The best gaming novel I've ever read. Not with usual virtual reality but just keyboard and mouse.

The world building is so detail and every character been developed nicely. It's repetitive but hey, it's a game so you need to be repetitive to farm.

This is a novel that is worth 5/5.

The reason being?

Story: - A pro gamer that doesn't fit the new management of pro-gamer guilds (where they want to rake in the moolah, and he doesn't give a damn about it), surprisingly finds a new motivation in an organic way, when he plays the same game, but in a different server, and things roll from there. There are a lot of cultural tropes, especially in regards to the idea of a 'gaming studio', which captures the essence but isn't exactly 100% mirror... more>> of what happens in real life.

As for storytelling; it is a somewhat generic "in-and-out" of the virtual world experience, but a more believable setting (our MC isn't a rich bloke, and his gaming stamina, prowess is believable). He doesn't win all matches, he doesn't lose all matches, but he definitely squeezes the opportunity (not to the point of unbelievable like Ark, or other ilk) <<less

Review as of 100+ chapter.

Kinda rare RPG chinese novel. It's not VR or transported to game world, it's real world meaning e-sport with mouse and keyboard type of game. The plot is good and refreshing early on, the action, combat, and drama are very detailed and realistic. But after around 100 chapter I personally feel that the story is getting kinda slow paced unlike the early on.

MC is not alpha male gotta catch 'em all harem type character (But there are indeed multiple potential girls surrounding him). He's a rare... more>> very respectable MC that could naturally turn enemies to comrade. He's not gonna take revenge like a beast

[I'd recommend trying a dozen or so chapter to get the feel of it] <<less

Its a unique novel about games. Its characters are funny and interesting.

Its about dungeon records. Pro pvp scene. Guild strugles within a new server..

The many aspects and little details that is relateable when you plays an mmo is what makes this soo good. While being funny in its own way.

Nice story that brings you into the universe of pro-gaming and a super OP MC who's god at this game and wants to make a comeback after being unjustly banned from his club.

Well, this novel is amazing, read it ^^.

it's a really nice novel. Though I feel it will have trouble developing.

The MC plays unspecialized and that means he is done getting skills at lvl 20. That means that he won't develop anymore, instead others will just get stronger. While he can only rely on his god-like gamer skills.

I will probably pick this up again in a few months.

The story’s great, more importantly the main character is NOT a super arrogant douche like the usual chinese MC that I usually read. Aside from boastful words/trash talk to bait his opponent, Its refreshing and easier to like the MC too. He’s canny, good at thinking ahead, and posses a good long temper...

Other character is quirky and likeable too, like SBI random (and funny) talk...

Also, the fact that many player denies his (shameless but true) claim as the retired God of the game is kind of funny... and few who started to suspect is sweating bullets because God (of the game) has descended!

Really like this MMO novel which is similar to LMS in the way that the MC is a pro gamer.

I had never read a game based story before. Am glad to say that it was better late then never. King's Avatar has been a good revelation and has been a pleasure to read with a rich development of characters and the ensuing relationships.

So its not a VRMMO novel but a normal MMORPG that's on a pc. Unique in the sense that the MC is not selling equipment for money or has to support his whole family with his mmo money. But instead is a story about how someone chased out of a pro-scene makes a comeback. I would say the blend is about 85% game view and 15% real life. While there might be some romance in the future the novel doesn't focus on it but instead on the main plot which... more>> is the MC's come back into the scene.

I do highly recommend this novel to people who enjoy stories about people making a comeback from something they were chased out of. Do note that this novel has a ton of technical terms that one will have to get familiar with so it can be off putting at the start. <<less
