The world building is good, but I don't like the protagonist.

He has no emotions or desires after a point, like some kind of self aware computer. Some other novel protagonists have said it best, "what's the point of immortality if you can't enjoy it?"

It's like the MC doesn't even notice he's becoming an emotionless robot, a sort of Heavenly Dao that only seeks its permanent survival regardless of everything else.

It's kinda like an interesting viewpoint on what you would give up for more power. In Jin Yong's wuxia books, there is a powerful martial art where you must become a eunuch to use them. MC here has given up his emotions to pursue power. Was it worth it? <<less

First thing I should let you know. I love evil, dark, ruthless, ambitious, rational, realist MC. So obviously I'll be a little biased towards it. And this is a fantasy, not reality. So I got no problem even if he was worse. Just my POV.

Realist, ambitious, no female lead afaik, do whatever it takes to survive instead of being a loser who talks about justice as that's best thing to do if you are weak. But what if you are not? Anyway nevermind. Thing is this story MC is very different from harem seeker, lolicon, zero iq, meddle in every girl business, save every girl...... Blah blah type of cliche MC whose journey is just filled with similar troupes as any other novel. Those are best for newbies or kids imo.)

One of the best best novel I read in apocalypse genre which is also long.

Ofcourse it's not perfect from a pov of evil MC or even similar (if you are going to compare netheril Glory lol)

but it's still great. I loved it. Though I'm yet to finish it. But it's going great.

And 800 chp. Tbh more than enough for me. Even 300 chp would be enough (I'm a slow and impatient reader lol)

Apocalypse [ Reiki Recovery Situation]. MC is a scientist.

He tried to get in ahead of others and slowly slowly drifted toward ruthlessness and coldness [ indifference ].

But he is not absolute bad or absolute good.

He do things at his own pace on his own accord.

He is Neutral-Evil [ As he don't shift toward justice at all, At most you will see him repaying favours or just staying true to his commitments, of course base line is that he can do it and no harm or problem would arise from that act toward him, at least not what he can not handle. ]

I found it very unique in Apocalypse Genre

Last I read I was around 200+ chp. Going to continue now.

It's a story about a young man with a newfound power that changed the world, his preception towards it and they way he embraced it.

The power growth pace is good, not too slow not too quick. And the MC's character development is quiet paced but reasonable. The early part of the story showed how MC was a very normal person until the world changed and so his view.
