I've been a fan of the comic adaptation for a while, but since bilibili English got shut down I haven't been able to find a good English translation of it, so I'm very glad to see dobytranslations pick up the novel. It's a silly work, full of le*dness, antics, misunderstandings, and powers of ridiculous scale. It also a has a layer of mystery, and unraveling the secrets within as the story progresses helps keep it interesting.

This is the kind of novel that's to be enjoyed by turning your brain off. There's no need to use critical thinking; don't expect to find something meaningful, or look for a masterfully written piece of work. It's really not.

The summary is slightly misleading, because it turns out that the MC is even more OP than the rumors say, she just hasn't realized it herself yet. That's fine, but I'm honestly a bit disappointed since I was looking forward to seeing an actually weak MC beat everyone with trickery and... more>> deception rather than brute strength.

I want to emphasize: the power scaling is truly insane. Never believe the novel when it tells you somethingsomething is the most powerful, terrifying, unbeatable monarch-empress-calamity-lord whatever. If it introduces the SSS+++ rank in one chapter, then the next SSS++++ is arriving in 10 chapters. This is another one of those features that you should turn your brain off for.

The only thing I'm unsure of is whether this becomes before or after it's sister work, "I'm surrounded by my own pets". Either way, they have the exact same style and power scaling progression. The MCs also have quite a few things in common, particularly the utterly strange features they possess (teardrop eyes vs starry eyes, etc) that other characters seem to take for granted, which end up being revealed to be important later on. There honestly isn't much of a difference between these two novels. Maybe the only thing is that this MC has a colder, more indifferent personality...?

I give it 5 stars because in terms of a junk food novel, it's pretty good junk food. Same goes for its sister novel. If you like this one, you'll like the other one. <<less

It's a good braindead read.

It's mostly a comedic novel with lots of action. The story is pretty "eh", but it's just engaging enough.

The world is fleshed out enough.

... more>> The strong point of the novel is alot of the goofballness that goes around. There's alot of really weird goofball characters (yay!) and it's mostly for those that I ended up getting absorbed by the novel.

The MC herself start out weak, there is a reason for it. However she grows in strength over time. She has a ton of plotarmor, but the good part is that the novel uses it as part of her character and strength rather than a story breaking tool if that makes sense.

There's also a manga adaptation, but it's pretty blegh. Looked like a low budget cash grab which got kiddy proofed and stereotyped killing the uniqueness of the characters from the novel.

I do recommend reading the novel if you can get past it's light ecchi tones. I quite enjoyed it atleast. <<less

I remember reading the manhua around hundred chapters (raw) but not the novel.

If I remember correctly the story leans on "misunderstanding" troupe, where MC the saintess is just a weakling who has weakling beast, but due to her appearance and demeanor (know for her teardrop beautymark that makes her looks solemn and mysterious) and some misunderstanding everyone loves her and thinks she is powerful, and rumors keep escalating but bruh just want to live lol

she is really becoming what they are expecting her to be (or just another false rumor? :&Gt;), buy it will be later after series of misunderstanding, there are lot of love interest here. I enjoy the manhua it's full of funny misunderstand and Yuri romance
