Their blood is what we all share today.

Qing Long is the former strongest man in the world. He traveled through space and time and was reborn as Ji Hao in the Fire Crow Clan of the Southern Wasteland. It’s a complicated world. Forces from both inside and outside of the clan want this young and talented boy to die. First 150 chapters are kinda of an intro, a bad one at that, but it gets better.

It has it's ups and downs but currently at 1600 chapters it's going downhill real fast.

It's basically eye r*pe!

... more>> Different power levels out there and it's always explained as heaven-defying and super rare to get to that level. When our MC finally gets to that point suddenly millions upon millions of people are on it. It happens with each level so far.

MC is MC on name only. He gets constant power ups and one of a kind treasures and still can't do shit.

More than 90% of people in the world are brain dead following every order even if it means their death, and they'll still follow it even if they are ordered to su*cide for no particular reason.

And for some or other reason, the world will let's many different invaders enter the world and let them do what they want but is hard on powerful locals to the point they die if they stay in the world.

And many other stuff... <<less

I know many people don't like it, but to each his own taste. For me it was equally good, it was rather different for any other Xianxia's or Xuanhuan novels. First its like everything has returned to ancient era, tribes fighting each other for territory. In any other novels though clans and sects are introduced and said they are in conflict, but fight occurs rather too little. Now in review I have seen saying their is no plot, I beg to differ, all the fights MC had basis, any enemy... more>> attacking also had its own reason, but only if you read till now you will realize. At current chapters, the world is shown to divided in to two and now they are all fighting. And it is honestly rather exciting.

Now on to cultivation, the cultivation is too unique, I think you can somewhat relate to warlock of magus world, but MC is not cruel as that experimenting anyone that suits his needs. MC character is rather likeable, straightforward as well as cunning. Honestly reading first ten chapter you will like the novel and if ignore the dumb hating about being in ancient times, you will rather like it. <<less

TLDR: Started good., then declined to mediocrity.

Long Review:
When I get disappointed in a Novel I dont have mod for a long review, at the beginning everything was good, plenty of travels, adventures, steady power up, good plot.

But then halfway (around chapter 800) everything stop making sense, the author started to become a word count writer, leaving enemies escape after so many chapter of shit-talking, and this repeats over and over.

The most Powerful cultivators do nothing to help, just by some "Oath" they made to no interfere with humanity, but... more>> they don't think that the plans other make can put the humanity on danger, and when it happens they cant do a thing.

Once again I started to read a Novel ignoring other people's review because I thought they were over reacting or just reviewed the first 100 chapters. NO.... NO! this one start good and then turns horrendous. With lack of common sense and direction.

When new words were introduced I expected the MC to travel the universe offend other planets, conquer and get strong, but he remained on the same world, same place with same people. Such a disappointment.

Too much stalling and word filled around chapter 1000, then rushed after chapter 1800. Ending could have been better and more detailed.

Still have many things to say. but with my score. I believe it was enough. <<less

To be honest this is no fun at all, just some elements and that's all. Now let's talk about MC character or more like side character in the story- not enough power, grows at slower rate, nothing unique to his character (like MC in IC, ISSH, DMMG, SR, KOG etc) not worth mentioning, he is not that handsome so plz remove handsome tag from novel there are most ppl who are way handsome than MC. In the first half uses treasures most of the time I hate that most, still... more>> uses treasures all the novel. Now lets talk about story it is way frustating, I don't wanna read about other ppl fighting or story for 10-20 chapters, relationships are joke this was frustrating at last its over. There is lot of unfairness from author to MC I really hate author for this.I'll rather read PMG than this. <<less

How have I not heard how great this is before? It's such a great story it's amazing in how it gives the feeling of fantasy mixed with a cultivation novel; but its more than just another cultivation novel - it has such fantasitc imagery and creative worlds and characters that other thin, minimalistic cultivation novels can't even compare. Sure its a classic structure for a story you may have seen the ilk of before, but it's a good classic that has amazing creativity and world building that pushes it far... more>> above its peers. <<less

Good story, interesting MC is truly smart (contrary to PMG or others where MC is depicted as smart but...) and he has a decent moral and doesn't go pick a fight every 5min

In some other novels, the MC is being ruthless because he says the world is like that but it's just a convenient tool to make the MC look cool destroying clans and making the plot advance creating new enemies. Here, the MC might be ruthless to some extent against evildoers but the world is really savage, hostile towards... more>> human beings and basically it looks like clans in old human history with mystical power and monsters on top of it. So it's a world where basically captured enemies will become either s*aves (women kids and some warriors) or sacrifices to the clan's spirit once in a while (only warriors usually).

(might be considered as slight spoilers but not really)
Though I regret the way his friend Man Man develops, she's complete muscle brain while the author could have done much more with her. She's a rebellious girl, always being spoiled because of her status and strength but also cocooned with no knowledge about the real world. He could have slowly transforming her and opening her because of she finally got a friend and because of realizing that her status doesn't mean much in the outer world and her strength isn't enough but he keeps pushing her on the muscle brain side. But still good story, not planning to stop it after 200 chapters is a good sign usually. <<less

Since its xianxia, you know what to expect from this kind of novel. I like it, its refreshing to read this kind of story, though I believe i’ll get tired of it someday. So I wont talk too much about this series since you know how xianxia is. What im complaining is the translation site and the typo? (Dont know if its typo or error or whatever it is since I dont know their translation method and the "typo" is in the entire chapter). I’ll just give you example.

I’ve read... more>> 2 novel in xianxia world, this one and portal to wonderland and both have the same problem. Ive read it weeks ago so i’ll give you the most annoying “typo” thats stil stuck in my head till now.

The magus era: at first they translate a certain “class” as Maguspriest, but suddeny it becomes Magusreist, Magureist, Magreist, and Magwhatever it is. At first I thought it was a typo, but the typo is in th entire chapter and even continue to the next!! And its not just this one. If I try to name it one by one, I dont know how long this review will be.

Portal to wonderland: Dojo >> SOJO !!! Damn f*cking SOJO !!!! What the hell is SOJO?? Its so annoying that I dropped it right away. After these 2 series, I give up on reading any in this site. My grammar isnt perfect, and I dont know any chinese so its not really my place to say this, but please, since you choose to start a translation site, put a bit more effort into it especially when you are translating popular series with so much potential as these two. <<less

As a preface, do note that I am simply stating my opinion, as it were, and that in writing this, I only have the best interests of my co-readers in mind. That said, it would also be prudent to understand that it's an established conjecture that the reviews that are 4 or 5 stars are written by people that were either paid by Qidian to tank their ratings up, by people who are simply daft, or simply by unsavory folk with extremely questionable tastes.

If you, however, are in doubt, I... more>> urge you to give this novel a try. That is, if you're willing to stomach the terrible prose, the stale world-building, the repetitive plot, the horrendous character development and the glaring inconsistencies that keep springing left and right. Allow me to reiterate that you are free to experience the terror firsthand - in fact, I insist.

Read -or at least, try to read- until the 500th or 600th chapter, afterwards stop, collect your thoughts, then contemplate whether the 1☆ rating was well-deserved or no. <<less

I had given this novel a 4 star before which isn't worth it anymore. Now I'm not hating on it for some petty reason and I am still read the novel despite the fact I am giving it a 1 star.

Here are some of the reasons why I am giving this novel a 1 star:

-Redundancy

Yeah yeah which novel doesn't have redundancy and this is also the most used excuse by haters but that's not it for me. I don't dislike redundancy as long as the author is able to develop... more>> and explain properly the world and system our MC follows and allow us readers a better understanding of it. However this novel use redundancy not as a way to develop the world/worlds but to expand upon more ideas without proper explanations leaving us hanging and trying to figure it out using our own Chinese novel knowledge. This happens not once but multiple times throughout the novel almost forcing me to drop it.

-Racism

We all know this is a Chinese novel so majority of the characters will all be asian but the author a big closet racist.

Now before I explain how he is racist they are few points that you need to know before getting the full picture:

It have a group of invaders the populace call "non-humankind" which are essentially 3 groups of people which classified by their characteristics are :

1) 3-eyed monsters/people with normal two arms and two legs

2) 4-armed monsters/people with normal a pair of eyes and legs

3) 6-eyed monsters/people with a pair of arms and legs

These non-humankinds are basically the author's indirect reference of white people back in the days if you are sharp enough you would be able to pick up hints of it.

Now that you know the points let us get straight into it.

The author at first created a group of people called dark-skinned kind which you guess it (black people) and the author makes the non-humankinds ens*ave these group of people and do their bidding just like how back in the days s*avery worked.

The author tries to pretend he is not racist by adding other coloured skin people which namely are red-skinned kind, blue-skinned kind and green-skinned kind. O yes I said "tries" because few chapters later after introducing these different coloured skin people the author never uses them again. After a certain big war our MC gains a bunch of s*aves some are traitors of the human alliance and guess what is the other kind of s*aves he got? Black people! This isn't the worst part yet, our MC basically author's re-imagination of himself in another world treats the black s*aves just like the non-humankind and once again tries to make himself not look racist by saying that these so called "dark-skinned kind" are raised to be s*aves generations after generations so that s*avery is in their blood and if the MC release them they will become clueless idiots that will kill other "humans" (which only includes asians no other skin tone people). This isn't the worst bit of it the author even went as far as indirectly referring these "dark-skinned kind" as loyal dogs not humans but dogs WTF.

If you want to feel anger with not satisfaction then you could go ahead and read it. This novel is basically the author's 1000+ chapter thesis on why asians are better than other races. The only reason I am still reading this novel is to see how much more racist the author can get before the end of the novel. This novel had great potential for the initial 100-150 chapters and after that racism became one of the cogs that make the story moves <<less

I'm writing this review to talk about the unbelievably s*upid power levels in this story.

In chapter 6, we learn that the basic measure of strength is a "stone". One stone is described as "the hardest rock in the Southern Wasteland jungle. Each of those stones had been carved into a three-square-foot cube. " Now try to picture that in your mind. The weight of a 3x3x3 foot cube of rock is estimated to be about 2+ tons or about 2500 kilograms, give or take a a few hundred pounds depending... more>> on what site you referenced. This is ONE STONE.

Children of about 6 years old, at the VERY FIRST cultivation level, have a strength of TEN THOUSAND (10, 000) freaking stones. That means these 6 year olds can lift the equivalent of three Eiffel Towers. Please, just imagine that.

Very early in, the MC's power hits the range of MILLIONS of stones. And he meets a princess half his age who's able to carry hammers that even he is unable to lift.

Usually, there should be some suspension of disbelief to help with unrealistic stories, but this...I can't. <<less

Opening of the novel is great. It has a proper prologue to the whole reincarnation storyline. But 20 chapters later you realize it was nothing but an excuse to give the MC an invincible technique. I kept on reading because the plot was interestingly about tribes living in jungles and savages. But then I realize author has no idea how to progress the story other than tons of random filler fights and pointless plot lines. While I don't mind plot armors author seems to love using ambushes into this story. Total of 11 fights in first 80 chapter - 8 of them just to add new characters + 6 of them ambushes in one form or the other (this aside for number of times, "scheming" scenes are included) :
Spoiler

1. Introduces Ji Wu and Ji Shu, first fight. Pointless character introduction fight number 1
2. Against Ji Wu and this time there is Ji Wu's mother. Pointless character introduction fight number 2
3. Against the Ji Wu and his mother again, when they are cultivating. He tries to hurt them by getting help of his new introduced friends. Pointless character introduction fight number 3
4. MC again tries to hurt them again using his magic and this the introduced character is Ji Wu's Grandfather. Add it to the fact that this is same plot as number 3, it is both pointless character introduction fight and pointless plot point 1
5. Another fight with Ji Wu and his dad, Ji Shu vs MC's dad Ji Xia. MC's dad loses. Here, Ji Wu shows up unharmed ie even 4 was a pointless random fight number 2
6. Another fight just to introduce Ji Wu's fiancee where she ambushes him. Pointless character introduction fight number 4
7. Against some lackeys and Ji Wu's fiancee again and 2nd ambush. Introduces the guy from Black Serpent Clan and the lackeys. Pointless character introduction fight number 5
8. Savages and another tribe and new villain, 3rd ambush. Pointless character introduction fight number 6
9. 4th Ambush attack by the tribe above + Black Serpent guy and new elders from his clan + new friends. Pointless character introduction fight number 7
10. 5th Another ambush setup which "fails". So making it the first lines without purpose ie filler
11. Another damn 6th ambush and Fire Leopard clan. Introduces new tribes and people. So Pointless character introduction fight number 8

The interaction between the characters is quite good but I would like to ask the author is the MC an MC or a side character...

Come on at 1st I thought that after the mysterious guy gave him the dragon and phoenix thingy he'll be op but when the fight scene commences the villains are more stronger than him and he needed his friends help... for me still ok but it always repeated he always got help from external forces from his friends and the strong guy that comes from the... more>> minland.. well it's still okay specially the innocence of man man

But this puts me off

Spoiler

he already have an access to all the good stuff in magus palace all the good medicines that strengthen his body and many formations to use but damn during conflict he didn't even use any of the formations and he still got cornered he always got help from external forces I thought he is already unique from a normal senior magus but hell no.

HE ALWAYS GOT IN A PINCH EVERY DAMN TIME AND ALWAYS GOT HELP FROM EXTERNAL FORCES EVERY DAMN TIME

Well that's my review this novel is not for me I'm not into MC that have allready good stuff and yet still relies from others help to resolve conflicts

Maybe of all the Chinese novels I read where in the MC is good in resolving conflicts by himself after getting the good stuff.. I already expect it when reading this kind of novel but meh not in this one <<less

The concept is interesting and it looks like it has some fun mysteries to uncover, an op MC and an interesting cultivation system so why 1 star?

1. it's a bit repetitive

2. There's almost zero comedy... what's obviously meant to be funny is not because of the translation

... more>> 3. The translation is garbage.. someone put effort into it and we should be thankful but it feels like mtl... even the tl notes have mistakes... it feels like scam... after 150 chapters I felt broken... so I'm out

4. The cultivation system is interesting but it's slow and he just randomly gets op for no reason most of the time.

5. He's a bit too blood thirsty.. he kills in a fight fine but then he sacrifices a bunch of clans for shits and giggles and he keeps drinking ppls blood... at this point it feels like he's doing it for fun... then he tries to act cute.. it's weird I'm not against a ruthless MC but don't make him completely psychotic it feels like he'll become the joker in the last arc or something...

6. They talk about magic and magi but they're basically just dao cultivators it seems like a waste my time to westernise it... just call it what it is..

7. s*aves? Really? It's like he owns a cotton plantation it's gross

Honestly if the translation was better I might have read more but I can't recommend it as it is

edit: p.s. I'm not sure why s*aves gets a f*ckin censor star it's not a swear word... what else is censored

Don't know why someone removed the war tag on this one, but a significant amount of content is wars. Don't believe me? Then scroll through the chapter titles..

I like the wars tag because if I see it on a longer novel, I instantly know what it means: filler.

I find it especially true in this case, nothing important happens besides a lack of meaningful plot, sometimes a character moves from point A to point B only to eventually return to point A, or the MC has to resolve logistic problem... more>> that wouldn't have happened in a society where war was this common. Especially a world where people are on average smarter than what we would call smart on earth. Like people who dive into magic laws aren't going make dumb planning errors. Especially when wars = resources.

Either way, we get a war sandwich, multiple layers containing some interesting content, but mostly a variety of pointless wars and other situations that make you as a reader sigh at the amount of time you'll spend reading fluff until you can get a taste of the actual plot. <<less

I tried to read this because it had lots of things I like in CN e.g. Magic, male protagonist, weak-to-strong etc. I thought it would be a guilty pleasure novel but its nothing like that.

I deliberately pushed myself to 100 chapters to give the author enough time to try and peak my interest but it was a grind. The story telling is poor, silly units often used (e.g. 100 mile knockbacks), characters are standard tropes and boring. The cultivation system is obscure and it doesn't matter when it comes to... more>> killing people. Enemies can have their hearts explode and still walk away - remember I'm only 100 chapters in so these characters who should have had fatal injuries are low cultivation characters.

The translator/ editor make regular mistakes e.g. Mixing up names. The "magic" isn't western magic but ritualistic magic like shaman/ cults use.

I could go on, but the only redeeming point of this novel is the translation is complete. If you are scraping the bottom of the barrel for something to read and the synopsis vaguely interests you then you can try reading a bit but for me this was one of the worst novels I've ever read and I rarely rate anything 1 star. <<less

A fun popcorn novel. With action and world building more on the WTF level like Emperor's Domination (though completely different from ED otherwise)

Takes place in the distant pre-history, so the cultivation system is still being formulated and understood by the practitioners.

MC isnt a loner. He fights with his tribe in the beginning and with his friends once he leaves his tribe for the wide world.

As of c166 (a good stopping point before the beginning of MC's life in the midland because I want to save it for after more chapters are out), rate 8.5/10.

(To my utmost dismay,) many nowadays regard "typical" xianxia to those no brainer novels with nonsensical plot and slaughter where villains are all ret*rd. Well, this novel is NOT one of them. There is one IMPORTANT point before you embark on this novel: the world is at a very ancient age, built on pure fantasy that borrows some history facts (people name and stuff). In this world the strong rules while the losers either die, submit to less favorable situations or become s*aves which is the main thing. This applies to conflict types ranging from personal to tribal, clans and races, no exceptions and very consistent. There is no such thing as "innocent people that happen to be born on the wrong side", life is decided right at the moment the side you belong to wins or loses. Such primitive cutthroat world can be hard to stomach, and if you are uncomfortable by it, then steer clear because this is the foundation world of the entire novel.

Now to why I like it so much. I'm very picky with details, while there indeed are loose ends and holes, this novel is one of those with little details that delight me the most.

Let's get some bad points out of the way first:
Spoiler

1. Fast start, vague line between different level of power (for both people and weapon rank) initially however they will be described a little more clearly as the story goes.
2. Big measurements. My only advice for this huge world type of novel is that you disregard all the numbers. If there is something hundreds of miles long, a snake for example, just ignore the actual length and imagine a snake as big as your imagination allows.
3. Loose ends such as an enemy's storage bracelet was mentioned with MC's desire for it, however after the enemy died it wasn't mention. Another is that Jiang Yao (another enemy) want to catch MC alive to access some ancient Magus King's place for its treasures, but after get rid of Jiang Yao, MC paid no heed for this mystery ancestor's place. Dunno if the story will mention it again in the future.
4. Frequent encounters of bad people and perfect timing of troubles, a little too many for my taste but I can understand many readers of xianxia like it when MC fights more than rests.
5. Dues ex, however not the type that come and go after conveniently saving MC. They actually still playing a role.
6. There are unexplained things (ex: the old man in MC's spiritual space) but until finishing the novel to see if they get explained later, they can't be considered flaws yet.

[collapse]

Now the good stuff in my opinion:

Spoiler

1. MC: a straightforward and smart kid, likeable, if you can read about this harsh world then you can see that he is a pretty good kid. He is OP from the start, but the author balances it by showing from early that this OPness is so far nothing for this world. Even the art of borrowing/unify with the strength of heaven which might sound impressive, while it's great, it's not considered an impossible feast.
2. Cuteness details here and there. The big fat furry bear rubbed against MC, the pair of snakes wiggled playfully off his ear, the simple minded mountain god who is happy just by being with its friend despite the situation where it has just become a s*ave, etc. The world is brutal, but there are people and moving moments that put a smile on your face. What's more, our MC would also smile and appreciate such moments.
3. Side characters when appear will at least get decent screen time. There are some unique characters, for example, like Man Man (Even though I'm annoyed with her personality, but it's reasonable why she acts the way she does, seeing as she is a 10 yr old pampered kid with dragon strength and giant hammers in her hands. She makes a consistent and good character). Villains also have many types, greedy, lusty, or just weirdly hysterical, it's fun to read.
4. There is good humor mixed in. The characters sometimes react or converse in a strangely serious but comical way. Maybe because I'm very sensitive to this kind of humor that I got a great laugh throughout the story.
5. A good show rather than tell of techniques. For example, MC doesn't have many technique, the one he uses the most was described that you can both imagine it and feel its simple yet artistic beauty (especially if you know the stuff that the author uses to relate this technique to). Fights are not abstractly, but clearly described (if you can ignore the big movement measurements).
6. The world is built magically. There are bloodshed but there are also beauty. Some places are wild while some give relaxing feelings with nice people. As MC levels up he learns more about the history of humankind. As he journeys, explores and enjoys what he sees, meets people and ponders the philosophy out of this simple world, I can actually relate to him.
7. The author while building such a world, still keep their common sense through the narrative or MC's thought that makes me go lol so true. For example, when MC fights enemies that keep recovering in a diabolical way: "Ji Hao had fallen into an arduous situation". Or when Man Man beats up the 7th prince s*aves (who did nothing wrong) because of the 7th prince, MC thought "those poor women". Such is the way of this world, but coming from a more modern world, MC still knows what is reasonable and what's not.

[collapse]

It's all these little delights that compel me to give a 5 star despite some flaws, because I honestly think the low rating is undeserved.

Do yourself a favor and read something else unless you've caught up with your other novels and have time to spare. Just don't take this too seriously.

The author has problems because the amount of death and s*avery in this novel is groundbreaking. There are also genocide and human sacrifices...

Ok, I can look past that. The MC lives in a weird and chaotic world, but the fact that the author exaggerates everything is too much. The guy jumped for miles in the air? He could shoot an arrow several miles... more>> away and then engage in a conversation with the main character/others? <<less
