I feel like I've missed something, but somehow I never thought the ex was THAT evil towards the MC. Sure, he was not an angel or pure kind soul by any means, but he also didn't directly kill the MC. At most he was indifferent, uncaring and ungrateful, and used our MC's love for his own gain - he was a bad person, but not evil evil, you know - the kind that are super maliciously evil. That made it more difficult for me to understand the writing of the author which framed him a bit as the "ultimate evil enemy" that needed to be defeated. At the very very end, he also redeems himself somewhat which made it harder to hate him thoroughly and feel satisfied by his ending. IMO, the sister who on her own cruelly killed MC in the most degrading and inhumane way possible deserved a bit more of a struggle, but she was wiped out pretty quickly early on (and with ease).

At one point, Jiang Ruan's sister Jiang Dan is killed by being crushed (iirc) to death with stone after she tried to scheme against Jiang Ruan but had the situation turned on her for committing 'in*est' (she was a concubine of the Emperor) and for 'getting pregnant' by the Fourth Prince (iirc). (She actually wasn't pregnant). She was sentenced to die by stone. Jiang Ruan came and described directly to Jiang Dan what would happen to her, and then watched as this entire thing happened. It's described as being a sight so gruesome even hardened guards ended up getting sick by it, but Jiang Ruan just calmly watched it like nothing was going on. She then has her sister skinned, and has that skin sent to her biological father, Jiang Quan, who was sitting in prison, to affect his mental health.

the male lead stood up for the villain. B*tch HUH???? My mans xie jing xing would NEVER even have the thought of doing such a thing. And the 2nd ML is a p*ssy with no balls ???

I really enjoyed the fact that he guessed she had been reborn, but didn't want to push her to tell her secrets. He understood it was a barrier between them, but instead of confronting her about it, he decides to wait patiently for the day she opens up to him. It really shows the love and respect he has for her. When JR finally does tell him, it makes it all the more meaningful! You can really see how she has chosen to accept him and his love in this life and how much she has come to trust him.

she was not only NOT loved by her family but used by her father as a stepping stone to her shu sister's path. She was turned into a human swine!!!

She dragged a bunch of guys who tried to assassinate her to him and basically said since they have already seen you, you might as well help me kill them too, which he did btw LOL. Second time they met, he wanted something she found, ans she just chucked it at him and basically said "here take it" and then proceeds to tell him all about where he can find more weaknesses of a certain someone (that she also treats as an enemy)

All through the novel she is shown as a very smart person and who can plan everything carefully. But the last arc planning was really s*upid. She sets up herself as a bait and gets kidnapped voluntarily. I felt this was really s*upid. Even if she knew that they wont harm her, it felt really s*upid to me as you never know what could go wrong. She doesn't even discuss this with her brother or husband. And she gets to know she is pregnant when she is kidnapped and she has to keep her baby safe too. (Face palm) Where did the super cool FL as she was in the beginning go? She will be gone for 8 to 9 months and the ML and her brother will be searching for her like crazy. They get news that the FL was burnt down in a house, but the ML never gives up and keeps searching for her. It feels really bad to see them suffer. She was not safe, nor her baby. Her whole planning was off. There were a lot of different things she could have done to take them down, this move was really s*upid.

All were f*cked up and they got what they deserved. She never kills anyone by hand. Some kill themselves while some people their own family for benefits. Her mother will be poisoned and killed so she will raise this in the court and gets her father convicted too.

FL stepmother - She tries to frame the FL as a cursed fate and send her to a far away village again. But the FL will of course play her. They will find some other guys clothes in her room and she would make it look like she is having an affair. She will be locked up in a shed and later sent to a far off place where she will receive even worse treatment then what the FL received in the beginning and her own son will kill her as she is a stumbling block to his career.

FL second stepsister - The main villain. Some of her schemes fire back and all her glory comes down. Later she also starts practicing some kind of art to keep her beauty so she will be drinking blood and other gross stuff. Later will be r*ped by some bandits and when she is found, her brother will kill her for the same reason as his mother, for his career.

FL second brother - selfish jerk. Kills his own mother and sister. He was caught up in a case and beheaded.

FL third stepsister - very annoying. She hates the FL because she is beautiful and wants to stand above her. She gets married but her life will be hard as one of her plan backfires and she commits su*cide.

FL fourth stepsister - I really hate her. She behaves as a very timid girl in front of everyone while she will be the most scheming one. She will be brought up by the mother of the FL but she will poison her and the FL when she was still a kid. Ungrateful. Later she enters the palace as concubine and schemes a lot against the FL. Later gets caught having affair with a prince and is killed. Her death is bloody.

FL grandmother - I dont like her. She doesn't hurt the FL but she doesn't protect her either. She will know everything as to how her mother was killed and all schemes of the FL stepmother but she doesn't nothing to stop her. But when the FL and her brother keep getting higher status she asks them to take of her sisters and brothers. I really hated that. They have hurt and tried to kill them so many times, how can she say that to them? She will be killed by her own servant as part of a scheme to frame the FL.

FL father - best punishment for him to see his whole family dying one by one. I really dont understand him. He will be hating the mother of FL. This I can accept as the mother falls in love with him and marries him and he wont be able to oppose as she comes from a higher family. Her mother was wrong in this. He will hate her and her children very much. That is why no matter what the FL and her brother becomes and it may bring glory to his family, he will never like them. Hating her mother I can accept. But hurting the innocent children doesn't make any sense. Anyways he is convicted and later beheaded.

Concubine of FL father - She will be from a brothel and she helps the FL in the beginning and the FL also helps her. Later she betrays the FL and it backfires her. She kills herself in the end.

She will save him in this life. Their relation will be strong and he will also become a super cool general in the end. He also falls in love with a friend of the FL. She would have gone to the enemy camp to free him when he will be captured by the enemies. She will do that to pay him back as he would have saved her life once. She will be from a military family and she is pretty cool too.

The eighth prince who used her in the last life. For me, this guy was not the most villainous character, for me the most vile was the FL sister. What she did to the FL in the last life is really scary. I felt she should have suffered some more. I was not happy with the ending of the 8th prince. He will actually remember everything in the end and die while saving the children of the FL. The whole novel is about the FL trying to bring him down and the his ending was a little bland for me.

The princess of the enemy country. Wow.. She was a totally f*cked up person living in her own world. If it were in our current world, she would definitely be locked up in a hospital and never let out for the safety of others. How many she would have killed in the name of the love is crazy. And worst part is that its all in her head, the person she loves never loves her back. So she destroys him, his wife and she will want to kill their son too. She wont know who he is as his identity will be unknown hence she will be living by another identity in the capital. As you can guess, the child is the ML. She would have waited all these years to kill him and then later tries to kill his twin children and that is when the 8th prince comes and saves them and die in their stead. She will kill herself in the end.

The saint of the enemy kingdom. She is crazy too. She will be in love with the ML and of course he wont like her so she will want to destroy him and she is very cunning and cruel and kills a lot of people too. She is the one who captures the brother of the FL and torture him. She tries to destroy the relation between the FL and ML after they are married and they get to know and scheme her back. She is later killed by the 8th prince. She died too easy. She should have suffered, she kills a lot of people.

This will be the stepson of the FL in the last life. Xuan Pier. He will be thirteenth prince and will be totally ignored in the palace and in her last life the emperor would have left him in her care as they both wont have anyone and she will love him like a mother. They will r*pe and kill him in front of the FL in her last life. In this life, she supports him and becomes the king in the end. He will be reborn too and have memories of their previous life. He will still call her as mother in their current life.

All princes except the crown prince die and the emperor also dies. The crown prince will be hurt badly so even though his life will saved, he wont have the right for throne. This was good because I kind of liked him. He was not a scheming person, he character was not good for a emperor, but I felt he was a good person. I am glad that he lived at the end.

She will save her brother and they will be close. She will also save the family of the FL mothers family. They will be from a military generals family. They accept her and she gets their support too. The son of the FL of last life becomes the king as I have explained in the spoilers above and he will also be supporting her and her family. In the end, they also have a pair of twins, a boy and a girl.

1. A maid of the FL who will have grown up with her and very close to the FL will be a traitor and she is the one who poisons the FL.
2. the crazy queen of the enemy country will be hiding her identity and living in the capital as a concubine of the FL father. She will be the most unfavoured concubine in her own FL house.

The ML will be the son of the previous king. The current emperor will be his uncle. The father of the ML will be in love with the ML mother so they get married and have a son. Later he will become the king, When the enemy country attacks, they propose a marriage alliance. But the MLs father will reject it. But everyone convinces him in the end. But when the queen comes she will fall in love with him and state that she doesn't want any other women next to him, so that it will be only her. Her character will be f*cked up and the MLs father will hate her and rejects her. She comes to know that the MLs father loves his wife. She kills the mother and tries to kill the child too. The MLs father cant take it anymore so he goes to war with their country and he takes his son along with him. The story told outside will be that the king and his son were killed. But only the king would have died and the son would be saved and he is raised secretly in the capital. The duke will be friends with MLs

father and mother so he will agree to raise the ML as their son. The kings brother becomes the king and he also protects his identity.

The king will be liking his brother very much so he will like his son too. The ML will be very talented too so he will want him to succeed him as the next king, but the ML wont be interested. The king tries to force him in a lot of things and imposes his ideals on him. I dont like him. He will not want the ML to marry the FL also. But the ML never wavers and always sticks to his decision and stands by her. The king while dying also will leave a imperial edict saying the ML should become the king. But FL and ML will steal the imperial edict and destroy it and forge another one saying the 13th prince will be the king.

when he helped that Susu b*tch on that green jade thingy because his guard told him she (that b*tch) must've been his savior (which was not ofc it was FL and he immediately doubted that Susu was his savior after helping her since her eyes didn't seem like the ones in his memory)
