In my previous life, the transmigrator systematically captured my parents, brothers, and fiancé.

She won their adoration, everything went her way, and her success was unstoppable.

Meanwhile, I became despised by everyone, forever banished to the cold palace, never allowed to step beyond the palace gates for the rest of my life.

It was only after my death that I realized she came from another world, with the sole purpose of capturing.

The more miserable I became, the luckier she grew.

In this new life, I exchanged a lifetime of love for a single wish.

The Bodhisattva asked me, “What do you want?”

In a soft voice, I replied, “I want everyone she captures to know that she came to capture them.”

And so, they all heard the notification sound of her system.

No romance. FL suffered a terrible first life due to a transmigrator and shitty family. Transmigrator was tasked to capture her family and fiance and took away FL’s luck.

FL gets to rebirth and she takes her revenge. I find the revenge super satisfying and also super painful ngl. Felt Jiang Yi’s (ex-fiance) end was especially cruel.

Still 11/10 good faceslapping.

For me this is one of the best revenge stories out there.

All those who needed to pay the price paid it heavily. I really liked this kind of FL who is decisive and ruthless to bring justice. Even so it didn't diminished her inherent good nature. Everyone had experienced this kind of heartache were those who were suppose to love and protect you were the ones who hurt and betrayed you the most-which our FL suffered especially her whole family turning against her,

"Family betrayal is, to me, the most... more>> heartbreaking kind – because if you can't trust your family to love you and protect you, who can you really trust?" – Alexandra Bracken

Though this type of plot was already been used many times it still stings and resonates deep heartaches.

"What goes around, comes around" came true at the ending for her "family and ex-fiancè". And the best part of it the

FL-Zhao Hua wasn't the one who killed them directly which sublty tells us that she wasn't corrupted and blinded by her revenge but had kept her true-self as she was always been- pure and innocent.

since he loved Xu Qing Qing so much that he married her in the previous life despite knowing that Zhao Hua was always been innocent after her death, Zhao Hua helped him to fulfill this in their second life to marry him again to Xu Qing Qing despite of his protests. After the retribution of Jiang Yi, Zhao Hua still gave him a way out of his misery through fate-another point of hinting us that Zhao Hua has this kind of attitude "you get what you give" despite all of her sufferings because of them was still compassionate enough to give what they deserve.

For me this is a happy-ending for the FL, she got her closure and her freedom from the emotional shackles she always had with her family and ex-fiancè. At the last chapter with the monk as long as you strive to change for the better it will happen.

This novel is just more than a revenge story but there are heavily undertones of life lessons we can learn from. Revenge is not just about hurting those who hurt us but making them realize that their actions have consequences. <<less

If you like a ruthless revenge story, this one will be for you. The princess does not relent at all on her former loved ones. This type of story is very refreshing after the irritation of so many other stories that let people get away with the most crappy behavior. That being said, I have a complicated feeling towards it.

Spoiler

At the end they threw in a "secret" from XQQ claiming that all three of them men were jealous of the princess in one way or another. That jealousy is what made it easy for her to steal favorability from her and caused everyone to turn against the princess. However, in the original life, JL said SZH had been the apple of all of their eyes until XQQ came. And the crown prince had doted on her, worrying more she did whenever she was hurt in the slightest. That doesn't seem like jealousy that caused them to dislike her - who isn't occasionally jealous of their siblings?

And at another point, it mentioned that the system gave XQQ an aura that made her irresistible. Although I appreciate that SZH calmly got revenge, I don't really think they deserved their fates. In reality, they were artificially influenced by a supernatural system and not fully in control of their actions. XQQ was given cheats of knowledge in order to perfectly manipulate people, as well as magical antidotes and poisons that no one would have been able to figure out. In the first life her family was monstrous at the end, and I would've felt that they deserved to learn about XQQ and die at that point. But I am much more ambivalent when they restart the timeline and punishment for the original life is the goal. The princess seems to think that problems already existed that XQQ simply brought to light (i.e. Greedy parents, incompetent rulers, faithless lover), whereas the details actually reveal that XQQ created problems that didn't exist prior to her. On the one hand I do feel some satisfaction at a good revenge, but on the other hand, it feels like it was carried out on the wrong life's people.

Strangely, I think the author made the original life's family feel more regret than in the second life. After her death the 3 men seemed upset but trying to hide it, and then each time she was framed, they seemed more upset. In the second, even when confronted with the problem immediately they still blame her somehow.

Truly an complex short story. The FL (Song Zhao Hua) suffered alot due to transmigrator (Xu Qing Qing) who tried got points for system by making FL miserable and making captured targets hate her while doting XQQ.

When the time returned, FL able to shred off her emotions and avenge for her miserable past life. She did it straightforwardly with no dallying or underhand scheming.

FL's family got no redeeming quality, as XQQ said they easily manipulated bc of their greed and jealousy. Just lower -1 ratings bc her family's repentance or... more>> guilt to FL were lacking (maybe bc of pride as royal family) until end.

The story included violence and ending were harsh but it' consequence of their actions. <<less

4/10, I know it's a short story, but it feels so rushed, and the revenge is not satisfying at all. Like the characters were rush to be killed? Does it make sense but anyway the book just feel so incomplete..
