There was a big scandal in the Mu family.

The real daughter of the Mu family was switched by the nanny since she was a child. The Mu family didn’t bring her back from countryside until 17 years later!

After the true daughter returned – There was no affection, only sympathy.

The Mu family parents asked her, “We have a deep relationship with Yaoyao. We can’t let her lose face. We can only announce you as an adopted daughter to the outside world. You won’t blame us, right?”

Her fiancé also said: “My fiancée can only be Yaoyao! Get out of here country bumpkin.”

The attitude of her older brother Mu Qingyi was even more complicated.

Yet despite all that, the real daughter, Xu Xinduo, said indifferently, “It doesn’t matter.”

***

From a young age Xu Xinduo could swap bodies with a certain teenager. That teenager would always exclaim in an annoyed tone, “Let’s switch bodies, I just don’t feel like taking piano lessons.”

Xu Xinduo helped the teenager to win various trophies, become a top student and honed his noble temperament and talent after taking over his body.

***

At a banquet, everyone in the Mu family watched as a rich young master strode towards Xu Xinduo and said, “Be my girlfriend, although you are from a small family… you are very beautiful.”

With a smile Xu Xinduo replied, “I’m starting to miss my parents already.”

Such a quick change of attitude?!

The romantic story of the indifferent real daughter x a filthy rich despotic young master

Note: Here “switching bodies” means swapping of souls. It’s temporary and doesn’t involve any physical changes.

This is really a good novel! Every characters are likeable and relatable.

FL is a strong girl. One of the reason is because she lived in both poor & rich environment, but at the same time, trying her hard for ML.

This novel also dives in a little into mental health and characters are actually dimensional. I really love the relationships that form around the MC.

The author didn't make them perfect, like how the ML isn't good at Chinese comprehension and writing and has bad grades in Language Arts, unlike other Chinese... more>> novel MLs. He's considerably childish and learns how to protect the FL.

They both do not know how to express themselves romantically (at first) but their actions and words really show that they care for each other.

Her real family is such a jerk to her. I'm glad that towards the end, her mother & brother changed. Even though the father is still a scum till the end, I think it makes the story more realistic than letting everyone repent.

There are some loopholes & somewhere that needs to be elaborate, but overall, the story itself is good. <<less

I won't say that other reviews affected my perspective but reading the story so far didn't give me the eagerness to finish it.

I'm the type who will read MTL novel even if it'll fry my brain, however the story should be very very interesting and engaging.

This novel plot and character growth felt really flat. It's a one way conversation, didn't feel real because they're just so so. I don't think I'll continue reading it.

Rating so far 6 out of 10

This story have a lot of flaw that I don't even want to think of. I approve of the MC and the ML personally and role of the story but the other characters are just confusing.

Spoiler

The fake daughter bullying were pretty much resolved by ML and their friends. The MC didn't really counter the bullying because she doesn't care.
It a good thing that the main character's brother happen to treat her nicely but claiming the fake daughter (aka Yaoyao or the cannon fodder) is only useful for marrying into another family seem pretty uncaring and harsh considering to a sister you grew up with your whole life. And than there was the plot where MC real family get bankrupt and the fake daughter went crazy because of her former fiancé cheated on her and her adopted father abuse her seem too outdated. Though it was pretty much expected that the fake daughter won't have a good outcome, I at least want it to be challenging to MC and ML like being smart and useful. In the end she was pretty much thrown out and consider useless once it was revealed she was adopted.

[collapse]

I think, the only thing I enjoy was the relationship between MC and ml. The rest is just unnecessary drama to move the plot. Personally I think the MC and ML can get together even if MC wasn't going back to her real family <<less

The beginning:

Spoiler

It's a bit slow for me because it took some chapters before MC and ML saw each other in person. I still enjoyed it ALOT though because MC can take care of herself without ML.

[collapse]

The flow:

Spoiler

I am honestly not sure where the story is going. I felt like there is no big climax or big villain in this novel which is quite refreshing for me because since this is a CN novel. There isn't a second ML too so it was quite fun for me to wait where everything is going.

[collapse]

The Good:

Spoiler

1. I am so in love with MC's character. Her decisiveness and how she tries to open her heart to others is to die for.

2. The ML... I LOVE THE ML HERE. MC is mature while ML took quite awhile and he didn't even know that he is in love with MC which is quite consistent with his character since he is pampered and he has everything growing up. He also has room to experience true freedom thanks to the frequent switch.

3. The family: First the parents of the ML is so nice and I am happy that they don't suck. The grandma truly loves both ML and MC. I felt so bad for MC's brother and I am glad that he managed to have a good ending. I like how although MC's biological family sucks, they are still human and everyone gets the ending they deserve.

4. I like how this novel attempted to give supporting characters life that doesn't revolve around MC and ML.

5. The romance of MC and ML has a certain maturity to it since they have been together for so long. A bit co dependent on each other but I still love how they always knew that they belong to each other.

[collapse]

The meh parts for me:

Spoiler

1. MTL - enough said. I can't wait so yeah I kinda deserved it lol! I hardly understand stuff but this novel is worth it.

2. I felt quite sad with the ending of the sister but then again they all made choices and she is poisonous AF.

3. The loose ends is a bit good and bad for me. Good because this novel doesn't attempt to solve everything in one go. Bad because what happened to Zhen Longtao? He said he will sincerely pursue MC, but he was never seen again or mentioned.

[collapse]

Verdict: Feel good read. <<less

The body swapping is done in a way that seems pretty natural, and the interactions between the ML and FL is pretty cute. Enough drama and fluff to keep the plot going without being so over the top you wanna rage quit. The translation is pretty solid. Updates are steady. It's worth a read!

The novel is really good. Very realistic intake on swapping bodies. It is a little slow for me, as up until now I feel they are still doing character development. But the story is really good. Thank you for translating. Can’t wait for new updates.

One of my favourite novels. Some ott parts & also some pretty realistic responses to finding out a family member was switched at birth & trying to adjust.

Great translation, thanks.

Enjoying this a lot. I like both leads and the translation is well done too. The softer side of the female lead hasn’t really come out yet so she comes across as a beautiful, very competent girl who isn’t good at forming relationships due to her life circumstances. She is not really a very likable character at this stage unlike some of the males who are looking out for her. But I can see this plot line having a lot of potential. Looking forward to future chapters.

I love the story! For whoever likes a slow romance where both protagonists slowly fall in love without noticing this is your story! The characters are great and it's quite humorous. The soul-swapping is fun and the novel is translated quite well too! The MC is strong and can defend herself while the ML is quite protective and caring over her!

I do recommend this story if you like a modern drama that has a strong FL and a somewhat dysfunctional ML. Compared to some of the other Chinese novels I've read this is not too focused on the potential betrayals in the background or other conspiracies that could/ are/ will develop around the MC & ML. Some other reviews mentioned the cultural "Seen but not to be Heard" of the MC doing all the work while the ML gets the credit. However, there are still aspects of this in most... more>> areas of life and culture, but it's rarely revealed. I think here it's that the MC has a desire and in some aspects the ML takes advantage of it, but what is overlooked is that he also helps as he can in other ways. Our MC doesn't necessary want to stand out or be the focus of the people around them. The aid that the ML provides is more subtle and only known by those really close (MC & G'ma). Sometimes it's financial, but there is also the emotional, plus reputation that gets downplayed since the ML is suppose to be a hardass that doesn't have emotional connections with anyone, even family. He's also suppose to be someone that shoots from the hip which becomes both a blessing and curse in her relations with those that have regular contact with the MC.

Some of the negative points are the occasional jumble, but from another review this is not the best written so it seems that the translators are trying to keep things together for the reader's behalf. I occasionally dislike the short chapters, but if they are translating and fixing grammar and sentence structure I appreciate them even more.

Another hard aspect that some people mention is that the idea that is in play that "money solves everything." While there are times that people see this as a potential truth, you can't deny that sometimes it takes money to correct, move or bring to light certain situations. The ML's mother seems to express this with the birthday presents she provides that are not really something most of the general population would provide to underage or "minors" that should not have before acquiring a license. Already a homeowner before college, along with a plane and yacht with personnel to maintain and pilot them, does seem over the top.

Others have remark that the MC "Don't care" attitude is either a plus or a minus, but have they not considered that it's both for certain reasons? I see a part of it as a self-defense to keep others from realizing that she is tender-hearted and easily hurt. However, certain times this only makes the enemies that are trying to cause troubles for her even angrier since they are not getting the results they desire leading to more drama and tougher circumstances to come her way. This is also where the attitude and personality of the ML is both a hindrance and blessing since when a swap happens and he shoots from the hip. He either gets her situation solved or increases the animosity of the enemies. Sometimes I think she is the type to just roll with the punches when they are directed at her since she has always seen her situation as "someone that is potentially disposable." BUT, when they say or do something to those she considers "friends, " is when she stands firmly and becomes a ROCK! I see the MC as very relatable and easy to understand when you can see her from these multiple sides. However, I know these people are harder to find in real life, since I think they are introverts in society. Until you are a friend or enemy of this type of person, you won't realize who they are or potentially why they are that way without knowledge of their personality and background.

I do look forward to the progress of this story, and hope that circumstances can occur that could "shock" us and the MC to release or expose her vulnerabilities that currently hinder her from forming strong attachments. I see most of the relationships she has or connected to as "unhealthy." Plus, while she's blase over various enemy attacks, she's not open enough to truly connect to anyone other than her grandmother and ML. <<less

I really love this novel (♥ω♥) ~♪ It's a refreshment from all CEOs and Imperial era novels I had ☺

And this is the only school-related story I read so far 🤭🤭 Usually I don't really care about high schoolers story and romance, but this one is an exeption..

TRULLY RECOMMENDED !! 👍👍✨

Decent plot and world, with very nice characters and a good story flow, doesn't get boring nor repetitive, also has not many cliches. Overall although calling it a masterpiece would be too much, its entertaining enough for a 4.5 rating.

A very smooth cute novel that focuses on the realisations and development of romance between two people who could swap bodies. Limited dogblood, and slightly uneventful but the relationship dynamics of the main couple and the various characters keep the intrigue and interest.

After reading the reviews I thought the ML would be forcing her to do everything for him while also being a total jerk, I'm glad I gave it a chance. It's a good novel, MC doesn't care about accolades, all she wants is her grandma happy. Like all Chinese novels, there is a lot of drama but I like that. So far I see nothing wrong with the novel, it's fiction after all.

Wow, I knew there would be retribution, but to think it would be so spectacular. I couldn't wait for the translators, so I ended up binge-reading the MLT Chinese version.

Writing: 7/10

The writing style is simple with an average word flow. There are quite a few awkward places where it feels like the tone shift is too sudden without any reason or rhyme. It's not too bad and could probably be refined through a simple pass from a professional editor.

... more>> Story: 9/10

The story provides a rather unique twist that really helps glue together the plot. The way that the two leads interact and grow to where they end up really shows in the story and feels logical once you stop to think that they had shared their experiences since childhood and grew up taking their bodies for granted until they finally met. Story direction is fairly predictable for the most part with nice twists thrown in that feel logical in regards to the characters involved. While some characters don't develop and are fairly two dimensional the characters who do show growth are done so in subtle and amazing ways most of the time.

Translation: 9/10

I feel that the translators had done a very good job on the chapters that they had done. Not much else to say on this point.

Overall, a very good read. You end up feeling for characters that you didn't expect to. There are some issues with the way things are executed, but most of the poorly executed plot points are overshadowed by superior character development for certain charcters. <<less

I enjoy the story even though there are parts that are just plain annoying for me to read but this story is so satisfying so I will continue to read.

Aside from that my only qualm is that it seems that the translators changed/split the chapters? I was looking for the source but found MTL instead and saw the chapters are differently numbered.

It is a light read. The revenge is not too cruel but its satisfying to read. The fluff is great, it becomes more fluffier in th emiddle of the story. I like how the protagonists don't fall in love with each other just because they are the protagonists. The story is 10/10 and the translation is 10/10. I would have liked it if the translator updated the full chapter than in parts but I do understand that these's story's chaps are loong loong loong so, thank you for picking it... more>> up. <<less

I mtl the novel, it has a total of 89 chapters which are really long. That's is why the translator probably split them, chapter 52 that is translated is around chapter 11 in the original if I remember correctly.

Story, simply put I really liked the story. It has a nice plot, some things in the story caught me by suprise. It most of all has a happy ending. It isnt like the other stories where in the ending theyre older and have a bun. It leaves their further happy lives... more>> up to you.

Suuper interesting and unique! Obviously it's fluffy and nothing super complex, but the premise is interesting and I'm starting to enjoy MC's character. I wish ML would show some restraint in her body! But I guess he has the power to back it up, and he wants to pamper her, so he can be (reluctantly) forgiven.

Can't wait for the face-slapping! Thanks to the translating team's hard work! Btw I advise potential readers to wait for more chapters to stockpile first before reading; every chapter is split into 2-3 parts.

Haven't read enough to form a proper opinion, but thus far:

Standard set-up and characters which are nevertheless made more interesting by the body-swapping. Nice to see that the author followed up with the inevitable dissonance which would result from different people occupying the same body. Relationship between the two leads seems good. The ML has a temper but it's well written and adds to his character. FL has a bit of a non-personality. The writing can be a bit jumpy, and I got whiplash from how fast events/relationships progressed.

Hopefully this... more>> will continue to keep the good while branching away from standard tropes. <<less
