I started reading this because I thought the MC was the Gong but I finished 2 arcs, there were no bed scenes but it gave me the impression that the MC is the Shou not the Gong.

First Arc: The Weak and Sickly White Moonlight of the Wealthy Male Protagonist

Spoiler

Orig MC's mother married into the ML's family and they became step brothers, ML fell in love. MC was sickly as a child and Orig Shou was to be the blood bank of the MC.

[collapse]

Second Arc: The Weak and Sickly White Moonlight of the Merman Male Protagonist

Spoiler

Orig Shou was saved by the ML as a child. Orig MC was a "friend" and doted on by Orig Shou, he heard about this and asked the Orig Shou to give him the Scale which was given to by the ML. Orig MC pretended to be the one who was saved and assumed this role, ML fell in love.

[collapse]

Spoiler

There are more arcs but in these two, there wasn't a closure between the MC and ML. MC died in the two arcs and ML find ways to reason the past actions of the MC (he knows the scheming calculations of the MC) and also ends up blaming himself and dies, 1st Arc is after 3 years because of illness and 2nd Arc is after the funeral because he shot himself.

[collapse]

Other Arcs I haven't read yet:

Third Arc: The Weak and Sickly White Moonlight of the God of War Male Protagonist

Fourth Arc: The Weak and Sickly White Moonlight of the Apocalyptic Male Protagonist

Fifth Arc: The Weak and Sickly White Moonlight of the Alpha Male Protagonist

I don't recommend this to those who looks for closure and HE after every Arc.

Still a nice read for those who enjoy Angst.

It's still updating btw🙂 <<less

I have managed to read two first arcs. The mtl was hard but still manageable to be understood.

The third arc is a complete mess in mtl. Even using deepl - complete gibberish.

It is hard to review - but I clearly didn't get the arcs meaning - MC is playing a complete scum from beginning till the end. And there is no misunderstanding there - he is, indeed, a scummiest green tea bitc* out there.

And... Somehow ML still blinded by him and falling in love? I can't find the route of... more>> his affection.

Moreover, there is no retribution or clarification or reversal or something at the end of each arc : MC begins as a scum and dies as a scum. What is the meaning of all this arcs? I don't know. <<less

Actually, I anticipated alot for this novel after reading preview. Because, most of QT novels are MC was trasmigating as protagonist or cannon fodder. Its really rare such a novel, trasmigrating as white moonlight.

But it really disappoints me. MC enthusiastically follow the story line up to the point he is really, trully a green tea b*tch. He did nothing out of his story line, no love nor any feeling to ML. Whats the point of writing novel? LOL

I tolerated up to arc 3 with hope that it will change somehow.... more>> Now, I drpped finally. <<less

Lol, I didn't realise that it was translated and started to MTL it. Good thing, bc now I can share what I think about it.

This novel has 2 problems: MC and ML.

Lets start with ML. He is not likeable. He is moody and prone to anger. There are several scenes in this novel where people are afraid of him hurting them, and with a good reason! Like, he will be at his home, tr*shing in anger his dining room, and maid was standing right there (can't leave wo permission) terrified... more>> and praying that he would not take his anger on her. Other scenes are him taking his assistant to wait on him while he "unwinds". Like, he was playing tennis in the middle of the night while the assistant was just standing there not allowed to go to sleep in the middle of the work week. ML needs anger management therapy stat.

You know that saying "how a person treats a waiter show their character"? He treats them as furniture at best and as sh*t at worst.

About MC. I have no idea what he is like. He treats every one as a part of a task and never mentions his true feelings. "Oh, I have to stab ML in the back? I like a true villain, tehe". As far as I can see he has zero investment or interest in what is going on.

The plot is a really dog blood drama with MC behaving like a true scum, though there were some hints that it is not as simple as that. If the characters were even a slightest bit likeable it would've been fun, but as it is, it's frustrating. <<less

i looove stories with tragic endings like this one. Yes, there were no closures for every arc. If u're looking for novels with angst, then this one is a good read.

i can say that the MC held no attachment for the ml's in the worlds he played. He's just really acting on what the system asks him to. Poor MLs :<<< All the ML's had regrets in the end.

i cried buckets every time the MC dies.

What I also love about this novel is, the arcs doesn't end the moment MC... more>> dies, there are still a couple of chapters for the ML and other characters' reaction towards the mc's death, basically, it tells what happens after mc's death. Yes, those chapters made me cry.

This is still ongoing tho, c132 is the latest as of now, currently on the 4th arc.

The MTL is understandable! Its an easy read. <<less

This novel is -almost- my (shameful) jam. A QT in which the MC starts out the villain and dies a righteous villain death at the end of each of arc. But the plot derails somewhere along the line and the protag falls in love with MC and angst and regret follows his death.

The big problem here is that for this formula to work, MC needs to be whitewashed in the end and it needs to turn out he wasn't scum, he was just misunderstood. In this novel he doesn't, he... more>> follows the villain script and there's no denying his complete scumminess from beginning to end.

Sure they try to explain why he's scummy and the other characters react as if he'd been whitewashed but it really isn't sufficient and so it just comes over like a bunch of suckers that got emotionally manipulated by scum and is still suffering from Stockholme Syndrome afterward. And as a result the angst and regret just isn't satisfying.

Maybe it would've worked better if the arcs were shorter. Either way, Im sad. <<less

To be honest, I really want to give this novel a bad review at first.

1. Because the seme is a scum.

He's so indecisive and it took too long for him to recognise the ML

... more>> He is definitely the most terrible MC that I've ever encountered.

2. The ML is a love brain but self-deceiving. In the first world, he was treated as a dog, but he still managed to come up with an excuse for the gong's behavior.

In the second world, not only was he treated as a monster, he was only a medicine man!

He can see his lover had many lovers while they were together, but (again) whitewashed him after his death.

Same goes to the other chapters, he lied, he cheated, and he manipulated those who loved him, but he was still whitewashed anyway. Let's jump to the latest arc which is still ongoing. It's an ABO world, and he transmigrated into an omega. Unfortunately, it's so disturbing because the gong actually pretended to be pregnant!!! And even aborted the fake child inside his stomach in front of those who genuinely cares about the fake fetus. Of course, abortion is a personal choice but the point is, the baby was fake.

He didn't even think about what the ML would think once the fake baby was aborted. What he only thought was "Thank god, I finally got rid of that fake baby. That fake pregnancy really ruined my Peerless Gong attribute."

He also couldn't stop going about how he spent 100 million to maintain his fake pregnancy. I'm still in the process of forgetting that disturbing part. I don't have any problem with weak gongs, because I actually love weak sand sculpture gongs. But why is Chu Yu so heartless? He's even worse than other scum husbands in many novels.

He's manipulative, cold-blooded, and he only cares about his goal. However, I stalked the novel in jjwxc because I was reading the pirated version (It lacked 1 chapter, which is chapter 142, unfortunately it's VIP chapter and I have to pay). And fortunately, I did that.

I actually don't hate the novel at all, because I also love dog blod dramas. I was just worried that the ending of the novel might be tragic. But based on the author's works, her novels all ended happily. So, it gives me hope that this novel might be satisfying in the end.

I also hope there's a complete reversal in the end. I want the MC to suffer first before reconciling with the ML. <<less

I don't think this novel is for everyone. I can say that it was fun to read and if you are a person who's so sensitive then this story is not for you.

Spoiler

I like when the host because he is not attached to each world. I can say that this host is one of the best. I can't say that he is a kind person and I can't say that the host's personality is likable... however, I can say he is a professional worker who won't let their emotions affect their work. But no matter how good they do the work, it doesn't seem to give them a satisfying result.

I can relate to that when boiling eggs. I want a hard-boiled egg but don't seem to be able to get the result I want no matter how much I follow instructions. When I thought I did I pretty good job, by the time I crack the boiled egg open... It was always a failure.

Not everyone can relate to it...I guess

[collapse]

Spoiler

One thing I felt bad about is the mermaid. You might think he is cruel but at the very end, he didn't hurt anyone but was instead manipulated by the host and put his emotions on a roller coaster... welp, I can also say this to the first arc protag. As a first love, they can get too attached because first love is so precious and this is the time when people are only looking one way... this is the time that people can easily get blinded... especially those people who are very devoted. This is also the time when people easily get obsessed with someone toxic.

The push and pull method that the host is doing is one of the ways of making someone get obsessed with them.

It is sad because the protags weren't able to heal themselves from the toxicity of their first love. But anyway I think it was still a great novel.

It was fun analyzing toxic traits from these characters and comparing them to real life.

Maybe just a little, we will be able to understand why a person is not able to get out of a toxic relationship and why a person is so "blind".

[collapse]

Spoiler

One more thing, you will not be able to appreciate the story if you only think about "kindness", "love", "cuteness" etc.

This type of story is pretty new to me and it kinda hit me by surprise.

What I saw in this story is manipulation, toxicity, obsession, etc.

Why whitewashing? Nah, I didn't see that here. But trying to understand why they acted that way is one thing. However, understanding and approving are completely different things.

[collapse]

I hope when you read this novel you will not look at it as how you usually look at others novels and try to understand the personality traits of the characters and why they acted that way.

Spoiler

Toxic traits are present in everyone. They might be unintentional or intentional. You might be toxic who's pretending to be a holy person.

[collapse]

Welp, this is just my opinion and I was still able to finish 2 arcs. <<less
