A metaphysical master Gong Qingyao never dreamed that one day she would be transmigrated into two thousand years later.

After transmigration, Gong Qingyao has two goals in life.

1. Make good use of her metaphysical skills.

2. Acting well.

But what did this person who has been following her want?

Qin Ze: “Me? I’m your third life goal.”

During a press conference.

Reporter A: “I heard that you can participate in this reality show because of unspoken rules?”

Gong Qingyao glanced at the reporter. Her husband and wife palace has collapsed. Her eyebrows were sunken and there was a black air: “Your husband cheated, if you go home now, you can still catch him.”

Reporter B: “According to insider, your scene in the middle and late stages of this show has increased because you have a close relationship with the director.”

Gong Qingyao glanced at this other reporter.

A person’s parents’ house was on the forehead. Looking at this reporter parents’ house, his left forehead was narrow and collapsed, indicating that his father has passed away, while his right forehead was also sinking and darkly stagnant: “Your mother is sick and it is life-threatening. You are recommended to return quickly.”

The reporters took a step back in silence.

Gong Qingyao: “Are there any more questions?”

Reporters: “…” No, no.

“Did you find out? Any products with commercials or endors**ents by Gong Qingyao will be sold out!”

“What’s this! Anyone who has partnered with Gong Qingyao will call her ‘Sister Yao’, even the best actor is no exception!”

“Well, Gong Qingyao doesn’t seem to have any anti fans, even if there are, they will turn into fans within a month.”

Probably deserves a 3.5 ish. Basically no romance but still a somewhat entertaining read. MC doesn't mind revealing her powers in front of people and doesn't really even try to be discreet. It's a little underdeveloped how people react to her as at some point she flies to rescue someone in an accident on film site with wires and the person's just like 'oh, you can fly? I'll invite you to dinner to thank you later.'

The story kind of stays flat and it's just her going through and spreading her... more>> knowledge kind of- idk it wasn't as entertaining as some other stories I've read with this premise cuz there isn't any face slapping or feel good kind of characters like Transmigrated into a Cannon Fodder's Daughter. It also doesn't have the comedic tone of Fortune Teller Master or very much depth to make up for it. Feels like stuff just happens and passes with no significance so it's super shallow. ML shows up fairly early and starts developing feelings obviously somewhere around their 3/4th meeting-ish? It's in the beginning-middle of the novel. Nothing happens between them though and MC shows absolutely no feelings for him all the way to like the end of the novel. No joke he confesses and she's just confused by the timing. Idk it was probably the most lackluster romance I've ever read. They don't actually get together either even by the end. He's chasing her.

The ending was kind of confusing in mtl so I'm not sure if I'm the best to explain it, but it really didn't feel like a great ending. I think I might just have gotten bored too though at that point so idk? It just really drags on and on. The pacing is all kinds of weird in this novel- like it starts to really drag on and on at some point but the climax and resolution somehow happen in like a matter of a few chapters. You can really tell where the author was writing exactly for word count and where they were fed up and trying to move on.

Overall, all the relationships in this and characters are all somewhat super shallow (and definitely super stereotyped) except the MC in some ways (don't get me wrong MC is absolutely the archetype of the overpowered, Mary Sue, indifferent character type but there's glimpses sometimes of an actual personality).

I do like that the MC has a moral code and not just that, she's willing to help people that are considered really annoying because she thinks people can change. Many people in this actually do grow and change for the better and there's not many super evil, terrible villains. I don't think that all people can be as easily redeeemed as they seem to be in this but it's nice to see characters who aren't always brain dead and making the same exact mistakes over and over without changing at all.

Saying all that though, this is a decent-ish novel hence the 4 stars. 3 stars for me means the most mediocre thing to read and while I could argue that honestly, I think it's still ok. It's not a great novel at all and I definitely did get super bored at some point, but also It avoids the crappy tropes a lot of show biz novels have even though it's barely show biz. There's no brain dead antagonists or major dog blood drama. There's no horrible ML where the relationship turns abusive. It's a very simple and good read without many plot holes in comparison to many other novels so I can still appreciate it. I did enjoy it most of the time and just thought the relationship between MC and ML didn't need to be shoehorned into romance when MC clearly didn't care and that the novel was a bit too slow without any impact. Not every novel needs to have a major impact tho so I think it's still fine.

Read for time pass if you're looking for something with low emotional investment and for light reading. <<less

Done MTL. The plot is interesting and also intriguing. I really enjoy this novel, although it focuses more on the MC's desire to revive metaphysics and accomplish the original body wish than love line.

However, I read far too many novels to be aware of human avarice. I believe this author really underestimates human greed. The MC does not hide her might or the fact that she has one from ten ancient beast in the world. Can you image the amount of human greed that can be gathered? This novel contains... more>> far too much optimism, which is hard to achieve in real life. As if nobody greed for the MC's strength or her ancient beast.

Despite the happy ending, I'm curious as to what happens to the MC beyond 'the end' if this novel evolves into a subworld-like system novel. Lol. Would the MC and ancient beast be apprehended by the government and taken to a lab to be turned into a mouse lab, or would another country envious of MC's country try to ruin MC by manipulating her family? Can MC and her ancient beast contend with the army? I guess reader never knows.

In the end, even though MC is powerful, she is also bound by shackles. <<less

It's a solid 8/10 read.

Throughout the story, there are a lot of funny parts, interesting bits, but some repetitive ideas. It's overall entertaining and hit the spot for someone like me who was craving for showbiz with supernatural. But at some point it feels like junk food.

We have FL "transmigrated" into a poor artist in the entertainment industry. Over the time, she helped people using her metaphysic knowledge and experience while trying to get the movie queen award.

The routine is always the same. Variety show -> gets underestimated -> receive... more>> admiration -> solve cases when not doing variety show -> gets underestimated -> receive money ->....

At some point, it gets quite boring but the variety shows and the cases are quite different each time, enough to make it interesting. The thing that gets me the most is the underestimating part. The characters are always following a certain template. I counted and there's six of them at least. These are all female, young, jealous of FL, and was outrightly sinister to FL. If that is not repetitive, I don't know what is.

Other than that, the world setting is strange. At first, we are in a world where law should work. But nearing the end of story, it feels like a lawless world and that's directly opposing the story's world building. I get that this story is heavy on xianxia and supernatural, but it just felt off. This and its repetitiveness of braindead characters made me deduct my good impression on this book.

There are also plenty plot armor/deus ex machina regarding some side characters and events,

Spoiler

like Qin Ze the pseudo ML was always there saving FL's life, helping developing village, and suddenly investing in FL movie. Or how FL can get the movie queen award with only 3, I repeat, three! works with one being almost cameo, one TV drama supporting role, and one female lead in movie.

[collapse]

but I think this story is still enjoyable read. I also like how this is not romance focused plot and the ending left rather open.

Translation quality was good although it was edited MTLed. I can tell TL spent a lot of time and effort in researching since there are a lot of Chinese metaphysical terms.

Overall, give it a try~

Other recommendation of similar stories:

Spoiler
  • The former wife of invisible rich man - supernatural with ghosts, past life, and showbiz with variety show
  • The fortune teller master - transmigrated master in fortune telling, poor to rich. I really like this one but haven't finished reading it.
  • I am matchmaker on taobao - episodic, actress, supernatural ability

The metaphysics thing isn't my thing but I love the story.

What I can say was, ML is pitiful lol. He is like an extra to the story and he didn't get together with MC because the story already ended. Note: It's NOT BE. It just ended when ML is pursing MC.

This story isn't focus on romance. It's focus is how MC revive metaphysics and achieve the wish to become movie queen while doing it.

I think it's better that it ended like this than to become a bad story.

It’s a story mainly about FL (MC), her journey and her OPnes. Some things about the story doesn’t have any logic neither it have any realistic feel. Here the ML doesn’t have much role. It’s okay read.

Novel was great for most of it get a little bit boring near the end of the novel around ch.110

MC is really OP which was okay since lot of reincarnated MC are like that but near the end it was just to ridiculous of how OP she was and it just didn't feel interesting to read anymore.

Spoiler

I feel thing I didn't like

  • How there wasn't a part where ML realized his feeling for MC. It just sudden went from "I treat her different and care about her" to "it so hard to chase a wife" like how did the development get there
  • Sacrifice of Xiaomi, like wtf she was just created just for that purpose
  • How everyone worshipped MC at the end was just werid, like it was okay to just admire her or so but no they like worship her. Talk about MC having a halo

good simple read!

story focused on MC's spreading metaphysics haha it didn't feel like there was much in the acting section but meh

I feel there were some things that were rushed, othered were left unexplained but... (sigh)

Even though I was looking forward to the romance, the story... didn't really make me think towards it so

Spoiler

even tho the ending was kinda open bc the last extra, ML (Qin Ze) is still "chasing" MC... and it does kinda make me sad (sigh)

I'm actually okay with it? MC knows of his feelings... and who knows, maybe they will end up together... if not explicit together, she might still be closer to him than others (?) 🥰

A bit sad with the ending but it's okay :')

The story is disappointment with plot holes. This shouldn't be counted in romance category at all.

If not for romance tag,

that tag was just to lure audience.

ML looks more like a side character here. I mean, why add romance tag if it's not romance?

Spoiler

ML and FL didn't end up together, ML was still chasing FL and FL didn't have any spare time for him. I don't know if he is considered ML as well.

Story is a little interesting in beginning, but it got stale repetitive too soon... everywhere MC goes, she predicts, people make fun, and then bow down to her greatness. ML is useless, and exists just for the sake of having a ML. MC, though shown to have a strong moral fibre, is mostly a block of wood - there is no chemistry between the main leads, ML is treated the same or worse than the little ghost-sidekick... The children-go-home is treated as just a tool to form some connection between... more>> the two leads, and every few chapters, we're notified that MC did some calculations and children were found... There seems to be an enemy in the dark who is engineering many events, but everything else is so bland... <<less

I came for the romance genre and I was scammed. Honestly I would give it 1 star if not for Qin Ze.

The premise is pretty interesting and it was an okay read at first. If the story goes on well, I might want to give it at least four stars.

The MC is cold and didn't have too much emotional changes, so I took off one star.
Spoiler

The author did emphasize how MC was indifferent at first but could feel how precious family and friends are in the end, but it felt like an exaggeration and wasn't really seen throughout the story.

[collapse]

As the story goes on, MC's coldness made the plot rather bland and boring. There goes another star.
Spoiler

The MC is OP and we just know that she would not lose but the MC really doesn't make me feel any thrill or excitement that made me wonder what will happen. I don't feel this bored when reading other novels with OP MC.

[collapse]

The last star is lost because I really feel vexed about how this shouldn't be labeled as romance genre. I feel that even the romantic subplot tag should be removed.
Spoiler

While it's clear that Qin Ze likes MC and does whatever he can to stay with her, he doesn't feel like an ML who would do whatever it takes to make MC his. His actions to chase her was quite reserved like a second ML who would be content just by being MC's side and watch her from the sideline. In the end, it seems that the MC didn't even have a shred of romantic feeling toward Qin Ze.

[collapse]

Another thing that make me vexed (it's just a rant),
Spoiler

It was said that Qin Ze saved MC's life twice. First is when she was just reborn, Qin Ze accidentally ruined the formation that was made to kill MC. Second, Qin Ze took an arrow that was aimed at MC's heart and MC couldn't dodge it. However, I think that Qin Ze has saved her thrice. It was when the ancient sacred beast Feifei attacked the MC and her reality show crew. Although it was said in the end that Feifei was grateful to MC because she saved it in her previous life, but at that time Feifei shouldn't be rational enough to recognize MC. And MC has lost all of her energy that she almost fainted. And then Qin Ze shot it, so Feifei got smaller and MC could take it away. I think Feifei should've regained rationality because of Qin Ze's shot, so it should've count as Qin Ze saving her. If not because of this shot, I think it should just be Feifei attacking MC who lost consciousness. It just feel vexing as to how the author didn't mention it, though it might be that my own conclusion is different from the author's intention, so I won't take off any star because of this.

[collapse]

Finally, I gave two additional stars because I just fell in love with Qin Ze that I steeled myself to read this novel through the end.
Spoiler

1. Qin Ze could recognize MC right away although MC was wearing heavy make up that has already ruined after falling into a lake when he met her the first time, and MC has almost no makeup on the second time he met her.

2. While Qin Ze doesn't appear much, he really appeared whenever MC is in need for help.

3. Qin Ze trying to help trafficked children to go home although pretty much everyone dissed him as a scum really touched my feelings.

4. Qin Ze could disregard his own life for the sake of saving MC.

5. Since Qin Ze doesn't appear much, so his interaction with MC shouldn't be that much, but it seems that he could really understand MC. Since he and MC are practically from a different world (MC is a metaphysics master and he didn't believe and knew nothing about metaphysics at first), it feels impressive and made me moved how he could understand her within a short timespan with little interaction.

2.5 rounded down, and extremely baffled that this novel scrounged up a score above 3.5 to begin with.

Extremely mediocre junk food type read with even less substance than I expected. Dropped because while the premise is moderately interesting, the middle is so bland that I couldn't keep going. This story bears some similarity to reading a play's script, or some such thing, in that it's "MC does this! Wow! MC predicts that! Wow! MC is morally good! Wow!" It's a remarkable waste of time, and the worst thing is that... more>> it's not even a particularly good junk-food read; a lot of the humour falls flat and the MC's cold wooden "whatever" zen immortal attitude doesn't help. Even the face-slapping is still just... eh, whatever. Just like the MC's attitude towards almost everything in life, once you read this, you really can't bring yourself to care all that much about the novel, the setting, the plot, or any of the characters.

As others have said, this has so little to do with being a movie queen that I don't understand what the point of adding that plot point in is. If the focus of the story wasn't split onto 50 different things, perhaps this could've worked out better. <<less

Quite an unexpected story. I was expecting some cliche romance about metaphysics and now rewarded with cliche metaphysisc sprinkled with romance.

At first I thought it was gonna be a real slowburn. Didn't quite rralize until the end that even till end, the ML stil has not succeed in getting the MC. So about the romance, it is an open ending.

However it's still a nice read even without romance. It's just so satisfying to see MC and her incredible knowledge on these kinds of niche things.

3.0 ⭐

It just wasn't memorable. Honestly, it does nothing special but is definitely representative of this sub-genre. The characters are likeable enough when you're reading it and the plot is easy to follow. Again, it gives you what it promises (it doesn't promise a lot).

I gave it a 3.0 because I don't remember it as well as I should. It is what it is.

Honestly even though it's been a couple days since I've completed this web novel I'm still kind of at a loss as to how I feel about it. At the beginning it starts out just your regular transmigration/reincarnation plot featuring a very powerful MC, but the further I got into the story the more little things would pop up that would bother me. And by the end of it I went from mildly annoyed to completely exasperated.

Spoiler
    • The first thing that started bugging me was the reality show that Qingyao was filming for. The first couple of times they filmed it was fine, but honestly it started losing its novelty by like the third shoot, and at that point I wasn't really interested in seeing Qingyao and the cast anymore. I think the story would have benefited if the author had cut down on the number of episodes they had to film, with that part of the story more condensed I wouldn't have been rolling my eyes by the time they had their emotional farewell.
    • Then there was the plot line where Qingyao used her powers and saw that Chuxue (one of the other girls who was filming for the reality show with her) was about to be r*ped and didn't do anything to stop it. You could tell the author thought CX deserved this as she was willing to sleep with someone to land an acting gig and had CX r*ped and abused by a group of men to teach her a lesson and to show the audience that one shouldn't use unscrupulous ways to try and gain success. They even further punctuated this line of thought by making CX less annoying afterwards, as if what she went through was for the sake of 'character development'. When I read this I just got so angry and sad. I enjoy face slapping, half of the reason I read these types of novels in the first place is to read some satisfying face slapping and revenge, but I am never EVER going to be okay with r*pe. It's not even like I particularly care for CX, but if I was in a position where I could potentially prevent someone I despised from getting s*xually assaulted, I would still do my best to try and help them. I know most of the people who write these types of stories and read these types probably won't have a problem with this aspect, but this really affected how I perceived QY's character, and it definitely made me like the author less lol.
    • The whole Ning Yong plot line was also frustrating. It's obvious that the author tried to set up a mystery around him but then it just... led nowhere. At first the author makes you think Ning Yong is the final villain, but then the MC meets him in his apartment and leaves without doing anything, and then during the final section the villain turns out to be a whole other person instead? I get that the author was trying to surprise the readers, but doing it this way only made this feel sloppy and shoddily put together, plus it negates all the mystery she was trying to build up before. What was the point of all the mystery and foreshadowing from earlier chapters if in the end the villain was someone else that we had never even seen before?
    • And finally there's the ML. As far as typical MLs go in this type of story Qin Ze is... fine? He's not overbearing or possessive or controlling and in general just isn't as toxic as a lot of MLs I've come across. But somehow he still manages to make me want to throw him in the garbage. I feel a bit sorry for him because I know in any other story I would probably find him an acceptable ML, but in this story, on top of everything else I was already annoyed by, he only exasperated me even further. He's clingy, brings nothing to table in terms of usefulness, and really just feels like a hindrance. He does a lot of things that helps QY, don't get me wrong, but I hate that he's always there for important scenes, like just let QY be badass on her own. He doesn't even end up with QY romantically in the end so I would have preferred if the author had just cut him out of the story entirely.
    • In the end, when Xiaomi sacrificed herself for Qin Ze, it felt completely undeserved. I would have 100% preferred Qin Ze to have died instead. At least then I would have been satisfied.
    • The author also tried to pull in this last minute rebirth plot, where it turns out Xiaomi, Qin Ze and the villain were all people QY knew in her previous life. It added nothing to the story. If you took that part out the story would still be exactly the same. I wanted to cry.

Despite all of that, though, this web novel was genuinely entertaining and fun to read. It's not ridiculously long either so even if I was tearing my hair out by the end of it I was still able to complete it.

[collapse]

Summary: It had a great start, mediocre middle and a bit of a sad tr*sh fire ending. But I'd still recommend you read this anyway if you're even the slightest bit interested. It's not too long of a read so even if you get to the rocky bits towards the middle or the end it won't be too hard to push through and finish the whole thing anyway. Reading this was a uniquely irritating endeavour, but honestly I don't regret it (don't get me wrong, I would never read it again, but despite all its problems it had a nice base story and concept).

What I want to talk about is the ML! How can all of you say that the ML is unnecessary?! Sure he might not have that much chemistry with the protagonist but does that matter?!

I found this story had a similar style with "After Transmigrating, the Bosses Begged Me to Plant the Land". Both focused on MC and romances were only a side dish, both MCs were OP but had a boring character, and both MLs were outstanding but sadly, only served as MC's background. Well, at least ATBBPL still had a few romances but in this story, romance was basically nonexistent. ML only made an appearance for a handful of times and he was there mainly only to help MC solved her problem... more>> or her case. He even saved MC's life a few times but after that... nothing. MC was still indifferent towards ML. And what made me more angry was:

Spoiler

MC and ML still didn't end up together in the finale. He was still busy chasing after MC while MC didn't care about him at all and kept herself busy with metaphysic.

This was really contradictory with what MC thought during her flashback. In fact, ML also appeared in MC's last life. In the past, ML was also chasing around MC but MC was still busy defeating his enemy. MC mentioned that she actually noticed him but she really didn't have any time to spare for him at that time. But now, in her current life, MC finally defeated her old enemy but she still didn't pay any attention to ML and was busying herself with other things.

Really, I think ML really deserved better. Although MC was so amazing (in the eyes of other people, even ML himself) but ML was never part of her plan till the end. He already exhausted himself by chasing MC in the past and now in his current life, he also already did his best but MC still didn't care, so I think it's best for ML to find someone who cared about him too although she maybe wasn't as outstanding as MC.

[collapse]

As for the story, it was quite interesting in the beginning. In the middle, it became a bit draggy but suddenly near the end, it became so rushed.

Spoiler

Even the villain boss was defeted way too easily and he died rather quickly.

[collapse]

And the ending was far from satisfactory.

Spoiler
  • Like I mentioned in the above spoiler, MC and ML didn't end up together so yeah, that's sucks.
  • What happened to Jiang family in the end? Was they left unpunished?
  • Who was the one who talk with Yu Chuxue in the hospital?
  • MC forgave her uncle just like that? He did many bad things to Gong family in the past. He abducted MC and made Gong family sad for years. He didn't tell his wife the reason why they couldn't have any children and made his wife blamed herself for years. MC had the right to forgive him as the related party but she didn't have any right to forgive him in the name of Gong family. What about her parent's and her aunt's heartaches for years? He needed to ask for forgiveness himself in front of them and whether they forgave him or not was his own problem.

Spoiler

The villain characters and plot points were shoved into the last few chapters to tie loose ends but makes no context to the length, pace, and story. The boyfriend/husband of MCs sister was working with sudden evil guy from MCs past life. Back story about a character we don't care about to justify his shitty behavior. He was motivated by other shitty people and tragic backstory but LOVE... did not do anything because he still dumped baby MC to orphanage. Consequences? He gets to have children in the future regardless of all the evil things he's done. A+ quality writing. Who was MC in the past? Don't know. How was she in conflict with rival/evil character? Don't know. It's the writer/editor/someone got sick of the story and just shoved everything in there after an EPIC. SHOWDOWN. The supposed ML? Ehhh, he could not exist and the story could be 90% the same. MC does not change due to OPness, so on and so forth.

[collapse]

The story is funny until you stop caring because the writer stopped caring. Pretty decent translation quality tho! <<less
