massive spoilers of (past and) epilouge of the story that sometimes was being told like a report. To the point that I didn't see what was the point of continuing to read it. From what I remember, structure wise, author royally messed up in how to tell the story.

For me this is a new thing in story like never before
I know it's a bit annoying but still refreshing~
Author want to give background story to important character because he skip MC early journey from child to present day
If author use the usual way to write the story, maybe it takes 100 chapter to obtain this with a separate main & side story. It also can take 50 chapter with only main story with many time skip but think again, side story/different POV is a spice to... more>> the story itself because usually we only have 0 - 3 side story in every volume <<less

You can describe One word, about this novel, it's " bedtime Story ". I am not criticism about this novel, this novel is good. If you love POV or if you are fan of SC, this novel is for you. Too much POVs make this novel unreadable for others. As review said, story goes exactly like that and fun to read. Not that much plot trick or plot armor. MC is straightforward overpowered so very simple plot. And greatest weakness is having a lot of POV and story is in... more>> a cycle and not f*cking reach to it's main point. But Story is go on fast pace. So as I said, this one is like " bedtime Story ". If you love Fantasy genre, you should read it. <<less

it started of well for first 5 chapters but its been like instead of telling a story the pov just keeps on switching to random people talking about greatness of MC which is good for 1 chapter but now it just feels a badly written plot, will see for a few more chapters for now I'm leaving it at 3 stars as there maybe better chapters later on

Edit: it still continues with the monologue, 2 stars now

... more>> C 63

Now the story has really started to clear up and becoming quite

4 stars now <<less

I think it is a very good story but the spoiler of what happens to the character after every bg story is kinda bad. It kind of ruins the anticipation for the story. Skip the first 50 chapters if you don't like the side stories of the people near our MC (I don't recommend it though as you will miss a lot of world building). The plot is slow and I can see the reason why people don't like it but I find it very refreshing having a detailed scene... more>> of the happenings in the story. After the 50 chapters of side stories is the main plot which

is the Imperial Capital arc. It gets interesting after that with the various factions trying to get more power and become the ruler of the Arcadia Empire.

There isn't much deus ex machina as our MC is very overpowered from the start and is getting stronger each battle. Author really takes care of its readers, leaving no unanswered question. Overall it is very good as I like war, strategy, territory management and op MC in novels I read. I just wish the plot goes faster because I can't wait on what happens in the future. <<less

It actually gets pretty good... If you can survive the first ~50 chapters.

The first arc involves a lot of POV switches introducing characters and their connection to the main character... But there's a LOT of it. More than the actual plot. By the end it felt like torture.

BUT if you can power through those, it becomes an enjoyable read with some war stuff, scheming, harem building, and it turned out to be a fairly complex story with lots of motivations and interests clashing in the background.

So ultimately I do recommend... more>> it but do keep in mind that it makes you work hard before it's willing to entertain you. <<less
