Tang Li differentiated into a disabled omega. Despite his beautiful and pure appearance, his pheromone glands were incomplete and incapable of secreting pheromones. Naturally, he couldn’t be marked.

Such an omega was equivalent to a defective product. His original fiancé broke off the engagement with Tang Li and turned to marry his half-brother instead.

His family that always prioritized their own interests also abandoned him. Tang Li became the object of everyone’s hate overnight.

Even when he slipped, fell to the water, and drowned, no one cared.

*

Meanwhile, in the Zerg territory, which was feared by all interstellar empires and alliances, all the Zergs simultaneously felt immense joy!

The Zerg Queen they had been waiting for for thousands of years finally broke out of its shell!

*

Tang Li never imagined that one day he would become the Zerg Race’s Zerg Queen.

Moreover, the man at the pinnacle of the Zerg’s clan power was still waiting for him to fully mature in order to absorb his zerg nectar…

It's a short read so there was no proper build up to fully enjoy the story.

  • I wanted Tang Li's old empire to truly regret losing him. I wanted a more profound reason, like them losing a high grade omega and giving a powerful queen to their dreaded enemy
  • I wasn't impressed by the romance. It felt like they fell in love due to instinct. Of course the ending is still sweet.
  • The antagonists were 2 dimensional, low IQ characters, and extremists. Their endings weren't even that satisfying. All 5
  • The world setup was interesting with Zergs in humanoid form. Wish it was explored more.

This is a story with a solid main couple, an interesting fusion of human-Zerg settings, standard villains, and a cliché counterattack. It is not bad, but the finale was completely underwhelming.

Spoiler

The final reveal during the counterattack plot at the villain’s wedding was sloppy and could have been handled much better by the author. The King of the Zerg used a method that could be seen in any story which implicated a random innocent. I am personally going to pretend that the victim in this scene, ‘friend of the bride, ’ was one of the Groom’s many lovers alluded to throughout the story just to give the ending some depth. This black belly CEO handling of a cross species conflict followed up immediately by a cheap timeskip felt rushed and unsatisfying.

[collapse]

Despite (or perhaps because of) this, the story is thankfully not so long or drawn out that the story loses value. We may not see the impact of an omega becoming the Zerg Queen or what the breeding period entails for our hapless protagonist, but we still get a relatively straightforward enjoyable romance. The protagonist is a good balance of kind and strong without being a complete pushover despite an upbringing that was lacking in almost every way. The male lead’s main points of attraction are the peaceful era he established for the modern Zerg, his strong self-control over his innate instincts, and his respect for his partner. They are a good couple and enough to make this a worthwhile classic read for those who enjoy the insectoid setting despite the shallow plot development. <<less

Hi, this is KEIGHTY and I'm the translator of ZERGQUEEN.

Here's a piece of my thoughts on the story.

First of all, I translated this story out of my personal fondness with the couple. I found them so endearing and relaxing that I decided to share it with others. This is actually a good one if you're looking for something to read before going to bed. The MC may get into trouble often, but at the very least, he tries to save himself before the ML does. ML was introduced in the... more>> story as cold and unfeeling, but he later dotes on our MC so much! So sweet! That's a good point for me. The ending was also satisfying (personally). But then again, it's a short story, so please dive in with little to no expectations.

Enjoy! <<less

I thought it was a very sweet short story. The main purpose was to show our MC find love and home for himself. Therefore, while there is some antagonists that was appropriately slapped, that’s more of a sidenote. It was still satisfying.

I honestly thought MC wouldn't return to this OG planet. But that was satisfying. The ML’s brother getting the result he did was satisfying too.

I think if it was a tad bit longer, the pacing would have been better. It did feel a bit more rushed since we don’t... more>> get a proper buildup of the feelings between MC and ML. Clearly there is a passage of time where they’re getting closer. But since we don’t personally get the details, it felt a bit rushed. So I wasn’t as drawn in by the romance. Unfortunately that’s the nature of shorter stories. However the ML and MC are very sweet together.

I also appreciate how much worldbuilding they managed to fit into such a short story. It was just enough explanation without overdoing it.

Overall, I do recommend as a short story. <<less

A short ‘n sweet (VERY short) romp with no real angst, so a bit too fluffy for my taste but still an enjoyable read, especially for someone who likes face-slapping and zerg themes. There were only 3 brief arcs: ... more>>

.

I genuinely liked the chemistry and development of Tang Li and Izz’s relationship (and I’m always a sucker for a white/silver-haired gong lol) but I wish each chapter was twice as long so the dramatic arcs could have more satisfying build-up and so the couple could encounter more angst.

Good for a 1 hour read that got me in the mood for more zerg action, though it only felt like an appetizer. <<less

Short and Straightforward. The plot is Clear and the pace was really nice till the end. We even get the Revenge scene against the bad Family.

Sure it's not Faceslapping novel, just somewhat Slice of Life and Fluff but with touch of a little drama. No Angst. Really nice!

Lovable MC and great ML. Anyway it's rather Light story, each chapter is Short, but clear till the end. I absolutely enjoying it and love it!

This is a very horrible book. The MC is a very useless and weak guy. The book might have made a lick of sense if the MC wasn't so s*upid and weak.

This universe essentially makes the omegas powerless fodder who can only cling onto a man (alpha) like a useless parasitic vine. And the author goes out of their way to do the same for the Zerg queens when we all know Zerg Queens are the actual ruler of any Zerg race as they're matriarchal. But in this book Zerg... more>> queens are just useless parasites who are at the mercy of Zerg kings.

I don't know why they decided to write an omegaverse when it's obvious what they really dream of, is writing traditionally misogynistic male/female pairing. The year is interstellar age but with these settings, it's very obvious women rights (sorry "omega" rights) are in 1834

Every single omega (because women don't exist in this world setting) only goal in life is to marry and bear children like a good breeder. Even to the end of the book, the MC's only goal in life was to live happily ever after as a good house wife.

Spoiler

The MC wanted to take birth control and the author used Amos as a plot point to make sure that doesn't happen and MC is happy and grateful for fulfilling his duty as a good parasitic breeder.

[collapse]

Also the MC is human in a Zerg body but that is a pure lie because this Zerg body has ZERO influence on him. The author might have well gave him a human body with special omega effects to seduce Izz.

Now on to the MC s*upidity

Spoiler

This MC became the Zerg queen and gained not one lick of sense, he is still human, his human upbringing is the only thing he does but even that doesn't make any sense. If he has a noble upbringing then he knows what it means now that he's at the top of the hierarchy but in the ballroom scene with Amos when he felt uncomfortable, he's acting so nice and polite as though Amos is an alpha he needs to be polite to or suffer social consequences.

For what reason exactly did they go back to earth and expose his identity to the humans? Politically this is a nightmare for the Zerg race. Not even a coded exposure to just his family. No, all the servants knew which means the entire social circle will know.

If he's truly nice and kind and conscious of social status implications, he obviously knows what this will mean.

This was a disappointment. Not a lick of sense. Why would you take something like a zerg setting & ruin it? The zerg queen is a dodder flower? No brains, no strength, just a bun that anyone can take a bite out of. ML is all powerful, forever rescuing. The villains are 1 dimensional & s*upid. Wasted potential overall.

When I read the synopsis it caught my attention a lot, I thought it had a good premise, unfortunately the author did not know how to develop it, at the beginning of the story there are several references to "I am not human" and it even feels a bit as if the author wanted to copy it but he himself realizes that he should not do that and begins to try to change, rewrite everything that is related to "I am not human" and goes deeper into the ABO, in... more>> the end the novel ended up being another ABO in disguise where the omega is chased with very strange pheromones, it had nothing interesting, and the entire zerg atmosphere was completely lost, in fact if the author did not insist on mentioning the word zerg every so often you would not even remember that this novel is classified as that genre, the characters, the clothes, personalities, food, etc., there is absolutely nothing that seems even remotely zerg, everything is exactly the same as in human society, nothing interesting, it bored me to death...

The MC is also quite a wimp, he has an extraordinary identity but he doesn't take advantage of it, he doesn't even know how to use it, he's quite pathetic. Obviously he could have killed his half-brother who killed him in his previous life with just an order or even done it himself and there wouldn't be any problem, after all no race would start a war with another race over the death of an ordinary citizen, he can solve almost all the problems that come his way with the snap of his fingers, his influence is even greater than that of the Zerg King himself, since he has a spiritual link with the entire existing Zerg population, if the King wanted to harm him he couldn't face the entire Zerg population together that wants to defend him no matter how strong he is, but the MC is an idiot who can't do anything but be a pretty omega for the handsome alphas (sorry, Zerg kings) to chase her... <<less

Waiting for the update is so worth it! (੭ु ‾᷄ᗣ‾᷅) ੭ु⁾⁾ I just wish it was longer WHY IS IT TOO SHORT

I love them so much!

I just love that the Zergs accepted Tang Li even if they knew that he was a human in his past life (I know it's just because he's the Zergs queen that's why he is being accepted, well, I don't care 😘) AGAIN, I LOVE THEM. I just wish there is a side story where they met when Tang Li is still a human or... more>> them having a baby together. I would probably love it so much more 😍

This novel is very short happy ending. Although there is conflicts here and there but seriously it more to fluff novel. However the fluff is not enough!! Even the ending felt a bit rushed.

I felt like their relationship can be more detailed instead of skipping the confession and directly go to bed. Even after MC wakeup. At least can confessed their feeling, make us reader eat lots of dog food. But no.. They directly confirmed the relationship just like that??. Guys, even before going to bed, the MC actually was... more>> being drugged from the villain.

So yeah, fluff is not enough. Face slapping scene is okay. Not bad. I like it.

The fluff is not enough, scene of their love is kinda short. Only at the end of the story. A few scene here & there.

Good for first read, but not good enough to reread. Anyway not much conflicts, like I said this novel should be the fluff, no brain novel but it just readable fluff.

Oh, this novel is a bit like novel ' I'm not a human'. That novel also human transmigrated to Zerg queen. That one is full of fluffy scene. <<less

It was sweet and lovable story. Don't expect too much drama or action, there is some revenge, but not too much.

If you are looking for some detailed setting with big revenge or world building, etc. This is not for you. However, if you just want to read short story with sweetness of new life and not too much grudge, go on. It is short, super sweet and enjoyable story which will make your heart fluffy. Do I wish there was more to the world and having some extras? Yes, but... more>> it is also okay being as it is, because long is not always good.

I read novel on CG so thank you KEIGHTY for translating. <<less

It’s pretty much a fluffy, feel good story. Barely any conflict at all. MC had a horrible past life and had no one on his side, then he is reborn and is loved by his entire race. At the end, we get a satisfying all around happy ending.

I was actually pretty impressed at how good the author was at writing the villain. I don’t mean the villain was brilliant, but he was really repulsive. I caught myself curling my upper lip in disgust multiple times at scenes with the villain... more>> despite him being described as handsome, powerful and wild.

Spoiler

The villain wants to get MC to be his mate, but he’s very forceful with it. So, even if he’s really handsome and strong, it actually makes you disgusted and feel he’s very repulsive. Idk, I just found myself feeling genuine dread and distressed for the MC in scenes with the villain.

[collapse]

All in all, it was a simple and enjoyable read. Nothing out of this world, but it was entertaining and satisfying. <<less

Very average nothing happy burger.

There's not much here to talk about. I love the premise but this novel is pure happy feelings. Not much romance (ML falls fast), not much fluff, not much intrigue, not much action, not much revenge, not much anything. It probably aimed for the "hurt comfort" type of story but I feel like there wasn't much substance there either. I guess you could call this a really light read, if you're feeling like picking one of those up.
