Chinatsu Sugito is a tsundere girl.

She is scorned by her childhood friend whom she likes because of a misunderstanding. Masataka Sano, who happened to witness the scene, saw his chance and stood up to take advantage of it. Although Masataka has been in love with Chinatsu, she has known a boy since she was born. He had half given up on her, but suddenly an opportunity presented itself. Not wanting to let this opportunity pass, Masataka relentlessly took advantage of Chinatsu’s weak heart.

Chinatsu’s heart gradually unraveled. She can no longer live without him….

Meanwhile, the boy who had known her since childhood thought he had a smooth sailing school life, having abused Chinatsu and on top of that, acquired a beautiful girlfriend. He didn’t realize that it was built on a fragile foothold. …Even when he realizes that the nagging tsundere girl is his kind and beautiful childhood friend, it’s too late!

This is honestly one of my favorite novels ever. If you ever read or watched any Romance and thought "she deserves better" this is it. MC came in carrying the will of all those people with ZERO nonsense. No doubting himself too much, no wavering, no denseness, IMMEDIET action, hard work and care and a hint of selfishness that's needed in Romance to make any progress. One of the few novels I've read multiple times. Not very long but honestly I think it's a good length to not drag anything,... more>> a great completed story <<less

Pretty good story. Characters with motivations that are understandable and/or relatable, an show actual growth as human beings. The MC is not joking around, he knows what he wants and what he has to do, no "I love her but can't say it", no "maybe I'm misunderstanding friendliness with fondness". No, he loves the FL, and tries his best so she can love him too.

Summary of the history:

MC fell in love with a girl (FL), she only has eyes for her Childhood Friend (CF). MC improves himself, so he can... more>> become a desirable partner, and waits till there is a chance for him to win her over.

First chapter, the opportunity appears and MC doesn't idle around, he moves right away to win her heart.

He wins her over reasonably fast. It's not the "oh, now I'm head over heels for you", no, it's hard to get over a love, specially one you nurtured, basically, your whole life. MC tries his best to heal the FL broken heart, while, at the same time, clearly stating his feelings for her, and showing why he would be a good partner.

You won't have to read thousands of chapters until MC and FL become a couple, no, it happens, at a reasonable point, neither fast enough for you to say "is she already over her CF?", nor slowly enough for you to think "this is taking to long, just become a couple already".

After they become a couple, you'll be treated to chapters of their lovey-dovey relationship, while seeing the growth of the four main characters, MC, FL, CH, and another girl (Don't worry, no NTR whatsoever).

All in all, a quick read, a nice story, that tries its best not to fall on stereotypes. <<less

Don't be fooled by the summary. It may make this seem like a super sus story where a scum MC manipulates the FL into dating him during her moment of weakness, but that's definitely not what happens. We only ever get the barest hints of that in the first one or two chapters, but after that things quickly flip around into complete wholesomeness and fluff.

Rather than being a manipulator, the MC here is legitimately one of the most honest and proactive I've ever seen in any romcom.

I’m so happy the FL got her happiness. And also yes, the MC at the start can be said as opportunistic and calculating, but all is fair in love and war.

This story has a very fresh twist in the romcom category.

I had a lot of fun reading this. There's not as much drama as I thought there is. Just a simple love story in school setting.

Do not be fooled by the "tsundere" in the description, this is *not* a story where the protagonist keeps being rejected because the girl cannot communicate her feelings properly.

In fact, this is the story of turning the tsundere into an absolute adorable and lovable girl, and giving her happiness. This part of the story is honestly so heartwarming and full of fluff. I can't fathom how much I love the interactions between the male lead and her.

Now why 4 stars and not 5? The supporting characters. They are written in... more>> a way to make you absolutely hate them. They are in a weird state where the attempt at giving them a story arc isn't detailed well enough to make us feel genuine empathy for them, so perhaps they simply shouldn't have had a story arc at all? <<less

This is kind of heartwarming to read, it was a very lighthearted story but it tickles my emotions a bit and make me want to root to the mc's efforts in making a sad tsun girl happy.

Concept: 4.5/5
Style: 4/5

I like novel with this type of MC, the only flaw is that it is too short. For anyone who want no drama and good MC, this is for you.

I actually wasn't a huge fan of how it started but I felt the way the plot handled the points I thought were dubious to be decently clever and ended up enjoying the story more than I expected.

Was really solid till chapter 38. Than the author decided to try make the MC a saint for some reason. He practically just ended up forgiving the guy (childhood friend of FL) who tried to assault his girlfriend (FL) Like wtf? And not just assault it was border line leaning to almost SA. There appeared to be barely any consequences as well. Bro basically almost SA’d the FL and then faced no repercussions with both the FL and ML forgiving him. Seemed pretty s*upid to me. Still a good story... more>> but it definitely seemed a bit s*upid. And it was very hard to have any empathy for him as well. The author wasn’t able to properly create a proper redemption arc and it seemed just rushed and kinda lame. It was hard to feel sorry for him at all and from chapter 38 onwards it was honestly pretty hard to read. It just seemed kinda cringe and extremely unrealistic. The story is still a 4/5 for me however I doubt I’ll be able to finish reading the story it just seems like the author is running low on ideas. <<less

Its nice, no excessive amount of chapters that are just the main couple interacting without progress anywhere. It is as long as it needs to be. Characters have flaws here and there, no one is a complete saint or a complete sociopath. Side characters also get the attention they deserve. A fun thing to read if you have an empty day or two at your disposal. 9/10

It’s a great novel, and I really enjoy how the relationships between the characters change and grow. I also think it’s great that the childhood friend grows and gets better instead of just like being dropped or something. (Similar to My Childhood Friend Who Rejected Me Is Coming on to Me!)

Wow, after reading this, I realize that the "gigachad protagonist" tag on novel updates is missing. I would love to read more romcoms with such a mature and determined MC.

The hero is the antithesis of what you will find in hundreds of novels. That is, a protagonist who stutters, cannot communicate, has hearing problems, interprets everything incorrectly and, above all, does not take decisive and consistent actions.

Here we have a real, goal-oriented and mature male with two healthy testicles.

... more>> I think this story is unique in this aspect.

FL is absolutely adorable. I really like how her development was handled.

ex crush should have died after the action in front of the house.

Ayano is awesome.

and the extra chapters show another incredibly mature character.

Overall 9.5/10 - inconsistent handling of the ex crush lowered the whole experience. <<less

This story was surprisingly good. The plot was actually quite simple but I love the characters in this story and their growth. Even the villains... no...I wouldn't say the villains because in the end it's just kids who made a mistake and learnt from it.

Spoiler
    • MC was a decent man who strived to do better so he could stand by FL's side proudly. But he also knew that doing all that was also for his own good and made him feel better about himself. He loved FL a lot but he never force her to accept his feeling. He understood that her feeling to her ex-crush wasn't something that could vanish in one day. If I must say, he's really one of my top favorite ML because he's so dreamy.
    • FL lost her confidence for a long time due to her toxic friendship with a gloomy childhood friend and crush, Osaku. She fell in love with him and that feeling lasted until they're in high school. She also didn't know the reason why she still loved him even though he treated her badly. Maybe it's a habit. She regained her confidence after distancing herself from Osaku and be together with MC.
    • Osaku really disgusted me with his delusional tendency but when his delusion shattered he's like a lost puppy after the initial rage. Fortunately, MC was there. Although he didn't like Osaku, she also didn't want to see him drowning in self-pity and sorrow. He tried to lift his confidence and made himself as an example. It the end, it worked and Osaku began to slowly change to be a better person.
    • At first, I thought Ayano was a white lotus but it turned out, she was more than that. She had her share of mistakes but she's also a bit innocent and naive in her thinking. This time, FK reached out her hand to Ayano and be her first real friend because that's what Ayano needed the most at that time.

Great story along with solid characters, dare I say actual depth to their personalities and goals. I only wish it was longer. 4.5 stars. Author actually knows how to write a great protagonist, truly rare these days.
