The ruthless Emperor Alexei was abandoned as a child in a forest of magical beasts. There he was picked up by a human woman who looked like a monster. The woman took care of Alexei, raised him, and together they lived happily.

However three years later, when Alexei is brought back as a prince, the woman was killed by the knights.

The prince grows up in despair and then spends the rest of his life fighting in battle before he was crowned as an emperor.

Meanwhile, the woman, who was called a monster, was reborn and meets the emperor as a Duke’s Daughter.

A short, fluffy read! Cinderella-esque with a touch of rebirth :> Wish it was longer but somehow it also feels like the right length. MC is a bit ditzy and ML is possessive af which is often a one-way ticket to R-18 land but I'm glad the author kept it sweet lolol

I'm reading ahead in the Japanese original using Google translate. I prefer this over the usual otome game plot. Here, it's all about waiting for the main characters to realize they already know each other, and for them to get together.

'Pie' had a skin condition which made her look like a forest witch or a human frog. Alexei was taken in by her as a young boy, when he was escaping death. He never told her his real name. When knights appeared to take back Alexei they also killed 'Pie', thinking she was a monster. Alexei was heartbroken.

Later, 'Pie' reincarnated as the beautiful duke's daughter Eleonora. She meets Alexei again at a ball, all Cinderella-esque.

The point is, it takes several chapters for the ball to start, and the hype is real. Then you have to wait for them to recognize each other.

It's very good. Short but well written and very well translated.

Characters are well rounded. And the conclusion is absolutely lovely.

10/10 will recommended to my friends and will definitely come back to reread

Really short story but the amount of sugar in it is extremely high.

This is no masterpiece as it is written pretty plainly and the translation doesn't help either. (Not at the level of a MTL but lots of issues in it)

But since it's so short and condensed you really get a lot.

... more>> This is perfect if you finished something really sad or you are in low spirit.

No comedy, no action, no smut, no drawn out drama, only short sol with fast romance at the end.

There's a manga version that follow 1:1 the novel so you can read the manga if you want to see the novel in image. <<less

Love this novel. It is a cute one.

The ending is a little rush and I still have some questions. But overall, I like it a lot.

This is a classic, cute, fantasy, fairy tail story with a twist.

I hope they finish translating this as only 3 chapters left.

It's a very cute story of our innocent children who meet the forest after being thrown away. They journey afterwards is how the meet and love again

Story is cliche. I came here from the manga cause it has a cute artstyle and since it's a short novel I decided to read it.

Overall it's a simple story and the plot is clear from the beginning. It's a decent time pass read.

Like objectively speaking it's very cliche. I don't consider cliche = bad, but overall this wasn't a masterpiece kind of story

I enjoyed it anyways that's how I rate this anyway. Story/plot wise it's not overly creative because like I said, it's cliche. I'll put a spoiler tag for the cliches later. Would've given it a 4/5 if the romance wasn't so scuffed. It literally felt like Cinderella 2.0 because of how fast everything happened. Yea sure separated for a few years,... more>> but wtf that was too fast and aggressive.

I can go on all day but the scuffed romance only lasted 2-3 chapters (basically chapter 34-37, maybe) I stopped immediately after chapter 34 so

the cliches lmao

  • Very pretty fl, she's basically cinderalla except she lives alone. No wait, she has every traits of a cliche disney princess.
  • There's the trope where everyone falls for her due to some kind of misunderstanding. And fall can either mean love platonically or worshipping love.

Basically she was written to be very, extremely lovable and kind that it makes those that hate her be the bad guy <<less
