In 2031 A.D. mysterious crystal bodies referred to as 『C.E.』 attacked. Humanity was gradually pushed down the road to ruin.

This is the story of a great hero who save the Earth from destruction with his shining holy sword――not.

In history during humanity’s grimmest hour, this is the story of the overshadowed hero, a lone spear user.

In often cases, this would be a story about a cheat protagonist and his harem; but, this story is from the point-of-view of a supporting character that shows the conspiracy behind such plots.

Basically, the theme is school battles.

This is a mix of Baka to Testo to Shukanju with apocalypse monster invasion-type story. Unfortunately, it just doesn't work: the kids are supposed to be the chosen ones that are risking their lives to save the world, but idiotic "school system" arbitrarily discriminates them purely based on the characteristics of their special weapons. The normal reaction would be to say "if you don't want me then I won't do it!" and rage quit.

A supposed to be dark themed series but with ironically unfitting romantic comedy jokes. The tone is not properly directed, it feels like it was apocalyptic but everyone acts like they're having picnic. They're soldiers but they behaved like kindergartener that shown off their toys and beating each other, the one with the fanciest toy become the center of attraction.

The author is dumbing down all the characters in the series to make his plot works. He tried to make plots about conspiracy, unfortunately it fails to deliver. My only reaction... more>> when the author described his conspiracy plot was "what, that's it?" <<less

This is an unconventional story. It is not about the hero who will stop the evil CEs. It is about the kid who will only be remembered as the stepping stone for that hero. He is the one that is "harmful to man." The "snobby" kid who is the enemy at the start of every school story. But that story of the hero is a lie. This is the true story of the widely known hero epic. The tale of the struggles of the weak, of the misunderstood, of the... more>> disposable foot soldiers who see the real war. The tale of the true hero, crushed under the false.

Now, this is a novel that will make you hate it, but love it. You will love the struggle of the MC and his heroism. There is something you need to know, this has two story in it. The story of the MC. And at the end of some chapters, the recorded history of the world. The first time you read it, it will throw you through a loop.

It has a slow feeling pace to it, but we are on the 4th arc at 30 chapters. It is not the best written story, but it is an good read. It has varying chapter lengths, but is a short read. And with only 120 chapters, it won't be to long when it ends. I suggest that everyone at least gives it a try. If anything you will enjoy the premise. <<less

The writing is OK, but there are so many plot holes and inconsistencies that it leaves the reader frustrated. The author has created a world setting that seems to operate entirely without logic, for no other reason than to craft a narrative that is both outlandish and unbelievable. Explaining these things would constitute spoilers, however, and as I have no desire to mess with spoiler tags for this story I'll end my review with this:

The author discards common sense and logic, resulting in a protagonist that is needlessly persecuted and... more>> vilified for no substantial reason. What's more, the protagonist and everyone around him seems fine with letting this happen, and even supports these actions. Find a better story to read. <<less

The story is a send up to the tropes of many Japanese LNs, though when it occasionally indulges in those tropes, the effect is somewhat mitigated. Despite those lapses, the story is still readable, with a sense that the author has something in mind slowly developing. The early chapters give a greater impression that the story is the thing it mocks, but there is some potential here. That's why this bird gives it 3 stars, just slightly above average.
