For a reincarnation genre novel, this one could be considered refreshing. Not the protagonist or antagonist, heck they don't even know she's the saint. It's rather fun and addicting. Better read it if you like to take a break from all the stereotype MC.

Just what you'd expect from a transported to another world story but the pacing feels much faster so more things happen so if you're craving transmigration story, I'd recommend this. Character's are a bit simple but have their own quirks as we get to know them more and more, translation from cloudytl is quite smooth and pleasant to read as well.

Very pleasant read like a nice light-hearted snack~

very light slice of life. I don't mind light stories and I don't mind slice of life, but put it together with shoujo and isekai and all I can do is shrug and give up. For my own part, I'm left wondering how I even arrived at this story as the MC has typical shoujo heroine traits that I find irritating and this is not the kind of story I normally read.

i kept waiting for the MC to lose her temper or at least tell someone, anyone, "no." she is... more>> kind, overly trusting, innocent despite her age, hardworking, selfless, and cannot say no to anyone. She's better than the total carpet personality but not by much; typical white lotus, Japanese version. I know she's a saint an all but really, that personality drives me nuts. I guess I'm just not good at reading stories with goody-goody MCs; I prefer my female MCs to be strong and independent and able to stand up for themselves. <<less

I quite like how this story had all the hallmarks of a harem, but hasn't chosen to go that route. A nice easygoing story to read on a chill day.

The MC is a bit too shy and maidenly to really be my favourite type, but I don't dislike her.

It's a light shoujo novel. Yet the romance is not very developed. And since it's light, the isekai background is vague, no politics, no scheme, no real danger or adventures. I don't find it very exciting.

Then what's in there? Researching about plants and cooking. But not the methodical, logical, developed kind of research. Just lightly mentioning the MC reading books about plants, looking for way to create new potions. There is a skill system like in a game, but it's barely used. It's a slice of life, with a focus... more>> on producing HP potions and only this kind of potions, and sometimes learning about other stuff in passing.

It has the vibe of an otome game, with many ikemen there and there. But in terms of romance it's lukewarm:
Spoiler

we barely got a date and an exchange of gift in V1, then nothing else but some occasional encounters with the main love interest and the MC being flustered because he is good looking *roll eyes*

[collapse]

Lastly, the MC is the typical Japanese polite modest workaholic shy person. Nothing new there. At first she seemed different but she falls in this pattern quite soon.

Looking back on the whole 3 volumes I read today and yesterday, almost nothing happened action wise. Every time a seemingly embryonic beginning of plot seems to be introduced, it leads nowhere.
Spoiler

MC takes intense dance lessons to prepare for balls and the social season where MC will be introduced to the noble society, dances once with the ML as a training, then balls are never ever mentioned again.

MC learns to enchant items, she gift one to ML, then enchantment stopped being mentioned.

Crown Prince makes serious blunders that could endanger his inheritance right, factions supporting the 2nd Prince are mentioned, then Crown Prince got grounded and the overall situation was never spoken of. Even though it's related to the whole stability of the kingdom.

[collapse]

All in all, I can't say it's a bad read, I just wanted to warn people not to have too high of an expectation, then you'll enjoy it if it's the kind of story you're looking for (a heroine going to a isekai / slice-of-life theme) <<less

One of my 5star rating (I rarely put 5star).

I fell in love first with the manga since it follows the novel very faithfully, so when I read the novel.... it's just magnified my love for this work.

A good world building, not too fast and not too ridiculous with the OP.

A slow romance.

A female protagonist with strong mentality.

An isekai protagonist that doesnt pour all her native (or should I say Japan) delicacy and insist them.

A very refreshing and easy read. There's no overt antagonists or any sort of angst so it flows very smoothly. The characters are nice and developed enough to not be one dimensional. Sei is a nice heroine who's OPness doesn't grate and is genuinely just trying to live a relatively simple life but has a good heart and a go-with-the-flow attitude that sometimes ruins her own plans lol. The romance is very cute and the fluff livens up the story.

Overall, a peaceful and enjoyable transmig novel that does very well... more>> within the established cliches. <<less

A refreshing one to read, story is pretty good, characters also pretty good except the MC. The MC is totally my ideal how a girl should be! If I have to say, so far the story indeed a bit slow and focused entirely on MC and her new environment, but I think this will be over soon because the Saint job is about cleaning miasma around the kingdom.

Like the earlier reviews have mentioned, it has an interesting premise as palette cleanser for other drama-heavy isekai romance series -- MC is an adult woman, overpowered, mildly allergic to politics & romance, and most importantly, has had the luck to be transmigrated to a kingdom with good people looking out for her and not trying to take advantage.

The only antagonist to speak of is the crown prince (who isn't actually malicious, just foolhardy & stubborn) who is done with by vol 2. The remaining volumes (it's up to vol... more>> 7 now on thatnovelcorner) are about worldbuilding, cooking and general slice of life description. It attempts to keep things interesting from volumes 5-7 by setting them in different countries. Expect no romantic progress. The exposition isn't particularly detailed; asRaestloz put it, it comes across as "I came, I brewed, I'm done" lmao.

I just came here to express my disbelief that the novel goes on for 5 volumes with slice-of-life exposition. It's not a bad thing per se, just calibrate your expectations accordingly (I was hoping for actual Sei/Albert... I guess it's true to life in that respect lol - imagine two friends who are clearly interested in each other but never actually get around to confessing / declaring coupledom. Presumably because they've got the companionship aspect down without actual need of the confession/declaration. I don't think I've actually seen this sort of pairing portrayed in LN, so uh that's another thing this series has going for it I guess. <<less

Good enough, just not great

The one twist this novel provides is an actually good reason for the usual "girl took all the good sons from their fiancee" schtick. That's it, that's the whole thing

The rest of it is a generic "well now that I'm here might as well create miracles". She starts out amazing from the get go, the only thing she lacks is proper understanding of how her power works. Just as many other novels, there is a RPG stat system that allows her powers to be "quantified" so... more>> to speak which is disappointing because they never did. The stats work less like actual stats and more like milestones so nothing came out of that

The romance exists but progress is very slow if at all. While this is "slice of life" the setting puts a very weird dynamic: they resorted to summoning her due to the dire state of the kingdom, but they're clearly not in a rush to do much about it because despite the dire situation, the king himself or the prime minister refused to have anything to do with the summoning.

You'd think that if you're in such desperation that you resort to summoning foreign powers - especially something that everyone understood would be incredibly precious - someone up high would be present to properly explain the problem. After all, this isn't something that you want to have misunderstandings about. What if some idiot made a bad impression and the foreign power decide to destroy you instead?

That is, in fact, what had happened, and the officials actively refused to do something about it by using various excuses like "nobody bothered to report to the king" or "they went with wait and see approach". Worse, despite the critical importance of a Saint (someone that only appears as a last resort) the world destroyed all records of Saint's powers, so that every Saint has to independently learn how to awaken her powers and how to use it from scratch, with the excuse of "it's a classified state secret that nobody can know". Even the FBI and CIA kept embarassing state secrets because they know the importance of learning from experience

After the s*upid worldbuilding, comes the slice of life where heroine happily spends her life doing whatever she liked and meets the hero. This is all well and good except, y'know the whole "we've reached the point where we really need a saint" thing. The outside world clearly have no problems whatsoever that they can't deal with and instead of helping out the potential Saints figure out what they need to do, they decided to ignore one and focus on the other, it's pretty awkward

Finally the heroine's growth is really lackluster. She starts out with amazingly high "base stats" which means she's stronger than others and grows her skills faster than others. The problem here is that by using skill levels as a hard milestone, that you can't brew a potion even if you have the correct ingredients and correct procedures unless you reach the required skill level milestone, the heroine cannot grow. She cannot spend her days learning how to brew a high end potion because she's literally unable to produce the result, and one day she simply can. That's it.

The research part is also awkward. Her peers never produced any research, she did it by herself. The "research" is also not actual research: she simply put in a few herbs known on Earth for vague benefits, boil them, put in magic, and out comes a useful product. There was no explanation as to why this can happen, only that it does

There are so many opportunities for problems in research that can be used: maybe they're about to breakthrough but the beakers aren't strong enough, maybe they need a different reagent, maybe they need different proportions. Regardless, the research is skipped over by going "I came, I brewed, I'm done"

Her other aspects such as enchanting and wielding holy magic also suffers from the same problem. Despite the realization that a Saint may need to be trained in this world's laws of magic, the royalty never thought of doing that for the heroine, she had to actively ask for it herself, her progress skipped over with "today heroine learned magic from teacher, weeks passed and she got better at it". Not that I need lengthy exposition for worldbuilding, but having it skipped over is too much

This continues for the rest of the story. Something happened, they skipped over the research, and she solved it. As the story progresses the author started putting more emphasis on cooking, which as you may expect gets a LOT of exposition. The lengthy details of her cooking across 6 volumes defeats the entire worldbuilding and romance and research exposition combined. While the author skipped over research by glossing over the plants like "We tried a few rare herbs", the cooking part gets very detailed like "this is miso diluted in water, this one is miso diluted in stock made from simmering fish". It's disappointing that instead of going with "oh so miso exists but they call it sauerpast" or whatever sort of foreign name, the author went straight with using the name miso, rice, everything. The only difference is the country name

This removes all sorts of potential adventure like identifying a product or attempting to recreate it with different ingredients

At the end of the day, 3 stars. Perhaps even 2.5. It's not great by any means, it started out good but lost its luster very quickly <<less

It’s a very fun and lighthearted read, good for relaxing and cheering up.
I was worried at first because I thought it would be like most “wrong Hero/Saint” type themes, but I’m glad that it’s not like the usual, where the other “Hero/Saint/Summoned” became the antagonist or obstacle to the MC.

Be warned though that the romance is super slow, you might even question if there’s romance at all. Seriously, at the middle of the fifth volume and still nothing has happened between the assumed main CP.

I like that in this... more>> story though....

The manga adaptation is pretty good too but I’d prefer it as an anime if we’re talking about adaptations (is there an anime of this and I didn’t know?). <<less

This is an interesting novel to read. The MC isn't like any other novel I ever read. I love how the story evolves and enjoy how the MC spends her time in the story. Overall its 5 stars from me. I hop there will be more of this in the near future.

About as interesting as wet toast. There is no spice in it at all, ironic since it's also one of those novels with the plot of "this other world's cuisine has no flavor so I'm going to save them with spices even though realistically they probably wouldn't really like that." Hilariously, some Japanese reviews call this the female "Kenja no Mago."

TLDR: This is a slice of life shojo isekai with an OP MC and basically no conflict. If you like that kind of thing go ahead.

People say MC is strong... more>> and refreshing since she is an adult woman who isn't like those other shojo isekais where the MC are pure hardworking young girls. I say she is exactly like those MCs, just aged up. She might be "strong" for easily adapting and not going along with every single thing (she is pretty passive, and you could argue she is just as overworked in this world as she is in her old world, just without the physical and mental consequences), but I say that's just the author not wanting to deal with writing realistic emotions and just wanting to get to the OP and "romance" parts. (Seriously there's one scene where she's just like "yeah I kinda miss my family and old world but I get used to things quickly so *shrugs*") Really reads like the author just put that in so no one would comment about it.

As for the romance, do not expect anything. There's no chemistry or significant development, just the LI being a typical knight and the MC getting flustered over everything, which gets old fast. They don't have any conversations where they try to get to know each other and the LI is the most blank slate guy I've ever read. His only role is to be the hot guy who is protective of MC and there's no mention about his history, hobbies, anything that would make him feel like an actual person. He has an older brother in an important position but we never see them interact. Every afterword would have the author blaming MC's inexperience for the slowness of the romance but I think the author just has no idea how to write this romance because there's nothing to really build off of. This might change in later volumes but I wouldn't hold my breath.

Worldbuilding? Non-existent. Really feels like the kingdom is just composed of castle, laboratory, one city, and everything else is covered in fog until the author decides the plot needs them to go to a new place. Very video game like (don't get me started on the shoehorned in video game mechanics). No sense of danger even though they are supposedly in a crisis. Everything is just made to support MC being OP.

Other character interactions? Don't even bother. Almost everyone interacts with MC in the same bland way and have the same blandly nice personalities. It's nice that MC also has some positive female friendships but the female characters don't show up much. It's fine to have no plot in a slice of life but the characters have to make up for that. The crown prince who is the only character with some personality gets pushed out of the plot quick (I think even he got neutered in the spinoff manga?).

There is no plot. This is a slice of life after all. There is a small arc in the beginning but everything after that is pretty episodic. Combine this with boring characters and world and you have a real snoozer on your hands,

Only saving grace of this whole series is Yuri tbh. He is the only character I look forward to reading about and he is way too good for this series. Please get a spinoff and ditch these losers. <<less

The best point of this LN? Its simplicity. I love the light theme in here, its good for a refreshment from other isekai with heavier theme.

I like the MC and the male lead, and MC's relationship with the other summoned girl in here. MC can be quite OP, but she's very down to earth.

For some maybe its slow paced, but I really enjoy reading it till the last chapter. It gives me this relaxing vibe when reading this ?

If you love isekai that have heavier plot, more political issues, or... more>> even noticable romance progress, I think maybe this LN is not your cup of tea. <<less

Just like what most people say, this novel is truly refreshing. It's simple but compelling, a great change of pace from the usual isekai and shoujo genre. Yes there's a lot of signs throughout the story that makes it seem like a reverse harem, and sure nothing super grave actually happens (so far) but its a really nice read and it shouldn't be overlooked.

It's a bit slow in the action at times - but I really like the story. Sei, the main female lead, is a nerd (fellow nerds, rejoice!) who is an office worker turned pharmacist/researcher. I appreciate how, though slightly OP in MP, she works hard and treats people genuinely. It is amusing to read the side stories from the other characters POV because although her actions seem rather normal it is fun to read from a "native" person's POV. Overall, a nice relaxing read of her everyday life and a... more>> wonderful break from the wuxia that I have been reading lately with its blood and betrayal. <<less

Maybe I've read so much Isekai novels.. I really liked this but the feeling is somehow too lighthearted for my standard. I mean, if I were the MC I definitely would've held a grudge about being summoned and ignored afterwards. Suddenly being in different world with all these monsters and magic stuff going on will definitely overwhelm me and if I'm left confused with everything I might just break down. The MC's strong in that aspect, that or my personality's just terrible. Anw, even though the MC said she wants... more>> to live a normal life, I guess secretly monitoring her is kinda... wrong? Also, they've been giving her a lot of work. Her magic is inexhaustible, I give you that but is she a factory or something? She doesn't complain at, all. Well she's a saint, indeed. I was little bit, just a tiny bit, irritated about the fact that she just accepts everything. I really feel bad while reading this rn. But since it stirs my feelings quite a bit, I think this novel is actually good. The romance is there, too. I find it quite likable.. I'm looking forward to the next chapters. <<less

It's a pretty good story to waste your time on. Admittedly not everyone might appreciate the MC since she's quite OP for an unknown reason and she's also dense when it comes to romance though she blushes a lot in the presence of the ML. The story is similar to your typical Isekai wherein in you have an OP MC from the modern world making major changes to their world and stealing everyone's heart.

A part that pleasantly surprised me is at least in this novel she gets along with the... more>> female student who was also isekaid. They don't have any sort of jealousy or hatred between them, instead, you could even call them friends.

If you are not into a slice of life, romance, and the typical isekai cliché then this is probably not for you. <<less

A very slice of life read. (I've read both the web novel and light novel version)

There's nothing much going on except MC working on potions or something. The MC is a typical workaholic polite Japanese woman and so she feels flat sometimes.

The romance is also super slow. Like really slow.

Well it is a nice read to get rid of boredom. Nothing much special.

So far the fluffy mush sets my heart aflutter with its cuteness and not pitting women against each other. The protag is sweet but honestly overly naive for a person over 25. She acts as if she has never had a crush before let alone love. It was really adorable but the denial makes me want to pinch her face and ask if she isn't the high school girl. Don't get me wrong I really love the story so far, but I can only hope the slow burn doesn't take... more>> another 4 volumes. <<less
