Read the manga first, basically it’s one of those stories where the MC is a normal person with unknown skills. But later he finds out he’s stronger than the hero himself who does nothing but bit*h and whine and blames everyone else for his failures. All in all great read MC’s personality could be a little more aggressive, since he’s on of those let’s all get along no hard feelings type of guys.

This one started off as a pretty good story. But, once he gets home, the story just stops. It just ends there. There's no growth, nor any progression. Only 3 dungeons ever visited in the whole 63 chapters, yet, the story holds that he HAS to defeat the dungeon masters of many. I know it's a SoL, but every other SoL I've read has some kind of movement or development in it.
I think the author just ran out of ideas about 10 chapters, or so, ago. This, my friends, and I'll say it again, is the reason why real authors make an outline - otherwise, they're doomed to failure when their main ideas run out.

There are some pretty cool characters, but there's absolutely nothing even close to romance whatsoever in it. This reads as a shounen, and everybody knows how much I hate shounen. In other words, it reads like something you'd find in the library of an elementary, and maybe a middle school, with quite a bit of the same old, over-used cliches found in most shounen. It does have a couple of new and fresh ideas, but they don't hold the attention very long.

Well, I'm dropping it, and I really don't recommend. I'll put this in my, "Doubt I'll Ever Read Again, Maybe If There's Absolutely Nothing Else" list. Maybe the manga's better. Maybe I'll check it out But for this WN, I don't recommend, unless you have absolutely nothing else. So, only 2 stars.

As usual, LNT provides awesome TL and editing work.

Well, I've read enough to give my honest thoughts.

The story writing technique is quite good, the set up is good enough to move the plot forward, even if the setting is cliché I can see this as an advantage because that makes the characterizations stand out on their own.

There definitely is character growth on everyone involved in the story which is a refreshing thing to see, the MC is growing, which I love, because most of this stories tend to leave character development on the backburner and leave people as... more>> they are from the start unless some plot device forces them to change, and they do, but then revert to how they were before, this story manages to not do that (at least so far).

His overall character seems to remain the same but he haves actually learned to be a better version of himself, I just wonder if the author will keep doing this or will focus on something else and leave things as they are.

I personally don't like this kinds of push over "yes man" characters that do everything without really considering things trough just to advance the plot that the author wanted to set up, but this author manages to actually make the character relatable by giving him an appropriate inner monologue and proper characterization of his worries and priorities.

That is to say, IF, you have already read this "hero was a d*ck to the one that was actually important and powerful" kinds of stories, you'll find that this one feels more fleshed out and interesting than the others because of this portrayals and characterizations

He's got an actual goal and there is an actual plot to move forward, it doesn't just meander trough directionless set piece after set piece being dragged by the plot.

The only thing I'm dreading is the "Harem romance R-15" tags... because... that just means he's never going to do anything and every single female is going to fall head over heels for him...

Which is, for me, a distraction from the actual plot and story progression.

We all know the Japanese MC syndrome where he's never going to pick anyone because the females are there just to become waifu material for the reader, if he ever picks one, the author makes enemies with the fans of whoever he didn't pick... which is a shame... because the only recourse is to meander on obnoxious "uuu... I... love my sister".

If anything, at least it hasn't come as forced, because he's focusing on the main plot before anything else, but this just makes things frustrating to whoever was looking forward to the "romace" tag.

Anyway, complaining about Japanese authors aside, give this one a go if you want a properly characterized MC in this cliché setting, because I think this one is one step above the others just because of the character growth and progression and having an actual PLOT. <<less
