The original host was a waste, the only thing worth seeing was that pretty face. Hmm, exactly like Yu Qing himself.

The original host, relying on a spiritual connection, caused trouble and incurred the disgust of the male lead and those around him. In the end, the male lead severed the connection and abandoned him in the zombie-infested city, leaving him to perish.

Yu Qing knew he couldn’t rely on the male lead, but he feared he wouldn’t survive the night on his own. Reluctantly, he could only follow in the footsteps of the original host.

Song Xinqi crossed his arms and raised an eyebrow at the uninvited Yu Qing. “What can you do?”

Yu Qing replied, “I can run when I see zombies, eat when I’m hungry, and with our spiritual connection, it’s easy for you to find me if I get lost.”

Song Xinqi smiled, his tone icy. “I hate useless people.”

“But if you leave me behind, I’ll die,” Yu Qing retorted.

It was well known that Song Xinqi, the strongest esper on the surface, despised useless people. Yet, he kept around a pretty vase that could only eat.

It was also well known that when Song Xinqi found a way to sever the connection, it would be the death of Yu Qing.

Until one day, during a transfer of the base, he realized in the chaos that a certain little waste was left behind in a city about to be overrun by zombies.

One more star for MC. He was cute and lovely. The story was ok, not too long, not boring, however there were few jumps in the story I couldnt quite catch, idk due to the writing or translation.

If I want to rate it, then it was really near bad or really bad.

There is no characters growth or development or whatever. The characters's personality is fixed with no ups and down, no matter what they see or encounter their reaction is fixed, there can't be any defferent not even a little. If I may say, both the MC and ML characters's is not likeable too.

The MC is letteraly is very lazy and super salted fish. It's the end of the world, but he want to throw his burden on others and just want to sat, eat, drink, sleep, breath, and do nothing at all. And he even blaim the ML if something happend, and will feel wronged evrytime and eveyday.

Seriously I get tired of him lying down and act as a spoild child all the time, and for your information, he won't get better at all, at contrary, others may think it's okay for someone who as beautiful as him to act like this and to be cover by others and for him to be of no use. Which it's not when they sees a woman do this!

You can just imagen, a man, a growen up man, all what he can do is to sat there, cry and act spoild to someone else, and he can't do anything at all. As he say, the only thing he can do is "to breath"!

As for the ML, what can be said about him? At first, his behavior was excusable, like he was trying hard to survive, but there is some man who stick to him as glow, won't leave him alone and won't try to help him when encounter Zombies, that man all waht he do is yall, cry, and lie down or sat to eat the food that should be feed to his mouth too.

But afterward, specialy after he "realized" that he fall in love with this "tr*sh" useless man, he become overcontroll, he won't allow the MC to talk or make friends with anyone at all.

Another thing happend and made me hate the ML, actualy it was the begninng when I really started to hate him.

When he decided that he want to make his own base, it was okay if he tried to make it from scratch as other protagonists in other novels. But he, as soon as he woke up from his "leveling up" he start to search for another new base, when he found it, he enterd and killd the base leader and everyone that can go against him, without saying a word.

Yes, as you read, he killd them all in "a half houre" -which the author used it to highlight the ML strength-.

Though that he later when he was going throw the documents of the base he "magically" found that the previous leader was not a good person, so he felt more proud that he killd him!

Bu no matter how the author tried to glosses and beautifying the ML behavior, it won't change the fact the he killd many people whom he doesn't know at all and met for the first time just because he want to stole their things.


And to make it wors, he actualy did the same as the late leader when manage the base, it just that he add more jobs inside the base, so some of those who were going to be expelled, were kept to work insed the base, thats all!

People rating this low because there’s “no character development” or “plot is bad”, , , , , , did we even read the same novel? I mean, the whole plot is already on the synopsis, it’s a 50-chapter novel about a newly-transmigrated person finding himself in a post-apocalyptic world, and his only hope of survival is what information he has about his original body’s relationship with the novel’s protagonist.

Look, he was chronically — maybe even terminally — ill in his original world. Some may think he’s “s*upid” or far too... more>> naive; but... did you even read the novel? He’s grateful he’s still alive, and all he wants is to live just a little longer in a healthier body than he did in his original life. I mean... honestly, if you think like the protagonist and wish that people like MC deserve to get their naivety stomped out of them, honestly, get some help. People deserve to be happy in their circumstances, no matter what they are.

Anyway, don’t let the low ratings deceive you; this is actually a pretty feel-good story. But if you’re more into the angsty, dog-blooded dystopian survival novel, this ain’t it. This is more of an exploration of innocence than it is the story of its erasure. Also, the translation is amazing. <<less

Be aware this novel has:

1. A tsundere, super possesive and controlling ML.

2. A good looking, 's*upid' with pure and innocent eye MC.

3. MC is 'weak', 'squeamish' and a depends on ML a lot. (From the start to the end)

4. Their type of relationship was to control and be controlled. Both are aware of that, no worries.

Anyway, it's quite short and fine to read once in a while to refresh your mindset, reminding you that not every main character has to be independent and strong.

i enjoy reading thisss. Not perfect but I like it. MC is not weak per se. He came from an environment where he’s always taken care of bc of his circumstances and I think his power was quite useful.

It's quite entertaining and cute, even though the writing is mediocre riddled with troupes, and everything is oversimplified.

However, it's still quite a cute and light read. I like MC's optimistic and cheerful but still practical character, and his growth is interesting. ML went all in on the controlling & possessive aspect, but the bonus chapter highlighted how even though that would be an unsuitable trait for many, it works well for them. And really that's what counts.

It's also not a fall-in-love-instantly type, thank goodness

Let me clear up one thing: ML is not violent towards MC but he is violent to others. There was one issue with MC in the beginning, after that, he just threw petty insults at MC to vent some of his irritation from this forced babysitting. The insults bounced off MC anyway so ML sneered and blew his AC until MC felt cold enough to look around and guess why ML was grumpy again. ML is violent to others, he doesn't hold back against animosity, and has a 'repays goodwill... more>> 10x, returns offense 100x'. Kinda like a black-bellied possessive tsundere dark character, his partner is his princess and everyone else are ants. Objectively, ML isn't a good person. His 'bud-nipping' behavior is cruel but beneficial for the apocalypse, he acts like a gangster hearing insults, and his romance is... I'll leave a spoiler here on the type of romance.

Yeah, that's basically it.

ML is mean, cold-hearted, and snuffs out his own love embers. He is confused by his growing emotions, wondering why everything about MC is bothering him.

Around midway, there was a big turning point in their relationship and ML started to look at MC in a new light. It wasn't so much 'that loser' but more 'my loser', the possessiveness generally wouldn't be a problem but ML was asserting dominance without clarifying the relationship... so he was a bully.

Anyway.

After hiding and denying his emotions, he never thought of changing their relationship. He anonymously treated MC well and ran around to ensure MC's safety, he even used the meal delivery man to probe MC's thoughts. But there was no way for MC to know ML's actions since ML maintains his 'you are unwanted' attitude. Honestly, ML is being such a pain in the ass. Even when giving MC benefits he still doesn't know his own heart, so he denies his feelings and keeps screwing up in front of MC with insults or jealousy.

Ah, I've ranted for a while. Here is the spoiler you came for.

MC and ML fought and started a cold war that killed any good feelings. MC was plotted against during this time and left to die a miserable death, a death chillingly similar to the original Yu Qing's death caused by ML... Who would believe this wasn't ML's doing, this was obviously his work. Even ML persuading MC through telepathy didn't work, so ML regretted that he left such a terrible impression on MC.

MC broke the mental link between them, unwilling to give ML the pleasure of dangling hope of rescue. ML went half-crazy in the zombie tide looking in every house for MC, regretting and in despair. It was a fun emotional scene, I was really sick of ML being satisfied with the current situation. This slap will wake him up and make him chase his wife... or so I thought, this damn blockheaded #*&$#%

(Tbh this kind of ML is like... MC is sacrificing himself to take this bully off the streets and into his home. This personality isn't attractive to me, ML has good parts but ultimately you should dodge this person.)

The novel was written well, so smoothly that I wondered why the author chose to write the main character as a vase. It seemed like a waste of talent to write this beautiful novel and throw in the classic cliche of 'weak beauty hangs on strong protagonist'. Thankfully MC got his own powers, and even though it seems silly at first, he becomes relatively useful after a few chapters. MC's personality plays a big role in providing optimism and relaxation, but ultimately- he is changing from a waste to a helpful character.

From the beginning, MC never caused trouble and did his best to stay out of ML's way, his presence was small but bright. He used his new superpower to make it easier to hang on ML and eventually, it was upgraded to become more helpful to the team. Ah. MC still has his salted fish temperament, if ML can do it then he'll lie down and accept it.

As we know, ML was unilaterally clung to by this vase-burden that he wishes to abandon immediately. Escaping from the first city together left such a bad impression on ML, he wants nothing to do with this useless person. When MC transmigrated in, ML inexplicably was less irritated by the sticky behavior that didn't seem as disgusting as before, he even had confusing moments due to his own change in attitude. After spending more time together, he even subconsciously accepted MC as his person and liked having someone depend on him... even though he won't show it and still insults MC.

Ah, it's not a spoiler but MC and ML are mentally linked. Therefore they have a bilateral connection sharing: pain, location, strong emotions... and as ML increases his powers the link gradually expands its sharing options. Their life and death are linked, so ML has to keep MC by his side until they are untied. This forced burden irks ML and he can't help but bully the little guy that, he feels, is trying to piss him off to death.

Song Xinqi (ML) : Mental system, can interfere with the minds of others leading them to a state of 'mind control', and can exert pressure remotely. He is exploring new abilities as the power is upgraded.

Entertaining but not perfect.

This novel has its weaknesses and could have more world building but it is still pretty entertaining.

MC is kind of a cinnamon roll. Cute and "naive" but also not. MC transmigrated into an Apocalypse novel. In his former live, he had to live in a hospital ward because of brittle bone syndrome. A stolper could brake his bones, so when he fell down the stairs, he died and transmigrated. So, although he became a cannon fodder character and was now stranded in an apocalyptic world with a... more>> really grumpy protagonist on his side and a possible horrible death in the future, he finally had a healthy body. And every day living is new and enjoyable.

I've read in another review how weak MC is and that he only wants to lie down. Well, in the beginning it kind of is true. MC is pretty self conscious and does know, that he is not able to survive. He has no knowledge of the outside world. He lived in a ward and was cared for 24/7. So it is indeed reasonable for him, that his goal is "not standing in the way and beeing a drag". Although in the latter chapters he is pulling his weight. MC gains an ability, which is increasing valuable.

ML is... well... controlling. He is always complaining about MC but also kind of lenient to him. It takes until almost the end of the novel for him to realize his own feelings and his tsundere kind of behavior is the reason for lots of misunderstandings. I feel that while he was cold and harsh during most of the story, the over controlling behavior only appeared after they got together/ stated "liking" each other. That kind of felt grating.

Though there are some issues, I did like the story and soul recommend reading it. It's not as detailed as other story's but it is also rather short. So it is OK. <<less

Yowwww for me it was a nice read. No super early preparation due to past memories. MC got transmigrated when the infection started. MC is such a positive ball of sunshine🥹. Slow burn romance with ML. Ml's such a lone wolf+, tsundere ishhh so give them time, I think they got officially togther 40-50ish ending of novel.

Due to their link and yeah MC clinginess at first [MC to save his life] there's like some wall in between them. Worry not! When it comes to facing feelings our MC is straightforward... more>> ehe ML too actually even at the start has a spoiling /preferences unique only for Mc

Novel was about their adventure in apocalypse and Base buildup.

MC has his own weakness and looks naive but he's not. He has his own view about how to live and how build relationships. They have their character growth and ML too at the end of the novel. ML deserves how he fought against the zombies to save MC ahahha well he's such a coward in facing his feelings. Good for ML that MC throws straight balls and wont back down to get to know his feelings.

4.5 round up to 5 stars, considering that its only 50+ chaps! The virus has been explained, characters developments + world buildup. HE^^ <<less

Note for the translators: it looks like the text of Ch42 was repeated twice (maybe three times?) in the chapter.

Aaaaaaa this novel is soooooooo Gooooood!!!

The Characters' Growth is Splendid. The Plot Absolutely Great. It's Absolutely Worth Reading!!!

We can't call ML Tsundere because he probably didn't know the meaning of his own feelings when he start to take care of MC genuinely.

... more>> While on MC's side, it make sense how he misunderstood ML's feelings. He probably thought he's not much different from the Previous YQ who shamelessly cling to ML. Except the part he's not Shameless and truly a Hardworking person.

MC's growth from weak to strong was really well written. He's somewhat mentally stronger than other because he truly treat his new life precious.

I Love how both MC and ML get stronger, but no one is OP. Though in a way ML is close to OP when he get upgraded.

Love how when the misunderstanding finally cleared, MC learn to translate ML's sharp mouth scolding. He learn to know that ML truly cared for him and all.

So it's not weird how they get together. And when they finally together together, ML is truuuuuly taking care of MC so preciously.

This was so good!

I really recommend it to anyone who likes novels with mentally strong but naive protagonist and possessive ML.

At first they will have a little trouble to understand each other because of they poor communication. But it will gradually improve.

I feel like the ML is first of all super violent and second has a lack of common sense. If you can feel even a bit of the pain of someone who can easily find where you are and is continuously saying that he's linked with you, don't just leave him to die, atleast be a bit wary that it might be true and check it when you have time.

Anyway I hate the ML as of now but I won't rate right now and will read more before rating. But... more>> I'm just providing by initial reaction. <<less

Hmm, I won't call this a masterpiece but it's pretty good for a short novel with 53 chapters.

Ignore the ignorant comments saying there is no character development, both MC and ML slowly changed for the better, although both of them are no 'ideal' protagonists, they're realists, and ML can even be considered a sort of tyrant.

1. About MC

MC is kind, but not naive nor s*upid, perhaps a bit dense when it comes to romance but otherwise, he is quite self-aware of his shortcomings and realistically (like any human being with... more>> proper self-preservation instincts) made a choice that will ensure his survival.

He does not show kindness indiscriminately, nor is he naively generous to just anybody but only to those he considers worthy like friends or ppl he believes has good character. He follows his instincts for identifying ppl with decent characters, and wisely stay away from ppl with ulterior motives.

Some ppl may call him spineless or cowardly but I simply call that knowing your own limits. The MC may have been heavily dependent on the ML at first but he at least tried his best to pull his own weight and when push comes to shove, he proved his worth by protecting the ML when he was vulnerable.

And later on when he thought that the ML will abandon him, he learned to be independent and even when they resolved the misunderstanding and knew that the ML will take care of him, he still insisted on completing task once he realized how much hardship everyone else at the base is going through (even if at the end he had to relent with doing task in safe zones coz the ML is an overprotective and controlling tsundere).

2. About ML

To be honest, I don't really like him at first, and even at the end, I suppose I only grudgingly accepted him coz the MC likes him so much. He's rude, violent, unreasonable and short-tempered, in other word, a tyrant. And his tsundere character caused quite a lot of trouble and misunderstandings between him and MC.

Not to mention his attitude to other ppl other than the MC... But he's not exactly an incompetent or unjust leader, just temperamental and a little unreasonable when it comes to the MC, otherwise, the base under him is thriving.

But when it comes to his initial relationship with MC his attitude is understandable for an apocalypse setting and I suppose for a strong ability user like him, having to bear with a weak tail following him around due to an accidental mental link, it could be quite frustrating. Note that I didn't call the MC useless coz shortly after they began their journey together, the ML noticed that MC's chattering could soothe his mental riot due to their link and fully utilized this accidental boon.

However, he did protect the MC to the best of his ability, and considering it's the apocalypse and the power imbalance between them, he could have treated the MC much worse than he did before he began developing feelings for the other.

ML also learned to express his feelings better towards the MC and know to coax his lover whenever he inevitably acted too controlling (not that he stopped being controlling and isolating him tho, but since he never actually physically hurt the MC, and the MC is aware and is fine with it, I guess it's fine? Although their relationship is in no way healthy but hey, it's the end of the world and they seem happy so whatever, I suppose...)

3. The plot

As a romance, it's not half bad, although a tad corny with a pairing between OP aloof tsundere gong x Weak pure-hearted shou...

However, the story does lack world building. There were no detailed explanation about the progression of the base expansion and the world outside their base. The extras are also lacking in background and personality due to very limited screen time. The 2nd and 3rd ML's felt like mere stepping stones so that the MC and ML would get together. The animal companions were quite well done though, they were cute, lovable and loyal.

All in all, not a bad story, but I probably won't reread it. If you're looking for a quick fairly ligh-hearted apocalypse novel interspersed with angst that focus more on romance, this novel is for you, but if you're looking for thrilling battles, base development and a serious fight for the survival of humanity, this is not for you. <<less

This was a very pretty good and light read. The characters were fun and the stories were engaging. I liked how the abilities evolved and how we saw the MC getting better at it.

The MC wasn’t actually bad like what some people say. Although I sometimes got annoyed at his salted fish behavior he also recognizes it and changes, opting to do missions like everyone else. He is actually pretty mature which surprised me. He fights back and isn’t afraid of getting his hands dirty. His reaction to death surprised... more>> me cause I thought he would’ve need consoling but he handled it pretty maturely which is explained by how he grew up which I thought added a nice level of depth. His relationship with the ML was interesting and entertaining

The ending felt very rushed though and I wished we could’ve saw more of them rebuilding and stuff. It felt very unfinished and I wished they would’ve went more in depth with the ml. I don’t even think he has a backstory and we don’t much about him.

anyway I liked it and if u need something light and quick this should be good <<less

When I read this story, I didn't see the cruel Song Xinqi or the s*upid Yu Qing, but people who used to be cold and spent their whole lives in the hospital.

Yu Qing is not s*upid at all. As we read, we see that he calmly realizes that he is not the best user of his ability, and makes informed decisions in various situations. It is only in relation to Song Xinqi that he shows his optimism and carelessness.

Song Xinqi really looks like an iceberg, but it has to do... more>> with his character — he is a tsundere. Before meeting the main character, he had never asked for forgiveness or felt affection for anyone. However, even with such a character, he shows more patience towards Yu Qing than towards other people.

Reading this novel, you should not be critical of all the points. It is better to try to understand the characters of the characters and their past by putting yourself in their place. Could you have a normal idea of things if you spent your whole life in a hospital with a very fragile body? Would you be able to get closer with a detached character to a person who constantly wants to be around and communicate openly with you?

If you answered both questions positively, then I am happy for you. But I can't do that. That's why I find this novel very interesting and unforgettable🥰
