Chu Qiao was known as Agent 005 within the Secret Service’s 11th Division in her former life. She was locked up in the Secret Service’s prison as she was framed. After she successfully broke out from prison, she sacrificed her life bravely to preserve the Secret Service by defusing a bomb meant to wipe them out.

After her demise, she was magically transported back in time to the Xia Dynasty to start a new life, where she assumed the identity of an 8-year-old female servant. In order to help Yan Xun, the Prince of Yan Bei, escape, she lived in the imperial palace for eight years along with him. In the process, they helped each other to become stronger such that they could rebel against the Xia Empire and return to the territory of Yan Bei.

The first half of the novel depicts vividly how the two characters go through thick and thin, hand in hand – Chu Qiao helping Yan Xun to achieve his dreams and Yan Xun’s love towards Chu Qiao. However, the two of them start to drift apart due to their conflicting personalities – Chu Qiao having a kind hearted nature and Yan Xun having the airs of a prince: arrogant and boisterous.

Chu Qiao eventually leaves Yan Xun and ends up together with Zhuge Yue, who had always fancied her all along. The two of them eventually become recognised as the famous Queen of Beauty and the King of the Green Sea, establishing a prosperous, long-standing and stable dynasty. The old monarchy system was undoubtedly and easily scrapped; the new Xia Empire, helmed by the two of them, rose from the verge of its downfall like a phoenix from the ashes!

Read up to Ch 22, and I have to say I'm utterly baffled by the story. While the story line is interesting, the execution is just plain confusing. MC's early life is was nicely done, except it wasn't quite clear how she first died. The abruptness of her new child body in a different world/time was a bit abrupt as well. The viciousness of her new world where nobilities prey on s*ave children and where might is right is sad and tragic. However, from where the new life begins, the... more>> storyline gets really choppy and just plain confusing. From a group of s*ave children where she is now the last one, and then suddenly becoming a favored s*ave of 4th Prince, scheming with some other noble Yan Xun, I really don't understand what's going on. Not much is explained about the MC's personality or goals. It's assumed that she's sticking around for revenge purposes, but not quite clear. With her skills, she could have really just slit everyone's throats in the middle of the night. So why is she sticking around? In addition, maybe reading the summary here has thrown me off because it makes it seems there are 2 love interests? Both guys don't quite to seem have much redeeming qualities. Zhuge Yue, seems like a spoiled vicious noble capable of killing children for sport, and while Yun Xun participates in similar fashion publically--he may be hiding ulterior motives. Both don't seem very romantic or even redeemable characters thus far. Not sure if I can recommend this novel. Maybe I'll return and marathon it once more if there are more chapters, but too much of this story was off putting. <<less

This story was heartwrenchingly sad - broke my heart and made me cry like a baby. The end was just so bittersweet.

I see many similarities between this novel and Bu Bu Jing Xin, except that this one doesn't end in tragedy

Definitely a darker story. It's refreshing because the MC at first is 8 years old. So none of her martial prowess is very useful yet. What she does use is her youth and intelligence to exact revenge. I am interested to see what happens after all of her revenge. But I am happy that those that deserve to die will die, and most die a horrible death. But this novel is not for those that can't deal with harsh realities of history. Those types of murders and annihilation definitely happened... more>> in ancient china. This novel is really good. I can't wait for more to be translated. <<less

I've been running out of novels with female protagonists so I decided to give this a try.

Through the first 3 chapters we see how the main female MC in her first life is truly a talented and dedicated agent who died for the greater good. When she finally begins her second life as the 8 year old s*ave, it was really hard to churn. I mean, waking up as a s*ave is already some high difficulty setting, but waking up to wolves is another thing. Some names that were mentioned... more>> in the summary made their appearance but it's very difficult to like any of them so far.

It's still at 5 chapters, but the translation is good and the story has a very strong female MC. I'll be waiting patiently for more!

EDIT: This is actually a pretty gruesome and dark story... I wonder if it will continue. But it's great! <<less

I was blown away by the blockbuster 2017 tv drama, Princess Agents. The amazing fight scenes with Zanilla Zhao, the graphic violence/cruelty in a s*ave-owning aristocratic society, and the inherent power of a lowly s*ave girl with heart and strength who is true to her friends - made a lasting impression on me. It was very different from the other female protagonist chinese historical dramas I had seen. I loved it.

Oddly, the drama only filmed half of the book. Because of the abrupt ending in the drama, I went to... more>> the online translations available at the time:

    • Pinayatsunshinestate's blog translations of the chapters where the heroine and hero meet again, after the drama ended
    • Yunshengw's blog recaps of the novel in summary
    • Spring breeze's translation of the lake scene and immediate aftermath
    • Sueleesunshine's blog translations of the engagement and marriage chapters!!!!
    • Ninja Reflection's blog translations of the final chapters
There are also some incomplete but stilted translations available elsewhere. Basically, from what I can tell from these piecemeal translations,

although there is there is blood, war and betrayal by others, the hero lives and becomes the king of another country, she marries him, they take over the world and live happily ever after.

The description above says, "The two of them eventually become recognised as the famous Queen of Beauty and the King of the Green Sea, establishing a prosperous, long-standing and stable dynasty." Happy ending. Perfect.

A friend read the entire book in hard copy in Chinese, and said it was excellent.

The drama and book are different, as there are restrictions on historical dramas aired on Chinese TV. For example, although the novel heroine is a transmigrated special ops women who wakes in the body of an 8 year old, who then ends up living with the Prince of Yan Bei for 8 years in his exiled state, in the drama Zanilla Zhao is a young girl with superhuman abilities from her secret sect mother and early childhood assassin training, and only lives with the Prince of Yan Bei for 3 years. Etc.

I haven't yet read the new (started May 2018) chapter-by-chapter translations by Qidian International listed here, but I love the drama, the story that I know piecemeal so far, and I hope their translation is good. So far, they have up to chapters 243 on their website (although it's not updated on novel updates), and you have to either watch an ad, or pay with "stones" (you earn them by checking in on the website regularly) to view the hidden chapters.

I'll update this once I've read their translation. Zanilla Zhao, Kenny Lin and Shawn Dou were amazing in Princess Agents, and like many other fans, I secretly hope they come back to film the second half of the novel!

Update: I've read the completed 292 chapter novel at www. Webnovel. Com. The translation is good. Pros: Our heroine gets her happy ending, sticks to her principles, and I get to read the rest of the story after the lake scene. And there is so much character growth that it even gets kind of sad. There are also some side stories and epilogues at the end. Con: The story has so much war. There are many battles, involving 70, 000 dead here, 40, 000 dead there, etc. It was hard to imagine in my mind, as I'm used to light novels, not war novels. There are many characters and I soon forgot the names of most of the soldiers, servants, foreign royals, etc. They should include a map, because most of the novel involves many characters travelling all over the continent, planning military battles and excursions based on the geography. In conclusion, it was a good read and I'd recommend it. However, the cost in spirit stones is pretty high. <<less

Story is pretty good, albeit dark. There are discrepancies in the plot that happeneds several times, usually during major turning points in the story.

Long story short, FL has a severe case of Stockholm Syndrome.

To my disappointment FL falls for the man that massecures her clan, sold all of her aunts to brothels, ens*aved all the children of her clan including herself. The s*ave conditions are horrible and before FL's own eyes, her cousins, brothers, and sisters where all slowly dismembered alive, beatened to death, given to an old sadistic pedophile and then killed, and fed to starving dogs where they were all devoured while alive. So FL sees all this and swears revenge, but because ML treated her 'well' she spares his life cause he 'spared' her life.... then falls in love cause ML 'saved' her numerous times after FL had escaped. Note ML wants to ens*ave her again.......

(I do not consider some one being saved if personA created a situation in which personB is about to die, but is 'saved' by personA) (personB would not have had a possibility of death, were it not for personA) <<less

So far so great! Who and where she reincarnates to, is very different and fresh from the usual. Her personality is also not as stoic and completely emotionless. We get to see her actually feel something for the characters, which are very deep and understandable. How the author approaches this genre is also more realistic and dark. Usually the setting of where the MC lands, seems more like there is a bunch of politics and verbal squabbles, but this story also reveals way more physically harsh and disturbing events that... more>> are realistic to this time period. But that's what makes it fresher and more intense too! The reincarnation actually starts at chapter 4. That's where the action gets more intense and fun. Personally I skipped chapter 1-3 because its just backstory that idk if it's gonna be important later, but it usually never is. Skip it or don't, up to you! Either way a really exciting story awaits you~ <<less

One thing I Hate most to read in 'transmigration' story, when the MC are clearly 'a different SOUL', insert into a different body, AND BECOME A RETARD!

Suppose, the original-body's relative.. also the 2nd-Male-Character.. all those feeling like hate and revange, are NON OF HER BUSINESS!

She might be a genius before. Then turn into a retard... being a nosy into other people business, snooping around and letting her-self into trouble, BUT keep on blaming others for her suffering (???) TOTALY STUP*D!

I first discover this a year ago though I was reluctant to read it back then, a week before now I watched the adaptation drama frustrated by the ending, then by searching I realized that The Legend of Chu Qiao: Division 11's Princess Agent was indeed the novel version of the the drama.

So I rated this novel 5/5. Why? Even though this novel is full of drama and makes my heart aches, the author did a good job portraying each characters to the best they can be, (I also... more>> salute the translators of this novel a big thanks for them).

I highly suggested this novel for those readers who loves transmigration, funny dialogues, ancient plot, betrayals, heart wrenching goodbyes, and a HAPPY ENDING... <<less

it's a good read if you not against a communism protagonist or a dark story, there were more people died in this story than WWII western front, from a prince to a farmer new born, the wars devoured them all. (our MC alone killed atleast thousands her own)

as a soldier and a communist officer, our main were a straightforward and stubborn type till her dream got ruined by the people she trust most. When the good people killed by their comrades, the disciple ordered soldiers to kill his teachers,... more>> the soldiers killed their own people, her beliefs slowly bend.

not alot about girls fight over some princes, not about building an ancient PRC. Story is about a girl reborn into the end of Warlord era, sacrificed herself for the people, led a harder life than a s*ave or a king. At the end, she changed the era, opened the rulers eyes

2 of them love her, 1 other loved her when the last were just a kid whom called her his aunt...

but the era itself changed her, turned her back to a happy women instead of a stubbon soldier

you might hates the characters but they were well created, everyone has their own growth, they changed, they made people loves them or hates them instead of staying undeveloped till the end. People might complain about the slow development of the main lead but after all, she were a communist who teached some younger childs about civil war (China Civil war) or Marx in her free time, be open minded and give her sometimes to grows

her flat chest hohoho

its a good read as long as readers are open minded ones and can stand the bloodness of war. The countries, the people mind set were well placed into the era. The plot were confusing some time and had lot of flaws but the whole story were well written. read if you have free time and tired of sweet stories <<less

The usual premise of a skilled woman being transmigrated into another world and into a weak body. However, I enjoyed the initial chapters after her arrival. They paint a grim picture of a foreboding story of blood, tears and revenge. The MC is decisive and almost fatalistic in her outlook, she adapted quickly to her new environment and aren't afraid of staining her hands with murder and promised to get her vengeance on the nobles.

Decent start, looking forward for more.

I first saw the drama that was made for this novel but I'm so happy that I read the novel after. The novel is way better than the drama.

This novel is a slow placed one, especially with the the romance but it's so worth it. Everything is so well written that you'll get sucked in the plot and the characters battles with what they have to do and what they desire that you will not be able to put it down.

The romance is a slow one but it's worth when you get to the part when Chu Qiao (MC) finds out that Zhuge Yue (ML) is alive, that's when the true story of these two starts.

Like AFM mentioned, why did FL become a ret*rd after transmigration? As an agent in her first life, how can she not know how horrible politics is? Why would she involve herself in this struggle? FL’s attitude is baffling and contributes much to the upheaval in the story. The story has too much going on.

So I'm still reading it, plan to finish it, but I need a break. A breather. Cause this sh*t right here is HARSH!! The death toll alone makes me wonder how there are still people alive in this novel. The killing of innocents is overwhelming. And the few people who have a heart I fear will be taken advantage of.

This is not a light hearted story. Its full of political bullsh*t that makes me f*ucking hate the rich and powerful. If you can keep up with the fast pace events... more>> and endless characters it's a good read.

Now... back to work the story. 😅

It took me longer to get through this story than most because there is SO MUCH WAR!!

Very Military and Politcal heavy with enough romance to keep me around.

Though it was good, I kept my review at 4 stars because the story seemed to move forward in time, before going back to the present, and even delving into the past, which kinda got confusing. Then the author went and

killed my favorite character Emperor Li Ce. I was too ready to f*ck someone up!! 😤

And the ending was iffy I mean

For Yan Xun to be such a tyrannical lowly bastard who killed off all the people who helped raise him to emperor really made me want to see something bad happen to him. But the worse he got was lonely the rest of his life... Author, couldn't you at least cripple his a$$?! 😫

Regardless, if you like heart wrenching drama, non-stop action, and a dark heavy plot, this story is made for you.

Translation is good too!! 😏 <<less
